In a new town
After kicking Jiriaya in the nuts again, Both Mika and Hinata gave him a stare that would frighten Orochimaru. "Teach Naruto something or we will keep on doing worse. Oh and if you steal from him again, like you just tried, we will do worse."
Jiraiya gave them a loathing stare, but sighed. "Fine, fine. I just need supplies." He whimpered, his nuts on fire. "Why do you keep doing that?"
Mika sneered at him. "We can't kill you and you keep all but letting us peg you there. You deserve it, you piece of garbage. Now do your duty!"
Growling, the man stomped off to get supplies and soon they were in a distant clearing. Mika and Hinata were staring at Jiraiya, impressing the fear of the Shinigami via their eyes at the man. Demanding he do his freaking job and train Naruto.
The old Sanin turned to them and sighed. "It ordered me to train you two as well. This technique is just for Naruto,... what do you want to learn?"
The two gave wicked smirks. "Sealing!"
He sighed. "Of course you pick the hardest of techniques... fine, give me a few minutes with Naruto."
And so they started to meditate, as they frequently did. Hinata keeping her eyes active in case the idiot Sanin abandoned them again. If people were after Naruto once, they would likely come again.
After about five minutes with Naruto, Jiraiya approached them and sighed. "You are lucky I have extra paper and ink on me."
Mika giggled. "We brought a ton as well, we were going to see if we could force you to teach us sealing."
The man pulled out a book, one that was old and worn. "I wrote this, many years ago. I keep a copy of all my books on me. This one is specifically on sealing. I want you to read it, copying the seals and kanji. Calligraphy is the key here, for the first stages. As you put it earlier, you need a solid foundation. I am sure you can manage it, your files state you both are exceptionally academically gifted, but remember Sealing is as much art as it is science or math.
I need to go to do some research, to find Tsunade. See you later, brats."
Hinata sighed. "So, as with it all, we end up teaching ourselves. Fine, we learn best this way anyway."
Mika nodded as Naruto exploded his balloon, going flying. "Yes, we will manage this without his help. Tsunade should be a seal master as well, we can just black mail her later."
"Agreed."
After hearing Naruto scream for the millionth time, Mika sighed. "Your technique, from what that idiot explained, is all about foundational chakra control to the max. Just refine your control. Idiot."
Naruto ignored him, growling at the balloon.
Rolling their eyes, Mika and Hinata turned back to the book. Making comments to each other all the while. "Curve you that kanji more. Write more firmly. "
So on this went for a while. Hinata's calligraphy was neater, thanks to her upbringing but Mika was a more voracious reader so he understood more of the Kanji present. Both understood the general direction of Seals rather fast, it was not half as hard as Jiraiya made it out to be. In fact, they both declared it to be rather fun. A challenge to their minds, like a puzzle they relished in getting the pieces together.
"""
Jiraiya was stunned, after he checked on Naruto popping the balloon and then later giving him the rubber ball he moved over to the meaner genin to see their progress. They were writing and creating seals with a delicate ease that so few could replicate. Like they had been writing seals for years.
Mika smiled. "Seals are pretty simple, fun puzzles and formulas. If you understand the foundation, it all comes together. Why is more important than what."
Hinata nodded. "Our background helps. My time as Heiress and his as a voracious reader. We got this."
He gaped. 'The same level of potential as Itachi is right. I read their files, Mika was a shoe in for ANBU but this girl... she is just as skilled. He may have helped bring it out, but the potential is all her. They are going to be something incredible.'
And that unnerved Jiraiya, far more than he would ever let on.
"""
A few weeks later
Mika and Hinata, having exhausted the book Jiraiya gave them, and knowing he wouldn't bother to teach them more, vowed to dedicate themselves to the craft of sealing in their own time at the village. They could easily manage, they had been teaching and caring for themselves for too long anyway, who cared if they had continue that pattern.
Soon, very soon, Hinata got tired of waiting to find the Slug Queen and opened her Byakugan. "She's over there." She said, and Jiraiya turned back. "I can see her, a pig and another lady. They all have a lot of chakra."
"Lead the way, Princess Hinata." Jiraiya said, smug.
"Call me that again and I will Poke you into an early grave."
The man frowned while Mika laughed. "She really will."
Naruto growled. "What did you do to Hinata, she used to be so nice?"
Hinata turned to him. "He helped me grow up. I was walked over by every one before, but now I have the power to fight back. I will never regret my change."
Chapter end, tell me what you think in the reviews.
This was a joy to write.
Love, your Ninja Overlord,
Mika.
