Season 5 Episode 2: Big Truck Pups Stop A Sliding Chalet! Humdinger's Return And A Bulldog's Blossoming Feelings!
September 3rd, 2030
"Y'know, Everest, this beachy vacation is exactly what we need!" Jake remarked as he spread his arms out.
"I know! I can't wait until we get there!" Everest exclaimed.
"Me either!" Marshall giggled as he stood there in his beach floatie.
The other pups all snickered as Marshall's tail wagged, he looked a little bit silly with that on. "We're gonna miss you, Marshall." Chase sighed as he watched his spotted sibling smile.
"Yeah, it just won't be the same without you." Skye commented. "I'll miss you guys!" Marshall sniffled, a little teary.
"Yeah, but it's a good idea to take a vacation, dude. We definitely could use one, but we can't all go at the same time, cuz what if Adventure Bay needs us?" Zuma chuckled.
"I know… and that's why I'm going on one with Everest and Jake. Chase can wear my pup pack and do my duties if he needs to, though!" Marshall happily said.
"You got it, but I doubt there'll be any fires to fight." Chase replied.
"A vacation to the beach… sounds romantic…" Rubble thought out loud.
"Yeah, I bet you would wanna take Al to the beach!" Rocky teased, earning giggles from everyone present except Everest and Jake.
"Al? Who's Al?" Everest questioned.
"Al is our newest member, he was the truck driver that helped in the Battle of Barkingburg. Hopefully you'll get to meet him soon!" Ben revealed.
"Won't you miss your cabin and snowy mountain?" Ryder inquired.
"We will miss it a little, but… there's a gnarly ice storm coming into town today, so it's good to get away now! It's unusual to have weather like that this early into fall." Jake explained.
"The forecast is so bad that Jake preemptively closed the ski run and the lift until the storm is gone! Thankfully, we found someone to house sit our cabin." Everest added.
"Oh, you found someone to house sit? Who?" Ryder inquired.
Jake laughed a little. "Funny you should ask… it's actually…" Everest's owner started to say, but he was interrupted by a loud horn honk.
"I'd know that horn anywhere… AL!" Rubble howled excitedly as the truck parked in front of City Hall. Al was driving a slightly different truck- it wasn't a transforming one, just a regular one.
"Hey! You're Jake, right? I got your suitcases right here!" Al exclaimed.
"Oh, a pup?! Neat!" Jake remarked as he started to unload their belongings from the truck to take onto the train.
"Hi! You're Al? Nice to meet you! I'm Everest!" The Siberian Husky greeted him.
"Howdy, good buddy! Yup, I'm Al! Just a helpful trucker! The basset hound introduced himself.
"Hi Al!" Rubble shouted, running up and tackling his friend, peppering him with slurps.
"Hee hee, hey, that tickles!" Al squealed, turning red as a tomato. The two of them stared into each other's eyes before Ben lifted the chubby bulldog off of their newest member. "Well, this has been fun, everyone, but I gotta get back to the truck stop to charge up my truck!" Al told them.
"Aww… but you just got here!" Rubble whimpered.
"I'll see you real soon, don't worry, good puppy!" Al reassured his friend, and Rubble blushed madly as Al gave him an affectionate lick before hopping back in his truck and riding away.
"See? Total crush." Ben teased.
As Jake, Everest, and Marshall rode the train out of town, they yelled their goodbyes. "Later dudes and dudettes!" Jake shouted.
"Call you when we get there!" Everest promised.
"I LOVE YOU GUYS ALL THE WAY TO THE MOON AND BACK!" Marshall screamed to his team members at the top of his lungs. Then he looked at Everest and gave her a kiss on the snout. "And I love you all the way to the moon and back too, my snow queen!" Marshall giggled.
"Aww!" Everest gushed.
While all that was happening…
"I can't believe I'm getting paid to pup sit and house sit! This is the best weekend I've had since I got out of prison!" Henry Humdinger cackled as he climbed up the mountain, carrying a ton of stuff in his arms.
"I can't believe Mayor Momway agreed to let you look after us for the weekend." Gasket snorted as she walked up the mountain with the mayor, his six kittens, and her brother Dwayne. The Great Dane stood up on his hind legs and opened up the door to Jake's cabin, allowing the former criminal to get inside and set his stuff down. "This is going to be so boring. I mean, what is there to do on a cold, old mountain like this?" Gasket complained as she flopped onto her back and laid there on the wooden floor of the cabin.
Mayor Humdinger grimaced and looked around… there really wasn't a lot of stuff for those young pups to do. At least the kittens were content with lazing about, but Genevieve had asked him to keep Gasket and Dwayne entertained and active. He flipped through the notes that Mayor Goodway had given him. "Hm, uh, let's see… she wrote that you two like extreme sports… oh! Who wants to hit the slopes?!" Mayor Humdinger offered.
This made Gasket's ears perk up. "You mean snowboarding?! I AM IN!" Gasket cheered, leaping to her feet and getting ready to go. She saw a snowboard that was… pretty much exactly her size. "Well, what do you know? This is a perfect fit!" Gasket remarked as she got her paws into the snowboard.
Dwayne waddled over and sniffed it. "It even kind of smells like you, Gasket! But nicer!" Dwayne commented.
"HEY! I DO NOT SMELL!" Gasket protested.
"Uhh, sure you don't, sis! …That much…" Dwayne replied, though he whispered that last part.
After turning on the fire and leaving Dwayne behind to play and cuddle with the kittens, Gasket and Humdinger rode down the slopes of the mountain on their snowboards. "Look at me shredding this mountain! That's what the cool snowboarders say, right? Shredding?" Humdinger exclaimed as he held his arms out as his board traveled down the mountain.
"Yeah, you're not too bad at it, old man!" Gasket complimented as she snowboarded after him.
Unfortunately, he lost control of his balance and slid right into a snow pile. "Brr… now I want to warm up by the fire!" Mayor Humdinger complained.
"Let's take the ski lift, then!" Gasket suggested. The two of them trudged over to the ski lift and sat on it. "Hello? Anyone here? Going up!" Gasket growled. "Oh yeah, there's no one here, Gasket. I forgot that for a second. Jake and Everest are on vacation." Humdinger remembered.
"Great. Now I have to walk up the mountain." Gasket groaned as she started to head back to the cabin.
"You know, you're right. The warm place is at the top of the mountain. It should be down here with us!" Humdinger remarked.
Gasket tilted her head in thought as she considered this. "Maybe it can come down here! Come on, mister mayor! I just got a great idea!" Gasket exclaimed as she started to run up the mountain. Under her advice, Humdinger set several snowboards up underneath the cabin with her help. "There, we did it. Now we can snowboard and enjoy the cozy chalet!" Gasket snickered.
Humdinger gazed at the snowboards anxiously. "I'm not too sure about this, Gasket. This doesn't seem very safe…" Humdinger mumbled.
"Oh, shush, you're starting to sound like Dwayne." Gasket grumbled as she leaned against the side of the cabin exterior, and then it started to slide down the hill.
Humdinger and the husky ran after it, managing to get inside the cabin. "Uhh… Gasket, did you do a bad thing?" Dwayne asked as the kittens all huddled around him in fear. Gasket glared at him while the cabin began to pick up speed. "That's it, I'm calling the PAW Patrol." Humdinger sighed as he pulled out his phone.
Ryder pulled out the pup pad as it rang, taking the call and becoming shocked as he saw that the caller was none other than Mayor Humdinger. "MAYOR HUMDINGER!? I thought you were in Adventure City prison!" Ryder gasped.
"I'm on parole! Listen, I'm in a bit of a snowy situation! I was house sitting Jake's cabin-!" Humdinger started to say.
Ben snorted in response. "Jake and Everest had you house sit for them?" Ben scoffed.
"Yes! And Genevieve is having me pup sit her two dogs. Anyways, her husky had a stupid idea, we put snowboards underneath Jake's cabin, and now we're sliding down the mountain! Please help!" Humdinger yelped.
"That's a heavy load for sure… to stop it, we're gonna need big truck power. No sliding chalet is too big, no trucker pup is too small!" Ryder declared.
"Big trouble calls for big trucks! Rescue Force, to the Big Truck HQ!" Ben cried out, and the team all headed to their new base.
The team went into a garage-style area, which then produced chairs. Each canine took a seat as the garage lifted up into a control room style section. Halfway through the lift, the team became dressed in trucker gear, complete with their own minijack pup packs. "Big Truck Pups ready for action, Ryder, sir!" Chase announced.
"Thanks for hurrying, pups! Somehow, Mayor Humdinger has been let out of prison on parole, and right now he's sliding down the mountain with Gasket, Dwayne, and his kittens, in Jake's chalet!" Ryder revealed.
"Woah. A snowboarding house? That is not cool, dude!" Zuma exclaimed. Everyone looked at him and giggled. "Hey, since our jokester brother is gone, someone's gotta pick up pun duty in his stead!" Zuma chuckled, referring to Marshall being on vacation.
"Yeah, and we've got to stop it before the house or anyone inside it gets hurt! For this mission we need the following pups: Rubble, you'll use your big truck to dig a path in the snow to guide the chalet away from everything. Skye, your job is going to be relocating any animals that are in the path of the sliding cabin. Al, everyone's going to be relying on you to help guide them, since we're going to be going on some seriously icy roads, and you've got the most experience out of everyone with trucking on that kind of terrain." Ryder instructed.
"Rubble on the big truck double!" Rubble exclaimed.
"This puppy's gonna fly and drive!" Skye yipped.
"Call on me for a ten thirty three! That means emergency!" Al barked enthusiastically.
"All right! Big Truck Pups… ROLL OUT!" Ryder yelled, and the team all deployed into their trucks as they drove up to the mountain.
As they stopped in on the snowy mountain, they saw the chalet sliding down the mountain, right for the ski lift.
"The ski lift is right in the path!" Ryder shouted.
"Uh oh! If it crashes, the whole ski lift could be knocked over!" Al whimpered.
Rubble was already setting to work on digging a path for the chalet away from the lift. "Good job taking the initiative, Rubble." Ben complimented as he watched the bulldog redirect the chalet's trajectory away from the ski lift.
"Snow problem, Ryder and Ben!" Rubble joked.
"Hee hee! That was really funny, Rubble! I like your sense of humor!" Al laughed.
"Your turn, Al! Go grab the chalet with your claw!" Ryder instructed.
"Ten four, good buddy! This ice road trucker is on his way to save the day!" Al exclaimed as he drove up to the chalet.
"ABOUT TIME YOU GOT HERE!" Gasket snarled out the window.
"Gasket, be nice! They're here to save us! But uh, please hurry and stop this thing!" Humdinger scolded her before pleading with Al to save them.
"I will, don't worry! Arf! Big truck deploy!" Al promised, before barking to activate his claw arm.
"HANG ON, MAYOR HUMDINGER!" Al yelled as he tried to grab the chalet's chimney but missed as the chalet picked up speed while sliding over a patch of ice.
The cabin slid into a tree that had a bear holding onto it, propelling the bear and launching it onto one of the ski lift chairs. "Skye, handle the bear before he falls, please." Ryder suggested as the PAW Patroller drove with Rubble's truck after Al.
"On it! Big truck deploy!" Skye exclaimed, her truck opening up to reveal a mini plane that she hopped into. Flying her jet over to the ski lift, she released her harness, latching it onto the bear and delivering it to safe ground. "Bear is secure and safe!" Skye reported.
"Breaker breaker! Big Truck Al calling Ryder! It's getting really bumpy and icy! Grabbing that house isn't gonna be easy!" Al anxiously said.
"You've got this, Al!" Rubble reassured his friend.
"Yeah, you're the best ice trucker I know!" Ryder agreed. As the chalet went over a ski jump, Al swerved to catch the falling house, and had to perform some fancy ice driving maneuvers to over take the house and snatch it out of the air. "I GOT IT! HONK HONK!" Al cheered as he set down the house on the ground.
"THANK YOU, I was so scared!" Humdinger sighed, kneeling in front of them.
"How'd you get out of prison, Mayor Humdinger?" Rubble questioned.
"I behaved well in the prison, appealed for parole, the judge sentenced me to do community work here in Adventure Bay. It's actually not that bad, I like this place much more than Adventure City." The top hat wearing man remarked.
"No cheers for me and Dwayne?! We were the ones shredding the mountain in a snowboarding house!" Gasket complained.
"Yeah, and it could have cost us our lives!" Mayor Humdinger huffed.
"Mayor Daddinger's got a point." Dwayne pointed out.
"Uh… wait, how are we going to get Jake's cabin back up the mountain?" Skye wondered.
"A cabin on ice and snow will be too much for one truck to tow alone!" Al answered.
"We'll do it as a team, then!" Ben declared, and the team tugged the wooden structure up the mountain.
They had a rough spot, but with some advice from Al, they were able to get it all to the top, and put Jake's cabin back in its rightful place. Jake called them as they set the furniture back in his home and made sure everything was okay. "Hey Ryder." Jake greeted them.
"How's your day going?" Marshall asked.
"Heh. Jake, your cabin took a little bit of a vacation itself… but everything's fine now." Ryder chuckled.
"Whenever things go downhill, yelp for help!" Ben added.
Rubble gazed at Al and sighed in thought. "Come on, go tell him how you feel!" Ben whispered words of encouragement to the construction pup.
"You're really okay with this?" Rubble wondered.
"Of course I am! I'm always gonna support my family. Now go!" Ben insisted, giving the bulldog a gentle push towards Al.
Rubble stomped up to Al. "Buddy? Are you feeling okay? You look more nervous than I did when I was given a full schedule of deliveries for a day with no time for a bathroom break!" Al worriedly said.
"DATE!" Rubble blurted out.
Al stepped backwards as Rubble covered his mouth. "You wanna know the date? It's September 3rd!" Al answered enthusiastically.
Rubble shook his head no. "N-no… I was asking if…" Rubble stammered.
"If what?" Al pressed.
"If you wanted to go out on a date… With me!" Rubble explained.
Al's jaw dropped, flabbergasted. "Y-Y-You want to go out on a date with ME?!" Al squealed. Rubble nodded his head and got tackled by the basset hound. "I'd love to! That sounds like so much fun!" Al exclaimed.
