Resident Evil: Modern Warfare Chapter 11
"Bravo 2-6 to Watcher 1 we are approaching the Bioweapons Lab"
"Watcher 1 to 2-6 solid copy. The building has three floors plus the basement. Take the garage entrance at the rear of the building, head up floor by floor starting with the basement. I want that lab leveled to kingdom come."
"Rog."
"Almost done and we can get out of here right?" asked Claire
"Yeah. C'mon it's getting dark. We need to wrap this up and head for exfil."
The duo take the garage door entrance, closing it behind them. They make their way throught the basement , seeing the barrels of Nova 6 everywhere.
"Bloody hell."
"Kate, there's tons of Nova 6 still here." said Claire.
"Copy. Start planting the C4 and make your way to the third floor. There should be computers and transfer the data."
Claire and Gaz began to plant C4 onto the barrels of Nova 6.
"To think what would happen if this stuff goes around the globe" said Claire
"We've hit the jackpot here Claire, We blow this shit up, no one can use this again." Gaz adds.
They make it up to the first floor, planting more C4 trying to scour the building for any additional intel.
"There's tons of files everywhere." said Claire going through some and packing them with her.
"Rebecca should have more than enough to make a cure for the bloody gas. Good work Claire."
Second floor had more files upon files but of the Megaton variant.
"This Megaton one of those Bio Organic Weapons yeah?" asked Gaz.
"They share a mutation that anyone would have infected with the viruses I've come across" said Claire.
"Fuckin hell. Looks like not even Hazmat suits we're enough." said Gaz.
"Unless they had their face masks intentionally cracked to force the mutations happen." suggested Claire.
"We need to hesd to the third floor, maybe those computers have old footage of experimental testing" said Gaz.
The three made it up to the top floor to the last offoce with the computers there. But the main one had a note.
"The hell?" asked Claire turning on the main computer.
She then sees a video file on the Nova 6 testing on Rebirth Island.
"Put in the flashdrive. Gather everything there is on there"
The video goes through testing conducted in the 60s through the 80s as dozens of test subjects either dying on the spot or turning into the undead. The latter of which would attack scientists with it leading to dead bodies and armed personnel being left to burn the bodies of the dead.
Claire then fast forwards to the Megaton testing as hazamt suited volunteered for testing to see how resistant they could be to the gas. For the most part it works but then soliders break their masks and test a higher dose. Mutations occured with blisters and muscle mass is built on their bodies creating the Megaton.
Then footage was shown of an outbreak across the island where the infected we're locked inside the Prison block.
There was an outbreak here" said Claire.
"Eventually there would be. All that testing going on" adds Gaz.
Then the footage shows something recent. Makarov and Konni across Rebirth Island setting traps across the prison block where Makarov sets the master lock to open at a certain time.
"What does the note say?" asked Gaz.
Claire takes the note reading it.
"I knew you would come here. Good luck getting out"
In the distance there was a loud buzzing coming from the prison. The locked up infected all come rushing out in mass breaking through the entrance doors. Gaz and Claire look through the distance as a horde approach on their position.
"We good?" asked Gaz.
"Yeah. Got everything" said Claire
"Watcher 1, jackpot! We got everything we need. Heading towards the exfil point, be advised, Makarov set off a trap. The Island is overrun with infected." said Gaz.
"Soliid copy. Get the hell off the island NOW!" said Kate.
"Nik! We need a ride out of here. Island's crawling with zombies!" said Gaz.
"Head to prison roof, hold out until we arrive"
"Rog!" said Gaz.
"Gaz we got company!" said Claire pulling out her handgun.
"Fire escape! Quick!"
Gaz and Claire take the fire escape stairs out of the building back to the ATV.
"We need to head back to the harbor, Take the gondola straight up to the roof."
"On it. Keep us covered" Claire revs up the engine.
"Weapons hot! Drive!" said Gaz
The pair drive through the horde of infected making it to the dock.
"Jesus Christ!"
Gaz and Claire open fire onto the undead trying to slow them down and buy them some breathing room. Claire goes to the gondola seeing the switch ready to use.
"Gaz! Come on forget about them" shouts Claire offering cover fire.
Gaz sprints towards the gondola and activates the switch sending him and Claire out of harm's way for the moment.
"Nik, we're approaching the roof. What's the ETA on extraction?"
asked Gaz.
"Five minutes max. Try to stay alive until then" said Nikolai
"It's just us for the time being Claire. We hold out here until evac arrives. We'll cover both ends of the roof." said Gaz checking his ammo.
"Remember to aim for the head. Don't let them scratch or bite you" said Claire.
The moans of the zombies grew louder and louder as the zombies made their way up the stairs to the roof of the prison.
"Contact!" said Gaz opening fire onto the horde of undead.
The two held them back wave by wave keeping the undead at bay. They had the whole roof at their disposal as space but they knew the longer they'd stay on the roof, the smaller it would become.
Claire with quick precison and skill went for headshots in rapid succession making quick and swift reloads to keep the bullets flying. Gaz uses his assault rifle to thin the heard lasered focus on his side of the roof.
As the two kept the pressure on, more and more kept swarming in from both directions. Claire and Gaz kept up the fight inching closer and closer back to back. The horde was closing in fast. However hope arrives with Nikolai arriving just in time as the spotlight shining on them.
"Ready to go home Sergeant?" asked Nikolai going in for a landing on top of one end of the door to the roof above it. Claire and Gaz clear themselves a path forward running towards evac.
A loud roar was heard as the doors from the opposite end get smashed through off its hinges. A Megaton was sprinting towards them. To close the gap, the Megaton hurls a explosive projectile towards the two. Gaz sees this as he then pushes Claire out of harm's way.
"CLAIRE MOVE!"
The projectile knocks him to the side as he goes down.
"GAZ!" shouts Claire
She goes to check on him trying to get him back on his feet. Seeing this as the zombies closed in, Nikolai grabs an assault rifle to provide over fire.
Gaz heard ringing in his ears as his vision slowly comes back. Claire grabbed Gaz's assault rifle covering him. He then sees her protecting him keeping the zombies at bay along with Nikolai. Gaz then grabs his pistol to cover Claire while he was still down but his hearing returns.
"Kyle! You broken?" she asked running up to check on him.
"I'm good." he replies.
Claire hands him her pistol going to literally drag him across the roof while she shoots with one arm.
"HURRY!" shout's Nikolai prepping to pull them both up.
The Megaton was closing in as Claire desperately did everything she could to keep it back.
"CLAIRE! UP HERE!" shouts Nikolai.
"Can you get up Kyle?" she asks
"Yeah".
"Then on your feet soldier! WE ARE LEAVING!" shouts Claire pulling Gaz back to his feet.
Gaz goes first as Nikolai pulls him up towards the chopper.
"You got the intel?" asked Laswell stepping out of thr chopper with a sniper.
"Laswell?" asked Gaz.
She then moves Gaz out of the way providing overwatch going after the Megaton knocking it back.
"Claire! Let's go!" shouts Nikolai.
Claire then get's pulled up by Nikolai as she sees Kate covering them.
"Kate?"
"We're running out of time!"
The four make it inside the chopper witbh Nikolai prepping for takeoff.
The Megaton lets out a roar going to throw another projectile.
Laswell then looks down her scope and goes for the shot taking it down on its back.
"Nice shot Kate" said Nikolai.
"We got all the intel. We just need to set off the C4" said Claire.
"Got it" said Gaz setting it all off as the chopper takes off.
The team escapes Rebirth island as it burns behind them.
"We made it" said Gaz.
"We're not out of the woods yet." said Kate.
"Sergeant, I have Captain Price on the line.
"Send Traffic" said Gaz.
"Gaz, what's your status?"
"Mission complete sir. heading towards Al Mazrah."
"Rog. Good job son. Is Redfield safe?" asked Price.
"I'm in one piece Captain" answered Claire.
"Thank God. I owe you Gaz.
"Nah. I owe her. Saved my ass trying to get us out of here" said Gaz.
"Rebecca, we're sending you the intel and files to you now."
"Roger. Should be able to start the vaccine as soon as I get it"
"Let's go save the world" said Nikolai.
With Rebirth Island burning along with Nova 6, the team heads to Al Mazrah to save the day.
