Chapter 15

THE EYE HALLWAY

The team sneaked into the fire exit of the building with no security in sight.

Batwoman looks around in each corner of the corridor. 'Security cameras?' She asks cautiously.

Oracle is tapping on her tablet. 'I shut them down in some areas of the building. We should be safe.

Batman turns to everyone. 'We need to find Project Revival. Gordon, you know where it is?'

Gordon nods. 'In the basement.'

'And Dick?' Batwoman asks quickly.

'The lab is on the fifth floor.' He responds. 'And Sarah's bedroom is on the sixth.'

Oracle turns away after hearing about Sarah. 'I'm going there.'

'No.' Batman responded. 'I told you the rules if you want to stay. Stick with Gordon no matter what.'

'I agreed to it but I also said I'm coming to get her. She's my responsibility!' Oracle snaps.

'And I get that. Which is why we're going into teams.' Batman said. 'You are going to level five with Gordon and Catwoman and then to Level six for Sarah. I'll go to Level six with Batwoman.'

Catwoman flirty smiles at Batman, turning to him as she strokes her finger on his face. 'What? Can't be around me, Bats?'

Batwoman quickly pulls her arm away 'I know you're doing that to annoy me and it's working. Paws of my man kitty!' She snaps. 'Batman, you know that Mr. Silver might be expecting us, right? I mean if he is smart like you said he is, he isn't going to just let us waltz in here freely.'

Batman nods in agreement. 'Security cameras are off but you are right. His eyes are every where, just like he said.'

'And what about Jessica?' Batwoman spoke, feeling nervous knowing she might see the woman she killed. 'If she is alive and dangerous like Gordon said, we need to save her too.'

Catwoman also points out. 'Don't forget the people who came out of the project like Lady Bats Mom for example.'

Batwoman winces at the mention of her Mom. The idea of seeing her again after finding out she is alive after all these years shocks her to the core.

Batman nods. 'We'll deal with it as it comes to it.' He turns to Batwoman. 'You're going to be okay?'

Batwoman swallows hard. 'I'm gonna have to be.'

Batman nods as turns to Oracle. 'Any cameras in the Elevator?'

'No.' Oracle responds, as she looks onto her pad. 'There's only one elector in this end of the building but there are stairs round the corner.'

Catwoman places both her hands on the handle of Oracles wheelchair. 'I'll take Oracle to the Elevator. You two can take the stairs.'

LEVEL SIX-JAMIE ROOM

Jamie is packing up some minor stuff in her bag. Anything she can find that's important like clothes, toothbrush, toothpaste and her photo of her and Barbara when she was a baby. She hides the photo quickly, to make sure Dick doesn't noticed as he leans, observing outside of the room, making sure security doesn't comes in.

'Jamie…' Dick whispers in pain. 'You're nearly done?'

'Yes Mr. Grayson.' She responds quickly.

'You don't have to keep calling me that.' He said with a calm gentle smile. 'Call me Dick. You have the right, considering you just saved my neck.'

'It's just the right thing to do.' Jamie pulls her backpack round her shoulders. 'You need a rest?'

'No time.' He pulls himself away from the wall with much strength he can gather. 'Why didn't we see any security? I thought one will be here by now.'

Jamie looks at him, worryingly. 'I don't know.' She said truthfully. 'They're usually a lot more cautious around here. Even I sometimes find it difficult to sneak around. Something else is going on.' Her eyes widens in realisation. 'Oh no.'

Dick looks at her with realisation. 'They're expecting us.'

Jamie grabs Dick by the hand. 'We need to move fast.'

FLOOR FIVE

The elevator stops as Catwoman walks out.

'You get the kid, I'll get the bird. I'll meet you on the ground floor.'

Gordon nods. 'Good luck.'

Catwoman shrugs. 'Hey. I still got nine lives in me.' She said confidently.

Gordon presses the button as Catwoman quickly goes to the lab.

FLOOR SIX

Gordon and Oracle arrive to the floor. The two leave before bumping into Dick and Jamie.

'Barbara?' Dick gasps.

'Jamie?' Oracle cried.

'Mom!' Jamie shocked.

'Mom?' Dick asked in confusion.

Jamie jumps towards Barbara, embracing her with a hug.

'Jamie. I missed you so much!' Oracle cried, tears flowing down her cheek as she held her child that she thought was long dead.

The young man looks at the two, realising who Jamie remind him of. The secret he never knew for so long and after realising she said that she misses Jamie, dawned on him. The only thought he had was… "I have a daughter?"

Jamie quickly pulls out and turns to her grandfather. 'You came!' She said in childlike glee, even though she knew he would.

'I made a promise.' Gordon said. 'I should have done this from the beginning.'

Dick shakes his head, deciding to get back on track. 'We need to move. Whoever these people are, knows you guys are here and expecting you.'

Oracle shakes her head. 'I've turned off the cameras, no one knows we're here.'

Jamie jumps manically. 'No you don't understand. This place is highly secured, they would have had security in every floor.'

Gordon eyes widen. 'She's right. The Eye Security would have been on every floor, they would have known we were here by now. Cameras or no cameras.'

'Selina!' Oracle realises. 'She's on Floor Five, trying to find Dick.'

Gordon groans in frustration. 'Always ten moves ahead. Should of realised.'

BASEMENT-HALLWAY

Batman and Batwoman both slowly moved down towards the corridor, observing the walls of electronics and burned metal. The smell of sewage that is flowing in the air that could have made anyone feel sick if the two didn't have experiences in these situations before.

'Stinks here.' Batwoman points out.

'They must of drilled underneath to the sewers.' Batman concluded.

'And no guards down here?'

'They know we're here.' Batman points out.

Batwoman eyes widen. 'When did you realise that?'

'Two minutes ago when it became too quiet.' Batman points out. 'They were hoping for us to be here.'

The two approaches a door, with a security lock containing a keypad on the wall.

'It needs a password.' Batman says, looking at the keypad.

'Try 2-0-2-0?' Batwoman suggested. 'Like the eye. 20/20 vision.'

Batman tries the number but it failed.

'Yeah that would have been too obvious.' Batwoman groans.

Batman nods. 'We need to think this more rationally. We need to get inside the man's head.'

Batwoman snaps her finger, as she grins in excitement. 'Try 1-9-4-0!'

Batman looks at her. 'Why-.'

'Just do it!'

Batman listens to her and types it in.

The doors unlocked.

'How did you know?' Batman asks.

'Jokers favourite year.' Batwoman said as she grits her teeth in disgust. 'Since Mr. Silver is his brother and if he is in rage that he died, then-.'

'He would want everything that reminds him of Joker.' Batman said, understanding her logic. 'His favourite number, his vision, his memory.'

Batwoman grins, in confidence. 'Not just a pretty face.' She said, as she sways side by side.

'No.' He answered softly. 'You're way more than that.'

The two hear footsteps coming from behind. Slow footsteps. The two turn around, to see who is approaching. In the shadows a woman speaks.

'You shouldn't have come here, Harley.'

Sarah merges out of the shadows, hands in her pocket as she gives Bruce a cold dead look of rage.

'Mom?' Harley asks in shock.

'You shouldn't have gotten her involved Bruce!' She pulls out her hand as he uses it to shake the ground they're standing.

The two jumped away before it sucks them in.

The two split apart, on each side of Sarah. The closest one to the door is Batman himself.

'Batman!' Batwoman shouted, gaining Batman's attention. 'I've got this, go stop the Revival!'

Batman nods, as he runs towards the door.

'Oh no you don't!' Sarah shouted, as she reaches her arms out to use her powers.

Batwoman quickly reacted by jumping over and swinging a red batarang, which whacks Sarahs hand out of the way. Batwoman lands on the ground, blocking Sarah from the door.

'Time to have a catch up, Mommy.' Batwoman smirks, as she pulls out a device in her pocket which she presses.

The device expands, forming into an electric mallet.

'It's hammer time!' Batwoman smile widens. 'God I love a bad pun in these situations!'

Sarah shoves both her palms to the ground, as the concrete slowly moves around her arms. 'Just remember, I'm doing this to protect you.'

'Well, newsflash Mom. I don't need protecting!' Batwoman jumps up as she swings her mallet in the air, slamming it down as Sarah uses the concrete to create a strong concrete fist, blocking the impact.

FLOOR FIVE

Catwoman sneaks into the lab, slowly approaching the centre.

'Dick?' She calls out quietly. 'Are you in here?'

No response.

Catwoman looks around, smelling the medicine and chemicals in the air, as she approaches towards the computer at the far end of the room. She slowly reaches out and turns the computer on, where there are huge amount of files and recordings in them.

Catwoman browses as she notices a name on there…

'Jamie Quinzel?' Catwoman spoke, as she opens the file.

The video is playing. The quality is old and static, but it's Jamie as a baby.

Mr. Silver is in the room with three doctors.

'Still no life signs again.' One of the doctors point out.

'Try again.' Mr. Silver smirks coldly. 'It's not like we got anything better to do with the brats body.'

The doctors nods nervously, as they injected a serum into her small hand. They waited patiently when suddenly.

'Waaah! Waaah!'

The baby awakes, shocking everyone. The screams of the baby crying roars the room.

'The project is successful, Mr. Silver. The babies life signs are rising by the second.

Mr. Silver chuckles. 'I thought it would. Now execute the child. I don't want that thing running around the place.'

The babies eyes glow green, as little Jamie screaming. A startled staff fall backwards to the ground in fear, as Mr. Silver stand unfazed. The Green glow forms around the baby, as a person materialises around her. A teenage girl, whose eyes are also green.

The recording of the video stops…

Catwoman moves back in amazement. She pulls out a USB stick and places it on the computer, transferring every files into it.

'Selina! We need to get out of here!' A voice shouted outside the lab.

Catwoman quickly runs out to the corridor, to find Gordon, Oracle, Dick and Jamie.

'They know you're here.' Dick shouted.

On cue, the group of soldiers arrived, surrounding the group.

Catwoman poses around as Gordon pulls out his gun to every direction he can find.

'Dick, you're able to fight?' Catwoman asks.

'I'm too beat up.' He answered. 'I might take a few down, but I can't promise anything.

Oracle objects. 'We can't fight here. Jamie is in the middle of this. If you guys fight, she might get hurt in the crossfire.'

'So, we surrender?' Dick suggested.

One of the guards speaks. 'We have our orders. Shoot to kill.'

Oracle eyes widen. 'Wait! We surrender. Just let Jamie go-.'

'We have orders to execute her too.' They shouted.

Oracle quickly holds Jamie, trying to protect her by using herself as a human shield for her own daughter.

Dick groans in pain. 'You're not killing anyone! I swear it!'

Before they knew, Jamie's eyes start to glow again, her whole body morphs slowly glows as an energy forms to the person that Catwoman saw in the video.

Everyone watches in shock and awe as Jamie starts to scream in pain.

'Jamie?' Oracle speaks out, scared for the young girl.

A person of a teenager appears, scaring the armed men in the process.

'It's Jennifer Hope!'

'That's what the Revival Project did to her.' Catwoman spoke. 'She can call the spirits from the dead.'

The student that they thought was dead by Harley Quinn, has appeared, as she raises her arms to the men, causing a massive light around them…

BASEMENT-DRILL ROOM

Batman runs inside, and sees Mr. Silver standing at his machine, eyes menacing it with glee.

'You took your time, Mr. Wayne.' He responded calmly. 'I honestly thought you be here a lot earlier. I guess you were held up with Mrs. Quinzel back there. Still fighting your fiancée?'

Batman looks at the machine, observing. The drill as dug a massive hole, showing the sewers and rats running around the walls.

'You're not late, luckily.' Mr. Silver turns to the Dark Knight. 'I didn't want the murderer of my brother miss the chaos I made for him. '

'I didn't kill your-.'

'Kill my brother, I know. But your "dispute" has created the obsession in you. His obsession was what draws him to Harleen Quinzel. That's what killed him. And you enabled that obsession by playing his little game of "cat and mouse." By catching and sending him to Arkham as well as taking little miss Harley away from my brother.' Mr. Silver puts his hands behind his back. 'My brother was always obsessive. I would have called it Obsessive Compulsive, but his psychosis was more appealing than that.'

Batman pulls out his batarang out of his belt, and holds it like a reverse knife grip.

'Shall we finish this, Batman?' He asks mockingly.
