Minato Namikaze was not an idiot, or rather, Minato Namikaze was a man who had priorities.
Family.
While he would do anything for his village and to protect the concept of world peace, even more than that, he valued the safety of his family above all else. He was a man that would happily make his child a Jinchuriki, because he truly believed that the village that he loved would cherish his child even with that status. After all, he knew how the Cloud Village treated their 8 Tails Jinchuriki as a Hero. He could do that because he had faith in the good people of his village.
"Minato... are you okay?"
His wife asked him, as she watched him jerk up in their shared bed. She was currently 6 months pregnant with their child, and he had woken her up. He had woken up from a horrible dream, in a cold sweat. She was grumpy at being woken up, but when she saw his face, she couldn't stay mad at him.
He seemed bothered.
"... Kushina... I just had... a horrible dream... I dreamed that I split the Kyuubi in half, and sealed half of it in our son... and the two of us died." Minato had such bad and vivid, horrible dream that he couldn't help but feel it had been real. The horrible part wasn't that he created a jinchuriki with his child.
His wife was a Jinchuriki, and he loved her very much. She was hailed as one of the most beautiful and dangerous ninja of the Leaf Village. Nobody knew she was one, but he had nothing against people like her. The horrible part of the dream was that he dreamed about Naruto suffering for years due to the entire village knowing his secret, except for him.
"Go back to sleep, the Leaf village won't need a new Jinchuriki until I'm about to die... by that point, there will be way more Uzumaki to choose from." Kushina denied his worries. By the time she was close to death, she would be able to pass her burden onto a grandchild or great-grandchild and teach them how to handle the burden. There would never be a need for Naruto to take on the burden, unless he choose to take it on.
She just wanted to soothe her husband, because she could tell that he was bothered.
His dream had left him shaken, to the point not even her soothing voice calmed him down. He had tears on his face, and was shaken up. She woke herself up more, and sat up so that she could look him more in the face.
"Kushina... I..."
"Minato, it was just a dream... you're the Hokage, even if our child became a Jinchuriki... I'm sure the village would love him. They love you, and they might not have the best opinion of me... but hey, I kind of brought that on myself." Kushina tapped her head with a goofy smile. Her anger issues had made her quite a few enemies in her younger years, not that she was old. She was still in her early 20s, so a lot of her younger stunts were still widely remembered by people.
Still, she doubted anyone would hate her son because of any hatred they had for her, the things she did to people weren't all that bad.
"... It didn't feel like a dream... it didn't feel like a dream at all. I felt it all... I felt the pain... and I watched, I could do nothing but watch as our child... he suffered in loneliness and darkness... and it was my fault." Minato had never had a nightmare that reduced him to tears before. His dreams never felt so real, and it never hurt him. The dreams he had where he remembered his actual memories didn't even feel as real as this dream.
Kushina leaned against him.
"... Okay then, tell me... why did you make our son a Jinchuriki?" Kushina wanted to work through the problem with him.
She was his wife.
"... A man, calling himself Madara interrupted came when the seal was weakened during birth. He killed the people delivering the baby... and he stole you away from me, and then unleashed the Kyuubi on the village. He had a Sharingan, and a mask over his face... and he used a strange Space/Time jutsu." Minato described the dream that he had, because he could remember it with such great detail.
Space/Time jutsu.
Minato slowly got out of bed.
-3 months later-
"Hey Minato, woah... this is... a little extreme." Kushina had taught her husband almost everything he knew about Fuinjutsu, using her Uzumaki heritage freely to share the knowledge with him. Not even she had seen such an advanced formula before that completely covered the entire living room that she entered.
She was 9 months pregnant, and by female Jinchuriki standards, she had 1 month left to go before she gave birth. Her husband woke up nearly every night with the same nightmare, so they had taken to sleeping in different rooms so he didn't wake her. Usually she would catch him working on some secret project by the time she cooked breakfast for them. He spent almost all of his free time working on the project that she was now seeing for herself.
"Kushina... I finished it." Minato was proud of himself.
"Well, whatever you finished, do you mind taking it down... our living room is not your work space." Kushina teased gently, but she was still rather amazed at the detail that was being put into the sealing formula. It was a different level of amazing, and she could see the Hiraishin formula being used for reference in certain spots.
It was a huge Space/Time Formula.
It covered an obsene amount of space, so she was sure that it could never be replicated even if somebody put a lifetime of effort into working towards it. Just to attempt it, you would need Uzumaki Fuinjutsu knowledge and the secrets behind the Hiraishin, and what was more you needed to be a genius on the level of her husband to fit it all together.
She was an Uzumaki, and even she had no clue what to make of it, other than to be amazed.
"Kushina... I... I want to leave this world behind. I want us to be a happy family... I want to watch our child grow up... I want him to have us in his life. These dreams... they aren't dreams... this is a sign. It's a sign that our child will grow up and suffer... Kushina... will abandon this world with me, for our family?" Minato shocked his wife.
A lot of expressions went on her face.
He expected her to reject the idea.
"Okay."
"Okay?" Minato was even a little shocked. He expected it to be a lot harder to convince her to reject their world with him. He was asking her to travel to an entirely new world with him, and him alone. They would have to start their life all over.
Kushina smiled.
"Okay."
"But..."
"I trust you, and I support you. If you think we need to do this, then I will put all my faith in you... I'm your wife after all." Kushina trusted him and his judgement. She had absolute faith, to the point that she would abandon her few friends if it meant having a happy family with her husband. "So, what is this seal exactly?" Kushina had to ask.
She had to.
"This seal will teleport both of us to another universe... and the sealing formula will only pick universes that feature several conditions. 1st: The world has to be survivable for humans, 2nd: the world needs to have humans, 3rd: The world must be more peaceful than our world. The seal will also take the most common language of that world, and implant it in our minds once we cross over." Minato was happy to walk around the world and show ALL of the different features of the seal that he had spent 3 months creating. "... and once the seal gets used, our house will self-destruct... and leave behind fake corpses, so nobody searches for us." Minato wanted to make sure that there was a little chance of anyone even trying to follow them as possible.
"What is this part?"
"... Jiraiya-sensei actually made that part, I don't know what it does exactly."
"Something perverted, got it... wait... he helped... does he know what we're leaving?" Kushina was shocked that Jiraiya agreed to it.
Minato gave a smirk.
"He tested the first seal, right now Jiraiya-sensei is in whatever world that this particular seal will send us to. I think the part of the seal that he designed is just another condition, but yeah... I will bet that all it does is pick a world that is sexually open." Minato waved that off.
Kushina did too.
"Oh, if that is all, then it won't be that bad. Jiraiya-sensei may be perverted, but he always comes through when it counts." Kushina had a GREAT respect for Jiraiya, even if she knew of his personality problems. He was a good man at heart, had skill, power, and was the godfather to her child. "So, when do we leave?" Kushina asked.
"... Do you want to say goodbye to anyone?" Minato asked her.
AKA - He wanted to leave as soon as possible.
"Nope, the only person I'm all that close to is Mikoto... but meh, I would rather not walk around the village and change my mind. Lets just leave now, abandon this war torn ninja world, and have a happy family." Kushina gave a goofy grin, sent him a thumbs up, and showed total support for his choice.
Kushina grabbed Minato and slapped her hand on the center of the seal.
The Uzumaki spiral.
She activated the seal without a second thought, and sent them to another world.
No hesitation.
Then, once they were transported to a new world, the seal covered living room started to glow brightly.
*BOOOOM*
Thus, that was the day that the 4th Hokage and his Wife "died" in a mysterious assassination.
