Bannerman road sat quite in the midst of a midday summer, sitting on the street seemingly out of place sat house number thirteen. Wile it seemed like any other house for any on looker, in reality it held secrets within great and small. In that attic a large super computer was built in to the wall, two panel's swung form the wall and one lifted up. A large screen was on display with rainbow mesh of colours that moved around in a strange formation. Standing before it stood Sarah Jane Smith one of the many protectors of earth, she spun around as she was on her phone.
"So how are things, over at the open day?" she asked.
"Good, Clyde has already found an art program. And Rani…Sky, Sky, stop that." came Luke's voice as it trailed off.
"Well, take your time and soon you'll find a program you can all join."
"Okay thanks mum." replied Luke.
"Love you." she replied.
"Uh," grunted Luke and hung up.
Gripping her phone she closed it in her hand. "One day I'll get that boy to say it." she thought.
"Sarah Jane, he is still a teen, and many teenagers his age."
"I know Mr Smith, I know, just keep monitoring for any alien frequencies."
"Yes Sarah Jane."
As she turned to leave, there was a sudden thud.
"Sarah Jane." said Mr Smith "Sarah Jane are you okay, Sarah Jane are you still there."
Waking up Sarah Jane got to her feet to find herself unable to stand fully as everything was shaking in the house, looking around she was unable to find the route course of shaking.
"Mr Smith I need you." she called out, leaning towards the chimney wall where he sits.
But her cries fall in death ears, as Mr Smith was unresponsive to her pleas for help and so she stumbled and staggered towards the nearby window. To her bewildering gaze she found her self looking out over a red time and space vortex, as her house span around in the tunnel that bridged the gap between all know points.
Time and space seemed to almost open up, as splits could be caught in fleeting glimpse as they shot past, making it appear as if it was one tunnel and not a maze of almost infinite possibility's. But flaying though the vortex specks of what seemed to be another object flying though it as well. Unable to pull her self away she soon spotted a man ridding a motor cycle ridding in the vortex with her, cloaked all in black his face seemed familiar to Sarah Jane.
"I know that face." she recalled, raking her brain over the who the figure was.
Her mind soon flashed back, the memories her life vanishing out of existence, before returning. Recalled the recordings and reticulation's Mr Smith gave her along with the accounts of Luke and Sky.
"SKY!" her mind soon deviated.
Sky was on the bike along side the man she now recognised as the Master, turning around the figure saw Sarah Jane and laughed at her and her fear was firmly justified as on the bike was Sky.
Watching them fly further though the vortex out of sight and view, Sarah Jane pulled her self away form the window and composed her self. Darting towards the door she charged down the stairs bracing her self against the walls as the house was still shaking.
As she came down to the first floor as she came away form the stair case she fell forward on to the floor. Looking up she spotted something in Sky's room, left turned on just of of sight in the door way. Crawling across the floor trying to reach the room she struggled as the house still shook, arriving she reached non other then K-9.
Coming on line K-9 twitched his ears and nodded his head.
"Hello Mistress." said K-9. "Time vortex detected, seek shelter."
"Yes, K-9 in know." she said trying to quell the robot dog. "But the Master has kidnapped Sky, and I need your help."
"Yes Mistress, is the computer interface available?" K-9 asked.
"No he's not responding."
"Untrustworthy computer." scoffed K-9 "We need to find access to alien technology."
"There might be some down stairs, Luke was working on integrating some, with his new laptop."
"Let us move to the ground level." said K-9.
Getting up the two moved towards the stairs, the house still shaking made the trip just that little bit more difficult.
The house had reached the end of it's trip though the vortex and found it being spat out over the plant just in the lower half of the planets atmosphere. Chasing the down the Master on his bike the house began to fall down after it, closing in as the shadow grew over the ground below.
Inside finding the sudden change in gravity as the house began to fall, Sarah Jane found her self standing in a door way, wile K-9 was held down by his own weight. The sudden stop of the house shook the house one last time and Sarah Jane fell to the floor.
"Mistress, are you okay?" asked K-9.
It was short wile before Sarah Jane replied "Yes, K-9." she stood up and rubbed her head.
"I detecting alien life form presence, out side the house."
"SKY!" Sarah Jane panicked.
With all the grace of a new born sheep Sarah Jane bolted to the door, and thrust it open, to see the stark red landscape covering much of the world around her. The large red mountains and rocky cliffs where scattered all around the vast terrain, of the alien world.
"Mum!" called out Sky.
Spinning around Sarah Jane saw her daughter Sky standing near a crashed bike and a set of legs coming out form under the house. Racing over Sarah Jane held Sky close and rocked her side to side.
"I though I lost you." she said letting a small tear leave her face.
"Look." said Sky.
Pulling away she spotted the legs start to glow in bright golden glow, then it moved and took a new form beside the house. Watching it unfold Sarah Jane held Sky close as the golden glow took on the form of Missy as the legs faded away, and she faded in.
"Oh that was not what I was expecting." she said looking at her new body and form, along side her new clothes as well. "That's a first." whipping out the Laser Screwdriver she zapped the bike.
It's parts re-bent in to shape and took on the form of a bike ounce more, Sarah Jane watched as Missy hopped on bike and rode away.
"Toddle do." she said ridding away.
Watching Sarah Jane kept Sky close until Missy was gone, then she spun around and looked over at sky. Making sure she was okay, her mind skipped over Sky's grey clothes with a small sparky sliver dress over the top.
"Are you okay?" panicked Sarah Jane.
"Yes." smiled Sky.
Sarah embraced Sky one more time, but as soon as K-9 poked his head out joining them Sky ran over to pet him. Watching her go Sarah Jane smiled before she fully took in where they now were, seeing that they had landed in small town, two sizes to small for even a child.
The city was built like a town out of a child's dream, simple bright coloured shapes made up the basic buildings. With everything seemingly kept in a one meter tall fence, that looked more like child safe barrier.
As K-9 and Sky came over all three looked on as a bunch of small alien's came out and began to wonder the little streets.
"Oh my god." Gasped Sarah Jane.
"What are they?" Wondered Sky leaning over to reach out to then.
"They are the Adipose." chimed in K-9 "These are fat based life forms, young mistress."
"They look so cute." said Sky.
"Sky I don't think we should touch them, they are only children." warned Sarah Jane.
Sky retracted and the three watched as more and more came out, before they began to play in the little town. Soon it resembled more of a safe play area with toys and fun activities then anything else.
"They are cute aren't they." came a voice.
Everyone spun around.
"I could watched them for hours, and in some cases I do." said .
"B." smiled Sarah "What are you doing here?"
"Watching the Adipose, like you." he replied.
"Mum, I thought you said…" started Sky.
"Not now sky." said Sarah Jane cutting her off.
"Now, I think the question is what, are you doing here Sarah Jane."
"My house was pulled in to a time vortex, after the Master kidnapped Sky, and then I ended up here." she explained.
"And then he turned in to women." added Sky.
"Yes of course." add Sarah, wondering how that skipped her mind.
"It seems, the Master has turned in to a Mistress." laughed the Brigadier.
"I don't care about that, I need to get back home."
"Well, I think that you better find the Doctor of Oz, you'll find him at the Emerald Space Station on the other side of this sector."
"Oz?" questioned Sarah Jane.
"That's the planet your on, know the Doctor created this place to help people, and he should be able to get you home." explained the Brigadier "You'll just need to follow the yellow trail and you'll find the Space Station. But I can't in good conciseness let you go alone, here take this." he said, pulling out a small device he had in his pocket.
"What is it?" asked Sky taking it.
"That's a protection field, it was keep everything in the surrounding area safe." said the Brigadier taking it back and giving it to Sarah Jane. "Now I think you should take care of little miss here, she's quite spicule."
"Oh I will, you can count on it." nodded Sarah.
"Well, I'll be off, good luck." he said, as he left.
Sarah looked at the device, and didn't know quite what do do with it, as she fiddled it around in her hands, looking back up she tried to find the Brigadier, but he was no where to be found.
"Should we go." asked Sky pointing to yellow mark on the red earth just out side the little town.
"Yes." agreed Sarah Jane and she and Sky started following the road along with K-9.
Making their way down the marked path, the streak of yellow moved though the red stone in a strange formation moving in a rather straight line.
"Does all of this seem familiar to you?" asked Sky looking up at her mum.
"What do you mean?" replied Sarah Jane.
"I mean, the vortex, the little town, the master, and know a yellow path."
"What ever do you mean Sky?"
"It reminds me of that book you read to me."
"Really and what book is that."
"The Doctor of Oz."
"Oh, I didn't realise it, but yes there are a lot of similarities."
"Mistress." barked K-9. "Sensors indicate danger."
"What are you talking about…" started Sarah Jane.
Of course the sudden change in winds and updraught caught her off guard as she saw a slow moving, hulking space craft coming towards her. Jumping out of the way the three where nearly scorched by the giant rocket engine's that where keeping it off the ground. Looking back Sarah Jane noticed how the ground around her had turned yellow and the path had been become revitalised.
"Look at that." said Sky. Pointing to the ship.
Sarah was caught of guard to see more coming after the first, but it was not a few but a large convoy. Each ship had four rocket jets coming off the main hull like feet, the main body was square for most part with small slats close to the top for a flat roof, making it shorten then then the body. The cockpit was place out in front like a head, leaving a very animal looking design, with grey, sliver body, with light blue one way glass making up much of the structure.
"I can see what was the route cause the yellow path," panted Sarah Jane as she got up.
Watching the ships move on she was soon joined by Sky.
"Why would they travel so low to the ground, and not just go by land?" Sky asked.
"They must have their reasons, and they might have the right idea." thought Sarah Jane. "K-9 can tell me anything about those ships?"
"Negative." said K-9 twirling his ears.
"We'd better get moving." said Sky.
"Best stay out of the reach of the ships for now." said Sarah Jane.
So they three of them turned away from the convey of ships and carried on on their path following besides them.
