Say, question?
Imagine the Genshin Impact story but the inspired elements of the Middle Earth? Such as Lord Of The Rings and Hobbit. Imagine that kind of stories of Genshin Impact but in similar plot elements of those films, notably such as Lord Of The Rings. (Hobbit Trilogy is decent but LOTR is still superior)

Grunted in slight discomfort, eyes opened as muffled glee occurs. Lumine's vision becomes less hazy seeing none other than Paimon floating front of her.
"You're okay!" Paimon cheered.
"Paimon?" Lumine muttered out as she slowly gets up, seeing herself lying in a poor makeshift bed. Grunting due to how uncomfortable it is. "What happened?"
"Well-" Paimon is about to answer.
"That was pretty awesome!" Another female voice spoke out as Lumine turns to see no one, but then looks up to see a girl similar height as her sitting on the tree branch that is providing shade underneath. Her attire is instantly recognizable from her eyes.
"You're the..." Lumine spoke out.
"Yep!" She gets up and flips off the branch, landing the ground on her feet. "You, just made my day feel any better than before!" She turns with a bright smile. "My body felt so hyped! I've been on cope for a long time. It's hard to have fun when you're told to."
"So, why save us?" Paimon asked as Lumine is now standing.
"I thought I would want to. Plus, you don't look like you're from around here." The mysterious girl tilted her hand, placing her fingers on her chin into a thinking posture. "Could you mind telling me where you're from?"
"I'm just a traveler." Lumine explained.
She stares at Lumine, "Not telling me where you're from?" She pondered. Then she pointed her finger gun as the catalyst appeared from behind as purple electricity builds up. Lumine sees this and quickly makes her defensive stance, summoning her own sword as Paimon quickly goes behind her. The both each other stared, then the girl's smile turns into a grin. "Huh, so a tough girl, eh?" She then lowers her hand as electricity dissipate and the catalyst disappears. "I like that, I like it a lot."
"Huh? So all that was to test us!?" Paimon exclaimed.
She nodded, "Well, the name is Zandra." She introduced herself as she gives out a fist. Lumine looks at her, with a defensive glare. "It's just a fist bump." No response, "Come on, just a single tap." Lumine looks at Zandra, for now, she can't read her. Still holding her sword, she used her other hand to slowly raise up and fist bump. "There we go, now we're friends!" Zandra gleamed.
"Friends?" Paimon perked up.
"We just met..." Lumine added. In response, Zandra giggled, the two look at her, she is such a weird girl.
Just then, they felt a slight cold breeze, Zandra also notices it. "Oh great, the others are here."
"Wait, so this isn't your camp?" Paimon asked.
"This?" Zandra gestured the camp area, "Nah!" She shook her head. "But, you should put the sword down if you don't wanna get killed." She walks close to Lumine and Paimon.
"Wait, huh?!" Paimon exclaimed.
"Do as I say." Zandra whispered. With that, Lumine complied and makes her sword disappear.
Then they sees whose coming, two men, one taller than the other who remains similar height to the likes of Zandra and Lumine. The tall one whose attire has black and dark blue colors while the other shows a beige and brown.
The traveler and guide sees their weapons by their side, a lance and a bow. The tall one walks front while the other stay behind, he has its cold blue eyes glaring at them while the other looks slight surprised.
"Zandra, what have you done?" The man with a bow asked.
Then the tall one holding the lance stops in front of the group. "You brought outsiders, Zandra..." He stated. They see he has some pieces of ice around him, guess that explains the slight cold breeze occurrence.
"Hey, Xavier Boss! Jonathan!" Zandra provides a nervous smile. "How's your day?" She asked. "Been chilling for something, right?" She chuckled by her own joke.
"You are told to stay off grid." Xavier stated.
"I know, but crazy coincidence, I was about to head at the rendezvous point here since you called here." Zandra explains. "Then these guys are here and I decided to help them. So it's cool, right?"
Xavier stares at Lumine and Paimon, "Not cool." He grunted. Then suddenly, ice starts to form up around his body, then they witness an tall ice giant as it picks Lumine up, Zadnra winced by this and hopes he goes gentle on them.
Paimon yelped, "Lumine!" But was stopped when Jonathan has his bow aiming at her.
Then Lumine sees that she stares at the ice figure, "Who are you, Lumine?" Xavier questioned her.
"I'm just a traveler..." Lumine stated sternly.
Unconvinced by her response, Xavier turns to Jonathan, "Check her memories, see if she's telling the truth." He lowered for Jonathan as he lowered his weapon, as he reaches for her forehead with his hand. Then a single touch happened, Lumine felt something enter into her mind...
There are memories she saw, from the Statue gaining the Anemo power, meeting Paimon, survivng alone, then... The Unknown God attacking... Aether... My brother!
Just that, Jonathan stagger back in a couple of steps, causing surprise for others. Jonathan slightly gasped by seeing what he saw. Lumine snapped out, seeing what Jonathan has witness, seeing his expression of shock.
He goes to Xavier, closer, "She is Descender... From the outside..." He whispered in a pained tone. This caused Xavier to turned to Lumine in an instant he confirmed. She stares at the ice figure, then the ice head deforms showing Xavier's face as the rest also does the same. Jonathan grunted as he held his head, "I barely saw what's rest, only the recent, I couldn't read them all... Her memories are... Long." He said.
Xavier stares at Lumine as Paimon grew worried. "I'll deal with you two later, Zandra keep them on your sight." He ordered.
"Yes, boss..." Zandra sighed in relief, she goes close to Lumine guiding her from a slight distance as Paimon followed. "Is that true what he said? You're not from this world?" She asked her.
"...Yes." Lumine replied as Paimon nodded.
"Huh... Cool." Zandra responded.
Back at the conversation, Jonathan slightly recovers, "Alright, what have you found?" He asked.
"Back at the infiltration of the Fatui campsite, I have gained their plans at Mondstatd..." Xavier explained. Lumine hears the conversation, not that he is speaking it secretly. Paimon recognized the word, Fatui, she knows little, but knowing they are from Snezhnaya. "It seems they are planning to involve themselves of a dragon attack that's happening here."
Dragon... Lumine recalled, the dragon and the boy... Seems Jonathan knows too, as he says, "The dragon is true, saw from her memories, along a boy whose seemed to comforting the dragon." He mentioned.
"So, those rumors are true..." Xavier muttered. "The Anemo Archon remains here in this world, after all this time..." He stopped as he then raised his voice. "We have know their plan, we must find the Anemo Archon before they can take their Gnosis."
Gnosis? As Lumine and Paimon heard the word, they have no idea what that is.
"About that, Zandra's actions has already gained attention from Mondstadt, the explosions are not a natural thing, especially if it's not theirs." Jonathan stated.
Xavier sighed in frustration, Zandra yelped, "Okay! Okay! I know I messed it up." She worried. "Don't worry, I have a plan to fix this!" Spoken with determination.
"This is new..." Jonathan deadpanned, as Xavier isn't convinced by this, crossing his arms.
"So, they know we are there, let's just join Knights of Favonius. We are already allied with them." Zandra suggested.
"The mission is suppose to be in secret. Not to mention the Fatui are investigating, that could compromise Xavier's position." Jonathan remarked. "And it wasn't an alliance, we were just known by them." He sighed. "So, how can you find a way to sneak this in without much suspicion?"
Zandra winced, then she has an idea. "They can cover it for us." She pointed to Lumine and Paimon.
"What?" Lumine blurted.
Zandra nodded. "We can bring them to the city and-"
"No." Xavier replied.
"Aw, come on!" Zandra whined, "Look at them, we can take them as traveler partners. That way we can gain their trust without explaining our true mission to find the G-thing."
"Gnosis." Jonathan corrected.
"No. This is a terrible idea." Xavier interjected.
Lumine stares, wondering what's his problem as Paimon speaks, "Paimon hates to say it. Ice man is right!" She huffed. "You are basically using us for your own goals! And Paimon is not a mascot! Paimon is Paimon!" As she stomps her foot on the air.
"Don't act like you can just leave." Jonathan disputed. "You are risks we can't afford to let it loose."
Lumine widen her eyes by the statement, realized this will halt her search for her brother, "I am not staying here." She clarified.
"Not our concern of your doing." Jonathan instantly retorted.
Lumine clenched her fist, as he basically saying they couldn't care about her missing brother. Knowing he read her memories, he knows what he is saying, angry, Anemo winds builds up. Jonathan sees wind energy around her fist, he readies his bow...
"Woah, woah!" Zandra jumped in between the two. "How about a time out? Let me speak to her and then-"
"Zandra..." Xavier chided.
"Ahahaha, let me talk to them..." Zandra moves Lumine from afar a slight distance. "Yo, you can't leave me with these guys! They are so tight!" She begged.
"This is a waste of time..." Xavier muttered as he facepalmed.
"...Come on, I always wanted to have another girl in the team..." Zandra pleaded.
Lumine crosses her arms. "I am not joining your group." She stated.
"Yeah, didn't you hear what Paimon said!?" Paimon joined in.
"But what about for... Friendship?" Zandra asked. She is meet with deadpan looks of both Lumine and Paimon, she winced by their expressions... "Okay, or how about... What are you two trying to do?" She asked.
Lumine's face shifted as she lower her arms, "Looking for my brother..." She answered, no point in lying.
"He's missing?" Zandra wondered.
"We are separated by some kind of God, and if I landed in this world, he must be here..." Lumine explained, glancing away while in a much softer tone. "And maybe the other Archons can help me..."
However Zandra sees the sadden look. Her usual smile faltered, gaining a look of sympathy. She then smiles again, "...How about this? You can join our group, and we can explore the world of Teyvat and find your brother?" She suggested.
"...Really?" Lumine questioned.
Zandra nodded as she wanders and ponders aloud, "Yeah, I mean our goals are connected, you are looking for the Archons, same as us. And, we are known to travel other nations!" She gleamed.
Lumine and Paimon perked up by this. "You mean you can help Lumine find her brother?" Paimon asked.
"Sure!" Zandra replied. "From Liyue, Sumeru, Fontaine! Loo, we look for the Archons, we get both our answers."
Lumine will agree, however... "And what about him?" She asked, staring at Xavier whose been watching the conversation.
"You, let me worry about him." Zandra reassured.
"...Okay, I accept to join." Lumine accepted the offer.
"Paimon agrees." Paimon added.
"YES!" Zandra burst in happiness, "New friends! Here we go!" She runs up to Xavier. "So?" She asked.
Xavier sighed by this. "Fine." He muttered then looks at Lumine and Paimon. "We will work together, but for now you will follow what I have said, then we will find your brother." He demanded.
Now Lumine really starts to hate this guy, "Fine." She grunted while crossing her arms. Paimon thinks this guy is way too mean, she need to start giving them nicknames...
Zandra chuckled nervously, despite the agreement, their tension still arise even more...
Time passes by, the group together are on the main path that leads to Mondstadt. Lumine is at the front with Paimon as Zandra catches up with them, while Jonathan and Xavier are at the behind.
"So..." Zandra whispered to Lumine. "How do you feel?" She asked.
"I'm fine." Lumine stated with not much emotion. Zandra winced by seeing this response. Lumine find the dumb deal, join them to find her brother, but right now she follow them. How did it come to this...?
"Stop right there!" A voice spoke out, they stopped to met a girl with brown hair and orange-gold eyes. Her attire consists of red, dark brown and white colors as she arrived in front, "May the Anemo God protect you, stranger..." She just noticed Zandra whose waving at her. "Zandra?"
Zandra waved. "Long time no see, Amber!"
The girl named Amber crossed her arms, "I knew it was you who made the explosions." She said with a sigh. "Had the city in worries, we have to check if Klee wasn't out. Especially the recent Hilichurl attacks."
"Yeah, sorry about that..." Zandra chuckled. Then Amber sees Xavier and Jonathan, not knowing who Jonathan is, but Xavier, it's a different story.
"Xavier?" Amber slightly exclaimed, seeing him as he nodded. "I haven't seen you since... Last year."
"Yes, it has been a while..." Xavier replied, recalling the time he arrived in Mondstadt, where he has secretly met the Knights, along green haired girl, currently in Sumeru. He has helped them against a Fatui trouble, though... Not for their cause... Best to still keep it secret.
"So, what are you doing here in Mondstadt?" Amber looks towards Lumine and Paimon. "Hm, you've brought some strangers. You two don't look like Mondstadt citizens..."
"I'm Lumine." Lumine introduced herself,.
"Doesn't sound like a local name..." Amber replied as she looks at Paimon. "And whose the mascot?"
Lumine smiles as she gestures Paimon, "This is emergency food." She said.
"Hey! That's worst than a mascot!" Paimon exclaimed as Zandra giggled.
Zandra adjust herself, giving the two a hug as she explains, "These are my new friends travelers. We are helping Lumine find her brother."
"Yeah, she got separated from a long journey." Paimon added.
"Oh... You are looking for your family." Amber replied with a sympathy tone. "Well, unfortunately we have a dragon situation recently here on Mondstadt. So, I need you to get you into the city as soon as possible."
"We are already heading to the city." Zandra replied.
"Okay, well, I, Amber, Outrider for the Knights of Favonius, will escort you there." Amber stated.
"Um. Aren't you out here for some other reason?" Paimon asked.
"Don't worry, I can keep you both safe while doing that too." Amber replied. "It's the least I can do for you. Besides, I haven't trust you two yet." She mentioned Lumine and Paimon.
"That's a rude way to speak." Lumine remarked.
"Ah, sorry. Probably not something I should say as a knight." Amber readjust her nervous composure. I give you my apologies, uh... Strange yet... Respectable travelers."
"That sounds so fake!" Paimon exclaimed.
"Do you have something against the type of language usage prescribed by the Knights of Favonius Handbook!?" Amber questioned.
"Really? Still using the book?" Zandra giggled. "That is such an awkward line."
"It's the best way to approach strangers in a responsible manner!" Amber pouted towards Zandra. Lumine sees this rivalry between the two, Zandra and Amber, the rebel and the outrider... Just then, a battle cry interrupted them. They all stop to see a Hilichurl arrived with others from the nearby camp. "A Hilichurl!"
More of them charged at them, Amber summons her bow and Jonathan joins in, shooting down the front ones. Lumine and Zandra stood front, as they charged when Lumine summons her sword and slashed one of the Hilichurls.
Zandra ducked a club swing, before delivering a strong push kick, sending it flying along being electrified. She aimed her fingers, revealing her catalyst shooting the first one stunned. Lumine then participates in front, then summons a powerful wind surge combined by Elector elements, it caused to reach the other dropping them into the ground.
"Woah!" Amber is wowed seeing the feat, even Zandra and Jonathan are perked by this. Lumine then took the opportunity to immediately finishes the rest, by rushing and slashing them down before they can get up, before finishing the last one with a stab.
She had plenty of energy, plus she was pissed, need to vent out her anger. Evident by her expression.
"Yeah.. She's skilled..." Zandra murmured.
"I gotta say, those moves are impressive." Amber replied.
Lumine turns to Amber, "Just needed to get some action..." She said.
"How come there are so many Hilichurls appearing?" Paimon wondered. "They don't look like the type to set camp close to cities."
"Correct, they always camp further out in the wilderness." Amber nodded. "But the dragon, Stormterror appeared recently and destroyed our orchards and the local market has been affected as well." She explained. "And worst, storms hits, we usually ended up with a few injuries and the Knights of Favonius have been tied up doing their best to defend this area."
"Hence, their recent activities." Jonathan mentioned, as he recalled he has defeated a Hilichurl camp, but he never thought they are this close.
Amber nodded again. "Yeah, so clearing this camp does help the city feel a bit safer." Xavier meanwhile gazes at Lumine, her fighting style... Brutal. Not to mention her expression... He'll keep it quiet for now... "Right now we are close! A responsible knight must make sure you guys are head to the city safely!"
With the statement, they continue to their destination.
"Here we are... Welcome to Mondstadt!" Amber introduced them, the city... Lumine sees the city, from the outside it does not look to be a city but just a tad large town. But she'll admit, it does look like good place. From entering thought impressive secured vast walls that surrounded the city. She sees the style of vintage within the structures and the roads.
"Ah..." Zandra sighed. "Finally, some no more camping outdoors..." She whispered.
Paimon then sees there are a few people there, and some having the slight gloom look on their faces. "The people here don't seem too happy..." She noted.
"That's just due to Stormterror's attacks. This used to be a bustling street, but now there business has been lowered. Except for the local tavern near the city wall over there. They haven't been affected. If anything, their business is better than ever." Amber assured. "But we are fine as long Jean is with us."
"Who's Jean?" Lumine asked.
"Jean Gunnhildr, she is the Acting Grand Master of the Knights of Favonius of Mondstatd." Jonathan explained. "Maintains the entire city." He added.
"Gosh..." Paimon muttered.
"Yep! So despite the current situation, with Jean on our side, even the vicious Stormterror will be no match for us." Amber stated.
One person, maintains this entire city? Lumine thoughts about her, she seemed very impressive by her position. Wonder if she knows about the God of Anemo...
"Well, Lumine?" Amber's voice interrupted her thoughts, gaining her attention on her. "About your missing brother, I can help you put posters around the city, it's the least I can do before I finish my other stuff."
To this surprise by Lumine, she smiles, "Thanks, Amber... I appreciate that." She said.
Amber smiled back, "It's okay." She said. "In fact, I have something to give you. A reward for helping clear out that hilichurl camp."
"Hm?" Lumine perked up.
"Um, don't Paimon get a reward?" Paimon asked, Lumine glanced comically, she didn't do anything...
"Ah, that reward is useless to you, Paimon. But, I can treat you with a traditional Monstadt delicacy, Sticky Honey Roast." Amber replied.
"Sticky Honey Roast!" Paimon nearly drool by hearing the food.
"Mhm..." Zandra nodded.
"Not you Zandra." Amber stated with a stern look. Zandra had a look of betrayal. "Don't forget your past actions..."
"But!..." Zandra tries to plead but with Xavier behind glaring, she solemnly downcast.
"Alright, meet me at the city's... High ground." Amber pointed to the destination. "Would you like to join?" She asked the others.
"We'll wait for you." Xavier replied. With that Amber nodded and takes off, Lumine and Paimon follows her to the city's high ground.
They managed to arrive the location, going up the stairs to the highest point of the city. Amber has her hands behind her back. Taking the stairs, is slightly exhausting, sure she's a traveler, but that does not mean stairs are the best friends of travelling!
"So what is it?" Lumine asked.
Amber grinned, then presents... "A Wind Glider!" As she shows the large pair of wings. Seeing a surprised expression of Lumine. "It's an Outrider's feature, helps you ride the wind, and one of Mondstadt's traditions."
Lumine takes it, as she looks. Reminded the time she had wings... "You are really excited about these wind gliders, huh?" Paimon remarked.
Amber giggled, "It's because the wind is the heart and soul of Mondstadt! I want Lumine to experience it." She said. "So?" She asked Lumine. "Would you like to give it a go?"
Lumine then looks at Amber, giving a smiling nod. "Of course."
"Right Then enough talk!" Amber beamed. Later, Lumine is now wearing the glider behind, concealed at her back. All thanks to Amber's help, Paimon watches, eager to see this out. "Now, it's easy to use. But make sure to listen my instructions." Amber advised as Lumine nodded in response.
Back at the familiar area of the city, Xavier and his group are waiting by, Zandra is observing the training on going at the high ground. There she non-audibly seeing Amber is guiding Lumine as they jumped off the ledge before summoning the glider wings with Lumine taking it smoothly.
Zandra wowed, Amber from the distance even giving out compliments to Lumine. Unknowingly this isn't the first time she had wings...
Meanwhile Xavier and Jonathan also watches the scene. Jonathan impressed by Lumine's adeptness to this skill, though not much surprised. "She's good." He commented.
Silence... But Xavier decided to speak, "I still do not like this idea." He said.
"Yeah, Zandra isn't the type of girl to be quiet. Unless Lisa is here." Jonathan joked.
"I'm talking about her." Xavier reminded about Lumine. "We shouldn't rely nor trust her."
"I recall you put your faith with Amber and Collei. And in us." Jonathan mentioned.
"The last year was different. Lumine is different." Xavier stated. "We should not rely on the unknown, especially her nature." He added the last in a whisper.
"You know... She has been struggling." Jonathan remarked. "Lost a brother, surely you can relate, about 500 years ago..."
The statement made Xavier glared at him, but Jonathan remain unfazed to which he sighed. "For years since I hired you, this is the second mention." He said. "Don't speak of this again." Thus leading Jonathan sighing, due to his retort.
"It seems the wanderers has returned..." A voice spoke out as the men turned to see a man. He has tanned skin, blue hair with streaks of lighter blue, attire while having a half cape, with white collared blouse, and dark trousers with knee length boots... His notable trait has to be his eyepatch, while his other eye is periwinkle, along having a diamond-shaped pupil. And his loose belt is holstering a Vision, a Cyro.
"Oh hey! Kaeya!" Zandra waved at the man as she sees him. Xavier maintains his suspicion along with Jonathan.
"And the returning visitors have brought up a new ally... Or, a new storm." The man named Kaeya speaks.
Suddenly the sky has darken as soon as Lumine and Amber are on the ground. They look up as the people available outside worried.
"They sky..." Amber murmured as Lumine continues gazing.
And just that, the dragon has flew from above. It's vast size flew above the city, up close. It destroyed a part of the building towers, people panic and run to safety while Lumine stood. The dragon flies up and stays in the air, roaring.
The dragon is here... Lumine watched.
"We gotta go!" Paimon yelped. Amber then takes Lumine's arm and runs off with Lumine now catching up.
With that tornados are summoned. Three at a time, rampaging all around the city. everyone was running but one of the tornado close up on Amber and Lumine who are the far behind the fleeing crowd.
And just that, Lumine was pulled by the tornado.
"Lumine!" Amber exclaimed. Paimon gasped, but they have no choice to but to go further away from the storm...
Meanwhile Xavier watches the scenes as Jonathan and Zandra along with Kaeya who decided to settle this later, begin to help out the people.
Dragged by the wind, Lumine grunted by the struggle, and just that she was launched up. The Glider! She then used it and she has stayed up float in the air. Then she gazes down seeing the chaos happening on Mondstadt city.
She gasped, but until she sees the dragon is heading towards her. No way to dodge, due to the glider, she disengage the wings, managing the roll herself through the wind and avoided the dragon's charge.
Opening her glider again, Lumine looks around, still in the sky, looks clean compare to the disaster storm. Why isn't she descending?
"I'm preventing you to fall." A mysterious voice spoke out, Lumine widen her eyes, as she looks around, seeing no one.
"Who are you?" Lumine demanded.
"Doesn't matter. I am giving you the power of a thousand winds. Concentrate, try grasping the wind you done before. Harness its energy." The voice instructed.
Lumine sees her hands, just like from before she used the elements. Wind energy charges up in her palms. With that, she shoots out a powerful wind surge blast at the Dragon, then after the blast, a streams of wind energy rapid fire continuing the assault.
The dragon swerves around the air, but she proceed to flow it thanks to the mysterious voice, she remain up float and continue firing. This infuriated the dragon, with no choice as it flies straight high, disappearing within the clouds.
"Nice one, traveler!" The voice complimented. "Well, I done all I can do, have a safe landing!" With that the voice is gone, and Lumine now feels herself descending to the ground...
Amber runs to where Lumine has landed, grabbing her shoulders examining any injuries she has. "Are you okay!?" She worried.
"Yeah... I am." Lumine nodded.
"Paimon was so worried!" Paimon exclaimed. "What happened?!"
"I... Got some help..." Lumine replied. Much to confusion of Paimon and Amber. "It's hard to explain..."
"Okay, but still, you managed to save Mondstadt!" Amber replied. Then someone arrived into the situation.
"Your 'ally' has certain surprises." Kaeya and Xavier arrived with the rest are busy with the outskirts.
"Kaeya! Stormterror has attacked Mondstadt itself!" Amber urged.
"Hold on Amber." Kaeya replied. "Should you introduce the newcomers?" He referred to Lumine and Paimon.
"Oh right!" Amber recalled as she regain her composure. "Lumine, Paimon, this is Kaeya, our Cavalry Captain. And Kaeya, this is Lumine and Paimon, travelers from afar, assoicated with Xavier."
"The latter I know, but travelers of afar?" Kaeya wondered.
"Eh, long story short..." Amber begins to explain the whole story...
Yep. Mentioning the Genshin Impact Manga. If anyone would like to see the prequel spin-off version of this, I can do so if I managed to finish the Sumeru Season.
If wondering whose my favorite Genshin Impact character? I have three kinds...
Lumine is my prefer traveler, Collei is my favorite female character, and Cyno is my favorite male character.
Honorable mentions of those who I like; Almost everyone in the game.
I hate anyone who influenced me to play this obvious gacha, open-world game. Have a great day!
