A Mirror, Mirror take on the events within the episode "Miri". Spock becomes tired of Jim's weaknesses, and becomes a hero, though not exactly by choice. Please read the A/N before reading the story. Not slash

"How had he slipped so? How could he so blatantly let his Vulcan veneer be stripped away in a moment of heated passion – of emotions? How could he let himself fall so far? Kirk… Jim… Always Jim…"

This is an AU where Spock is Uhura's bodyguard and consort until he meets Jim Kirk, an up and coming artist. This is a slash story but not terribly explicit. This is not a song meme but was inspired by the Eagles song, "Lying Eyes"
