Hey, just starting this chapter with some author's notes. From this chapter onwards other P.O.V.s will be included in the story so that we aren't just looking at the story from Jaune's perspective. Also, feel free to comment what you think of the story.

Ren looked around, it was the dead of night. He had pushed himself to stay awake, careful not to push himself into unlocking a skill that may leave his sleep schedule messed up. Cautiously he got out of the bed provided by the Arc Family. He honestly felt bad for stealing from them, but he had too. Its already been a few days since he last returned, he has to hurry back.

She needs to be fed.

Slowly he pulled a bag out from under the bed and began stuffing it with pieces of food he had snagged from around the Manor. Small items, things that wouldn't be noticed unless you went over it with bit by bit. He knows the only one who would actually do that would be the Head Butler, Walter. Heck, for all he knows the Butler already knows what he is about to do, but he had to take that risk.

Slowly he gathered the last of the food he had snagged into the bag and hefted it over his shoulder. He stumbled from the weight before pulling himself back up. The bag was easily the same size as him, now all he had to do was drag it with him until he got back to the hideout.

With as much caution as he could muster he slipped through the door and activated his skill Unnoticeable. Deftly he walked down the halls of the Manor, taking the occasional glance at his surroundings. His Night Vision 4 (2) skill making the trek far easier than it had been before. He stopped as footsteps grew close to him. He straightened his back before leaning against the wall as two maids walked past him.

Ren let out a sigh of releif as the maids walked away. He waited for a moment, making sure that neither the maids or any other Manor Staff were passing by. Steadily, he continued his trek to the safe house, making it to the main door. He ran a hand over thr handle and twisted it.

Then he heard someone empty their throat.

Ren felt his body still as a cold sweat ran down his neck. Looking back he saw Walter, stading down at him despite his Unnoticeable skill being active. "Where do you think you're going Young Man?" Walter asked calmly. Ren stood frozen in fear, Walter looking down at him with a disappointed look. "Its an awful lot of food for one person, unless its not just yourself." Walter stated. Ren was frozen, his skill dispersing as he looked up at Walter.

He knows.

Word will spread.

They will come back to finish the job.

They'll kill her.

"Well, go on then." Walter said, causing his fear too turn too confusion. "What?" Ren croaked out. "You're feeding someone, someone that you don't trust us enough to meet yet. Just promise me you will be back with enough time to get some sleep?" Walter requested. Ren could only nod dumbly before turning back to the door.

"I will hold you to that Young Man." Walter said as I stepped out the door. Ren reactivated Unnoticeable before making a run towards the hideout. Making his way along a long practiced path, ducking under the large overturned tree before picking up his pace. The moon had flow across the sky before he finally reached the hideout.

A small cabin in the centre of the woods, a few miles away from the Arc Manor. It was run down and covered in plant growth, yet it remained sturdy. Calmly Ren put the bag on the ground and slid into the cabin, dragging the bag behind him.

"I'm back." he said quietly. Something moved in the back of the cabin before a large beast with bright turquoise eyes looked down at him. Gingerly Ren opened the bag and held it to her. Slowly a dragon with pink and white scales stepped out, barely larger than Ren himself, and stuck her head into the bag of food. "I'm sorry for being gone for a few days. They found me Nora." Ren apologized as the dragon pulled her head from the bag and looked at him with concern. "Its nothing bad, they're actually nice, but..." Ren trailed off as Nora nuzzled his chest.

Ren stopped talking, instead hugging Nora as her snout brushed against his chest. The two of them remained still, the only sound being their respective breaths. Nora shifted around, looking Ren in the eye. "I know, it's just... What would they do to you?" Ren asked. Nora's eyes narrowed before she shook her head. "Look, they want me to come back, they might look for me if I don't come back." Ren said as Nora whined. Ren put a hand on her head and hugged her again.

"I'll be back every other night, I promise. Just finish what I brought you and I'll get you some other gifts." Ren advised. Nora just huffed before pushing Ren to the ground. "Nora!" Ren shouted as Nora stuck her snout back in the sack of food while her forelimbs held him on the ground. Ren just grumbled, knowing that it would take longer for him to return to the Manor than he had anticipated.

Jaune held his training sword in a two handed grasp alongside his older sisters. Across from them stood their father, bandages on his forehead after his last mission. His mother was off to the side, his younger sister next to her while she cradled her pregnant stomach.

Yeah, He's getting another baby sister.

But that's besides the point. He's been training for a few weeks alongside his sisters and father. All the training with his family allowed his Swordsman skill too grow at a steady rate. As he assumed the same stance he had taken many times before and began swinging his blade. He took a short glance at his sisters, watching as Saphron and Bianca struck the training dummies while father helped Olivia adjust her stance. Olivia has recently gotten her own sword forged with father's help, so she was giddy over it.

As Jaune swung his sword once again he felt something change.

"Swordsman 2 (5) has advanced to Swordsman 2 (6)."

"User has grown to Level: Five, Racial Skills and Bonuses have been unlocked."

Jaune felt something strange in his body, before he dropped his sword and fell to his knees. His family stopped, father being the first to reach him. Something was aching in his back, "Son, Jaune, what's going on?" my father asked before he looked me over. "Where does it hurt?" he asked carefully while putting a hand out to my sisters. "Back." Jaune rasped out before he felt his father cut open the back of his shirt.

The pain was gone and Jaune heard the gasps of his family.

"User has unlocked the following Skills: Demonic Senses (1), Demonic Resiliance (1), Devil's Wings (1), Hp Recovery (1), and Demonic Magic (1)." Salem's voice said as Jaune looked over his shoulder.

Two wings, fairly large and leathery, now rested on his back. He felt along them before trying something. With simple thoughts the wings began to twitch. Jaune just watched in wonder as his new wings spread our and folded like a new set of muscles. "Oh Sweetie, how marvelous." Jaune looked over as his mother approached him. She ran her hands along his wings before smooching his forehead. "You've got your grandfather's Wings." She said while taking more time to examine them.

Jaune looked over, seeing as his sisters each reacted differently. Saphron just seemed concerned, Bianca seemed to be glaring at him in jealousy, while Olivia just lazily shook her head. Violet just looked out from the tree she had been hiding behind while he had been screaming. My father just looked at them before instructing them to; "Continue their training, this will only take a little bit." he followed it up with a stern look to make sure they followed his instruction.

Curiously I looked at my Status Screen just to see what had changed.

Unspent XP: 200.

Well, it wasn't anything drastic, but it was still nice to see the improvement. He had Five new skills to work with, all of which seemed self explanatory. The world around me was already far more detailed than it had been before and my mouth felt weirdly stuffed. Lulling my mouth open I saw that my tongue was now longer and ended with a sharp tip. Quickly darting it back in and clamping his mouth shut. Jaune heard his father laughing in the background as his mother just fawned over him.

"You feeling alright Jaune?" his father asked. Jaune just nodded while taking his hands off his mouth. "Alright." Sebastian ended it with a chuckle before handing h

Jaune his training sword back. "You got to level Five a lot quicker than your sisters. Try not to let that get to your head." my Father mused while pointing to the side of his head. "I won't dad." Jaune responded, still trying to deal with the weird feeling in his mouth.

It was just another day in his life after all.

Jaune lazed about, his father had left on yet another mission. Each of his sisters, except for Violet, were out of the Manor doing who knows what. Mother was busy preparing for the birth of his next sister while Walter was busy teaching Ren how to be a butler.

He was all alone today, with no idea on what to do. He sat up, flexing his wings as he did so. His parent had made sure that all his shirts were made so that his wings could still be out in the open, something about not wanting their growth to be stunted. Slowly he rubbed his neck before turning to the door of his room. His Appraisal had been giving him a weird feeling all day, like something was there.

Calmly he walked through the halls, taking quick glances to where the weird feeling persisted. He followed his gut, waving to maids and butlers as he passed by them. the weird feeling just continued, growing stronger as he got closer to the Manor stables.

Curiosity got the better of him and he ventured inside. The scent of animals and their "residue" persisted through the stables. Taking a moment to get used to the scents of the stable Jaune walked towards where his weird feeling persisted. One of the horses, one of the older ones by the way its legs were shaking. He could feel a pressense near the horse, like it was looking over the horse as its health withered.

Then he felt something weird, almost overwhelming.

"What are you doing here Young Master?" He heard Walter ask. Jaune jolted in shock before turning to the Head Butler. Ren was there behind him, looking over at the same spot that he had been looking at. "Ah, you sense it too. Nature at work." Walter commented before looking at the same spot as they were. "Old Cecil was a good horse, sadly he's been running from death for years. It was bound to happen soon enough." Walter said. Jaune and Ren just looked back at the spot, using Appraisal to sense the being near the horse.

True Spirit of Death.

That was all they could see. That single line of text was the only thing Appraisal could ascertain from the pressense in the stables. Cecil the old horse didn't seem to be aware of it, despite it being less than a foot away from him. "What's it doing?" I heard Ren ask. "Nature's Work. Spirits of Death will often show up to collect the souls of the dead and help ease the pain of the dying. She's probably here because she's the only grade of Spirit willing to enter this domain." Walter answered calmly. "Domain?" Jaune asked while looking up to him. "Yes, this is technically protected territory. Any Spirit from Lesser to even Grand Spirits would think twice before entering here. A True Spirit of Death like this one has no such issues, they only answer to the Grimm Reaper itself." Walter explained.

"Are you the one scaring the other's off?" Jaune asked with curiosity. Walter didn't answer, instead letting out a dark chuckle at his question. Jaune turned away from the Butler? and continued staring at the Spirit and Old Cecil. The Spirit didn't even glance at them, solely concentrated on the old horse.

It was unnerving, they had heard tales of Spirits. How Spirits of a higher grade than lesser could look like any normal human, Demon, or Beastfolk. Yet this Spirit, this True Spirit had forgone any means of mortal resemblance. Its form was shapeless, yet shaped, warping the air that surrounded its body like a shroud to keep them from seeing what it actually looked like.

The two boys suddenly felt Walter's hands clasp on their shoulders. "Now come on, best leave her too her work. She doesn't need a pair of young boys interrupting her job." Walter said. "She?" Jaune inquired. "Yes, a beautiful Rose of a Spirit, it's not the first time I've seen her in the Manor, nor shall it be the last." Walter said as he pulled the two boys out of the stables.

Neither resisted, knowing such a thing would be a fruitless endeavor.

Jaune laid awake in bed, his eyes locked on the window of his room. The True Spirit of Death was outside of his window, staring at him. He thought it would leave after old Cecil passed, but it was still here. His mind racing with questions as he stared back at the Spirit. 'Was he going to die soon? Did the Spirit know he was reincarnated? Why is it just staring at him?' those thoughts raced through his head.

Taking a risk Jaune got out of bed and walked to the window. He could sense the Spirit looking at him, like it was trying to understand him. Jaune opened the window and looked out into the night, the Spirit was level with his window despite it being on the Second Floor. Jaune shuddered as he got close to the Spirit, the strange feeling he had before returning full force.

Then the Spirit made a noise.

He couldn't understand what it was trying to say, just that it was acknowledging him. "Why are you here?" Jaune asked cautiously, not wanting to aggravate it. The Spirit seemed to shift, its shroud seemingly parting like a cloak as he was met with the face of a kind woman.

"One who had met death before, yet lives anew. I wished to meet with you." The Spirit said politely. Jaune felt a shiver down his spine as he looked the True Spirit of Death in the eyes. "What do you want with me?" he asked, his limbs starting to shake. "I am not here to claim your soul, it is still bound to life, not to be stolen. My interest is you, yet another born anew." The spirit said. Jaune felt his brow raise; 'Yet another born anew.' cycled through his mind. "You've seen other reincarnates, are any of them a similar age to me?" he blurted out. The Spirit laughed, not in a mocking way but rather an amused manner.

"I have existed for longer than the Family you now follow. I have lost count of those born anew. I have sensed others similar to yourself, that is all I shall say." The Spirit answered. "What's your name?" I asked innocently. The Spirit seemed to bristle for a second before smiling. "It is impolite to ask a Spirit their name, but you are new and I will not hold it against you. You can call me Summer." Summer said as she smiled at him.

Jaune nodded; "It was nice to meet you Summer." he said. Summer just nodded before she reached a hand out and ruffled his hair. Her hand felt cold, yet somehow comforting. "If you desire to see me before your time, simply explore the forest to the east and you will find me." Summer said before giving him a finale smile.

Then she disappeared, she didn't teleport or fly away, she just disappeared.

Jaune took one last look out the window, his eyes glancing over to the forest Summer had talked about. Calmly he closed the window and returned to bed, wrapping himself in his blankets and trying his best to fall asleep.

Ren huffed as he tried not to collapse. Between his training with Walter and his new job at the Manor, it was getting harder to stand everyday. Walter would still let him get away with his small thefts, even intentionally making extra food and leaving it with them.

It was a strange act of kindness, one he desperately wants to repay.

But he has to keep doing this, he had to keep Nora fed. If she can't get fed then she can't recover, if she can't recover then she'll be left crippled for life.

Then she'll die.

The only one left from his village, the last Thunder Dragon, would die not in battle or from the passage of time, but as a whimpering newt.

'No Ren, stop thinking like that. Nora's strong, even among her siblings she was one of the strongest. She'll make it through this.' he stopped his downward spiral. Calmly he filled the bag with his "stolen" food, then hefted it over his shoulder. Steadily he stepped out of his room and began walking out of the Manor. He had done this many times now, enough to know when Maids and Butlers would be traveling the Manor. He could now make the trip without using Unnoticeable, the only one truly aware of his actions being Walter. He turned another corner before he felt something move around.

The Spirit, the same one from before.

The True Spirit of Death was traveling through the Forest. She was making her way to the Hideout. In a panic he began to run, no longer caring if he was caught. Stonework became woods as Ren ran himself ragged hauling the bag with him. His legs began to ache, hardly having enough memory to duck and dodge the trees in his path.

Finally he reached the hideout, quickly slipping into it.

Nora was there, the Spirit was not.

He had panicked for nothing.

Nora was looking at him with concern, quickly running over to him and ruffling his hair. Ren just hugged her, trying to regain his breath. Nora just leveled her head on his shoulder before reaching into the bag. He could hear her start to eat as he just sat there.

She was still ok.

Ren began to ease his way out of her grasp, a smile on his face as he scratched her along her long neck. His nails rubbing against her scales in a gentle fashion. It was nice, just the two of them here.

"REN!!!"

Oh no.

Ren's eyes opened in shock before he turned in the direction of the noise. It was Jaune, he had followed him. "REN!!" He heard Jaune shout once more, this time much closer. "Nora, hide." Ren said while trying to push her into the darker parts of the hideout. Nora resisted, glaring at him as he heard footsteps.

"Ren.. Whoa..." he heard Jaune say before he turned. Jaune was in the hideout, still in his sleepwear with a blanket around his shoulders. He was staring at the two of them with wide eyes. "A dragon." he heard Jaune whisper before Nora began growing restless. "Nora, please?" Ren pleaded, only to he ignored. Jaune seemed to still as Nora pushed Ren out of the way and inspected him.

Then she stole his blanket.

"Hey?" Jaune whined as Nora pulled the blanket over herself and looked back at Ren, her eyes wide with glee. Ren just gave her a look of disbelief before he fell to his knees. "Why are you here?" he asked nervously.

"Uh, The Spirit was following me for a bit, then she left. I saw her go to the forest and I tried to fall asleep, then I heard you running into the forest. So I followed you since you looked pretty scared." Jaune said nervously while trying to look away. Ren just sighed, the first time he did this without using Unnoticeable and he was found out instantly.

"You will tell no one of this, please?" Ren asked. Jaune nodded; "I promise. And we Arcs don't go back on our word." Jaune said while holding out his hand. Ren took his hand and looked him in the eye, trying to see if he was lying.

"That won't be necessary." a calm voice spoke up.

Both boys jumped in shock before looking back. Sebastian Arc was looking down at them with a calm face. Ren quickly put himself between the Arc patriarch and Nora. "Dad?" Jaune said in shock as he looked up at him. "Walter did say you were looking out for someone, I just didn't think it was a Dragon." Sebastian commented while slipping into the ruined cabin. His full height forcing him to lean forward as his shoulders reached the ceiling.

Ren tried to hold Nora back as Sebastian's hand grew closer. "I'm not going to hurt her kid. I'm not going to hurt either of you." Sebastian said as he held his hand out. Nora peaked out over Ren's shoulder, cooing as Sebastian looked over them. Sebastian smiled as Nora sniffed his wrist and leaned into him. "There there, see." Sebastian said as Ren stepped forward.

"I found your village you know, I saw what happened." Sebastian said as Jaune just looked confused. "Dad?" Jaune asked as he got close to him. "Son, head back home. Your mother had quite a shock when Walter said you had run out into the woods." Sebastian said as Jaune's eyes widened. Ren just watched as Jaune ran out of the hideout.

"Aren't you going to?" Ren trailed off as Sebastian shook his head. "You can see the Manor from here, besides nothing would try to attack him even though he's a kid. But enough about that." Sebastian said before pulling Nora closer. "So; Lie Ren, son of the Lie Clan and Shrine Guardians of the Valkyrie Dragon Clan. Nora Valkyrie, daughter of Thor Valkyrie. The last of the last." Sebastian stated as Nora squirmed with a sad look on her face.

"I saw what happened to your village. I know how strong the Head Dragon of a Clan has to be. I won't ask what did it, I know that whatever did it was so terrifying that you're scared for us. Just trust us, and let us help you?" Sebastian requested as he kneeled down to face Ren. Ren looked him in the eyes, seeing nothing but sincerity in those sapphire orbs.

Calmly he took the hand of the Arc Patriarch. Nora getting nuzzling his shoulder as he guided the two of them out of the hideout. Ren kept his eyes on Nora, making sure she was still safe.

The three of them walked into the Manor, Ren didn't spare a single glance back at the forest.
