Authors Notes- And here I am once again with yet another Mirrorverse fanfic. As you can gather I own nothing everything belongs to Hasbro I am merely borrowing them for my own amusement. And now that we got that out of the way here is Chapter One of Shattered Glass. I hope you enjoy.
Quiet. Megatron always hated the silence. Ever since Cybertron had fallen so many years ago. He had learned that the silence never brought anything good. And now that he and his fellow Decepticons had crash landed on Earth he hated the silence even more. This planet, this Earth as its small inhabitants called it was... something. Sure, he had never hoped to have ended up in this place, had hoped that the Decepticons war with the Autobots had never ended up here.
And now, Megatron sighed as he turned away from the various screens, servos clasped behind his back as he paced along seeming lost in thought. And now it had been years since they had landed on this planet, and the long standing war between the two fractions was still in full swing. Despite this the warlord had been thankful that the natives of this planet had not been involved in the war...yet. He thanked Primus for small favors as the Autobots also didn't seem interested in the humans, but Megatron knew that would not last.
"You know if you keep pacing around like that you're going to wear a hole in the floor." A voice spoke up.
Megatron jerked slightly at the voice, turning around he looked down as he saw their human liaison standing before him. A stern look on the humans face as he looked up at the warlord.
"Agent Fowler." He greeted. Watching as the humans frown deepened. But that was nothing new, Agent Fowler always seemed displeased with something. "To what do we owe the pleasure?" he asked.
"Have you seen your old buddy Prime? Or any of his little 'Bots?" The human asked, arms crossed.
Megatron's optic ridges furrowed at this question, had human intelligence picked something up they had not? That wasn't impossible. "What do you know?" Megatron asked.
"Our guys had spotted a few very familiar looking vehicles around Jasper, Nevada." Fowler told him.
"Are you certain it is them?" Megatron asked, since arriving on Earth both parties had taken the forms of Earth vehicles in order to hide from the humans.
"Sorry, but it's too much of a coincidence." Fowler told him. "Things like bright yellow muscles cars and more than once a rider less blue motorcycle. Safe to say it's your pals the Autobots."
Megatron sighed, so much for things being quiet, but he knew he couldn't do nothing while the Autobots roamed around human populated areas. "I thank you Agent Fowler. I will see to it that something is done about this... With minimal damage." He assured the human.
"See that you do Megatron." Agent Fowler said, turning away from the hulking Decepticon. "Oh, and see about getting your communications fixed. Not that I don't like our little visits but I do have other things to do than drop by constantly." And with that he was gone. Leaving Megatron watching after him.
"I don't thing he likes us too much." Knock Out said from his place against the wall.
Megatron groaned. "Agent Fowler is just worried about his planet. And rightfully so." He said. "After all, I fear the Autobots have nothing good planned for this planet, or its inhabitants. But that is for another time. For now, we should see what the Autobots are up to. Knock Out I want you and Breakdown to see what they are up to, and take Soundwave as well.
With a nod the red Decepticon pushed himself off the wall as Megatron turned away once more.
"Something tells me that this isn't just some energon scouting mission, you think the Autobots are up to something, don't you?" A new voice spoke from the shadows, Megatron watched as Starscream emerged from them. A worried look on the seekers face plate.
Megatron shook his head as he watched as Starscream moved to his side. Red optics searching Megatron's face plate. "I do." Megatron said grimly. As he pulled something from his subspace.
The Key to Vector Sigma. Something the Decepticons could not by any means necessary let the Autobots get their servos on.
"The Key to Vector Sigma." Starscream murmured, his optics fixated on it. Reaching out, he stopped himself.
If the Autobots had known that Megatron had the key on him then Ultra Magnus would have stopped at nothing, even tearing him apart to get it. If Optimus Prime didn't get to him first. But thankfully the leader of the Autobots was still on Cybertron overseeing things on in one of the Autobot occupied cites...of the few that remained that was... And for that Megatron was thankful. For if Optimus was on Earth than Megatron had no doubt that human cities would burn in his hunt for the key.
And that was something Megatron could nor would have. So, as of right now, the key would remain on his person.
"The Autobots will stop at nothing to obtain that." Starscream said. "They'll kill anyone, even you Megatron, and I-I can't..." Starscream stammered. I can't lose you too. The SIC thought, those words were always on the tip of his glossa. But he dare not say them, they were in the middle of a war, there was no place for feelings such as his.
"I am aware..." Megatron said, the backs of his clawed fingers brushing against Starscream's own. The two of them sitting their in silence side by side. Little did they know that things would soon get a bit more complicated...
"I don't see why we need to roam around this slagheap of a planet." Cliffjumper whined as the red Autobot drove down the dusty road, his mood dark. Not like Arcee was fairing much better on her end, and if she was being honest she was certain the others weren't fairing any better either. First, they were trapped on this podunk little mud ball of a planet along with the Decepticons.
And what was worst was that those pit-bound 'Cons seemed to only send Vehicons to do their dirty work. Mere foot soldiers, a complete waste of their time and energy. But as Arcee thought about it maybe that was their plan? Wear them down then attack, a clever ploy indeed, Arcee mused.
"'Cee, did you not hear me?" Cliffjumpers voice cut through her thoughts.
"You know why, Cliff." She grumbled. "To somehow lure the 'Cons, mainly Megatron out in the open, and-"
"And hopefully get the Decepticons head honcho to cough up the location of the Key to Vector Sigma." Cliffjumper cut her off, something that always made her bristle, she hated being interrupted. "Hate to say it but it's easier said than done, sure Lord Magnus realizes that." Cliffjumper added.
At that Arcee pictured Cliffjumper rolling his optics at that. "Have some respect for the Commander please, Cliff." Arcee said, as she saw that she was arriving at a small town.
"Oh come on." Cliffjumper sighed, sounded exasperated. "You know as well as I do that Ultra Magnus wants to take over. He thinks he could do a better job than Lord Prime."
"But until that day somehow comes he is Commander Ultra Magnus and he deserves some respect." Arcee said.
A low grunt was the only answer Cliffjumper gave as she entered the small town. Her fuel pump skipping a beat when the blue Autobot caught sight of the all too familiar sigh of a couple of Vehicons. "On another note." Her voice monotone. "I just stumbled across a couple of Vehicons."
"Need an assist?" Cliffjumper asked.
"No, but I wouldn't mind the company." She said, as she rounded the corner.
"Headed to your location now, leave some 'Cons for me." Cliffjumper laughed. At that Arcee couldn't help but laugh as well as she closed in on the Vehicons.
Something was going to happen. Jack mused as he want through the motions of getting ready to go home after along day of work. He didn't know why but he couldn't help this odd feeling. Ever since he had woke up this morning he just had this feeling he couldn't shake off. Now the question was, was it going to be something good or bad? Shaking his head Jack tried to push those thoughts from his exhausted mind as he moved to where his bike was chained up. Intent on going home and getting some homework done. Until-
"Hey! Hey you!" A voice spoke, jerking Jack from his tired thoughts. Turning around he saw that exchange student trotting up to him, soda in hand. Jack had recognized her from school he had a class with her but never really spoke to her.
"Hey, uh..." Jack stammered as she stopping right in front of him.
"Miko." she supplied with a cheeky smile.
"Right, is there anything you needed?" Jack asked.
"Well, I don't mean to bother you but I was wondering that is if you don't have anything better to do could you show me around?" She asked, sounding sheepish.
Jack looked to the girl for the longest moment as she looked up at him with wide, hazel eyes as she continued to sip her soda before he finally relented. "Fine, but let me just call my mom and let her know what's going on." He sighed.
"You have to call your mom?" Miko asked.
"Hey, you don't understand if I don't she'll have the entire town out looking for me. And then I'll be grounded until I'm like thirty." He explained, as Miko rolled her eyes at him. Jack turned away from her as he spoke with his mom. After what seemed like forever the teen snapped his phone shut and turned back to her. "Well, she says its okay. I mean she wasn't happy about it but still..."
"What does she think is going to happen?" Miko asked as the two started to walk. "This place isn't like the big city where you're likely to get murdered if you go down the wrong part of the city."
Jack could only shrug as the duo walked down the street, focused on showing her the meagre sights Jasper had to offer. Little did they know was for them, things were going to get far more interesting...
Authors Notes- And with that here is the first chapter of Shattered Glass I hope you enjoyed. I would have more to say but I don't? And this is Blackjack signing off. Have a good day.
