Luna's P.O.V.

We recently got home. It was August 12, my little sister's birthday. Luke went to his room as he was pretty tired and stressed out and just not in the mood to celebrate.

I began to head to my room, where Luan was waiting.

"Hey, sis, welcome back!" Luan says.

"Thanks." I say as my thoughts began to wonder about Luke.

Luke's P.O.V.

I was in my room, laying on my bed. My thoughts raced like the cars at the Indianapolis 500.

I thought about my upcoming 8th grade year and my 14th birthday. When it came to my 8th grade year, all I could feel about that was nervous. I already knew that it would be crazy.

As for the thoughts about my birthday, I wondered what it would be like this year. The one thing that made my birthday awful at one point last year was Lucy mind-controlling everyone. That was creepy and unsettling and an invasion of my personal space.

Angry Luigi sighed, once again alone.

"Well, I guess it was fun having a friend for once." Angry Luigi says.

"I'm sure he's still going to be your friend. He didn't sound like he was joking when he said he was your friend." Skylia says.

"That's what Jason said before nearly blasting my head off." Angry Luigi says.

"Oh, yeah. Luke was totally using you for an extra half-birthday gift." Alem tuber says with sarcasm.

Soon, Lisa's birthday party was on. But Luke had gone to Garrett's house for a sleepover, so he wasn't going to be in attendance.

He never really liked attending most birthday parties unless they were for any of his friends, Luna, Luan, Lincoln, or sometimes Lucy if she wanted to celebrate.

There was food and gifts. And a science-themed cake.

Lisa smiled as she opened her gifts.

She opened Luke's gift first. It was a nice microscope.

She smiled and opened more gifts.

At Garrett's house, Luke was playing the Animal Crossing New Horizons version of Monopoly with Garrett in his living room after the two of them went for a swim in Garrett's pool and got into dry clothes after bathing.

"So…who are you inviting to your end-of-summer party?" Garrett asked Luke.

Luke thinks for a moment.

"My friends." Luke says.

"Even me?" Garrett asked. Luke nods.

"Awesome!" Garrett says. "Are you hosting it at your house or a local water park?"

Luke thought and nodded. "I did the Wild Rapids water park last year. This year, I'm thinking big!" He says.

"Which one? Which one?" Garrett asked, excited.

"Poseidon's Paradise!" Luke says. Garrett squealed.

"I love that waterpark! It's so big and you can't do all their slides in one day because there's like, SO MANY!" Garrett grinned. "They even have a new slide this year!"

Luke's eyes widened with excitement.

Beau came to Lisa's party with a gift.

"Hi, Beau." Lisa says with a smile.

"Hey, Lis." Beau says, offering his gift. Lisa opens it to reveal a peridot necklace.

"It's your birthstone…do you like it?" Beau asked.

"I love it!" Lisa says and kisses Beau.

Lucy thinks of Tabby. She usually hosts a beginning of the year party to start the school year off. But then she thinks of the day of that party.

She had gotten the invitation yesterday. She read the date of that party and saw it was the same day as Luke's end-of-summer party at Poseidon's Paradise.

Lucy froze. She needed to talk to Tabby. She saw Tabby in her front yard as she just lived across the street.

"Tabby!" Lucy says.

"Hey, love." Tabby says as Lucy blushes. Lucy then looks at her.

"Tabby, your party is on the same day as Luke's party. Could you please move the date?" Lucy asked

"Okay. I can do that." Tabby says.

"Tabby, do you…um…want to go out with me tomorrow?' Lucy asked, blushing.

Tabby nods. "Wait…you like like me?' Tabby asked.

Lucy blushed and nodded.

"You mean it?" Tabby says as Lucy got even shyer about this.

"Y-Yes…" Lucy says.

"Really?" Tabby asked teasingly. Lucy blushed.

"Please stop." Lucy says.

Meanwhile, Lisa got ready to show her stuff, but Luna had already brought out the piñata.

Lisa looked frustrated and walked out of the party. But Charity had stopped her before she left the house.

"Honey, you know you showed your guests your stuff 45 minutes ago." Charity says as she showed Lisa the video footage she recorded with her phone.

"Oh, yeah…" Lisa says.

"Now will you enjoy the rest of your party?" Charity says. "We're going to have cake soon."

Lisa nodded and went inside to break open her piñata.

With Luke, he was working on his end-of-summer party plans with Garrett.

"I don't want my siblings ruining it like they tried to last year." Luke says.

Garrett nods. "I remember when they tried to make it look like a party for Lisa…" He says, shaking his head in disbelief. "Selfish…"

"They always want to steal my days…" Luke says. "They're so selfish! Honestly!" Luke cries.

When Charity got word of this, she was very angry.

"So none of you loved Luke. You ruined his end-of-summer party last year just to give Lisa a party she never wanted." Charity says. "Then used mind control last year, making him extremely uncomfortable. I know some of you mean well, but you kids are really just trying to make him more and more upset, despite all he's been through."

Lucy sniffed. She still regrets everything.

"I didn't mean to hurt Luke…" Luna says.

Lucy was on the verge of crying as she tears up.

"You kids need to do better." Charity says. "Lisa, as soon as we cut your cake, send all your guests home. That's an order."

Lisa nods.

After having the cake, the guests went home.

Luna was feeling more and more guilty. She swore that things would change. And she wanted that to happen immediately. She wanted new rules among other things.

She wasn't letting Luke suffer anymore. Not if she could help it.
