Chapter 6
Back at the domain…
"HUH?"
"What?"
"Where did Uba go? I wanted to poke fun at him some more!"
Suguru sighed, despite himself changing for the better, he can't quite see his best friend has done the same. Stranger still, the more he's around Satoru, the more he is starting to see Chusi's perspective as to why she wants him to at least try and be a second husband for Yua.
However, he quickly reminded himself that she was not the least bit interested in him.
"Why pick on Sukuna, you have better things to do don't you? Like, I don't know, spend time with your kids?" Suguru said offhandedly.
Satoru ho humed the notion. "Look, my kids have been growing up without me. I can't help Shin since his method and technique are different from mine. Rook has heavenly restrictions and is learning from Toji and Maki. Mochi… I have NO idea where she goes off to. If she is trying to convince Nanami again…"
"Then perhaps spending time with them would be better. If you don't know where your kids are then what kind of father are you?!" Suguru demanded.
"HEY!"
"He's not wrong,"
Suguru smirked a little as Satoru's smile vanished.
Chusi had entered the debate and needless to say, it won't end well for Satoru. In fact, she peered at Suguru oddly. "Do you know where they are Geto?" she asked.
"Shin is with Rook, despite not having heavenly restrictions he is learning hand to hand combat just to have on hand. Mochi has been with Nanami but today, I do believe she is in the kitchen since she asked for cooking lessons."
There was a huge burst of fire that came out of the kitchen, followed by a meek. "Sorry!" from Mochi.
"Yep, she's in the kitchen," Suguru said with confidence.
"See, kids are fine!"
Chusi glared at him. "How is it that he knows where YOUR children are and you don't?"
Satoru was getting pissed. "At least I HAVE kids!" erupted out of him.
The place went dead silent.
Suguru prayed silently. "Go with Buddha Satoru"
However, he was concerned as to how calm... and yet angry Chusi was. "Indeed you do, too bad you don't appreciate them." And walked off shortly after.
Still, no one spoke when she left. Gojo felt rather proud that he managed to get her to leave rather than the other way.
Suguru on the other hand knew that something BAD is going to be coming down the pipe for his friend, Chusi won't take that comment lying down either. So, he quickly escorted Satoru out of the dining hall and got some distance. "You really stepped in it you know." He said.
"What? She's always on my case about petty things!"
"That's because she has a point to make, and it's the same damn one that not even YOU are picking up on!" Suguru snapped back.
Satoru paused oddly. "You've changed." He said bluntly.
"No shit,"
"Seriously, you've changed, but… in a good way… even your energy…"
"What about it?"
Satoru took his blindfold off and stared, in fact, his eyes went all over the place oddly enough, but, he looked confused. "Uh… how do I explain this…" his eyes kept going all over the place. "The way it gathers around you… it almost looks like constellations…"
He paused to this, curse energy gathers around him… like that?
"Okay, let's change the subject here. Satoru, you really should be careful with what you say around Chusi. I know she's doesn't like you…"
"Damn right, she doesn't even get to know me."
"Are you even here for her to do so?"
There came a pause.
Satoru considered his answer carefully, since after all. If he hasn't been here to help Yua, what makes him think he had the opportunity for Chusi to get to know him? At the same time, she already made up her mind about him since he is from the three great families.
"I'll be careful around here, just… let me have my fun okay? I want to go pester Sukie some more!"
Suguru froze. Sukie? He's calling Sukuna… Sukie?
"I hope she never finds out that you are calling him that…"
Gojo however didn't see the concern, he waved goodbye to Suguru and was on his way. Suguru has been trying to be the buffer as of late. He knows Sukuna is not in a good mood, in fact, the King of Curses… is upset for doing more harm than good in his mind for Toshi. Second, Chusi has been desperate to start a family and yet…
"I shouldn't get involved, at the same time… I want to thank her for helping me…" Suguru muttered.
"Geto?"
He turned and saw Yua lingering near by. "Oh… hey…"
The odd thing was, she peered at him oddly. "Something is different about you," she said offhandedly. "I can't put my finger on it but you look… lighter in a sense. Does that sound weird?"
He snickered. "Not in the least bit… I should warn you, Gojo has…"
"Chusi already told me," she said bluntly, but shook her head in disappointment. "I ought to beat a lesson into him, but she is insisting on taking care of it herself. So, I am going to let her do what she feels is just"
He got a chill from that.
"Yua… are you certain…"
She nodded, her mind was already made up on the matter. "I don't appreciate how Satoru thinks that if he helps others, it give him a pass in helping me with the children. At the same time, I know he is trying to assist his students… but his own children terrify him."
Suguru froze. "What?"
She nodded. "Look at Shin, has a similar ability to him and yet… he can't understand his son's way of using six eyes, Shin is working on limitless now, however it's stressful on his body since he has to use the eyes on his back. Rook has heavenly restriction, besides hand to hand combat, Gojo won't know what to teach him. Mochi… she has fire… Gojo doesn't and feels he's not the right one to train her. In other words, his children scare him."
He took a moment to think it over, and Yua was right! Satoru's kids are on a different level now, since, their mother is just as powerful as him.
"If you want help…" he began to say.
Yua smiled. "You are very kind to offer your help, you have done so many times over without me asking. Suguru… thank you." She said with great sincerity.
He nodded back to her. "Any time, it's not like I am doing much around here… besides having Chusi kick my ass…"
She giggled to that, but paused. "Why is she?"
He froze once more. He didn't want to say she was training him to be her second husband, at the same time, should he lie about it? "Uh…"
Yua merely smiled. "She isn't giving up on that notion huh? Don't worry, I don't hold it against you Geto." She said and gently patted his shoulder. "Take care,"
As she walked away, Suguru felt his heart skip a beat. Was he really developing feelings for her? Then again, his heart won't stop racing…
