Chapter 28 - Ready To Rumble
The Grand Magic Games
The Grand Magic Games are finally here! Fairy Tail was very energetic and optimistic about their odds. Even the very first guild master, Mavis Vermillion was here… as a ghost!
Wait, what? A ghost?
"Master Mavis! What are you doing here!?" Makarov asked.
Mavis' ghost merely smiled in response, "I wouldn't miss the chance to cheer on my guild, obviously." she answered.
"How are you here!? You're deceased!" Makarov answered.
"Does it matter?" Mavis asked.
"Yes!" everyone answered.
"Old spirit spirit, move on. Move onto the gates of the Duat." Asuka said as she waved a feather around.
Bisca and Alzack looked concerned by what their daughter had said.
"Asuka-chan, what are you doing?" Bisca asked.
"Helping the ghost lady go to the afterlife so she can rest." Asuka said.
"Where did you get those words from?" Alzack asked.
"I heard it from the pharaoh man." Asuka answered as she referred to Ozymandias.
The parents sweat dropped, "What exactly did you hear from them?" Alzack asked.
Suddenly Levy spoke up, "I don't know if this is a bad time to mention this, but the Duat is the gateway to the Egyptian underworld." she said.
"Be free spirit, rest in peace!" Asuka said, scaring Mavis.
"Hey wait!" Mavis said as she panicked.
"Levy do something! Asuka-chan is exorcising Master Mavis!" Makarov shouted.
"It shouldn't be anything harmful. In fact, Asuka isn't a priestess and I doubt Master Mavis is not Egyptian." Levy said, making everyone sigh in relief.
Although now Mavis was looking fearful as she thinks she can see a man with the head of a jackal glaring at her.
Meanwhile, with Fairy Tail Team A
Everyone was suited up in their custom purple team uniforms. If they were going to participate in a competition, then they were going to do in style. Except for Gray, he had to wear the sweater that Juvia made for him. Most likely due to her concerns of Gray being half naked all of the time.
"As much as I hate to admit it, you're a good man Gray. Such a kind and considerate man that's proud to wear his wife's gifts." Natsu said in a mocking tone.
"What did you say Natsu? It sounds like you want me to knock your ass out before the games." Gray said.
"I'm just complimenting the sweater. Juvia is such a considerate person." Natsu said, further mocking Gray.
"That's kind of you to say Natsu. If only Gray was more thankful of his spouse." Erza said, not realizing that Natsu was messing with Gray.
"Are you taking his side!?" Gray asked.
"Guys be quiet, we're about to go on." Lucy said as she listened to the names.
"And if that's not surprising enough! Here comes the eighth and final team!" the voice of the host, Chapati Lola.
Natsu smirked, "Then let's go!" He said as he lead the way.
The games decided to take a backwards approach for introducing the individual guilds. So first place would be presented last while eighth place would be presented first. Whatever the reason for this decision is, Fairy Tail Team A would find themselves blinded by the bright sun in the sky and deafened by the loud cheers of the crowd in the colosseum. It was a beautiful sight and from there, the team could see all seven other teams that qualified it to the tournament.
Of course, Fairy Tail Team B was there as they arrived shortly after Team A did. Thanks to Lucy managing to figure out how to fly Gilgamesh's Vimana without getting everyone killed. Alongside them were Lyon's team from Lamia Scale, who were more than ready to obtain second place again. Then there was the all women's guild from Mermaid Heel, Quatro Cerberus, Blue Pegasus, and the arrogant team from Sabertooth who has won first place for several years in a row.
But what was more shocking was that a team made by Makarov's son was here. Ivan Dreyar is a despicable man who earned himself a lot of infamy to the point he was even considered a dark mage. His whole team, Raven Tail, was called a dark guild but as of recent events. They were some how cleared up and allowed to participate in the games much to everyone's frustration.
"They let those jerks in!?" Gray asked.
"Who?" Wendy asked.
"Raven Tail, they are a bunch of criminal and scum and were formed by the master's son after he got kicked out." Gray explained.
"The fact that they are allowed to participate is disgraceful." Erza said as she spotted Ivan watching them from the crowd.
"But why would the master kick out his own son? He's a family man." Wendy asked.
Lucy put a hand on Wendy's shoulder, "Wendy, hush now. There are some things you shouldn't ask." she said. "The master has a weak heart, so it must be something really bad that not a lot of people want to talk about." she said.
Wendy had to settle with what Lucy told her as not even her senior knew much. The only thing Lucy knew was that Ivan forced Laxus to have a dragon lacrima installed inside of his body. Makarov brought it up some time after he was forced to banish Laxus and even considered leaving as well. However, Makarov decided to stay after the guild begged him to stay and told him that Laxus' actions were not his own fault. Which is when Makarov mentioned the issue involving his lacrima.
What makes it worse is the fact that Laxus was born frail and was relatively weak in his childhood. Not sickly weak, but nowhere near the potential of a wizard like Natsu, Gray and Erza in that period. So the operation would have been life threatening and could have killed young Laxus.
It's funny how Laxus forgot about his roots and saw to it that anyone he deemed weak deserved to be kicked out of the guild. Another detail to mention is Ivan wouldn't even be prideful enough to lie about loving Laxus. Ivan only understood greed and avarice, it's safe to say that Laxus already understands this and learned from his brief exile. If not, there's always Lucy's darker half who would be more than willing to motivate him.
"Everyone please pay close attention, the rules of the games will go like this, kabo." said the mascot of the Grand Magic Games announced. That's when a giant stone tablet was raised in the air, "The games will be broken into two rounds for each day. The first will be a challenge where all guilds will select one participant to represent them. The second will be a fighting round where the sponsors will make a selection. However, one wizard will not be participating twice, kabo." he explained.
This sounded a bit confusing, but every team paid close attention as these games were going to be difficult. Mato then went on to explain the second round involving the fights as he states that each challenge will be different.
"The guild who wins the most points will win the Grand Magic Games. However, points will vary by the outcome of the battle, kabo." Mato said as various lacrima presented a screen around the arena. Each screen presented visual cartoons to explain the rules, "10 points go the victory, 0 points go to the loser, but 5 points for both guilds in the event of a draw, kabo." he finished.
Everyone understood the scoring system and now had to wait for the official first round to begin. As Mato said earlier, each guild had to select one wizard to represent them. Then Chapati Lola alongside the former councilman, Yajima, would announce the participants of the first round. With that said, each team went back to their respective spots to decide on their representative.
A few minutes later
As the team captain, Erza made her decision, "We're going with Lucy." she said.
"Eh?" Lucy asked.
"Why Lucy? I can do it!" Natsu yelled.
"You're only good for using fists, ash breath! The challenge won't always revolve around a fight!" Gray argued. "In fact, I think I could do it!" he said.
Erza shut them up with a glare, "We're winning with Lucy, she's the only one besides myself that can think things through!" she shouted as to leave no room for argument.
Leaving the boys feeling frustrated and Wendy feeling relieved as she didn't feel confident in going first. There's also the fact that Erza knew that there's no rule against celestial spirits being used during the competitions. So Lucy could use them and heroic spirits to make things difficult if necessary. Lucy didn't want to be picked first, but she didn't want to argue with Erza. She may have the will to stand her ground against the Titania, but only for a few seconds.
The woman is scary and isn't bullheaded like Natsu and Gray. There's also the fact that she's the strongest female wizard in the guild so there's no telling who will be picked to represent them during the fights.
"Fine, I'll be ready." Lucy said.
"Good luck Lucy! You can do it!" Wendy said, cheering on her friend.
Back in the arena
Having returned to arena with the other seven contestants, the announcers began to display everyone who would be participating this round.
Beth Vanderwood - Mermaid Heel
Eve Tearm - Blue Pegasus
Lucy Heartfilia - Fairy Tail
Juvia Lockser - Fairy Tail
Lyon Vastia - Lamia Scale
Null Pudding - Raven Tail
Rufus Lore - Sabertooth
Jäeger - Quatro Cerberus
Juvia sighed in relief, "Thank goodness it's only Lucy, I did not want to fight my beloved." she said.
"Is that a compliment?" Lucy asked with a confused look on her face.
"I cannot handle fighting the love of my life." Juvia replied.
Before Juvia can go on about her love for Gray as Lyon also appeared ready to say something. The whole arena was engulfed in a magic circle as an entire town had started to rise from the ground. The contestants were confused by the sudden action until a giant screen with Mato's face had appeared. The mascot then gave everyone an explanation of the rules.
"Greetings wizards! I hope you enjoyed Hide and Seek as children, because you will be playing a similar game. Only with your own clones, kabo!" Mato said as the town was suddenly filled with doppelgangers of the contestants. "The rules are simple, you will have to strike at any one of your fellow competitors. Doing so will grant you 1 point, however you will lose a point if another competitor strikes you or if you strike a clone. If you are struck, you will be teleported to another part of town and begin again after a 10 second timer. Points will go no lower than 0 and all types of magic are allowed to be used, kabo" he explained.
Lucy was glad that the rule about summoning of celestial spirits was allowed. However, that left her wondering if striking a celestial spirit or heroic spirit would still grant points to her opponents. If not, then that would definitely work as a great advantage as an Archer or Assassin would be a perfect threat for everyone else.
"The one with the highest score will gain 10 points for their guild! Second place will gain 8 points, third will gain 6 points and so on until last place gets no points!" Mato said, making the crowd roar in excitement.
With that said and done, everyone was suddenly teleported into random parts of the city. Lucy already felt tension building up as she could see the duplicates of various competitors surrounding her. As she didn't have a keen eye to notice any small discrepancies, she immediately called upon someone with good eyes.
"Atalanta, try finding a good vantage point." Lucy said as the Archer suddenly appeared beside her.
"Very well, try to stay inconspicuous." Atalanta said before entering astral mode.
"No need to worry about me." Lucy said as she also disappeared.
Elsewhere in town
Juvia was running around the town as quickly as possible, but not out urgency to find another wizard. In fact, she was running from another wizard and not for the fact that she wanted to avoid being hit. The wizard who was chasing her was Lyon and the idiot had no concept of rejection.
"Leave me alone! My heart belongs to another!" Juvia yelled as she tried using her water whip on Lyon.
Lyon blocked the attacks with his ice, "Juvia-san, my heart beats faster as I approach you! Please, let me in! I can do much better!" he promised.
"NO MEANS NO!" Juvia screamed. "My love cannot be bought by mere words!" she yelled.
"But my love eclipses all!" Lyon said as he came closer.
"I just met you and you are making me uncomfortable!" Juvia yelled before Lyon suddenly grabbed her from behind.
"Juvia-san, please just stop the fuss and look deep within your heart. I am your soulmate as you are mine." Lyon said as he was suddenly surrounded by a filter of roses.
"Unhand me! I am engaged!" Juvia yelled, shocking Lyon.
Lyon's face suddenly turned into a surprised look, "E-Engaged?" he asked. "Who has claimed you!?" he asked.
As Atalanta prepared to open fire on Lyon while he was exposed. Artemis suddenly appeared and filled Lyon with hundreds arrows. Only missing the spots that could have killed or paralyzed the man. It was then that Juvia was set free and Lyon collapsed to the ground here Artemis proceeded to stomp on his chest.
"Filthy animal! How dare you force yourself on a maiden!?" Artemis shouted with rage. "Especially one who is betrothed to another! Do you have nos hame!?" she asked.
"My heart beats for Juvia…" Lyon muttered.
Artemis proceeded to fire more arrows at Lyon from point blank range. She shot so many arrows at the ice mage that even Orion was paralyzed from fear. As not even he did anything to warrant being shot so many times the virgin goddess.
"It seems that Lucy Heartfilia's spirit has taken a great disliking towards Lyon Vastia. What do you two have to say about that?" Lola asked as he looked at his fellow commentator and guest commentator.
"Young Lyon can't seem to understand boundaries. It's very shameful to see that there are less and less gentlemen today." Yajima said with the shake of his head.
"He's gross, my boyfriend and his friends would never have hit on a girl that desperately. Especially one who's getting married, I feel sorry for Juvia-san." Jenny said with a sigh. "This scum should be disqualified." She said.
"Ouch, I wonder what his guild has to say." Lola said.
With Lamia Scale
The guild master of Lamia Scale, Ooba Babasaama, was looking angry as usual. Especially with how much Lyon screwed up by getting caught and being exposed in public.
"That idiot, not only are we always in second place, now our reputation is down the toilet." Ooba said with a big frown. "When he comes back, I'm making him spin real good!" she said as she used her magic to spin her guild members like a tornado.
Back to the city
While Artemis was frequently hunting Lyon every time he spawned back to the city. Lucy was avoiding Nullpudding who kept on trying attack her. Luckily, despite Nullpudding using a good tactic by hiding himself next to one of the doppelgangers, he was too eager too attack. His strikes were quick and he hid himself well, but Nullpudding didn't have the tools to counter Lucy's magic.
Lucy didn't have a good physique, but she did have ways to trap a little troll. Which is how she viewed Nullpudding.
"I got you this time!" Nullpudding said as he appeared right above Lucy.
"Perfect Cube!" Lucy yelled as she surrounded herself in a barrier.
Nullpudding hit the cube with a lot of force, but could not damage it. His magic involved the usage of spikes on his body similar to a pufferfish. However, those spikes weren't strong enough to puncture a hole in the barrier. Leaving him to try and run in order to attack again just as Lucy lowered her barrier.
"You can't hide for ever!" Nullpudding yelled as he hid himself.
"Absolute Cancel." Lucy said as she made the Nullpudding copies disappear.
Nullpudding laughed, "Girl, you destroyed a fake. So now you lose points." he said as he tried to strike her again.
"Random Ball!" Lucy shouts as she finally got a hit in. "I don't think so you cocky troll." she said as he disappeared.
True to Lucy's belief, she lost no points. The clones can't be destroyed without a penalty, but they also can't be moved and at the same time, there was no rule for banishing them. As there is no proof that Lucy did anything to harm the copies. Any wizard could have chosen to toss a copy across the town, but if they don't take any damage then there is no penalty.
Nullpudding realized that as he saw the score, 'Damn, this Holy Maiden is as dangerous as Master Ivan said. She's worse with those archers stalking around.' he thought.
Then much to Nullpudding's annoyance, he was faced with a wave of arrows. Of course, he managed to avoid them just in time while thinking he could use one of his doubles to trigger a penalty. However, it seemed like Atalanta was able to predict his moves. Which led to Nullpudding being inevitably caught and having to be spawned again in another part of the town.
"This is unfair!" Lyon yelled in the distance.
Along with his cries, came the sounds of many arrows piercing someone. There was no doubt that Artemis is likely chasing around Lyon for the rest of the game. The man should have learned the concept of rejection, just wait until he learns who Juvia is betrothed too. It won't matter much because Master Ooba is likely going to spin Lyon with her magic as punishment for losing.
With Rufus
Having been more subtle and safe, Sabertooth's masked wizard started making his way towards the highest building in town. With his plan to use the flashiest technique and obtain victory without being hit in the process. Rufus believed the challenge to be too easy for him, but already felt confident in his own abilities to achieve victory.
"I do not need to run around like a headless chicken. My memory will grant me a great victory." he said as he stood tall. He then watched as he saw every wizard's location, "How can they refer to these games as grand, when it's a childish game of Hide and Seek?" he asked.
At that point, everyone realized where Rufus was and that he hasn't been spotted anywhere in town. There's also the fact that he hasn't scored any points just yet. Now, as the man stood proud in his makeshift pedestal on the tower he stood, a bright red and gold magic circle flashed behind him.
That's when Atalanta fired a single arrow into the sky. Seconds later, the arrow came down and duplicated into a cluster of multiple arrows that destroyed the tower where Rufus stood. Only instead of stopping the attack, Rufus phased through the attack as if he were an illusion.
"He's a thought projection?" Eve asked.
Rufus chuckled in response to the attack, "I see you remember where I was, but not where I am." He said.
"I'm kicking his ass when I find the real Rufus!" Jager angrily said as he sprinted around the town.
Rufus shook his head, "There's no need hold off on my victory any longer." he said as his magic circle appeared again. "Memory Make: A Night of Falling Stars!" he said as several golden beams of light escaped his body.
Suddenly, the whole town looked like it was enveloped in darkness only to be illuminated by the lights of Rufus' magic. Giving a shining brilliance as every beam of light flew across the town. With each beam hitting one target no matter how quickly they moved, well almost every target.
Nullpudding put up the greatest fight as he used all of his speed to run away. Only to be hit in the back and crash into a wall before being forced to respawn again. However, there were two mages who successfully avoided the attack.
"Perfect Cube!" Lucy called out as she surrounded herself and Juvia with a magic barrier.
The barrier was hit by two golden beams meant for the two girls, creating a giant flash of light. However, just as Rufus felt confident in his early victory. He was surprised to see the Perfect Cube was gone but Lucy and Juvia looked undamaged.
"What? No one could escape or avoid my Memory Make!" Rufus said with surprise.
At that moment, Lucy summoned her wings and flew right after Rufus with Juvia following after her. Just as Rufus attempted to escape with another afterimage in his place. Lucy extended her hands as she saw Rufus trying to hide in the crowd of doppelgängers.
"Absolute Cancel!" Lucy yelled as every copy and afterimage disappeared. Then she spotted the real Rufus, "Ark!" she yelled only for her spell to move right past him.
"Good effort Ms. Heartfilia, but my Memory Make will prevent you from hitting me." Rufus said proudly.
"Magic Cancel." Lucy said as Rufus' afterimage spell was nullified.
"A negation spell? You don't see many wizards using those anymore." Rufus said with surprise.
"Water Cane!" Juvia yelled as she hit the surprised Rufus with a whip made of water.
Just as Rufus disappeared upon being hit. An alarm sound was heard over the entire town. Signaling the end of the challenge with everyone's names being presented on the leaderboard.

Juvia gave Lucy a sheepish smile, "Sorry Lucy, I wanted to score an extra point." she said.
"I already had enough anyways. It's fine Juvia." Lucy said, feeling fine that both Fairy Tail teams did very well.
Then Mato appeared on the monitor again, "Congratulations to Fairy Tail Team A and B along with Blue Pegasus. Sabertooth, you almost had this one in the bag but too bad, kabo." he said with excitement. "Now, please clear the arena for the second round of today's games!" he said.
The second round: Battles
The second round would be a standard fight between two guilds. The sponsors would select one member from each team to battle this round, but not someone who already participated in the challenge. As Mato made the announcements, Fairy Tail Team A would have to fight Raven Tail in some twisted sense of irony.
"It would only be a matter of time before we would have to deal with them." Erza said with disdain.
Lucy looked over towards the area where Raven Tail's team was waiting. There, she locked eyes with the red haired girl, Flare. Flare had these red eyes, red hair tied together into braids along with a red dress. However, it wasn't the strange color coding that bothered Lucy, it was the deranged smile that Flare had plastered on her face. The look that belonged to a serial murderer or a yandere.
"What are you looking at?" Flare asked from her point of view.
This made Lucy feel a bit nervous, but her darker half decided to jump out. For a couple of seconds, Lucy's eyes started glowing into a gold color and she flared her own creepy smile at Flare. In response, Flare kept her creepy smile up as she wasn't as to feel scared of dark Lucy or allured. Her thoughts were interrupted by both her teammates and Mato.
"Round one will be between Flare Corona and Gray Fullbuster, kabo!" Mato announced.
Natsu growled, "How come I don't get to fight!?" he yelled.
"Because they want to see some skill, obviously. You would bore everyone by fighting like an angry dog." Gray said.
"Ice princess, you are so lucky I don't want Miyu to be an orphan!" Natsu said as Gray waved him off.
Gray suddenly leaned closer to Lucy, "It also means Natsu won't cheat on you." he whispered.
Lucy slammed Gray's chest, "Gray you idiot, you're just trying to wake up my darker half!" she said.
As Gray left, Lucy could hear her darker half yelling threats at Natsu in regards to cheating on her. Lucy didn't like having a darker personality, especially one that was a yandere.
On the arena
With the arena cleared, Gray arrived to find Flare flashing her deranged smile. Gray kept his composure as he waited for Mato to begin the match..
"Are both fighters ready? Begin, kabo!" Mato announced.
"Ice Make: Spear!" Gray yelled as he thre a spear of ice directly at Flare.
Flare's hair suddenly came to life as it untied itself and grabbed the ice spear. With enough force, Flare's hair snapped the ice spear in half. Flare's hair suddenly combined and took on a new shape in the form of a wolf.
"Hair Shower: Wolf Fang." Flare said as the wolf made of hair chased after Gray.
Gray avoided the wolf's attempts to bite down on him. Being surprised by Flare's unique form of caster magic, Gray decided to test out the limits of Flare's hair. If it could come to life, then perhaps Flare will feel pain if he damages it.
"Ice Make: Dome!" Gray yelled as he surrounded himself in a dome of ice.
"You can't hide from me, pervy." Flare said as her wolf shaped hair attacked the dome.
"Pervy? Is everyone gonna mock me for… where did Juvia's sweater go?" Gray asked himself as he noticed he was shirtless.
As Gray suddenly found himself fearing the loss of his sweater. Flare's wolf bit down on the dome, when ice spikes suddenly popped out and stabbed her hair. Flare winced as she jumped back, forcing her to revert her hair back to a more normal form. Then at that moment, Gray's ice dome broke down and revealed Gray who was standing still.
Feeling overly eager, Flare extender hair at Gray in an attempt to bind him. Once she grabbed him, Gray transformed into an ice statue and shattered in Flare's grasp. Feeling confused, Flare never noticed her opponent jumping over Flare with his fist punching his hand.
"Ice Make: Prison!" Gray yelled as he trapped Flare inside of a cage made of ice.
Flare looked around in confusion before extending her hair and pulling on the bars. However, as she didn't have the strength to break open the ice cage. Flare revealed another ability of her magic as it started glowing the same color as magma from a volcano. That's when she surprised Gray with her ability to heat up her hair as she caused the entire cage to melt.
"Sorry pervy, you can't keep me locked up like that." Flare said before swinging her burning hair at him.
"Ice Make: Wall!" Gray yelled as he blocked the attacks.
The result of the rapid attacks caused a lot of steam to be released. Blinding the entire crowd from witnessing the battle between fire and ice.
In the stands
Asuka stared at the fight in amazement, "Gray is a super good fighter!" she said.
"Yeah, Gray isn't too smart but he's still pretty tough." Alzack said.
As the Connell family continued to watch the fight unfold. None of them including the Fairy Tail guild noticed some red hair digging through the floor under them. The hair started to rise from the ground where it originated and started to make it's way towards Akusa who was ignorant of it's presence.
Unknown to anyone at the moment, Flare had to rely on the same tactics that Ivan Dreyar would use. Tactics which are cowardly and pathetic to most people. Sadly for Flare, Natsu was already picking up the scent of the hair.
Maybe it's the type of conditioner Flare puts in her hair when she showers.
Back to the fight
Gray continued to counter the wild waves of fiery hair that Flare unleashed. Right now, he wouldn't mind having the haircutting skills of Lucy's celestial spirit, Cancer, right now.
"I guess you're everyone's favorite client at the salon." Gray quipped.
"That I am, Pervy." Flare said as she finally grabbed Gray.
Gray grunted as he felt his arms being burned, "That's it, I think I like short haired girls better." he said. "Or at least the ones that stick to one style, because this is ridiculous!" he exclaimed.
Suddenly, Flare lifted Gray up by his arms and made sure to keep his hands separated. As she didn't want to give Gray the chance to recover, Flare combined some strands of her hair together in the shape of Raven Tail's emblem. A second later, the emblem started to heat up like a piece of iron.
"Master Ivan wants Fairy Tail to know their days are over. Try not to cry, pervy. This hurts more than a tattoo." Flare said.
"What the hell!? You're branding me!? I'm already getting married! I don't want to belong to another woman!" Gray yelled.
Gray's reaction to Flare's threat briefly caught her off guard and even shocked the crowd. As everyone began to murmur while Juvia was mixed with love and concern.
"You leave my future husband alone you… you… dirty harlot!" Juvia yelled.
"Harlot? Me?" Flare asked with a confused look.
"What's this? Can it really be? Gray Fullbuster and Juvia Lockser are engaged!" Lola exclaimed.
"Aw young love, this type of devotion is rare. I can tell you that much." Yajima said with a chuckle.
"I'm not even in Fairy Tail, but now I want Gray to win! Love is the strongest emotion there is!" Jenny said as she teared up. "But it's so tragic! Gray and Juvia are both from the same guild, but they're technically enemies! Oh the horror!" she cried out.
As everyone was distracted by Gray's proclamation. The ice mage managed to combine his hands and started to freeze Flare's hair then breaking it with enough force. Once free, he slammed his hands onto the ground and froze the entire ground.
"Ice Make: Floor!" Gray yelled.
Flare was about to run before remembering that she dug her hair into a hole underground. As she attempted to think of a good solution, her legs were suddenly caught in the ice. Flare absentmindedly put her focus on trying to escape and never noticed Gray trying to finish her off.
"Ice Make: Hammer!" Gray yelled as he dropped a giant hammer on top of Flare.
The resulting drop caused Flare to hit the ground hard and as she struggled to get up. She felt a lot of fire building up in her hair, but it was not of her own. She looked over to where the Fairy Tail guild was spectating and saw Natsu set her hair on fire. Causing her plan to use Asuka as leverage to fall apart.
That's when she saw Gray standing over her, "Even Pervy wouldn't hit a lady, right?" she asked.
Gray sighed, "Fine if you want it like that. I'll let my fiancee deal with you." he said as he made a doppelgänger of Juvia with his ice. "You heard the lady, Ice Juvia." he said.
The ice copy of Juvia suddenly punched Flare with enough force to knock her unconscious.
"The winner is the Gentleman Gray Fullbuster, kabo!" Mato announced as Gray went back to his side.
"And let's give a round of applause for Gray's engagement!" Lola said as the crowd clapped loudly.
Gray groaned, "Why did I have to mention that?" He asked himself.
Much time later
The fights continued with Ren Akatsuki and Orga Nanagear scoring a victory in their respective guilds against Arania Webb and Warcry. Although Warcry may have been beaten too badly against Orga who seems to have overdone it. Now, the final match of the day was between Fairy Tail's Team B against Lamia Scale.
"The final round will be between Laxus Dreyar and Jura Neekis, kabo!" Mato announced.
Everyone was excited to see a wizard saint take the stage and fight in front of them. As Jura made his presence known, Laxus could be seen walking out of his area with Sakati Kintoki giving him a quick pep talk.
"Stay golden!" Sakati said as he held his fist out.
"I'll be golden or whatever." Laxus said before his fist met Sakati's.
With that, Sakati made his way back up with the rest of the guild. Several guild members were confused by why Laxus was suddenly well acquainted with the adoptive son on Minamoto no Raikou. However, whatever went on between them was going to be revealed during this fight.
Jura smiled as he saw Laxus as he heard great things about his strength. He knew about the young man being Makarov's grandson, but didn't believe his reputation was from being the grandson of a wizard saint. For now, Jura just wanted to test the younger man's skills. Laxus on the other hand looked focused as he knew he had to take Jura seriously.
Even though he knew that the wizard saints are no joke. His past self would have been too overconfident and tried to finish the battle as quickly as possible. Now, his defeat along with Lucy's dark side forced Laxus to be a lot more humble.
"Are both fighters ready? Begin, kabo!" Mato announced.
Hearing that, Laxus dashed straight towards Jura who stood his ground. Then in an instant, Laxus took a sharp turn away as Jura brought his hand down in a chopping motion. In the blink of an eye, Jura hit the ground with enough force to create a large tear in the earth. The next second, he raised his arms to the side to block a powerful kick from Laxus that made his skid to the side. Jura smiled as he turned to face Makarov's grandson.
"Your strength is impressive young Laxus. However, does it measure up enough to win?" Jura asked as he took another stance.
Laxus surrounded his body in lightning in response, "I'm no science expert, but I heard lightning can shatter earth." he said.
"It indeed is the stronger element. Of course, that depends on your magic output." Jura answered, proving he won't go down easy. He then extended his index and middle fingers at Laxus, "Iron Rock Fist!" he yelled as a rock in the shape of an arm went hurdling towards Laxus.
"Lightning Dragon's Breakdown Fist!" Laxus yelled as he charged his fist with enough lightning to counter the rock fist.
The two attacks collided and the impact made the entire battlefield shake as the stone arm exploded. When the dust cleared up from the attack, Laxus looked as if he were about collapse. He continued to stand his ground as he prepared for the oncoming onslaught. As Jura was surrounded by multiple large rocks that were floating around him.
"Supreme King Rock Crush!" Jura yelled as he sent waves of rocks at Laxus.
As the rocks came towards him, Laxus pulled out an axe similar to Kintoki's and started swinging at the incoming rocks. With great speed and strength, Laxus managed to break through every rock that came at him. Where he then ran towards Jura to level the playing field in a close quarters fight.
Once close enough, Laxus jumped high into the air and raised the axe over his head. He then surrounded the axe with his lightning magic as he tried to bring down the axe onto Jura. In response, the wizard saint brought out his khakkhara and managed to block the attack. However, this did hurt Jura as he felt the surging lightning hit his body. Seeing that Jura was temporarily paralyzed from the shock of his weapon, Laxus dealt a heavy kick that sent Jura flying backwards.
Jura quickly recovered and looked up to see find Laxus charging up his magic again. Seeing this, Jura raised a great amount of stone from the ground to shield himself from the incoming attack.
"Lightning Dragon's Roar!" Laxus roared as he unleashed a heavy torrent of lightning at the shield of rocks.
When the attack ended, another Jura stood looking only somewhat scratched. The wizard saint let out a sigh as he clapped his hands together. Suddenly, Laxus found the giant stone statue of samurai like warrior standing right behind Jura. Before Laxus could react, the giant statue moved directly towards Laxus and tried to smash him with its fists.
"Rock Mountain!" Jura called out as his statue nearly pummeled Laxus.
Laxus dodged each attack before attacking the statue, "Lightning Dragon's Iron Hammer!" he yelled as he punched the ground.
The resulting punch released a heavy amount of lightning from Laxus' body. With the lightning moving directly towards the statue and engulfing it a storm of lightning. However, the attack didn't destroy the statue and just left Laxus open for an attack. With the statue punching Laxus with enough force to create a massive crater under his body. The pseudo dragon slayer let out a pain filled groan as the statue stood back as Jura didn't want to beat the man mercilessly.
"Have you had enough enough Laxus-san? I do not take joy in beating a man while he is down." Jura said.
Laxus let out a growl, "I'm not quitter, pain is temporary." he said as he managed to stand up. After a moment of trying to get up, Laxus picked up his axe again, "But if I quit now, the pain will last forever." he said as the axe started to spark up with an immense amount of lightning.
Once Laxus thought it was a good time to move, he jumped high into the air again. His axe charged up with more lightning than before as he aimed for Jura again. This time, Jura's massive statue got in the way and prepared to attack the young Dreyar. However, Laxus briefly looked at his guild and saw Kintoki nodding at him. Laxus nodded back as he poured all of his reserve magic into the axe as it made contact with the statue's fist.
"I'll knock you both out! Golden Spark!" Laxus shouted as his attack blinded the audience.
All around the battlefield, everyone was blown back by a lot of wind and dust. It was a good thing there were some security parameters set up to avoid any lightning and earth from hitting the crowd. As it took several minutes for the dust storm caused by Laxus to clear up.
With Team A
Natsu looked confused, "What the heck? Since when can he do that?" he asked.
"What even was that?" Gray asked.
"I think Laxus somehow got his hands on Kintoki's axe or at least a cheap knock off." Lucy said, making a note to speak to the Berserker later.
However, as the dust cleared up, they witnessed Laxus hit the ground in exhaustion. Standing before him was a badly injured Jura who's statue was obliterated along with several thick walls of stone. Lucy was right about the quality of the noble phantasm, but it was still pretty powerful. Just as her guild was about to lament on a defeat, Jura suddenly collapsed onto his side as several sparks of lightning surrounded his body.
"Wait, is Jura out too?" Lucy asked.
"That depends on how the referee sees it." Erza said as she felt anxious.
"And it's a draw, kabo!" Mato announced.
The crowd roared in excitement as they witnessed an amazing display of power from both sides. Meanwhile both Fairy Tail teams had to settle with gaining some points rather than no points at all.
"Now let's take a look at the leaderboards, kabo!" Mato said as the scoreboards appeared.
"Remember, no matter how good or bad we are doing. There are several more days of competing to prepare for." Erza said sternly.
Wendy started to shake, "Those fights look intense, but it's the challenges that make me nervous." she said.
"Then don't volunteer Wendy, no one will think any less of you." Charle said.
"Yeah Wendy, if you don't get picked to fight. You still have at least another day to get mentally ready." Happy said.
"See? Even the tomcat believes in you." Charle said.
"I sure am wise! Let's eat this fish of wisdom together!" Happy said, offering his fish.
"No, keep that away from me." Charle said, making Happy pout.
Everyone quieted down once the scoreboards were up.

"Wow! Amazing comeback for Fairy Tail's two teams! Looks like things are serious again now that Makarov Dreyar is back from his vacation, kabo!" Mato said excitedly. "I bet Master Bob is proud too. But Sabertooth, are you all feeling blue or something? I guess your winning streak ends this year, kabo." he said.
A few people could see Master Jiemma of Sabertooth looking very angry, but only his guild could sense his fury and disappointment. However, he looked like he was calming down a bit as one his dragon slayers, Sting Eucliffe, had approached him.
"Don't worry master, I'm going to remind everyone why Sabertooth is on top." Sting said, but Jiemma didn't look convinced just yet.
Day 2, challenge
Natsu and Gajeel were standing together along with everyone else. The two dragon slayers represented the same guild but looked more then ready to fight each other.
"You're competing for your team, metal head?" Natsu asked.
Gajeel looked down at Natsu, "That's right Salamander, since it's going to be a century until they decide to let me fight. I might as well kick your ass along with everyone else." he said.
"Too bad, because I'm gonna be the one that's winning." Natsu said before pulling out a bag. "Right after I take my medicine." he said as he swallowed something.
Gajeel snorted, "Aw, does baby need his meds?" he asked.
"Shut up." Natsu said.
Suddenly Mato appeared, "Everyone, please prepare for the next challenge. You'll be having a race across town, kabo." He said. All three dragon slayers grinned in excitement, "While riding on the chariot filled with various traps. I won't need to spell out the end goal, so let's get started, kabo!" he said.
Natsu and Gajeel's faces suddenly looked sickly.
"At least I took my medicine that Lucy gave me." Natsu said.
"I'm gonna take my medicine too." Gajeel said, pulling out a similar bag.
"Look who's the baby now!" Natsu barked.
"Shut up Salamander! I just have vertigo! I'm not weak like you! I don't get sick whenever my foot touches something with wheels!" Gajeel vehemently denied.
For some reason, Gajeel really was developing motion sickness when riding on modes of transportation. Sting didn't say anything because it wasn't anyone's business, but he was afflicted by the same problem. He and Rogue would also be as frail as small children when riding on vehicles like Natsu.
After the challenge begins
Natsu and Gajeel were both feeling healthy but still feeling slightly weak. Despite Lucy giving them medicine made with the help of Wendy's magic and Nightingale's expertise on medication. The two felt like they were riding on a giant bull.
"Okay, this intense." Natsu admitted.
"That much is obvious." Gajeel replied. "Let's race walk." he said.
"Sure thing!" Natsu said as the two race walked across the chariot.
Leaving behind Sting who looked like he was just stabbed in the gut. He watched as the two dragon slayers leave while looking somewhat healthy. Sting felt a great amount of fury.
"This is unfair! I'm a true dragon slayer! I killed my dragon while you two were just playing dragons! You're relics of the past while I'm the future!" Sting angrily screamed.
"What did he say? For once, I couldn't hear him." Gajeel asked.
"I think my motion sickness is blocking my hearing. I think that jerk said he killed his dragon's credit score and he has no future." Natsu said.
"Damn, I didn't even know dragons had credit cards. What did he buy?" Gajeel asked.
"I don't know and I don't care." Natsu answered.
As the two continued to make their way across the chariot. They saw the various wizards from the other guilds attempting to fight each other. With many attempting to slow each other down in order to win the next round. However, it looks like first place is already gone as Bacchus Groh somehow developed the speed that could put a cheetah to shame and crossed the finish line in mere minutes.
"How come our resident drunk isn't that fast?" Gajeel asked.
"I don't know, I guess Cana is too fat and slow." Natsu said as they ran into Ichiya who blocked their path.
"Fairy Tail, you shall not pass me! My guild will be the ones defeating the two of you!" Ichiya announced as he pulled out a bottle. "Are you gents interested in my parfume?" he asked.
The two dragon slayers trampled over Ichiya as they ignored his eccentricity. Ichiya would not let that slow him down as he recovered. He then sprayed the bottle of perfume all over his body.
"Now, behold my new recipe!" Ichiya said as he prepared to transform.
Natsu suddenly turned around, "Hey, stop spray that crap… I'm gonna… ah… ah… ACHOOO!" he shouted as sneezed.
However, instead of mucous hitting the creepy man in the face. Ichiya was hit by a torrent of flames that sent him flying all the way back to the beginning of the chariot. Where he accidentally flew towards Yuka and Risley.
"What is that?" Yuka asked.
"A burning meatball maybe?" Risley asked.
Suddenly, the two were hit by Ichiya who sent them back to where Sting was trying to move. Funny enough, the trio were dogpiled on top of the dragon slayer who couldn't find the strength to pry them off.
"What is that disgusting smell?" Yuka asked.
Ichiya looked shocked, "Are you a man without culture? I pity you if that is so." he said.
"I think this perfume is going to make me vomit." Risley said.
A long time later
Natsu and Gajeel tried moving as quickly as possible but it felt like their medicine's effect was already running out. By this point, the two used all of their stamina to run as quickly as they could while ignoring the background fighting. They didn't want to deal with whatever shenanigans Ichiya pulled out, they ignored Risley's weird ability to turn skinny and Yuka tried something but it didn't work.
"Move Salamander! This is my win!" Gajeel yelled
"No way! It's mine!" Natsu yelled.
"Fools, you're fighting for third place but it doesn't matter. I'm taking it." Yuka said as he created a barrier around the both of them. "Good try though." He said as he walked by them with ease.
"Stupid eyebrow freak!" Natsu yelled.
"How original, insulting my eyebrows." Yuka said sarcastically before Natsu and Gajeel broke through their barriers. "What the?" he asked.
"Come here! I'm shaving those things off!" Gajeel yelled as they tackled Yuka through the finish line.
"Coming in third, fourth and fifth are Fairy Tail Team B, Lamia Scale and Fairy Tail Team A!" Lola announced just before Ichiya and Risley caught up with them.
"Metal head, you idiot!" Natsu roared.
"It's not my fault, you're a loser. So deal with it Salamander." Gajeel said smugly.
"And seeing as how Sting might not move from his spot. Let's take a look at that leaderboard." Lola said as the screen appeared.

As Natsu and Gajeel suddenly got into a fist fight. The rest of the competitors minus Sting went off to wait for the next round. Sting sulked as he felt embarrassed for losing against wizards who are much more "weak" than his guild.
Round 2
Lucy sighed as she healed Natsu's bruises, "I'm annoyed too Natsu, but stop picking fights after the challenge ends." she said.
"Yes dear." Natsu said sarcastically.
"You want me to treat you like an annoying housewife?" Lucy asked, making Natsu look away. "You're impossible." she said.
"Yes dear." Natsu repeated.
"Enough!" Erza exclaimed. "This fight has become very emotional." she said as she covered her mouth.
For some reason, Kurohebi was selected to fight despite having already competed in the challenge. As he was now fighting Toby from Lamia Scale but quickly defeated him. Before Toby was defeated, he made a wager against Raven Tail's wizard.
If Toby defeated him, Kurohebi would have to tell Toby his real name. However, if Kurohebi was the victory… Toby would give away his tearjerker of a secret.
"My lucky sock, I lost it and I might never find it again! I'm separated from what is most precious to me!" Toby cried out as even Erza became tearful.
"The poor sock." Erza said.
"Erza, isn't the sock around Toby's neck the missing lucky sock?" Wendy asked.
"Eh?" Erza asked.
At the same time, Kurohebi had the same theory, "I think I found your lucky sock. You're wearing it like a necklace." he said.
Toby grabbed the sock, "It is my lucky sock! I found it!" he cried out as the crowd cheered at the sight of a happy reunion. "I can't thank you enough, Kurohebi, or whatever your real name is." he said with teary eyes.
Kurohebi smiled, "Think nothing of it." he said while extending his hand.
Everyone cheered for the Raven Tail wizard as they thought he was being a friendly sportsman. However, as Toby tried to take his hand, thinking it was a kind gesture. Kurohebi took the sock and ripped it in front of Toby before laughing like a maniac.
"NOOOO!" Toby screamed.
"That audacity! Kurohebi truly is despicable!" Lola announced.
"Did you just realize that now?" Kurohebi asked Lola as he left the arena.
Leaving behind Toby who did his best to try and put his sock back together. Only for the anthromorphic lion to cry out in pain and suffering. Even Erza fell to her knees at the sight of such tragedy.
One funeral later
After holding a funeral and burying the remnants of Toby's sock. The games continued with Fairy Tail Team B fighting against Blue Pegasus. As if by fate's will, the competitors were Mirajane Strauss and Jenny Realight. The irony being that both girls are rivals in the modeling industry.
"I see you haven't aged a day Mira, what's your secret?" Jenny asked, hoping to mock her.
"Why thank you Jenny, it's not really a secret. I just avoid dressing up like a clown with all that make up." Mira replied in a sweet tone.
Jenny's eye twitched, "Oh? I'm only wearing a small bit of blush." she said. "It's better than looking like a ghost with that milky skin of yours." she said.
Mira still looked calm but internally, she was very angry, "Those are some fighting words. Jenny, how about we skip the girl talk and get down to business?" she asked.
"What's the hold up Mira? There's more than one way to settle this than a fight." Jenny said.
"No, there really isn't that's the purpose of this round." Lola said, sounding confused.
That's when Jenny removed her dress and revealed a sexy swimsuit, "Why use our fists, when we can use a stronger weapon?" she asked.
"Never mind, I see where this is going!" Lola said excitedly.
"While we're at it, lets add a bet of our own." Jenny said as she made a cute pose. "The loser of this round has to do a nude photoshoot for Sorcerer Weekly." she suggested.
Suddenly, Mirajane also stripped down, "Jenny, I was just being nice, but if you want to lose two fights. Then I'll allow it." she said as she took a pose.
"Now Mirajane is turning up the heat!" Lola said.
"How come nobody gets mad when they're the ones intentionally stripping!?" Gray angrily asked.
"SHUT UP GRAY!" the entirety of the male crowd yelled.
Suddenly, this caused nearly all of the females in every present guild to jump out and participate in the swimsuit competition. The few that decided not to participate were the middle aged women, the serious women such as Kagura and Lucy and a few others. This sudden event did not stop as Chapati Lola continued to excite the men while ignoring the fact that they needed to finish the games.
It also made some of the more sensitive girls feel sad. Two of whom included Mavis Vermillion who could not be seen by anyone except for her guild.
"Not fair." Mavis said.
Wendy looked at up Lucy with sad eyes, "Lucy, how do I grow?" she asked while referring to her chest.
"Lots of vegetables." Lucy answered as she wasn't paying attention to the stupid swimsuit contest.
In fact, she was writing as she thought this was a waste of time and decided to catch up on her works. At the same time, Natsu and Gray also grabbed a pen and paper. With the two arguing about who can write a better story. Although now it sounds like the two were just writing lots of bad fan fiction about why they hate each other.
"The wimpy Gray was so old and alone. He had to sell his pants to afford a fire. If only, he could actually find them." Natsu said.
"The flame breathing moron did become smart, only to learn he's a blight on society. So he made a machine that would send him to the depths of space." Gray said.
"I can see you two are under rated artists." Lucy said sarcastically. "Also Wendy, don't worry your size. You're still growing and another thing, don't focus on those girls." she said before the whole arena was filled with arrows.
"What was that?" Wendy asked.
"It looks like Artemis-sama has had enough of women depraving themselves." Charle said as she could see Artemis looking furious in the distance.
Apparently, the Virgin Goddess was very annoyed by the sight of women showing off their skin. While she's all for women doing as they pleased, she can see that they were doing it for the sake of attention. Most of which is from men who were leering them and while Artemis would normally just blame men without seeing any fault on the women. The goddess was already at her limit and didn't want this stupid contest to continue.
"Every second this continues, someone is losing a crotch or a breast!" Artemis yelled, causing the men to take cover.
Meanwhile all the girls minus Mira and Jenny had already put on their clothes and left. However, just as Artemis felt satisfied with the women covering themselves. She spotted one more person still wearing a bikini in public.
"You can't end it now! I've just begun!" Ooba said as she started posing at the top of the stadium wall.
Artemis was about to fire on Ooba only to feel her eyes burn. Her entire body stiffened as she suddenly feel face first into the ground. It must have been quite painful as Artemis was also standing on top of the wall of the stadium. Funny enough, Orion's teddy bear body fell onto her back.
"MY EYES! IT BURNS!" Orion screamed as he thrashed around.
Mira and Jenny both blanched in disgust as they didn't like the sight of Ooba's wrinkly body.
"Jenny, let's just get started already." Mira said.
"Sure, Machine Soul: Battle Suit!" Jenny calls out as her form changes.
"Satan Soul: Sitri!" Mirajane calls out as she turns into a form more terrifying than her standard Satan Soul.
"Eh? When did you get that scary looking thing?" Jenny asked as she started shaking.
"A few days ago!" Mira said before defeating Jenny with a single quick attack.
Jenny hit the ground with a loud thump but barely looked harmed. However, she ended up reverting back to normal and looked barely capable of standing up again.
"The winner is Mirajane Strauss!" Lola announced while Jenny cried.
"Good luck on your nude photoshoot!" Mira said as Jenny cried louder.
"No fair!" she cried.
The next round
With that fiasco of a fight now over, Fairy Tail Team A would be battling someone from Quatro Cerberus. While Makarov was good friends with Goldmine, there was no way he was going to pity his old friend and let him win some points. However, it looked like things were getting serious as Bacchus was participating again.
"The next match will be between Lucy Heartfilia and Bacchus Groh, kabo!" Mato announced.
Lucy sighed as she extended her wings and flew over the battlefield. Adding a little flash of light with her magic to captivate the audience in the process. As she landed with elegance, Lucy saw Bacchus lying on the field as he waited for her.
"Cute little display." Bacchus said as he twirled his bottle filled with alcohol in his finger. "So, since you're that maiden they spoke of a long time ago. I'm guessing you're one of those uptight kinds of chicks, like a nun." he said.
Lucy responded with an annoyed look on her face.
"A scandalous nun, I might add. Too bad, I like mature girls better. Someone with more experience if you know what I'm saying." Bacchus said with a snort.
"I think I know what you mean." Lucy said, ready to summon Artemis so she could barrage Bacchus.
"Hang on, we gotta make our bets first. Let's say this, if I win. You have to recommend me to two of any of your hottest guild mates." Bacchus said.
"And what I do get if I agree?" Lucy asked.
"Take your pick." Bacchus said, feeling confident in his victory.
Lucy was suddenly barraged by various suggestions from her guild.
"Make him eat dirt!"
"Make him wear "Fairy Tail is #1" T-shirts!"
"Make his team do a funny song and dance!"
"Make them rename his team, Quatro Puppy!"
Lucy nodded, "I'll go easy on you Bacchus, if I win. You have to rename your team to Quatro Puppy." she said.
Bacchus looked confused, "Okay… I will take that bet then." he said as he readied himself.
"Lucy be careful! He's an S-Class mage, don't let his relaxed personality trick you!" Erza warned.
"I know Erza! I'm just treating him to two beauties from the guild!" Lucy shouted back as she spawned two servants.
Bacchus readied his bottle as he would have to use his alcohol to empower him. He knew a lot of servants weren't jokes from the stories he was told. However, instead of facing warriors who have faced many obstacles and dangers in their period of time. He was surprised with the sight of Kama and Kiara.
"You summoned a loli and a nun. You call these beauties?" Bacchus asked.
"Oops, I might have to loosen their leashes." Lucy said as the two girls suddenly changed.
Suddenly Bacchus had his two arms being pulled by both Kiara and Kama who were in their true forms. Instead of a woman of the cloth and a child, he was grabbed by a sexy demoness and beautiful goddess.
"I was expecting that Mirajane chick and maybe her sister, but these girls are better!" Bacchus said as he felt his heart beat too quickly.
Goldmine panicked as he saw this, "Bacchus, don't get distracted! This is a fight! Not some kind of date!" he warned.
But it fell on deaf ears as Bacchus succumbed to a woman who desired to receive love and a woman who desired to give love. At that moment, while the drunkard was distracted, Lucy brought out a golden key. Where she utilized the one Celestial Spirit who could rival Bacchus' love for women.
"Open! Gate of the Golden Bull: Taurus!" Lucy shouted as Taurus came crashing through the ground.
"MOOOO! Where the ladies at!?" Taurus asked as he brought out his axe.
Lucy smirked at her spirit's predictable behavior, "The two loveliest ladies are right there, but you have to fight that guy." she explained while pointing Bacchus who was still distracted. "Not only that, he says there's no man who loves women more than he does." she added.
Smoke came out of Taurus' nostrils, "Heck no! I love women more than some nasty guy who smells like Cana!" he yelled as he charged at Bacchus.
Lucy continued to smirk as she raised her hands, "Invigorate!" she said, casting an enhancement onto Taurus.
"What the heck is that?" Bacchus asked, now registering Taurus' presence.
"Hot babes, move over! I'm more of a man with a whole lot more love to give than that guy!" Taurus exclaimed.
"Damn, hold on ladies. We can have fun after I beat up this cow." Bacchus said as Kama and Kiara let go of him.
Those who weren't interested in some guy getting with pretty girls now got excited again. As they saw a heavy battle between two men who love attractive girls.
20 minutes later
Taurus was on his last limbs as he struggled to stand while Bacchus was also in a similar position. Although this was mainly because S-Class mage of Quatro Cerberus had just finished his bottle of alcohol and was at his strongest point. Whereas Taurus had to rely on support magic from Lucy along with the motivation of being with beautiful women. Neither one of them cared if the two servants were two aspects of Beast III.
Then again, both Kama and Kiara are complete opposites as they are both the anthesis to each other. So it was impressive on Lucy's part to make the two respond to her commands.
"Hurry boys, the ladies can't wait that long for you." Lucy said.
Bacchus chuckled, "She has a point, cow. Let's finish this." he said as he raised his fists.
"You don't need to tell me twice!" Taurus said as he raised his axe.
With one final exchange of blows, Taurus smashed his head against Bacchus' head as he raised his axe into the air. He let out one more screech of victory as the crowd clapped for him.
"I win! You don't need to get drunk to party! MOOOOOOO!" Taurus cried out before losing consciousness.
"Amazing! Such a strong mind hiding behind a cute face! The Winner is Lucy Heartfilia!" Lola announced as the crowd cheered.
"Not all blondes are dumb. Some of them are dangerous." Yajima spoke up.
With Sabertooth
Jiemma looked on with his ever present glare at the arena. As he watched, he saw Yukino's name being pulled up along with Kagura from Mermaid Heel. Jiemma quickly made his way to his team and stopped the celestial spirit mage.
"Master Jiemma?" Yukino asked.
"Yukino, you lack physical strength and it's strength that defines this guild. You make up for that because of your power." Jiemma said as his presence made the guild feel nervous. "However, I don't care how we win but we do it by destroying the competition. So I think it's time our benefactor's toys came to use." he said as he pulled something out of his bag.
"I will do whatever you ask of me, Master. I will not shame Sabertooth's name." Yukino said.
"I know that. That's why you're taking this and don't think twice about giving up halfway." Jiemma said as he handed a card to Yukino. "Our "sponsor", as he called himself, says this will give any weakling into a powerful force of nature that could make even the Wizard Saints fall to their knees." he said.
Yukino's eyes widened as she felt the dark aura from the card, "Thank you Master Jiemma! Victory is now guaranteed! If needed, Mermaid Heel will permanently lose a guild member!" she exclaimed.
"If that guarantees our victory, then do what you will. However, I won't be very forgiving as I was with Rufus." Jiemma said before looking at the rest of the team. With one person in particular, "You're not off the hook either, Sting." he said as he left.
Sting's hands curled into fists as his exceed, Lector, tried to cheer him up. Yukino on the other hand, was practically screaming on the inside as she felt a horrible amount of anxiety. Even if this card did give her power to defeat Kagura, Yukino felt as if her heart was being tugged on by the devil.
The celestial spirit mage of Sabertooth would soon realize the deadly power of an unstable Class card.
