Eight: Penny
Elaina sat in the dining hall absolutely demolishing a plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Nemona and Trish were off somewhere doing who knows what, and Arven was out in the campus garden, so that left Elaina alone for lunch. All of a sudden, she heard a timid voice behind her. "Can I sit?" She turned to find Penny standing behind her with a sandwich in one hand and her phone in the other. Elaina smiled.
"Of course, Penny, have a seat." Penny sat down and began to wordlessly eat her sandwich. Elaina did her best to look civilized as she returned to the plate of spaghetti. After a few minutes, Penny spoke, almost too quietly to hear. "What are you doing after this?"
Elaina shrugged. "Probably go back to my room, honestly. I have advanced battle strat homework and Mr. Vaughn doesn't take late work." Penny's face fell a bit as Elaina spoke. Elaina paused for a minute, then spoke again. "Do you wanna come hang out in my room with me, Penny?" Penny turned bright red but looked up at Elaina "Yeah." Elaina ate the last few meatballs from her spaghetti plate and moved to put her dish with the others. Penny wrapped her sandwich back up and put it in her bag. The two girls made their way from the dining hall to Dragontongue in a tense silence, broken only by a short "eep" from Penny when Elaina offered her hand. Penny took it, and as the two entered the dorm hall and stepped into the stairwell, the tension grew to be nearly unbearable.
After what seemed like an eternity, Elaina turned the key and opened her door to let the two of them inside. Penny followed Elaina in, calmly shut the door, then as Elaina turned, she was met with Penny's lips on her own. The kiss caused Elaina to melt into Penny. She pulled the other girl in close as she felt her breath being snatched from her lips. After what seemed like mere seconds, the two separated. Penny looked to Elaina sheepishly. "If you're going to kiss me, I like it like that."
Elaina smiled in what she hoped was a beautiful and sultry way. "Well, I'll have to remember that, since I'd most definitely like to keep kissing you." She walked over to her bed and flopped down onto it. She shot Penny a furtive look, then smiled. Penny kicked off her shoes and pulled her hoodie over her head. She wore a black shirt with a Sylveon print underneath. "Though I am curious how you get around uniform requirements." Penny smiled as she sat next to Elaina.
"Perks of being a wallflower, 'Layna." Penny responded, settling into Elaina's shoulder. There was a knock at the bathroom door before a "Yo, 'Layna, you in here?" Penny's face went pale white as the bathroom door flung open. Nemona stepped out of the bathroom, and spied the two women, "Well, guess I'll be texting you later." She muttered as she stepped back into the bathroom and closed the door. Penny let out a relieved sigh.
"She wasn't even supposed to be here. She has a class at 12:30." Elaina said as Penny settled back into her. "It's ok. She hopefully knows not to bother us." Penny put her hand in Elaina's as the two settled. "Do you want to kiss me again, 'Layna?" Penny asked sweetly as she snuggled Elaina. Elaina turned Penny's head to her as she kicked off her shoes. As the two women kissed again, Elaina pulled Penny down on top of her. As Penny broke the kiss blushing a deep red, she looked down at Elaina. "I'm not sure I'm ready to be girlfriends. Is that ok?"
Elaina smiled and pulled Penny's face back down to hers. "It's perfectly fine, after all we just met." She said before pulling Penny into her kiss. Penny pulled away and climbed off of Elaina.
"Mespirit's grace, we have just met, and I'm here making out with you on the first day of classes." Penny looked down at herself shamefully, then stood up. "I have to go, sorry, 'Layna." Penny stood, tugged on her hoodie and shoes, and made for the door. Elaina stopped her. "Penny, you didn't do anything wrong. I had a great time. Get home safe, ok?" Penny turned, and Elaina saw the slightest hint of a smile on her face. "I had fun too. I'll text you." She said as the door closed behind her.
