AN: For context, details, or whatever about somethings in this story like Kalia and her friends, I suggest you take a look at one of my earlier bleach stories called Bleach: New Generation with a few other stories that are tied with it.
Everything has gone nuts and out of hand for Kalia so quickly. An enemy she thought was gone has somehow returned, her parents have a little boy that is not her brother named Kazui, and no one seems to know who she is. It's making no sense to her. At a time like this, the only person they all can go to for help is Kisuke Urahara.
"Fascinating..." Kisuke said as they all gathered at his shop and informed everything happened with his assistant, Tessai, serving everyone some snacks and beverages. "This girl here is claiming she's Ichigo's and Orihime's daughter, has soul reaper powers, and these crystals have no affect on her."
"Fascinating is one word for it." Uryu said.
"Another is completely bizarre." Ichigo said.
"Will someone please tell me what the hell is going on here?" Kalia said as she wanted answers and wanted them now.
"Very well. We'll tell you what's going on...because it looks like you might be the only one that can help." Kisuke said as he gave Kalia what she wanted. "Not that long ago, a mysterious group called the Jigoku attacked the Soul Society without warning. There were only seven of them in total, but they seem to be quite powerful. Their powers and abilities allow them to be on par with those of captain level. That means some of the less established soul reapers fell quite easily to them. During their invasion, they were placing these large crystals all throughout the Soul Society."
"And they are now turning their attention to the World of the Living." Uryu said. "Somehow these crystals have taken away our powers."
"And it's not just Ichigo and his friends here. Many soul reapers have already lost their powers and abilities." Kisuke claimed. "We've tried breaking the crystals apart, but there appears to be an infinite amount of them. They're tough to break and they just don't seem to runout. These crystals somehow have the unique ability to absorb spirit energy, and that's a problem for us."
"What does that mean for the Soul Society and here?" Chad questioned.
"I don't know, but if they can harness all that power, we're looking at disastrous results." Kisuke said. "These crystals are constantly draining spirit energy straight out of the air and ground. It might not be as rich here in as it is in the Soul Society, but it's still a problem. Head-Captain Kyoraku is doing his best to manage things in the Seireitei, but a lot of soul reapers have lost their powers. Captain Kurotsuchi managed to get some fragments of the crystals to analyze, but even he hasn't figured them out yet."
"Well, maybe this girl knows something. She knew who those guys were and was able to fight them off." Ichigo said.
"Are you kidding? I don't even know what planet I'm on anymore." Kalia claimed. Kalia didn't understand anything on what was going. Right then was when Orihime came walking in.
"How's Kazui?" Ichigo asked.
"Yoruichi and Kon are keeping an eye on him. I finally managed to get him to go to sleep." Orihime said.
"Good. Now let's get down to business." Ichigo said as he stared right at Kalia. "Who are you? You claim your our daughter, but Orihime and I only have a son."
"I am your daughter." Kalia claimed. "You do have a son, but you have two daughters as well. And what about Gado? Where is he?" She keeps claiming that, but no one seemed to believe her.
"She does have a strong resemblance to Orihime." Uryu said. "When she was in that soul reaper form of hers, she looked just like Orihime did that time we disguised ourselves as soul reapers to save Rukia."
"But she looks like she's fifteen. Ichigo and Orihime are in their late twenties. If she is their daughter, they would have had to been twelve." Chad said.
"I'm telling you the truth! I am their daughter!" Kalia said. "Although, now I've gotten a good look at all of you, you do look a little younger and different. I just didn't see it at the time. Take Dad here. That haircut makes him look similar to my Grandpa Isshin."
"What?! I look like my old man?!" Ichigo said as he didn't like the sound of that.
"Well, let's see how true your little claim is." Kisuke said. He ran a few tests to see if Kalia really was telling the truth. He took a few scanners, checked a few things with Kalia, and she just took it despite getting annoyed. When Kisuke had all that he needed, he was testing the results. "DNA tests are coming back positive. She really is your daughter like she says."
"Told you." Kalia said.
"How can this be?" Ichigo questioned.
"I like answers myself." Kalia said. This was baffling to a lot of them.
"The only thing I can think of...is that you come from a parallel world." Kisuke said.
"A parallel world? You mean a world that's similar but also different from our own?" Uryu said.
"Yes." Kisuke confirmed. "It's possible that the placement of the crystals draining away spirit energy from the land itself has created distortions by unsettling the balance between here and the Soul Society. It's causing small rifts in the space-time continuum. You must have fallen through a rift and that's how you ended up here. It's only a theory, but it's the only thing I can think of."
"That would explain why the crystals had no effect on you. It's because you're not from this dimension." Uryu claimed.
"Figures Oromaus has something to do with that." Kalia blamed as she despised him.
"How do you know our enemies in the first place?" Uryu questioned.
"I've dealt with the Jigoku before." Kalia claimed. "My friends and I fought them, and they have a twisted sense of second chances. Last time, they tried to break open the gates that went to Hell. However, this whole thing with these crystals is new to me."
"I see..." Kisuke said. "The fact that you fought them in your world will be most helpful to us."
"But if this is really an alternate world, how am I suppose to get back to my world?!" Kalia questioned.
"I'm not sure. This is going to take some research and studying for we never encountered a situation like this before." Kisuke said. It looks like Kalia might be stuck here for a while.
...
Kalia
This was a lot to take in. Kalia is now in an alternate world, and it's in a world where she doesn't even appear to exist. She wasn't sure what to think of this. All she did was stare out a window and up at the moon. After checking to see if Kazui was okay, Orihime went to check on her. She wasn't the only one. Ichigo and the guys were worried about her as well.
"Ichigo, isn't this exciting?" Orihime asked as she seemed rather excited. "I've been thinking about Kazui having siblings and now he has a sister."
"Slow down, Orihime." Ichigo said as he didn't think the same. "We don't know anything about her. We can't exactly call her Kazui's sister."
"Besides, we might want to take it easy on her, Orihime." Uryu said. "If she really is from another world, just imagine how scared and confused she must be."
"Not exactly what I would say. She's handling this like Ichigo would." Chad said.
"You are aware I can hear you." Kalia said as all eyes were on her. "Although, I get that a lot. People say I get my looks from my mother, but my personality from my dad."
"Ichigo's daughter acting like him? That's a scary thought." Uryu said with Ichigo glaring at him.
"So, you're my daughter from another world." Ichigo said. "What are Orihime and I like back in your world? What is our family like there?"
"I'll show you." Kalia said as she reached through what little personal belongings she has and had a picture of her with her family. "This is the most recent one." She said as she showed it to them and Ichigo and Orihime were amazed with what they were seeing. "That's me with my parents. The two little squirts are my younger brother and sister named Kenji and Katie. That's also our dog named Gado. Dog might be man's best friend, but he's mine."
"Wow... This is... I don't know what to think." Ichigo said as this was a strange experience. "I can't imagine my life without Kazui in it, but seeing me with a different family is..." There were really know words to describe this.
"And you clearly followed in your father's footsteps in being a substitute soul reaper." Uryu said.
"Well, it didn't start out like that." Kalia said.
"What do you mean?" Orihime questioned.
"Please, Kalia... Share more of your story with us." Uryu said. "Given the situation, you should feel secure here. I could also tell that there's some deep hatred you have towards this Oromaus. Why is that?"
"Well, it's a long and complicated story." Kalia said as she stared up at the moon and was thinking back. "The day I was born was supposed to be the greatest day of my parents' lives, but that didn't last long. On the day I was born, my mother and I were kidnapped by arrancars." She said with the four of them surprised by the start of her story. "As you can imagine, my mother was terrified for my safety and my father was desperate to save us. He succeeded, but that whole experience convinced my parents to keep the whole thing with soul reapers and hollows a secret from me. They didn't want me to get involved in that kind of thing, but it didn't stay like that. When I was younger, a traitorous soul reaper kidnapped me to challenge my dad. He wanted to prove that he was the strongest soul reaper there was."
"So Ichigo is pretty well known in your world among soul reapers, is he?" Orihime said.
"Something like that." Kalia said. "My memories of that day were erased, but they soon came back to me. I've had one heck of a life at a young age, and it all didn't stop there. When I was ten, my father mysteriously disappeared." That part shocked them as well.
"I disappeared?" Ichigo questioned.
"Yeah... That was one of the worst moments of my family's life." Kalia said. "No one knew what happened to him and he's been missing for five years. A lot of people thought he abandoned me and my mother, but we knew he would never do that. Especially when he learned my mother was pregnant with my brother and sister. When that happened, I knew I had to do a lot of growing up for them, but I always believed he would come back."
"So how did you become a soul reaper?" Ichigo asked.
"It all really started the day I met Ryo Kuchiki." Kalia said.
"Kuchiki?! Is he related to Rukia and Byakuya?!" Ichigo asked.
"Sure is. He's Rukia's and Renji's son." Kalia said.
"Son? Wow. In this world, they have a daughter." Ichigo said as he was amazed by this.
"Well, the day I met Ryo was the day it all started for me." Kalia said. "After that, my friends named Sai and Michael gained powers themselves and the four of us have fought together. Becoming a soul reaper ended up becoming a good thing for me because I believed I could use it to find out what really happened to my father, and I did."
"What happened?" Chad asked.
"Along the way, I found out that my father didn't just mysteriously disappeared. He was actually kidnapped." Kalia said with all of them being shocked again. "I found out that Oromaus kidnapped my father and kept him prisoner for five years." She claimed as those harsh memories formed in her head and made her furious. "The bastard even brainwashed him and tried to use him against me and my friends."
"Five years being a captive... That must have taken a toll on your Ichigo." Uryu said.
"Not as much as you think." Kalia said. "He never gave up hope that he would see and my mom again, and that gave him the strength he needed. Of course, I always knew my father was strong. I greatly admired and loved my father. When I was younger, I always felt I was at my happiest whenever I was with him. As for Oromaus, he was powerful and dangerous, but we defeated him and I was able to get my father back. Although, this does explain why it seemed like he didn't know me earlier. He's really from this world."
"Sounds like you went through a lot. I can see why you don't like this Oromaus." Ichigo said.
"You have no idea." Kalia said. "Oromaus was a psychotic man in my world. He messed up my family's life, nearly ruined it. I don't know what he did to my father for all those years, but I hate that man more than anything. I thought I was finally rid of him when my friends and I defeated him, but now I find myself in a world where he's still around." Kalia was getting a feeling of mixed emotions. She enjoyed sharing her life story, but thinking about Oromaus mixed anger and hatred into it. Ichigo could see that, and despite how he's not her father in this world, he still could feel his fatherly instincts kicking in. That's why he walked over to her and placed his hand on her shoulder.
"Don't worry, Kalia. We do need your help, but we'll take care of you. You'll be safe with us." Ichigo claimed with Kalia feeling like she was with her actual father right now. Looks like Kalia is going to be stuck here for a while, but it seems like she's found people that are willing to help her.
