K/S - It's the end of the five year mission and Kirk is facing the ticking clock... This is my first fic for the Star Trek Fandom! All I wanted to do, during these horrible times, was write a nice romantic and sexy Spock/Chapel story. Do you think my muse would let me? No, she had to go and complicate it up so it's not fluff anymore. Hopefully, I still deliver something sweet.

Because not everyone could make it to Spock and Saavik's wedding. Note: This is pure fluff and fun, and it's dedicated to Susan Shwartz, the late Josepha Sherman, and the late A.C. Crispin. Spock had seen it time and time again. Jim could not help but fall in love, and then, when tragedy struck as it always seemed to, he was devastated. This time, the tragedy was inevitable, but perhaps if Spock acted in time the devastation could be evaded. Inspired by the song "Jolene" by Dolly Parton (as performed by Postmodern Jukebox).

"If I had it to do over…" It is not a productive thought, beyond its ability to make one learn from one's mistakes and so apply those lessons forward, but Spock spent most of his later life pondering this. There was all the time in the world and there wasn't time, wasn't time, it was never the right time. And then he was gone. And then Spock got to do it over. (Kirk/Spock)
