The next morning, Marinette woke up to the sounds of loud music playing and the smell of breakfast being made. She walked downstairs from the guest bedroom and was surprised to see Barry cooking up a breakfast combo with his super speed. Everything from pancakes, bacon, sausages, eggs, cereal, orange juice, coffee from Jitters, toast, and even croissants. Barry set up three plate settings and that was when he noticed Marinette on the stairs. "Oh morning, Marinette," Barry said with a smile.
"Morning, Monsieur Allen. That's a lot of food for just breakfast.' Marinette stated.
"You can just call me Barry. And as a speedster, I have to consume a lot of calories when running. But I figured that for your first day in Central City, we'd celebrate." Barry answered.
That was when all of the kwamis came out of Marinette's room from the smell of the food along with Iris. Marinette took a croissant and fed a few pieces to Tikki. She did like Barry's cooking, but it wasn't as good as the ones from the bakery. Barry did read Marinette's file and knew that Marinette grew up in a bakery and he was only trying to make her feel at home. She did appreciate Barry's effort to bring a little bit of her home here. She did like the rest of the meal; even the kwamis enjoyed it as well. Marinette made sure to change out of her pajamas and into some nice clothes.
She was now wearing blue jeans, a red shirt with the Flash's symbol on it, her favorite brown jacket, and white sneakers. Barry joked that Marinette was a Flash fan before finding out about his secret. She giggled and told Barry that Clark had been telling her about America's superheroes, that she got inspired by them, and that she made a few pieces of clothes based on them. Suddenly, Barry had gotten a text from Joe that he needed him at a crime scene near the museum. Marinette asked Barry if she could tag along and help out. He wasn't too sure, but she simply told him that she could handle herself.
The two headed to the museum where a few cop cars were, and the place was blocked with police tape. "Right on time for once, Allen. And I see you brought the criminal kid." one of the cops said with a snarky remark.
Before Marinette could say anything, Joe walked over to tell the cop to go talk to the witnesses. Joe explained to Barry that nothing was stolen but someone wanted the police to know that they were there. Barry looked around for any clues that might help identify the culprit. Barry noticed that most of the wall was smashed to bits, but the thing was, it was frozen. There was only one person who could have done this, Leonard Snart aka Captain Cold. He told Joe that he and Marinette were going to head to S.T. A. R. Labs to track Snart down. Marinette made sure that she stayed close to Barry as they left for S. T. A. R. Labs.
When they arrived at the lab, Cisco, Catilyn, and Wally were already in the cortex. Cisco asked Barry who the kid was. Barry explained Marinette's situation to them; Catilyn looked like she wanted to go all Killer Frost on Lila and Chloe. Cisco started working on tracking down Captain Cold. Marinette offered to help Barry deal with Cold, but he told her that he didn't want her to get hurt. "I told you before Barry, I've fought against akumatised supervillains from Hawkmoth. I think I can handle one criminal." Marinette stated.
"I'm sorry, Hawkmoth? Kind of cringy." Cisco commented.
"Cisco gives our metas codenames," Catilyn answered.
"And yours?" Cisco asked.
"I was called Ladybug back in Paris," Marinette answered.
"Ladybug? Okay, we have got to come up with a better name for you." Cisco stated.
Cisco managed to locate Captain Cold at an abandoned warehouse. Marinette used her miraculous to turn into Ladybug and join the Flash at the warehouse. When they arrived at the warehouse, the temperature was dropping fast. What was supposed to be an easy mission turned into a disaster. The person who was making the temperature drop wasn't Captain Cold, at least not the normal Snart. Captain Cold looked like he had just gotten an upgrade with most of his body covered in ice and his ice gun was one of his arms. Before Flash could even talk to Cisco on the comms, Captain Cold froze Flash's legs.
He tried to get Ladybug but she backflipped her way out of the blasts before she lassoed his ice gun arm. "Snart, you gotta snap out of it!" she stated.
But Captain Cold refused to listen and tried to freeze her. Thankfully, Ladybug dodged his attacks, she looked around for something to give her the upper hand. But Col had already gotten away, but she managed to help Flash out of the ice. They returned to S.T.A.R Labs to come up with a plan to deal with the new version of Captain Cold. "How did Snart even get those powers? He's always used his cold gun and he wasn't a meta." Cisco questioned.
Marinette cleared her throat, "He got those powers from Hawkmoth. That's why. I felt the akuma's present in the ice gun. Hawkmoth uses negative emotions to get his victims to obey him. That's why everyone in Paris has to repress their emotions in order not to be a villain." she explained.
"OK, how did you stop the villains before?" Cisco asked.
"I just need to break the akumatized object and capture the akuma. I'm the only one who can, my miraculous has the power to create. Cat Noir's power has the power to destroy." Marinette answered.
"Ok but that doesn't explain how Snart got turned in the first place," Catilyn stated.
"It's like what happened with Poison Ivy. If Hawkmoth is supposed to be in Paris, how are people getting turned into powerful villains?" Wally asked.
"It has to be someone who came from Paris. Marinette, did you have any suspects that might have been this, Monarch?" Cisco asked her.
"Well, I did have my suspicions with Gabriel Agreste. He had a copy of the Grimoire with the Miraculous Secrets. He's always so cold and distant even towards Adrien. But Gabriel was akumatized as the Collector. It couldn't be him." Marinette explained.
She gave Cisco the list of every akumatized victim from Paris that Hawkmoth had used before to help locate Hawkmoth's identity. The cortex alarms suddenly went off, Catilyn went to check the cameras to see that Captain Cold was breaking into S.T.A.R. Labs. Marinette told Barry to wait for her signal and then transformed into Ladybug. "Alright, The Flash and Lady Luck team up," Cisco commented.
Ladybug just rolled her eyes at Cisco's new name for her. She went after Captain Cold and managed to get him pinned down. She called out to the Flash who used a lightning bolt to destroy the ice gun into pieces. The akuma was captured by Ladybug and she even used her powers to fix the damage Captain Cold caused. They brought Snart inside to check on him; he didn't even remember what happened when he was akumatized.
