Chapter 156: The fight for the Evelyn Residence

Although we have secured the evacuation area, it still felt tense as just a stray bullet could have took any of us out, and yet that didn't happen. It felt like a while because of the tension, but eventually we left the grounds without incident, getting more happy and relieved as we were further and further away from the place, and shared sentiments of how wonderful it is to have been able to rescue all those people, and to get out of there in one piece despite all that they have thrown at us, even though I got the sense they were holding back.

We soon took all of the people we rescued to a nearby hotel where they'll be staying, until the Evelyn Residence can be liberated and Neptune can be brought to justice. It is then that I realise how long we have been at the estate, and how late it is now, and how we're getting increasingly tired and sleepy.

As soon as possible we fell asleep at our base, finding it a pleasant surprise that I could do so despite occasional nagging thoughts of concern that ran through my mind about the enemies that remain there, and the fact that Neptune will do all she can even without the hostages to create nefarious monsters that would be difficult to defeat.

Maybe it's because I'm too tired and exhausted to be concerned, or perhaps I feel more confident after being inspired by that room, or it could be that I know that we can only do our best as always, but whatever the case it's nice to be able to get a good night's sleep, and to be able to sleep for a long time.

After waking up at a significantly late time, even though it's still morning in fact a nice warm sunny morning, we have breakfast consisting of fried eggs, sausage, gammon, bacon, toast, baked beans, hash browns, sliced fried potatoes, omelette, mushrooms, fried bread and corned beef hash, along with waffles and pancakes, with ketchup and brown sauce, and to drink we had juices such as apple, pineapple, grapefruit and orange, along with hot chocolate, coffee, tea, and smoothies of various flavours including strawberry, banana and blue berry.

The breakfast is delicious and provides us with plenty of energy, and even this food seems familiar in that I can associate it with my country of origin, even if I unfortunately don't know what that country is. Nevertheless, this food does provide me with morale, and does make me think of the more positive side to dealing with this situation.

There are no hostages to deal with now, and so there's no need for stealth. With this in mind, there are more and better weapons that we can use now. Furthermore, we have more energy and with stealth no longer being needed, we can use our numbers, and our various vehicles both land and air if possible to help us win.

Neptune may have monsters, but I doubt they'll be immortal or even too powerful to be stopped by us, and she may have time on her side, but I doubt it'll be enough for her to be able to make powerful enough monsters since she'd need time to perfect it, along with resources in which without the aristocracy, and with no means of getting more, I doubt she'd have the means to make more deadly creatures, though I know I shouldn't rule that possibility out.

Yes, I feel more optimistic about this one, but even so I know that we cannot afford to throw caution to the wind, because we still need to be careful if we are to succeed, for while I'm certain we have numbers, we cannot afford to throw them away, not least because they are people with thoughts, feelings and loved ones and friends, in which our system values the individual and the potential that they can be, as each person is unique.

Then there's also the fact that we would need reinforcements then which could take too much time, or worse they could perhaps use our fallen allies to help in their nefarious schemes, be it turn them into mutants, or use them in experimentation to make deadly monsters.

Because of this, we make another plan in capturing the estate so we can ultimately capture Neptune. Which is to deal with the enemy garrison part by part, until we capture all of it, and to do so with the maximum amount of troops possible, and with the best techniques and most appropriate weapons there are.

We are to defeat the enemies patrolling the grounds if there are any, along with any enemies that are on the roofs, after which we then defeat the enemy by the windows, and after that we surround the place completely, and ensure it's secure before our encirclement of the estate gets closer and closer to the point where our forces are next to the walls. After which we secure the top floor and ground floor room by room, before clearing the rest of the floors in the building, before going to the lower floors, where hopefully Neptune will make her last stand and we can defeat her for good.

For my loadout, despite not having any perk a colas because of it being a nightmare, I have more weapons on my person than usual, perhaps too much to carry but I do not intend to cart all these weapons with me at once, as I've been in a vehicle until we reached our destination. This is because I intend to switch weapons when we get inside because the terrain will be different.

For outdoors, I intend to use an M60 and a PSG-1 semi automatic sniper rifle while for the point we approach the walls of the estate, I intend to use an AR18 assault rifle, and for the point we're indoors, I intend to use a Remington 870 pump action shotgun and a Browning HP pistol for backup , and I also intend to pick up any ammunition or weapons from fallen enemies.

Me, Noire and Uni are currently at the entrance to the grand estate grounds, in which it's grand, and consists of two large yellow stone pillars that tower over each side of the gate, and appear to be rotated 90 degrees, and have two pillars on each side, with highly decorated ornamentation made of stone at sections of each pillar, and in the middle of the layer is more stone on each side carved in a distinctive curved shape, and holes in a rectangular shape, in which there's semi circles on each side, and in the top layer is a bell shaped hole, and the top layer appears to curve inwards and on top of that a stone carving of a large bowl with leaves on it. There's also an elegant house next to it of significant size and is made of yellow stone.

As expected, there are no enemy soldiers patrolling the fence at all, there aren't even any enemies outside, or even in the house, presumably because they haven't got the troops they had yesterday, and wish to preserve their forces. Perhaps they're hoping that with it being all clear we'll just walk right in before they ambush us. Bearing this possible ambush by them in mind, I order for a convoy of several Alvis Stewart Military trucks with several Alvis FV107 Scimitars armed vehicles as backup, to go to the main entrance of the estate building itself as bait for the enemy, in which I'm hopeful that the speed and armour will ensure the survival of that convoy.

To back them up the fence is surrounded by our troops armed with similar weapons to what we have, and there are also several armed Gazelle helicopters, along with Westland Puma HC2 transport helicopters, in which at the appropriate time they are to drop off troops on the roof.

As the convoy approaches the entrance to the estate itself, thoughts of optimism run through my head again, due to the amount of troops we have, along with the quality of them, especially with the knowledge that just one helicopter that fired rockets and a smaller force of ours, was able to defeat their troops and their mutants, and with the care I intend to show with regards my strategy, I'm confident we can win again. But even so I know I cannot afford to be careless with my orders, I need to think each of them through as best as I can, to ensure the best possible outcome.

We can only watch for now, as I aim my sniper rifle at a window opposite, in wait for a potential enemy to pop up in an attempt to ambush our convoy.

As the convoy approaches their destination, thoughts does cross my mind that with the enemy knowing that the convoy is armed and armoured, would they in fact try and ambush it, and instead wait for us to go in and ambush there, in the knowledge that we won't destroy the estate by ramming through it because unlike them we care for such heritage, in which even the gates was a sight to behold, considering the iron bars had gold paint on the artwork and patterns in the centre?

I'm sure they'd love that as then they have the advantage of troops and terrain and we'd no longer have the advantage of mobility and fire power, especially considering there'll be monsters in there.

With this in mind, I order for the convoy to approach in a horizontal line as opposed to a vertical one, allowing for the vehicles to reverse away and hopefully be able to eventually turn around, as well as for them to get out there as soon as there's any powerful monsters, or there's too many of them.

Something tells me that this will be a battle of attrition, trying to out-lure our opponent into our own traps, though I like to think that with our troops being better trained, and more valued we will win in that regard, but the thing is that this cat and mouse will take significant time, time which Neptune needs if she is able to make more and more powerful monsters.

We can only wait and see as to how this will play out, and I can only respond appropriately depending on what happens.

Eventually they arrive at the proposed point, and all the troops aim their sniper rifles at all the windows the grand estate has, waiting for any enemies to pop out so they can be taken out before they can attack the convoy. Because of the concern of getting ambushed by the enemy, none of the Britainnians in the convoy wish to get out, and instead they wish for the enemy to make a move.

It is then that I have an idea, what if the armoured cars were to form a barrier outside the main entrance, and then a few of the troops in the convoy try to have a peek at the door to see what's there, before reporting back to me, so we can then decide our next course of action.

But the thing is, before I can make the order, the door to the estate suddenly opens, and I just order the vehicles to move away so we can provide sniper cover against any enemies that come out from there, only for there to be a large monster with wings fly out.

This creature has clawed fingers and toes, wings and glowing red eyes of a bat, yet the body shape is of a human in which he wears pieces of armour over his body, while it's head is avian like. I recognise this beast. It's the Hangedman from House of the Dead. Oh very fitting that you'd have creatures from a staple series that were available on one of your consoles Neptune.

The thing is despite it being fast and strong, and I remember it being able to drop two scientists from a great height to their deaths, I do not feel any fear. This is because I know that our vehicles are considerably heavier than two people, and if a pistol could take out this thing after several reloads, I'm sure plenty of more powerful bullets will ensure this thing falls soon enough.

I order the armed vehicles to fire at the thing, as well as for them to take evasive action from this beast, optimistic that it'll fall in a few seconds.

But the thing is while the Hangedman does fall in a matter of seconds because of the immense firepower from the vehicles, soldiers with machine guns appear from the windows, in which we respond against them with sniper fire, and swarms of enemy mutants bolt out the entrance in hopes of overwhelming the vehicles with their numbers.

Though they were able to catch up with the vehicles when they've reversed, and proved to be a significant menace when they climbed onto the vehicles, they still got mowed down by machine gun fire, and the vehicles managed to turn around and drive away, outrunning the mutants, whose special abilities couldn't break through the armour of the vehicles.

It's not long before there are no mutants charging out of the entrance, perhaps because they realise that they're just losing troops, whereas our side has yet to suffer any casualties, at worst our armed vehicles has spent a significant percentage of it's ammunition. It's a similar story with the enemies in the windows as we're too far away, and too well hidden to be spotted in time by them, and knowing that they cannot afford to lose their troops like this, they are no longer sending them to the windows.

I was about to think that this is the next stage of this battle, as the fight will take place in the estate itself, but before I could give the order to advance to the walls of the estate with caution, another creature of significance in power and size leaves the estate.

This monster is armoured and levitates in the air, and appears to be a humanoid with horns and talons, though despite wearing armour in which there's hexagonal patterns on it, his lower right leg, upper left leg, lower right arm and upper left arm have exposed muscles and pulsating nerve like appendages.

Hmmm, this is the Magician from House of the Dead and was the final boss in the first game. Quite curious for them to send it out right now, though despite the fact that it's been a regular boss in the games, it wasn't always the final boss. Nevertheless, this particular creature does concern me due to it's speed, and could perhaps move between vehicles and encourage friendly fire. Then there's the fire orbs which could prove to a problem, especially if it hit one of our vehicles, setting it on fire and causing an explosion which could kill the occupants and others.

I therefore order the trucks to get away, while hoping that the armed vehicles can distract the magician, and that the armour can protect the vehicles from Britainnian bullets that accidentally hit it. I also order the armed vehicles to aim for the muscles when the magician fires and isn't moving, and to shoot down every fire orb it throws at the vehicles, in hopes that the vehicles won't be harmed by the magician, while we can only watch on due to the fact that we'll waste too many bullets trying to take that thing down due to it's speed and the distance from it and us.

It is isn't long before I realise the tactic that they're trying to do. While I'm confident that the vehicles will take out the Magician despite it's speed and strength, considering the numbers, the firepower as well as their knowledge of it's pattern thanks to me, how many bullets will be spent in taking out this monstrosity? I'm concerned it'll be too many.

I get the feeling that their intention is not to take out the vehicles considering what they have sent out. Though I find myself wondering why it's the case, perhaps it's because they don't have adequate weaponry to take out the vehicles, considering they perhaps thought we'd just use infantry because it's a building. Come to think of it, I get the sense that their intentions are to starve the vehicle's powerful ammunition, and perhaps then try and make our vehicles immobile, thus preventing the means to resupply ammunition.

They intend to disable our advantage, our trap that we can use against them by luring them out here, and thus make it harder to take out the enemies, in which they'll have monsters that'll be more difficult to take down, without the firepower that only vehicles can carry. Perhaps they could even send out those very monsters in which without the firepower, could in fact defeat us all.

At the very least this will buy them time, and it could be that just a little time is all that's needed to create a powerful enough monster, that could prove too difficult for us to defeat. No I will not give in, we will defeat Neptune's monstrosities, and we will capture her. As a precaution I give the order for there to be supplies brought here containing ammunition for the vehicles and for us, as well as engineers, so that the vehicles can be rearmed and repaired in reasonable time before carrying on with our battle against the enemy.

Watching our vehicles fight this monster, while we look out for enemies that try and back that thing up, is quite agonising due to how long and tense it is, as thoughts of worry grow about whether our allies will run out of ammunition, considering how much they have spent already, or worse will a fire orb thrown by that monstrosity, hit a vehicle and do significant damage?

It is then that our worst fears are confirmed when we learn that the vehicles are getting low on ammunition, in which I can only order for them to drive away when they run out, and for the trucks to unload their troops, in a safe place and provide cover for the armed vehicles. To distract the Magician I shoot it at an exposed part with my sniper's rifle when it stops, and tries to fire it's fire orbs, in hopes that this will work, and perhaps make it think that with the vehicles retreating they've had enough, and there's someone new to challenge it.

I then quickly order the others who are with me to do the same, and this gets it's attention. It flies towards us quickly before levitating above our position, and rains down plenty of fire orbs in various patterns before moving away at a reasonable distance, only for it to try and fire fire orbs at others. While at first I found it unnerving considering it's speed, and how we're probably more exposed to being hit compared to the vehicles, and perhaps don't have as much firepower, I sense some optimism.

I remember in the games, how the Magician would do this when they're low on health, and if we can just put more bullets into the appropriate area, and move away from the fallen orbs, and shoot them before they burn the grass and cause a devastating fire, we can kill him with the ammunition left from our machine guns, and if not from our assault rifles.

In fact it isn't too long at all before the monster dies and thankfully no one's hurt, and there's no fire whatsoever, but the thing is this is not without emotional stress or trauma, of seeing that creature face to face, being fearful that we'd die, and then there's the fact that now we don't have much ammunition for our light machine guns.

I do indeed find myself wondering what other monsters will we have to face in there, and how will we be able to deal with them in their terrain, since even if we could go outside, getting there is the issue due to time, which would be on their side, due to them presumably being quicker than us. While we have shotguns and assault rifles, I do find myself wondering if that will be enough for the gunfights in the grand estate itself.

But whatever it is, we'll find a way, considering that these creatures tend to have weak points that can easily be exploited, and we'll still have the advantage of numbers at our side, as well as our tactics. Perhaps if possible, we can slow them down while we retreat before luring them to outside where they can be mowed down.

Right now though, we need to get to the walls of the estate, where via window and doorway, we clear out the rooms adjacent to these walls that border the estate and the grounds. The thing is, we ideally need the vehicles to be able to provide backup with their firepower, and yet that will take time, time for Neptune to perhaps create more monsters or worse create more stronger ones. Or perhaps even time for them to send a few waves of enemy troops towards the vehicles in an attempt to get them out of commission, perhaps suspecting that we'll be low on ammunition from dealing with the Magician.

I therefore decide to give the order for most of our troops to advance towards the estate under sniper cover, and make use of whatever cover they can, while switching to assault rifles in which due to the weight of all the weapons we took, we don't exactly have many clips for our rifles, but I order them not to engage unless they're being attacked. Meanwhile I order for the vehicles to drive to a certain point where they are far enough away from the enemies, so they can be mowed down if they were to swarm towards them, but near enough such that the vehicles can provide cover for the soldiers engaging with the enemy. Hopefully when the perimeter of the building itself is secure, the vehicles can move closer.

This way, we can advance and make progress with regards defeating the enemy, while hopefully ensuring that the vehicles can get rearmed, before we need their assistance, in which they've proven to be most useful against those swarms of enemies, along with those enemy boss monsters, that could have perhaps killed significant numbers of our troops had it not been for them.

As we approach with much concealment as possible, be it by crawling, or smoke or using whatever there is out here as cover, we find that no longer are there any enemies attacking us whatsoever. I wonder if perhaps this is because they wish to not expend any more of their troops considering what has happened, even if now would be a good opportunity for them to do so, considering we're moving towards their position, and our vehicles are out of ammo effectively.

It is just as well since it has to be said that it is a little concerning considering even with us concealing ourselves as best as possible, we are for the most part at least still out in the open, even if we have sniper cover. But if we can just reach our destinations, and if the supplies can come in, then I'll feel a lot more relaxed, even if we can't be exactly sure what enemies we will face in there, even with what we've already seen.

Eventually despite how long it appeared to have taken due to having to traverse all the terrain while maintaining cover, we soon reach near the entrance in which up close is rather grand. It is also massive, and the building appears to be of a golden colour, with plenty of massive windows, and it consists of 3 floors above ground excluding the roof. The architecture looks rather distinct as on top of each part of the roofs of the buildings, are pillars with arches in them, and on top of that are 4 elegant pillars consisting of various curved 3 dimensional shapes stacked on top of another. The centre part of this magnificent building consists of massive columns of a distinctive era, in which on top of that is a pointed roof in which I wonder if it's actually a raking cornice, in which on it appears to be some fancy carving on it.

Behind this appears to be a section of the roof in which in which it's surrounded by small short marble columns, with a long marble beam on top of it, and on top of where the cornice is, is a large structure of the same material, with a roof on top of that as well as two parts that stick out on either side, which is the same height as the structure.

Because of the structure of the estate on this side being in effect 3 massive buildings stuck together at right angles, and to enter would mean being exposed on 3 sides, I decide to wait for a short while, since if I can get those vehicles rearmed, then they can be used for cover at the entrance. I can imagine it will be a tough fight there, but if we can hold that part, and draw the enemy to us, perhaps we can lure them out, or even hold them there while some of our forces clear out the two adjacent sections, and work their way to the entrance.

As if on cue, I can hear engines in the distance, and I look behind me to see that they're a Britainnian convoy, they must be here so they can deliver the ammunition and engineers. They shouldn't be too long, and these vehicles can help in providing cover for us.

This is most reassuring as now like before, we could perhaps lure the enemy to outside and take them out piecemeal.

The thing is while they've lost significant troops in contrast to our side not losing all that much at worst, I'm certain that this will be difficult, there'll still be lots of them, and they'll be rather deadly, in fact we haven't even faced one of Neptune's personal buddies in a while, and yet Compa is still at large as is Neptune herself, but we can only take this place one floor at a time, and one room at a time.

As we wait for the approaching convoy to arrive so they can do their job, I think of a plan to ensure we can take this place section by section with minimal casualties, and it's not too long before I can come up with one.

It consists of our armed vehicles providing cover fire at the main entrance as best as it can, since I have no doubt that there'll be loads of enemies on all sides, and we can only spray and pray as best as possible, in hopes of being able to keep them away, before we storm into the entrance, hopefully without too many casualties, and split ourselves up where we intend to secure the surrounding areas until it's all secure.

Meanwhile myself, Noire and Uni and a group of others are to go up to the first floor and secure that floor, before going up to the second with hopefully help from our allies who arrived via the roof. As for the troops on the other sides they are to engage a few minutes after they hear gunfire, that way they can ambush large numbers of enemies and ultimately take the heat off of us.

I then explain to our troops my plan, while constantly keeping watch for any enemies to pop out, in which the enemy still hasn't come out since the previous engagement. Nevertheless I know that the entrance is well guarded, and I'm sure that they know that I know this, as well as the fact that they wish for us to get closer before they unleash their attack, or even just wait for us to get inside before they ambush us.

The convoy soon arrives at our location, and it doesn't take long for them to supply us with ammunition for all our weapons, and yet despite it being the case for a while, I still find myself thinking about the fact that the enemy has still chosen not to attack us, and yet, then would have been the best chance before our vehicles had more ammunition, due to us being distracted the most at this point.

Or are they waiting for a better chance, perhaps when we're really close to them as then they'll need less time to reach us. That's when they'll do it if they are to do it, and yet the thing is there's no answer to this since we need to attack them, we cannot afford to fight them by just surrounding their base completely, and as for just attacking a section in which we're not potentially surrounded by the enemy, they could just reinforce those areas, and even if we're to then use the entrance to flank them, I'm certain it would be a similar issue if not worse due to being surrounded by them there.

At least if our force attacks the entrance first, and that's where our main force seems to be, they could then reinforce their troops, and wrongly believe that they've got us in a pincer movement, when in reality after they are engaging us, our troops from the other sides can attack, and hopefully catch the enemy off guard, and be able to out-pincer the enemy then.

It is risky, but time is against us, and we need to eliminate as many enemies as quickly as we can, if we are to capture this grand estate as soon as possible, and stop that nefarious Neptune from creating more vile creatures and doing more damage as a result.

It is then that I give the order for the vehicles here to drive towards the main entrance, and to form a long column that is parallel to each wall of the main entrance, but to do so at a slow enough speed that the infantry that will be behind them so they can be kept safe from enemy bullets, are able to keep up with the vehicles. In the meantime everyone is to keep an eye out for a potential ambush.

The thing is, even now there's still no ambush though I wonder if that's because they know our guns are too powerful for their monsters and their swarms of mutants, and their regular soldiers don't stand a chance against us either here.

They must be waiting for us to make our formation, and then decide how best to spring it, yet all we can do is to just use our cover and weapons and hope that it will be enough, and just think that if we can survive it, we'll have taken out a significant portion of the enemy forces.

Eventually though it felt like a while due to the tension of us waiting to be potentially ambushed, we are at the ideal spot and in formation, close enough that we can open fire on the enemies inside, but further away enough that the mutants would have to travel a significant distance for them to be able to get at us.

The thing is just as we are in position, the main entrance opens and a large number of mutants rush out from there as well, looking quite grotesque in it's appearance and among them is a massive shirtless muscular creature who wears a mask, and wields a chainsaw with the word "Blame" etched on the blade. There are axes lodged in the creature's right shoulder and left thigh, and his flesh is lacerated.

Just as I suspected, they would ambush us at this point, but at least with the armed vehicles out in front, and the troops further away, the vehicles can perhaps take down the majority, while the rest of us infantry can take down any enemies that manage to climb onto the vehicles.

From where we are, we can only stay hidden to avoid being spotted, while being close to makeshift cover and making sure that we can see the vehicles, so we can shoot any enemies that climb onto them.

While we can't see them right now, at least our ears to some extent can be used to determine whether the enemies are dead by whether the guns are firing, as while it could be that the guns are reloading, they would still be firing again soon if that's the case.

It isn't long though until we see seemingly lots and lots of enemies on the vehicles, in which they try desperately to find the entrance to the vehicle and kill the occupants inside, only for them to then find a way to sabotage the guns from outside, in which we must prevent that from happening at all costs, for we need those guns if we are to be able to mow down the enemies in droves, even if we have to retreat all the way out to here.

We then open fire against these creatures killing lots and lots of them, before needing to reload, in which we manage to do so quickly.

The thing is while this does help significantly, I do see these hideous mutants dropping down from the vehicle and running towards our line even if I see plenty of them getting killed within seconds. The tension is getting to me, and I become concerned about whether we can hold the line or will we have to abandon it, even if it risks the vehicles getting wrecked, or at least disabled with regards it's ability to fire it's weapons.

Then there's also the concern of ammunition even if we've just got a good resupply, and it's because of how many of them there are, and the amount we're using due to the situation we're in; of swarms of enemies coming towards us. I just hope that we can hold this line, or even better that our troops that have attacked the adjacent sides to the main entrance, from the sides away from us, can bleed their numbers to the point where their waves will have to be diverted away. I also hope that after this engagement the enemy will be reduced significantly enough, that when we do get to advance inside this grand estate, it won't be as difficult to do so, though somehow I get the feeling that it won't be the case.

All we can do right now, is to defeat what's in front of us, and in this case it's loads and loads of enemy mutants, who while they have gotten across the armed vehicles, and have covered a significant distance, they have yet to breach our lines, and already I get the sense that their numbers are dwindling, and dwindling rapidly until the point where they're all dead.

Upon seeing this we reload a fresh magazine, and I notice that the guns have stopped firing, but then I notice that the guns appear to be wrecked or jammed by various means, just as I was dreading. While there is the helicopters, it won't be easy for them to get the enemies when they're rushing and it's hard to tell who's who from up there.

Yes that was always their strategy, to deprive us of our vehicle support so we are forced to face those deadly monsters by ourselves. I suppose one way of looking it at is that at least this isn't too easy, considering I know Neptune to be bad at strategy, as that would have led to complacency and she would have wanted me to be like that, so she could effectively strike me down when I least suspected it.

Although they can be repaired, I'm not sure if they can be repaired soon enough for them to make any more of a difference in this fight right now. But still, I will not let this demoralise me, not one bit.

I then make a rallying speech to the troops near me, and in particular this is for the crew of the armed vehicles who have fought bravely and well:

"Everyone, I would like to congratulate you all on a job well done, you have fought bravely and fought really well, and while it is most unfortunate that the guns appeared to be damaged, to the point where we can no longer use them for this fight, we mustn't let tragic things like that deters us. Setbacks like that were bound to happen sooner or later, but I am optimistic that it's a minor one, and in the process we have managed to defeat a significant chunk of the enemy, and we will defeat the rest of them.

They may have lots of numbers on their side but so do we. They may have monsters, but we have the expertise, and while they may have the advantage of terrain, they will not win with it. We have gotten this far, we have defeated powerful monsters and our goals cannot be stopped. We will reclaim this estate, and we will do so section by section with our superior tactics and experience." I say to them with passion and pride, and my body language doing much to emphasise this.

My troops then cheer in appreciation before I then talk to the other forces at the other sides, curious about how they are getting on, only for them to say that they are making good progress, even if they are being held up currently, and even if the progress is not even.

While it's not the most ideal, the fact that they have advanced, and we have yet to commit our troops is good news, especially since enemy soldiers are being used up to reinforce their positions that they're trying to hold, and if we're able to flank them some how, we can apply more pressure to the besieged sections of the estate that we wish to capture.

If we can secure the entrance, despite how heavily guarded it will probably be, even with all the enemy troops we have taken out, considering how big it is, and the amount of makeshift cover there could potentially be, along with there being different directions that can be travelled from there, then we can advance through, and hopefully catch certain enemy positions in a pincer movement, and thus freeing up our forces to various areas that need their help.

Knowing that that the enemy will use their troops from the first floor, to reinforce those on the second floor and the ground floor because that's where our forces are, I intend for myself, Noire and Uni as well as a significant number of our troops, to fight our way through to the nearest staircase, and from there access the first floor and to take out the enemies there, and I also order for some of our troops to do the same thing for the other staircases.

That way, we can help our allies on the ground floor by taking out the enemies that use their advantage of elevation to keep our allies back at certain positions, and then taking out enemy positions on the ground floor by other staircases, or possibly even flank them, or at least provide reinforcements.

From what I remember, upon entering the entrance there's 3 directions one can take apart from going back where they came from there, in which they all involve going through a doorway and there are no staircases in the entrance hall, which means this entrance shouldn't be too hard to take since for the most part, it's effectively a large room.

Plus which even if the vehicles can no longer use their guns, they can still be driven to the point where they could be driven next door to the windows, and they would make excellent cover for our troops. In fact all the vehicles could be parked by a window in which they're as close to the entrance as possible, and all of us here can engage the enemy on the other side, in which we should hopefully be able to take the other side without too much difficulty.

We also have sufficient ammunition right now despite our previous engagement with the enemy mutants, and we can pick up weapons from fallen enemies. We should be able to access parts of the ground floor including the entrance, it's just fighting our way through that will be a challenge, considering no doubt they'll be entrenched with makeshift cover, have advantage of elevation as well as being able to ambush us, if we walk past doors to rooms, unless they've already been cleared out by our troops. Then there's the fact they could still have monsters and use them to force us to flee, in which they could mow us down, or at the very least retake some of the space we managed to capture.

While there is also the issue of time, we cannot let that deter us, especially as they are probably feeling pressure too, with them perhaps knowing that they've suffered more casualties than us, we are in the estate itself, as well as the possibility that we have more ammunition than them, and the fact that they could run out at some point and their ability to fight us could be reduced as a result.

As our vehicles assemble at the appropriate places, I remember to not think about such things, especially since things could be worse, and there's no way of knowing how difficult things will be in there, and it's better to think about it once we see it for ourselves, as then we'll know what we're dealing with, and that all we can do is our best, which has ensured our significant success so far.

Instead I think about giving the order to use flash bangs at the appropriate time, so that then we can storm in and capture the entrance, and from there capture the rest of the place, along with thinking about ways to ensure we can punch through, if we have to deal with enemies who are camping behind cover.
