The next day Tommy found himself alone in his lab waiting for his rangers to arrive. He tuned in his chair as Conner and Kira joined him.
"Where's Ethan?"
"He got called in to work to help Hayley they are slammed". Kira answered her teacher. "What's going on?"
Tommy rubbed his tired eyes. "I am getting a dino gem energy spike in this". Hespoke holding the ninja morpher. "But i don't know how to open it"
"Dr.O i'm sorry, Kira told me about your sister". Conner told him touching the older man's shoulder. "So a gem is locked in here?"
"Yeah. The morpher is Cayleigh's so i assume the gem is hers to". Tommy informed him. "I am thinking she would have been the only person to open it".
"Any other news on the ninja?" Kira asked.
"I saw her yesterday in Angel Grove, when Cayleigh died we made a memorial in her honor and the ninja showed up there". Tommy answered her.
" don't take this the wrong way, but are you sure that Cayleigh is actually gone?" Conner asked in a nervous tone. "Wait just hear me out. First she saved you from Zeltrax, next she shows up at a cemetary. Dr.O you told Kira there was no body, how do we know this ninja isn't her?"
"I hate to agree with him, i do but Conner has a point". Kira spoke getting up from her chair.
"If it was Cayleigh she would have reached out somehow". Tommy whispered trying to ingore the possibilty. "If it is her she won't stick around, she runs off"
"is there a place she would be known to go that she always found comfort in?" Conner offered.
"For me i always to to the roof of the Cyberspace with my guitar". Kira told the two of them.
"There is one spot, she would always go to the old ruins of the command center anytime she was angry or needed to be alone after Zordon died".
"Then go, go and see if you can reach her somehow". Kira suggested. "We will stay here and keep an eye out".
Tommy smiled at his three rangers. "I'll be back tonight". Tommy left the lab in hopes that he would find is sister and bring her home.
Angel Grove...
Tommy parked his jeep and made the climb of the cliff. He took in the view. "You know you would always come here. You would find refuge in this place everytime there was touble. Cayleigh if you are out there please come home.".
Cayleigh Oliver peeked around a rock to see her brother all alone. "I am home". She sent through their mental link causing Tommy to look around. Cayleigh put her hands on her heard hearing her spirit animal cry.
Tommy touched his chest hearing his own falcon cry out. "Cayleigh". He turned to see a cloud in the form of an eagle. His falcon erupted from his chest as the two birds flew towards each other. Tommy shook his head to clear his vision. When the two birds parted stood a figure. "Cay?"
Cayleigh looked up at her hero. "Hi bro". She whispered. "I am home"
Tommy closed the gap between them and hugged his little sister close. Cayleigh sobbed into his chest as she held on for dear life. "I got you. God Cay i thought i would never see you again". Tommy pulled away and cupped her face. "Are you okay?"
"I am now, i'm so sorry for what i did". She whispered. "How did you know i was here?"
"I took a chance, a part of me believed you were alive. When i saw the ninja in a battle and then at the cemetary something told me it was you.".
Cayleigh smiled up at her brother. "It was. I have never stopped keeping an eye on you. Listen i know you have a million questions do you have somewhere we can go?"
Tommy nodded. "I live in Reefside if you want to come with me?"
She agreed. Tommy wrapped his arm around her and led her to his jeep. He drove in silence until he got home.
"I guess the three bears are your neighbors?" Cay giggled out taking in her surroundings.
"Funny but you will see why i need the privacy".
They walked inside. "Let me guess you channeled your inner Zordon and is now the leader of three people that wear the three coloured suits? am i wrong?"
"Yes smart ass". He joked with her. "Now you have some explaining to do so sit".
"Yes master." She spoke taking the bottle of water from him. "If you want me to stay here the night my clothes are in Blue Bay so i need something to sleep in".
Tommy walked down to his room and grabbed some sweats and handed them to her. "Go shower, there is a shower in the spare room".
Cayleigh walked into the spare room and noticed four boxes with her name on it. She hopped in the shower then joined her brother on the couch. "My stuff is here?"
"Yeah, Mom and Dad sold the house in Angel Grove so i cleaned out our stuff and brough it here. The room can be yours".
She looked down as her hands. "I can't, not after what i've done".
Tommy leaned closer. "Talk to me. Cayleigh for six months we mourned you. I mourned you and yet your sitting in front of me at least talk to me".
She wiped her eyes. "When i went to blue bay last year i went for soccer wihich you know. What you don't know is that the legend of the Ice Ninja that was frozen in ice centuries ago was real".
"You mean the one Ninjor told you about years ago. The one about Sensei Moya. She was an outcast who betrayed her family so they sealed her away when she went on a revenge spree".
"That's the one. Anyway i found the temple but Lothor followed me and i ended up being used as her vessel. I caused a lot of damage to the academies and Blue Bay Harbour. The other rangers freed me from her by destroying her weapon that was linked to her." She started. "When i was freed i was ashamed of myself and wanted nothing more to fix things. Moya's spirit knew that so when she found peace she passed her essence and powers onto me so i promised her i would help the ninja storm rangers defeat Lothor".
Tommy motioned for her to go on as she pulled her knees to her chest. "After Lothor was gone i finished my tournament. Then the accident happened".
"Cayleigh why did you hide until now?" Tommy asked his sister.
"Because of what i did while i was possessed and because i caused someone's death i couldn't bear show my face to you or anyone so i stayed away. If it wasn't for the ninja rangers i probably wouldn't even be here now". She finished.
She scooted away from him as he reached for her. Tommy grabbed her knees. "Listen to me, Cayleigh look at me. You have nothing to be ashamed off you know how i felt when i turned evil even as a small girl and when i told you how my ranger journey started i felt the same way. I got my second chance when i got my white ranger powers and now you got yours when you got Moya's. Look what happened to you and Sarah was an accident and nothing more you need to forgive yourself".
"I'm trying Tommy i am but its hard". She told him.
"It will get easier. So how did you get the scar and the silver eye?"
"The scar came from training, i was building an ice wall but when i used it in battle it wasn't strong enough and i got thrown into it so the ice cut me. My eye is silver because of Moya's spirit its a reminder of the good in me and it shows me that i have become a strong and powerful ninja. I believed she picked me for a reason. Her eyes were silver"
"Cay i know what you went through was horrible but i am also proud of you and how strong you actually are like Zordon chose us. You will get through this but you need to stop running and trust me no one will judge or blame you". Tommy assured her. They turned as a growl was heard. "I take it the lion i am looking at is yours?"
Cayleigh giggled as the white animal walked over. "Yeah Naya was Moya's guardian so off course now she is mine"
"Cayleigh come home and stay. Stop running and let me in, let your ranger family in".
"Okay" She finally gave in. "I will get my stuff tomorrow."
"Welcome home" Tommy cheered as he pulled her in for a hug.
"So black huh?" She spoke taking his wrist."Stay still and relax. Ninjor gave us something to bind us with our mental link so now i am going to create my own bond with you".
Tommy watched as ice particles surround his black dino gem. The particles went into it and as it did Tommy felt a cold chill go throughout his body. Once it was over his black gem had a white spot in the middle. "What did you just do?"
"Your dino powers are infused with my ice powers. I bonded my ice essence with you since are blood. You will know what to do" She answered him. "You can also connect with Naya if need be"
Naya growled in delight and laid down in front of the two siblings. "Cayleigh there is only one more thing i want to ask you tonight?"
"Sure".
"Did you know there is a dino gem locked inside your ninja morpher?"
"Yes i did." She told him standing up. "I sealed it in there for safe keeping"
"Where did you find it?"
"The temple. When Moya was freed from me the temple collapsed from a fight and i found the gem in a statue. I knew what the gem was"
Tommy stood up and stood in front of her. "How? Cay how did you know?"
"You remember when you went to Mariner Bay to see Ryan and Carter? well i followed you and overheard you telling them the news about me and you told them you found the first three" She answered. "Tommy how are they?"
Tommy sighed rubbing her arms. "Not good. Carter shut himself off. As for Ryan he's doing his best. Cayleigh you know the two of them love you so much. Ryan loves you as a sister like he does with Dana and you know that. As for the gem do you know how to unseal it?"
"Yeah i do. Why?"
"So i can build you a morpher".
"You really mean that?"
"Off course i do, we need another girl on this team before Kira goes nuts. Look go get some sleep and we will talk in the morning because you look exhausted". He told her leading her to her bed. Cayleigh crawled under the blankets allowing Naya to laid next to her. Tommy closed her door behind him. He wiped his eyes in relief. He heard the doorbell ring.
He opened his door. "Sorry its so late" The man spoke sotfly. "But i was in the area"
"Ryan hey, its okay come in". Tommy managed leading him into the living room.
"I cleaned out my attic and i found this". He told Tommy handing him a huge teddy bear and a white blanket. "I won the bear when she stayed with me while you were gone to the mood. The blanket she kept when she left so i thought i would return it to you".
"Ryan there is something you need to see but for now please keep it between us". Tommy asked of him. Ryan nodded as Tommy led him down the hall and opened the door. Ryan looked in to see Cayleigh sound asleep.
"Oh my god, Tommy what? how?" He croaked out as his body began to tremble. He slowly walked in and knelt next to her head. He touched her cheek lightly but she didn't stir.
"Believe me its a long story. For now i want her to get some sleep. Ryan if you want you can stay since its couch pulls out". Tommy offered him. He agreed. Ryan covered the white blanket over her as Tommy laid the bear next to her head. Naya eyed Ryan. "Easy girl he's a friend".
"She won't eat me right?"
"No i think she understands your love for her". Tommy told him walking out of the room. "Trust me when i saw she wanted to tell you and all of us but she has been through alot this past year. But something tells me when she sees you in the morning it will make her day. The only person i am worried about right now is Jason."
Ryan nodded. "Why Jason?"
"When i lost my green ranger powers i ran away and shut everyone out. Jason grilled me about it and called me a coward. Trust me it took a long time for him to trust me again and now Cay is in the same position. I just hope they can mend each others hearts."
Ryan sat down on the couch. "Have you spoke to him?"
"He supposed to come to Reefside tomorrow to start up a new dojo". Tommy answered leaning against the counter. "I am going to give her a few days to chill before i break the news of her going to school".
Ryan got an idea. "Then if its okay with you can i steal her tomorrow, the carnival is back in Mariner Bay for the weekend and all next week so it would lighten her mood"
"Thats a good idea, it would give me a chance to fix up the spare room for her". Tommy told him with a smile.
As the two got tired they each laid down with their own minds swiriing with the events of the day.
