Oh no my Lasaga!

Authors note:

Baking is a science she is the princess bubblegum of this world. Except less crazy. She brings out all the test tubes for brownies.

She has a food scale and luz uses it to pick her up and weigh themselves. And their cat.

Luz had always been a fantastic cook. Who wouldn't when they had an iron chef for a mom who's weeknight dinners just had you scouring the family recipe note cards for hours just to recreate her heavenly mofongo.

She always, without fail, would show up with a beautifully decorated dish to any get-together her friends planned. Oh you need a side dish? Luz has your back, you forgot the turkey for thanksgiving? She's already found a spare and put ridiculous socks on its feet.

And Amity was always right behind her, with a frozen lasagna.

"You know you have to cook it still right?" Willow asked gently, setting the lasagna down and guiding Amity to the couch as if she was about to let her down gently.

Amity nodded, "I thought we should use your oven instead of cooking it beforehand, to ensure it's freshness."

Gus grimaced, "Yeah…about that.."

He folded his hands and nervously looked at Hunter who appeared just as guilty," We may have..broke it."

Amity stared dumbfounded at Gus. How did you break a oven?

Hunter flushed, "We were just trying to make clay pots! The oven works….it just…doesn't, have glass anymore?"

"Wait- So what have you guys been using?" Luz piped up from behind Amity, her hands snaking around her shoulders.

Willow shrugged, "We still have the microwave."

"You all haven't been living off of hot pockets have you?" Amity asked concerned, too many of those were a recipe for disaster.

Willow gained a smirk, which looked out of place, "Oh no, there's the fire pit outside too."

Amity had to reinforce her footing on the ground as Luz gasped and almost launched herself onto her and over the couch, gently correcting the smaller woman's path so she somersaulted next to her instead of onto the floor.

"FIRE PIT?"

Luz grinned from ear to ear while practically clinging to Amity's frame, "Were totally making smores later.." she whispered conspiratorially to her.

Amity smiled softly back, "Okay."

She had no idea what a smore was actually, there were some things she just had not tried. Luz called her a picky eater for sticking with a few things she knew but she was just fine with it. She was just agreeing because she was willing to do anything a cute girl told her to be perfectly honest.

"Yeah- we mostly use it for popcorn though. Hunter has these awesome human MRE's-"

"You're still eating those?" Willow asked calmly, but they were not fooled by her kind demeanor as a dark shadow overtook her glasses.

"Uh-" Hunter choked out, "No?"

"You know what those do to you-"

Amity cut her off to save Hunter from getting any more red," So we can just microwave the lasagna?"

"Well it's kinda uneven in it's heating… human technology seemed to falter somewhere along the lines." Gus pondered.

Hunter rolled his shoulders as he got off the couch, "You guys brought enough other food with you anyway, and Willow made some cookies. I think we'll be fine."

"I was excited to try the legendary Garfield's favorite food but I think it's more of a Halloween food." Gus said, agreeing.

A hum of agreement went throughout the group as they left to devour the chocolate chip cookies in the kitchen.

And it left all but two on the couch.

Amity raised an eyebrow "I guess that was a waste of money then." She laughed as she held Luz tighter who was trying to break out of her hold to get a cookie, "Amityyyy…."

And like a Chinese finger trap, Amity grabbed her waist and flipped over, landing them on their sides as Luz looked up at her with mischievous eyes, "I'll still eat your lasagna."

"No? Please don't?" Amity said confused, scrunching her eyebrows," Why would you want to eat a lasagna popsicle?"

"Well…I like frozen strawberries." Luz stated confidently.

Amity rested her chin over Luz's head, "Not the same thing."

She felt a hot breath on her neck as Luz huffed indignantly, "Yes it is."

"Nuh uh."

"Yes huh."

"Nope."

Luz made a clicking sound and took Amity by surprise as she forcefully wiggled until she broke free, spinning around wildly until she reached the floor.

"Luz what the hell-" She exclaimed, scrambling for Luz's hand and pulling her up to her full height, which only reached to about her shoulders.

"Man I don't know why you brought that anyway, you're crazy good at baking." Luz said.

Amity shrugged, "Willow already had it covered."

Luz rolled her eyes in response," Willow is awesome… but girl your cookies could put tears in the cookie monster's eyes."

Amity snorted, she knew what that was. Luz had forced her to watch Sesame Street as soon as they had access to a t.v., just to prove her point on how creepy kids' shows there were. She had to agree somewhat, she sometimes still had recurring nightmares of big bird.

It was just so…unnatural looking.

She shivered and took Luz's hand," Let's just go get some food."

Luz nodded and raised their conjoined hands in the air, "And try those popsicles!"

Amity smile faltered, "Yes, and- Wait no-"

Luz fearlessly charged through the kitchen, dragging Amity behind her.

Amity sighed, this was going to be absolutely disgusting. And you know what?

That was fine.
