(Meanwhile, at the terrorists' base...)

The head of the terrorists continued to look at the screen of all the times the chosen children defeated each of the Pokemon they had sent, trying to find some weak point in each one.

"So these are the famous chosen children you told me about…" he said.

You'd think he was just talking to himself, or just crazy. However, a strange cavernous voice, which could make anyone's blood run cold, answered him:

"They are the most serious threats in the construction of the world that you want to control. Your leader never knew or controlled the incredible power of the Pokemon, but you can become a better leader than him... if you destroy the chosen children..."

The gloomy voice faded away, and the boss shouted to one of his scientists:

"When will the projects be ready?" he asked impatiently.

"Sir, the Genesect projects are almost finished; we have managed to create six forms of these destruction machines. They are ready to be used in the attack on the White House, "They could destroy the army in a matter of minutes."

The boss thought about it for a few minutes; then, he replied:

"No. First, we must eliminate everything that is a nuisance in our plan… send the Genesect to attack the chosen ones: leave no trace of them if you have to blow up the city with them"

"There is a problem, sir…" said the scientist, "As they are insect and steel type Pokemon, they are very susceptible to fire. Their defenses are still low against fire"

"Then we must get rid of the Charizard boy…"

"By the way, there is something quite interesting…"

The scientist approached the console, whereupon he went through a list again of all the images of the Pokemon that the chosen children had transformed into. Then, by pressing a series of buttons on the computer, a biomolecular analysis of them was displayed.

"With this analysis that we took from the spy camera, we will be able to advance the Hybrids project more quickly," explained the scientist, "These data are very interesting: when they are humans, their DNA gives a figure of 30% human and 70% Pokemon. But, when transformed, these figures are exchanged. Except…"

He brought his camera and biomolecular analysis closer to the Charizard.

"This boy here has more Pokemon DNA than the others: 50% Pokemon when he is human, and 85% when he transforms. And if I'm not mistaken, he's the one who brought the other kids together..."

"All the more reason, get rid of him!" The boss shouted in anger, "If we manage to get rid of him, the others will fall easily: Take care of it."

"Y-yes sir."

(On the other hand…)

Rex and the other kids were sitting in the back of a bus while looking at their Pokephones with the locator activated.

"These devices have more functions than we thought," Mina commented.

"Yes… it is possibly their change that they have suffered" Luke suggested, "Anyway, Rex, any idea who our chosen companion could be? "You said it was your school."

Rex thought about it… who could it be and why didn't he realize it before?

"Well, I don't know anyone who was like us at that time…" Rex replied, "Maybe Katie…"

At the mere mention of Katie, Rex blushed while the others whistled at him. For Rex to mention a girl like that, it's obvious what friends would say.

"Hey! Do you think it's a good time to suggest things?" Rex snapped at them.

"Well, I think you mentioned a sensitive point, Rex" Zack laughed.

The others laughed too, making Rex blush more. However, everyone had to remember his mission to find this new chosen one, so they had to maintain a little seriousness. After a few minutes, the driver told the boys that they would arrive in a couple more streets.

Finally, the six chosen kids got off the transport vehicle and arrived at Rex's school. The school had 2 buildings of 4 floors each and 2 yards and was currently in activities. The shouts of the kids could be heard during recess.

"Okay, but how do we get in?" Rose asked, "You and Luke transform and we go over the top?"

"I could talk to George, the janitor, to let us in..." Rex considered, "Although... what can I tell him?"

"What are you talking about?" Dylan asked.

"I think I know what's worrying you," Luke commented, "We left classes to commit ourselves to this mission of saving two worlds. I don't think they'll allow us to enter after being away for so long. Besides, what will we tell them to get through? 'Do we need to enter to look for a chosen boy who can transform into Pokemon like us?' I don't think it's credible"

"It's true, they would consider us crazy or that it's a trick," Zack considered.

"Hmm," thought Rex, "I have an idea! Rose, are there still those seeds that the Pokemon from Treasure Village gave us a long time ago?"

"Um... yeah," she replied, reaching into their old suitcase and handing him one, "What are you planning to do?"

Rex didn't respond, but instead he went to a nearby store and bought a couple of cupcakes. In one of them, he put the seed inside. Then, he asked his friends to hide. After a few minutes, he told them to come back. There, behind the door, was sleeping the janitor.

"His biggest weakness: cupcakes," Rex summarized, "Apparently, the Sleep Seed also works on humans. Come on, let's get in before the effects ends"

The kids entered and ran silently down the hallway, arriving at the schoolyard where there were several students talking, others were playing sports, and others were studying. Looking back at his Pokephones, the light indicated that they were close, but he couldn't tell him exactly where they were.

"Well, I guess we should separate," Rex proposed, "Don't get lost and be careful that the teachers see you."

"Yes" the others responded.

Rex then went to search guided by the beeps of the Pokephone. The signal came and went, in what seemed to be a blind guide. Not long into the search for him, and because he was extremely focused on the signal, he bumped into someone, causing to drop a few books.

"Oops, sorry," Rex apologized, helping pick up the books.

"Rex?" Katie asked him, because it was her, "When did you arrive? I thought you weren't coming to school anymore! The teachers have been asking us a lot of questions about it."

"Well I... I'm looking for... Well, it's complicated"

"By the way, look..."

Katie pulled out a cell phone that looked black, like it had been burned.

"That happened when you defended me from that lightning attack," she explained, "It damaged my cell phone. It still works, but it has gone out of control from time to time. I was thinking about changing it..."

But at that moment, a push made Rex fall to his knees. Turning his head, he realized that it was that brute bully with an albino complexion.

"Here again, trash?" that guy asked.

"You again, Martin?" Rex replied, "I don't have to waste my time with you, I'm busy..."

"Busier than coming to class? The teachers asked your parents, but they said you were too sick to come. Now I know that you are healthy and have to enter school without permission. Imagine what the teachers would say if..."

"You're hateful, Martin!" Katie said, "You're nothing more than a hypocrite when you're the one doing things against the rules."

The bully violently grabbed Katie's arm, to which Rex responded by making him leave the girl; This was followed by a struggle between Rex and Martin. However, when a teacher noticed the fight and approached to stop them, lightning struck near the group, causing everyone to be thrown away. Everyone present looked at the sky:

They looked like a jet larger than a person, the body was made of purple and red metal, with a dish-shaped head, they had large red eyes and small holes on the top of their head. In addition, you could notice a white stripe that looked like a mouth. When they were close enough, they changed shape, to show a strange-looking species of androids, not at all human, with a single large claw instead of a hand or paw. Likewise, they had a cannon on their back.

As soon as they showed themselves that way, ropes came out from the tips of their claws and trapped Rex. The ropes were extremely sticky and the chosen boy couldn't even reach his Pokephone and it got stuck to the floor.

"Who are they?" Rose asked.

"I don't know what kind of Pokemon they are, but look!" Luke pointed out.

On the side of their armor, they had the symbol of the Celtic Cross. They had no doubt that they were some kind of robotic enemies.

"Let's evolve!" the kids shouted in unison.

The five chosen kids changed into their Pokemon form, and then evolved.

"Chikorita evolve to... Bayleef!"

"Froakie evolve to... Frogadier!"

"Nidoran evolve to... Nidorina!"

"Pidove evolve to... Tranquil!"

"Shinx evolve to... Luxio!"

When they were ready, they tried to help Rex join the fight.

"Rose, free Rex," Zack told her, "We'll cover you…" he turned to the enemy, "Thunder Shock!"

Zack attacked one of the machines, but the electric shock that hit did nothing to the mysterious Pokemon. On the contrary, the entire group of machines attacked with a shot of fire from their cannon, but in the direction of Rose, who was trying to help Rex.

"Water pulse!" Dylan defended him with a whirlwind of water. However, the fire attack was somehow superior to this and he soon found himself overwhelmed and hit with it along with Rose.

"Poison sting!" Mina attacked.

"Razor Wind!" Luke attacked.

The attacks hit the Genesect, but they bounced off due to the thick layer of steel. Then, they turned into jets again, and flew at full speed with their cannons, destroying several areas of the school.

"We have to increase the intensity!" Zack shouted, "Time to Ultra Evolve!

"Alright!" shouted the others.

"Bayleef evolves to... Meganium!"

"Frogadier evolves to... Greninja!"

"Tranquil evolves to... Unfezant!"

"Nidorina evolves to... Nidoqueen!"

"Luxio evolves to... Luxray!"

The five boys went to the ultra level, but this was not going to work either. For example, Dylan jumped and rode on one of the Genesect; Next, I create a clone.

"Aqua Rasengan!" Dylan attacked, hitting the Genesect's entire back. But that was totally useless, when the sphere hit, it burst as if it were a bubble.

Suddenly, another Genesect hit him with such speed that he couldn't dodge it. A third fired an electric beam from its cannon into his back. This attack was fatal: because Dylan was a water type.

"Razor Blades!"

"Tornado!"

Rose's Razor Blades increased her speed and power with the Tornado, but they still broke into the steel body. One of them returned to his original form and used a Shadow Claw, heavily injuring Rose.

"Rock Smash!" Mina attacked, taking advantage of the fact that the enemy was on land. However, her arm stopped before it hit: another of the Genesect had stopped it with its sticky threads.

Another of the Genesect fired a shot of water from its cannon, which really affected the Nidoqueen. Although he resisted, the other Genesect also launched a water cannon, causing quite a bit of damage. Then, they switched to a fire cannon, attacking Zack.

"Thunderbolt!" Zack countered. But that attack was not enough to counter 5 fire attacks.

"Careful!" Rose shouted, "Light Screen!"

"Water Veil!"

Rose and Dylan protected Zack with his energy shield and a water shield. However, they did not resist and the three were hit by that attack.

"Brave bird!" Luke attacked one of the Genesect with all his might.

It was as if a man was trying to hit a steel wall with his body: Luke only received a strong blow on each of his Pokemon bird bones. The Genesect then attacked the Unfezant with an electric cannon. Luke fell like a bag of lead to the ground. Everyone was defeated. Meanwhile, Rex fought with all his might to free himself from his ropes when he saw his friends in danger.

"Guys!" he shouted, as the Genesect prepared to deliver the final blow. However, among the shadows where they were controlled, they heard their leader:

"Consider the trapped kid as your priority target," he said, "Eliminate him first."

The Genesect then targeted Rex, while he still couldn't let go. Before they could fire, Katie got in the way and proceeded to try to cut the sticky threads with scissors. The Pokemon stopped for a minute.

"Katie! Get out of here, they can kill you!" Rex yelled at him.

"I don't want you to be the one who dies," Katie replied, "I have to help you help your friends…"

Before she finished helping him, another rope held the girl's hand; The Genesect would not allow him to help her goal.

"Katie!"

But before anything else could happen, Katie's damaged cell phone was dropped and covered in an incredibly intense layer of shine that seeped into the girl's free hand. The next second, the glow disappeared and the cell phone had become a new Pokephone.

"This… is…" said the stunned girl. Rex was also surprised: his childhood friend... the new chosen one? But then he remembered the situation.

"Katie, pick it up and shout: Time to evolve!" he told her.

"What? Ok…" she responded, lifting her device up, "Time to evolve!"

From the new Pokephone, a shine emerged so intense that it even replenished part of the energies of the other chosen kids. On her side, Katie's body began to change and transform into a Charmander, then a Charmeleon, and finally...

"Charmander ultra evolves into… Charizard!"

Katie had transformed into the same form that Rex took (with the slight difference that she was female) and, coincidentally, the heat from Charizard's tail touched the ropes that trapped Rex, burning them and freeing him.

"Watch out!" Rex shouted, pointing ahead.

Three of the Genesect switched their cannons to water and attacked. Katie protected herself from her with one of her wings, accidentally transforming it into a Steel Wing and creating a shield strong enough to protect her. Rex thought he did well, but he still lacked some experience.

"Katie, take a deep breath and then exhale hard!" he told her.

"Really?" she asked, "Well… I'll try."

Katie did as Rex advised her, and so, she exhaled her first Flamethrower... so intense, that she burned all 5 enemy Pokemon. The fire did affect the Genesect, as their bodies seemed to have been damaged. However, they transformed into their jet form and flew around Katie, tying her up with those sticky ropes.

"Oh no, this time I'll do something…" Rex stood up, "Time to ultra evolve!"

Rex also immediately transformed into his Charizard form and, taking flight, attacked the ropes.

"Fire Spin!"

The waves of heat he exhaled burned each of the strands, freeing Katie without harming her. Rex took advantage of that and took her hand.

"What are you doing?" Katie asked.

"There is no time for a flying lesson," Rex replied, "Just let the wind and the wings take you."

It was a very short lesson, but Katie seemed to learn quickly and took off on her own. The five Genesect then launched themselves with a combination of 5 water cannons, hoping to weaken the Charizard pair.

"Katie, try another Flamethrower," Rex told her.

"But, it's five water attacks…" she replied.

"Don't worry, you try it"

"Okay… Flamethrower!" Katie attacked.

Rex stood next to the fire.

"Tornado!" he attacked, flapping his wings strongly.

The wind increased the flames of Katie's fire, making the attack more intense and this combination overpowered the water attack of all 5 Genesect Pokemon.

"Dragon Breath!" Rex attacked, adding power to the attack and knocking down each of the Genesect. In their bodies, the circuits they were made of were sparking... in the end, they ended up in pieces.

"That was great!" Katie exclaimed, lowering herself back to the ground.

"Guys!" Rex told them, going down to help them, "Are you okay?"

They all returned to their human form.

"Yeah, I'm glad you helped us," Zack said, "You and… the seventh chosen one?"

The latter was directed at Katie.

"Oh, right…" he told them, "This is Katie, my long-time friend. Katie, these are my chosen friends: Zack, Dylan, Mina, Rose and Luke"

"Nice to meet you," Katie greeted them.

"Um…guys," Rose interrupted, taking a look at the destroyed school, "Don't you think we'd better get out of here before they start asking awkward questions?"

The kids all looked at each other and, knowing the long paperwork and possibly conversations with their parents that would await them, they left the school as quickly as they could. Before leaving, Katie took her backpack. Then, they all escaped through the door where the janitor was still asleep.

"I hope the sleep ends soon…" Rex thought as everyone escaped.

But, among the ruins, Martin looked at the robot parts of the robots. Then, he took out his cell phone and called a number. Within a few seconds, someone answered him.

"Is this your job?" he asked, "These things were destroyed…"

"You don't have to tell me, I have my sources," the voice on the other end answered, "I'm glad you're okay after the attack, my son. I also noticed that that girl you told me you liked is one of them…"

"I don't care about her anymore, what I want is to get revenge on that guy, Rex."

"Well, I have something perfect for you: the Genesect project failed, but we still have the Hybrids project and you can be a test subject. You can have a great power…"

"A great power? That sounds perfect"
