Duel Battlers has begun with sixteen powerful and skillful duelists. The matches were set and the first one was between Henry and Yukina. It began to look like Yukina was going to lose again, but Yukina pulled off an amazing xyz summon and was able to pull off a win. That means Yukina is the first winner and Henry was the first loser. As great as it is she won, the tournament goes on.
"We are now advancing with the second duel of Duel Battlers." M.C. announced as it was underway. "The second duel is between Kent and Thomas." Kent and Thomas' duel was going on with Thomas having his Cannon Captain on the field. Upon the start of the duel, they all noticed the Black Ace's mark with Thomas.
"I still can't believe Thomas ended up joining the Black Ace." Cray said. "I thought he was whacked, but I didn't think he would be stupid."
"Cray, you dueled against this guy before. Does Kent really have a chance?" Cindy said.
"Doesn't matter what I think. Either Kent beats him or he doesn't." Cray said as they all watched the duel unfold.
"You're in trouble now!" Thomas said as it was his turn. "I'm activating Stray Lambs!" He said as two lamb tokens appeared on the field in defense mode. "And now I'll tribute both of them to activate Cannon Captain's special ability! You lose 700LP for each one!" His tokens were loaded into his monster's cannon and fired away and blasted away. Kent got hit hard by the attacks and that caused his life points to drop to 1000. "You're out of luck now! Cannon Captain, blasted Heatsoul Trooper. When that happened, Kent's life points dropped down to 400.
"Kent's in real trouble with this duel. He's going to need make some sort of comeback now or it could be all over." M.C. announced.
"Come on, Kent! Don't lose to this guy!" Yukina cheered.
"You can beat him!" Cindy said.
"Yeah! You better believe I'm going to beat him!" Kent claimed.
"How do you plan to do that? One more good shot is all I need to finish this." Thomas claimed.
"We'll see about that!" Kent said as he looked down at his hand. 'If I can just get another pendulum monster with a high scale, I can do this. Come on, deck. Don't let me down.' He thought as this could be his last chance. "I draw!" He drew his next card and it was just the card he needed. "Oh yeah! That's what I'm talking about! I set the pendulum scale with Heatsoul Lighter and Heatsoul Furnace!" Kent set the scale as his two monsters in two pillars of light.
"Oh boy! It looks like we're about to get some pendulum action!" M.C. announced.
"You better believe we are!" Kent said. "I can now summon monsters from levels four to eight all at once! That's what I'm going to do! I pendulum summon!" He called as a gateway opened up and streams of flames emerged out of it. "I'm bringing back my Heatsoul Trooper with my Heatsoul General!" Both of his monsters appeared with 1200 and 2400atk points.
"Oh yeah! That wannabe sniper is in for it now!" Yukina cheered.
"That's right. Heatsoul Lighter's pendulum ability gives all Heatsoul monsters 500atk points when they're pendulum summoned." Felix said as Kent's monsters were given power and they now had 1700 and 2900atk points.
"And that also triggers my Heatsoul Furnace's affect for you to take damage!" Kent said as his monster shot fireballs at Thomas and blasted Thomas as his life points dropped all the way down to 2500. "This duel is over! Heatsoul General, let's put his captain into early retirement! Blaze Bombardment!" His general opened fired with a series of missiles and destroyed Thomas' only monster as his life points dropped down to 1400. "And now it's over! Heatsoul Trooper is attacking you directly!" His trooper blasted away at Thomas and caused his life points to drop all the way to zero.
"It's over! Kent has won and is advancing to the second round!" M.C. announced with Thomas dropping to his knees in failure.
"Losing does stink. Good thing I'm not a loser." Diego claimed. After that duel, they went on with the next duel. That ended up being Cindy vs. Tasu. Tasu had his Dark Scorpion gang on the field and it might be trouble for Cindy.
"Go, Cindy!" Yukina cheered.
"You can beat him!" Kent cheered.
"What's Tasu doing here in the first place? There's no way he really earned those points." Felix said.
"Maybe, but I guess joining the Black Ace had it's benefits for low lives." Yukina said.
"It's my turn now, Tasu!" Cindy said as he took his next turn.
"Go ahead and try. I've got all that I needed." Tasu said as he closed his eyes. 'I've been improving my deck for this moment. I've also worked on a few new tricks that will help. They think I'm some weak trickster, but they are going to see how wrong they are. I'm going to...' He kept thinking and was distracted from Cindy's turn. It ended up being a big mistake for him.
"Season Fall Wiccan, attack and end this!" Cindy called. Her monster unleashed its attack and blasted Tasu's field with magic. It ended up costing him all his remaining life points and he ended up losing the duel.
"And that is that! Cindy wins and Tasu loses!" M.C. announced.
"What?! Are you serious?!" Tasu said as he realized what just happened. "Darn it! I was so busy with internal monologue that I didn't pay attention to the duel! Diego is probably most displeased with me!"
"Oh please. As if I really expected him to win." Diego claimed.

The Halls
"Cindy! Hey!" Yukina called as they all regrouped in the halls.
"Hey! I really did it! I won!" Cindy said.
"Of course, beating Tasu isn't exactly hard." Felix mumbled so no one heard him.
"We're on a roll. We've already defeated three of the Black Ace duelists." Kent said. "I thought Henry would be a challenge, but it looks like the only one that will be a problem now is Raika. We've got this in the bag."
"You're probably right, Kent, but until we defeat each one of the Black Ace duelists, let's try not to get carried away." Yukina said.
"What are you talking about? Those guys got nothing on us." Kent said. "On that note, I do have to ask you something Cray? What did you think when I took that sniper guy down?!"
"Not too bad, but the guy wasn't all that." Cray said. "I was told he had some skill. I guess he was just having a lucky day when I was the one that dueled him."
"That's so nice of you to say." Kent claimed.
"In what world is that nice?" Felix questioned.
"By the way, where are Sylvia and Hana?" Cindy asked.
"Sylvia's duel is up next. She's going up against Takato." Yukina said. "As for Hana, she's trying to learn more about her opponent. None of us really know who he is." Now that she mentioned it, she thought the other remaining duelists as well. "Let me think... Cray's going up against the twins the same way Cindy faced them. Sabaro is getting himself ready to face Raika. That means Felix's opponent is..."
"Have you forgotten me already?" All of them turned around and saw the former ballerina Tanya.
"Tanya!" Yukina said as she went over to her. "It's good to see you again." She said as the two of them shook hands. "Guys, this is Tanya. We faced each other once before. She's a ballerina that turned into a duelist."
"Tanya... I think I've heard of you." Felix said. "You were a gifted ballerina, but had to retire due to an injury. After that, you decided to take the dueling stage."
"That's right. I am hoping to face you again, Yukina." Tanya said. "As I told you before, I intend to step into the spotlight and for you to become my supporter."
"Huh? What does that mean?" Kent questioned.
"Inside joke. I'll tell you guys about it later." Yukina said.
"Doesn't matter. You're going to have to get through me first, twinkle toes." Felix said. "Our duel will be happening after this one."
"I'm well aware it won't be easy, but I do intend to win." Tanya said as the competitive spirit was starting to ignite between the two of them.
"Speaking of which, we should get going." Yukina said. "Sylvia's duel is going on and we don't want to miss it. We'll see you on the duel field, Tanya." She said as the five of them got going. Despite the circumstances of this tournament, it is good to see some friendly competition between competitors. That's really the true purpose for dueling. At least that's what Yukina and her friends think. Hopefully, defeating the Black Ace will mean they can duel just for the thrill of it again.

The Duel
"The duel between Sylvia and Takato is going rather well, but who will be the one that makes the move that changes everything." M.C. announced. Sylvia was now dueling against Takato. The duel looks like it could really go either way. However, it was Sylvia's turn and she got something big planned for him.
"Sylvia has Amazoness Pet Liger with Amazoness Fighter." Felix said as he analyzed the field. "Takato has Constellar Pleiades with Constellar Pollux and Constellar Hyades."
"Luckily, Pleiades doesn't have any overlay units left." Cindy said. "All Sylvia has to do is figure out a way around those monsters."
"And it looks like she's got something planned." Sylvia said.
"Time to end this, buddy!" Sylvia said. "I'm activating Polymerization! Thanks to this spell, I'm fusing together my Amazoness Pet Liger with Amazoness Fighter!" She said as she began fusing her two monsters together. "I fusion summon the greatest amazon of all time! Amazoness Augusta!" Sylvia summoned out a new and mighty amazon warrior that wielded a mighty blade and everything about this warrior's appearance said she looked fierce and powerful. Especially when she arrived on the field with 3200atk points.
"Check out Sylvia's new amazon!" Cindy said as they were all amazed with her new monster.
"There's a woman you wouldn't want to make mad." Kent claimed.
"I activate Augusta's ability!" Sylvia said. "Once she's fusion summoned, I can summon out an Amazoness from my deck! I'm bringing out Amazoness Paladin! She gains 100atk points for all Amazoness on the field!" She said as she summoned out with 1700atk points and it rose to 1900. "It's all over for you now! Attack!" She had her paladin and Augusta attacked Hyades and Pollux." Both of her monsters attacked and dealt some damage to Takato with his life points dropping down to 500. "I almost have you."
"True, but you don't. It's in the stars that I win. I activate my Wonder Xyz trap!" Takato said. "This allows me to xyz summon!"
"But the only monster you have is Pleiades!" Sylvia said.
"And that's all I need for this monster allows me to use a fellow Constellar xyz monster." Takato said. The overlay network was built as Pleiades dived inside. "I xyz summon Constellar Ptolemy M7!" He summoned out a new monster with it resembling a dragon with 2700atk points.
"But even that won't help you. For now, I end my turn." Sylvia said.
"I'm afraid this duel is over." Takato said as he drew his next card. "I use Ptolemy M7's ability to return Augusta to your hand!" He said as his dragon used an overlay unit and sent Augusta back to Sylvia's deck and weakened her paladin. "Ptolemy M7, attack her Paladin and end this!" His monster attacked by unleashed a dazzling blast of yellow light and blasted Sylvia and her only monster. That resulted in the last of Sylvia's life points dropping down to zero.
"It's over and done! Takato wins!" M.C. announced. It was right then that Yukina noticed something on the screen about Takato.
"Look up there!" Yukina said as she was shocked to see it.
"The Black Ace's mark!" Felix said as they all now realized that Takato is a member as well.
"Not you too, Takato." Yukina said as she couldn't understand why Takato would join them.
"Well, perhaps we did recruit some talent after all." Diego claimed, but he was more excited about what's to come. "It won't be long now. Soon, the real fun will begin."

Sylvia
After her defeat, there wasn't much more Sylvia could do. She was aiming to win, but was eliminated in the first round. That surely stings, but all she can do now is sit out and watch her friends win.
"Sylvia!" Yukina called as she and the others regrouped with her.
"Sorry, guys. I understand how important it is to beat them, but I couldn't beat someone from the Black Ace." Sylvia said.
"Don't be so hard on yourself. None of us were aware that Takato was a member of the Black Ace until now." Felix said.
"I can't understand why someone like him would join those creeps." Yukina said.
"We'll deal with that when the time comes." Felix said. "For now, it's my turn." He said as he went out for his duel against Tanya. "My opponent might not be a member of the Black Ace, but I'm not going to lose here."

The Duel
It was now Felix's turn in the tournament. His gladiator beasts went up against Tanya's graceful ballerinas. It was like ferocious warriors going against elegant dancers. As of right now, it seemed like an even fight. Felix had his Gladiator Beast Laquari at 1800atk points and Gladiator Beast Augustus at 2500 on his field while Tanya only had Cyber Tutu on her field, but Tanya was still able to hold her own.
"This duel between Felix and Tanya has been quite a fun one. Despite Tanya's dancers looking delicate compared to Felix's gladiators, she's been kicking away Felix's life points." M.C. announced.
"It's my turn!" Tanya said as she drew her next card. "Lovely. I tribute Cyber Tutu to summon Cyber Prima!" Tanya said as she tributed her dancer and brought out Cyber Prima with 2300atk points. "I believe now is the time I attack you Gladiator Beast Laquari!"
"I don't think so! I activate Threating Roar!" Felix said as he activated his trap and it unleashed a roar-like sound. "Sorry, Tanya! This trap prevents you from attacking this turn!"
"So be it, but that does not mean you will win. I place one face-down and that ends my turn." Tanya said. 'All will be fine. Once I activate Mirror Force, this duel shall be mine.' She thought.
'She's planning something. Either that, or she knows how to keep her cool.' Felix thought. 'If I'm right, there's only one monster that might be able to help me now.' "My turn!" He drew his next card and it was just the Gladiator Beast he needs. "I'll tribute Gladiator Beast Laquari to summon Gladiator Beast Spartacus!" He said as he traded away one monster and another appeared with 2200atk points. "Now that I have two level five Gladiator Beasts, I'll fuse these two together!" He claimed as Spartacus and Alexander merged together. "I fusion summon Gladiator Beast Tamer Editor!" Felix brought out a new monster himself with it appearing to be a deer warrior with 2400atk points. "Next, I activate Tamer Editor's ability! I free to special summon another Gladiator Beast fusion monster! Rise from the dark, Gladiator Beast Nerokius!" Felix summoned out another gladiator with it being a giant humanoid bat with 2800atk points.
"There's so something you don't want to bump against in the middle of the night."
"I'm also going to activate Gladiator Beast Battle Halberd!" Felix said as Nerokius was given a halberd. "One other thing I should mention. When Nerokius attacks, you can't activate any of your cards."
"I can't?!" Tanya said as that might be a problem for her.
"Nerokius, strike down her Cyber Prima with all your might!" Felix ordered. Nerokius lifted the halberd and twirled it around to swing it down in a powerful strike. It slashed against Tanya's monster and destroyed it with Tanya's life points dropping to 1500. "That activates Battle Halberd! I can now destroy your face-down!" Nerokius swung the halberd and destroyed her only defense now. "That means it's safe for Tamer Editor to attack you directly and end this!" Tamer Editor's weapon stretched out and it lashed against Tanya with her life points dropping to zero.
"It's over! Felix wins!" M.C. announced.
"Way to go, Felix!" Yukina cheered with the crowd.
"Tanya, thanks for the duel. It was a good one." Felix said.
"It was. I just wish I could have shined more. Thank you for the duel." Tanya said as they ended theirs in a more respectable manner. As the fifth duel ended, Diego took a look at the progress that has been made.
"It seems that Yukina and her friends are doing rather well." Diego said, but the progress doesn't seem to bother him. "Just wait until they see how truly horrible we can be. You're opponent will be Hana. Wait until they see what you can do." He said as he referred to the mysterious duelist named Hebi. This duelist had slick red hair with his bangs covering his eyes. He wore a green scaly top with jeans and boots. Just who is this mysterious duelist and why is it Diego is fascinated with him?
