Youth Gone Wild

(A/N: Hey usually I write pics and take them off cause I don't think they're good enough. But truthfully this is my first time writing for the Degrassi section of FFN. Anyway after rewatching DJH and DH I was inspired to write this fic for a few reasons. There's so many holes in Wheels's story arch from DH up until School's Out that I wanted to write what a story about what happened to him and what he got himself involved in. Also I was inspired to write about a possible relationship with him and Heather after seeing the episode where
she admitted to Erica about liking Wheels.
So while this story involves Joey and Heather its main focus will be on Wheels for the most part and his relationships with people and just basically his story and things like that. I originally wanted a fic focusing on his and Heather's relationship and then write a sequel about his story. However I decided that this one story will most likely get the job done. The title is inspired by the song Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row. I thought it really fitting and I wanted to use an 80s song.
With that said I do not own the song Youth Gone Wild by Skid Row and I also don't own any portion of the Degrassi series. Sorry for such a long author note and I hope you'll enjoy the fic and that it'll come out decent.)
It all started the summer after Degrassi Junior High burnt down. It would also mean a fresh start for the grade nine kids going on into grade ten. There was a huge meeting after the fire that had basically left the school in ruins. It was decided that the grade nine and ten kids would finally be going to Degrassi High. Which most of them were excited about because it meant that they were finally going onto a real high school. Of course the junior high school was still left in ruins, so some of the junior high kids would be going to Degrassi High which would open up a portion of the school to the junior high kids and would be separate from the high school kids. Once that was all said and done the kids of Degrassi could finally move along and enjoy their summer vacation. Some of them were going on amazing vacations, some of them were going to various summer camps. Wheels was going to stay home but he had everything figured out
already. Although his grandmother thought he was going to summer camp, that definitely was not the case.
Wheels was waiting in the diner for Snake and Joey so they could all see each other before Wheels and Snake went off to summer camp. Joey was still unsure of what he was going to do with his summer vacation. Caitlin was going to visit relatives for a few weeks at the beginning of summer. "Hey Wheels man! What's up?" Joey said as he walked in, arriving at the diner before Snake did. "Nothing, where's Snake?" Wheels asked as Joey sat down. "Oh he said he's going to be a little late, you know how his mom is. She has to make sure he has EVERYTHING and I mean everything. Some things, he told me he doesn't even need for summer camp." Joey explained. "Oh well that's good, because I wanted to tell you something before he gets here." Wheels said though he was slightly hesitant, however out of the three of them. He had been
friends with Joey longer then Snake. "Well what is it?" Joey asked. Wheels took a deep breath and then pulled out a package of cigarettes and lit one taking a drag thinking of what to say. "Since when do you smoke?" Joey asked slightly surprised.
"Since awhile, I just don't do it at school really or around my grandparents. Less trouble that way obviously." Wheels said as Joey merely shrugged. "Well if you wanna mess up your lungs that's on you buddy. So what did you want to tell me?" Joey urged as Wheels finally decided to explain. "Look I don't know if you're interested but I'm not really going to summer camp. Its a complete cover made up so that way I can work full time. I've been working for this dude called Viper. He ships cars." "How much do you make?" Joey couldn't help but ask. "Sometimes 3,000 or even 10,000" Wheels explained again to which Joey's eyes got huge. "That sounds like an amazing gig dude! Big bucks and you get to be around awesome cars!" Joey said excitedly though he didn't know the truth behind this job.
Wheels had been going down hill since he had lost his parents in 88. Wheels had also been in so much trouble at school that finally just before the start of summer it seemed like he was finally cleaning up his act. "For how long?" Joey asked him. "After I ran away. I told my grandma I'd try school again and I have but I wanted some extra money. Soooooo I more or less drive cars and take them back to this dude Viper. He ships them off and If any of us working for him are still in school his only rule is that on the surfacewe have to keep going to school, keep our grades up that way our parents or guardians don't get suspicious." Wheels explained as Joey's eyes widened slightly.
"You mean you get to drive cars for other people ?! You don't even have your driver's license yet dude!" Joey exclaimed, he knew he'd stick by Wheels for almost anything. Joey had even gotten Wheels into trouble on several occasions but Joey didn't know how he felt about his. "Well I don't exactly drive them for other people….I…" Wheels looked around quickly before putting out the cigarette and speaking in a whisper. "I steal them along with some other people and Viper replates them and paints them and ships them off to big bidders. Or strips them for extra parts."
Joey took a minute to respond. "Wheels you could get into some serious trouble for this stuff if you're caught." "No one will catch me because Viper more or less covers his ass and his bases. Even gives us legit fake licenses, the works. He even owns his own club and one of the people working for him is a real band. Joey I told you all this because I thought you'd be interested plus you could be apart of a real band. The band is looking
for new band members" Wheels had gone onto explain.
Joey knew he was prone to getting in trouble, they had even gone joy riding in Snake's parent's car but that was all nothing compared to what Wheels was doing. It was above and beyond even most of the trouble Joey had gotten into. Joey went to stand up. "No I'm sorry man, I can't. My parents would slaughter me not to mention its illegal!" Joey said as Wheels stopped him. "Oh come on Joey, think about it The Zit Remedy has been a lost cause for awhile. You'd get to play in a real band and rake in the dough. Plus Viper owns a business like a legit business like a movie theatre or something. So the money looks legit and you get small tips." Wheels continued explaining. "Oh yeah right, 3,000 or 10,000 dollars isn't small tips." Joey said shaking his head as Wheels explained again. "We each have lock boxes for that at his shop. That way we have a place to keep our money. Even Yick is working for us now."
Wheels said nodding. "You mean that broom head Yick Yu, who's best friend is Arthur?!" Joey said with a sigh. "Yeah, his older cousin got him into it. So he can help Yick get the money for his family because his older cousin looks after our funds and lock boxes. Plus Yick's family thinks his older cousin is some rich business man. He wanted to get involve because of his family. Come on Joey I know we'd have a kick ass time if we both were in on this." Wheels said as he looked towards Joey hoping he could get his friend to join him. There had been times where Joey was there for Wheels. So Wheels decided to sort of return the favor.
Joey was silent for a minute thinking and then he decided to sit back down before he spoke. "A real band right? And I wouldn't have to worry about my parents sending me to some lame ass summer camp this summer? I could just say I want to go to the same summer camp as you?" Wheels nodded. "Yeah exactly. Whaddya say? It'll be the best damned summer
of our life. Joey we get to stay in a Penthouse that's set up for us and its all ours. The only adult there will be Yick's older cousin and he's cool as fuck. Viper set up penthouses or apartments in places for his "SUMMER CAMP" Wheels explained saying the last part with air quotes. Joey sat there contemplating for awhile before he finally spoke up. "You know what? I'm there man. That would totally kick ass and you're right we get to make big bucks and playing for a real band? That would be awesome." Joey said excitedly.
"Alright Joey! Just don't tell Snake we can never tell him." Wheels said. "Why not? He's our friend too." Joey asked. "Yeah but you and I have been friends a lot longer. We started being friends with him junior high when we wanted to form The Zit Remedy. Plus you know how
he is. He's completely square, totally by the book, just like his parents are. And if his parents found out or if he told his parents. Then its all over." Wheels explained. Joey nodded. "Okay Okay you're right I won't say a word to him. Oh look here he comes." Snake came walking
into the diner and finally sat down with Joey and Wheels. "I am so sorry my mom seriously wouldn't let up on me." Snake explained.
So after their lunch the three friends went their own ways. It had indeed been the best damned summer Wheels and Joey had ever had in their lives. Joey decided he would keep his job and keep working with Wheels. However that summer was also just the very
beginning of all the events that would soon unfold in their lives.
(A/N: Well this is a prologue chapter, there will definitely be more to come although I'm extremely worried that this chapter was extremely sloppy and horrible. I'm sorry if it was. I'm trying as I said it was just a prologue the normal chapters will be
a lot longer. I mostly started the Prologue to see if my story had potential if I should continue. Lemme know, be kind, don't be
too harsh.)
