Chapter 2: The Academy
The next day Sasuke woke up to loud knocks on his door.
He stretched then walked to the door and opened it.
'Goodmorning Sasuke-kun!' He heard the loud vibrant voice of Fu.
He was almost tempted to close the door. 'Fu. What are you doing here?' Sasuke asked.
'Remember you said we will play together today!' She excitedly said.
'Oh yeah…yeah that's right. I got to get myself together first. Come in.' Sasuke gestured her to the couch.
Fu walked in and sat down on it. 'Sasuke-kun do you have some food? I'm hungry.' Fu rubbed her growling stomach.
A slightly amused expression made its way to Sasuke's face. 'You don't remember? I just arrived yesterday.'
A look of realization came on her face. 'Oh yeah! That's right! I'll take you to explore the village when you get done Sasuke-kun.' Fu friendly smiled at him.
Sasuke shook his head with a small smirk and went to freshen up.
-Cutscene-
When Sasuke was ready, Fu took his hand and started walking to give him a tour of the village.
She showed him around the big tree again, the waterfall caves, used to access the village, and around the Village Head's Residence.
Once they reached the middle of the village, she took Sasuke to her favorite restaurant stop.
They went inside and sat down.
'Hello, my name is Koi, I will be you guys waitress today. Can I get you started on a drink?' A short black-haired, blue eyed young woman asked them.
'I will have a fruit punch please.' Fu said first.
'Okay and you?' Koi looked at Sasuke.
'I'll have water.' Sasuke said.
'Alright I'll be back with your drinks.' Koi left temporarily.
Fu and Sasuke grabbed the menus and looked at the food.
'What are you getting, Sasuke-kun?' Fu asked, flipping through pages.
'I'm getting a grilled chicken salad.' Sasuke responded. Healthy and protein, what he needed to have a strong body.
'Well I'm getting a fruit salad with ice cream as a dessert. I love sweets!' She proudly said.
'And I hate them.' Sasuke said with a small smirk.
'You suck Sasuke-kun.' Fu teasingly stuck her tongue out.
'I'm back with your drinks.' Koi sat the drinks on the table. 'Now are you both ready to order your meal?'
Fu and Sasuke nodded and told her.
'Both shouldn't take long. I'll be back with your meals.' Koi then left.
'So Sasuke-kun, how good are you at fighting?' Fu asked, starting the conversation.
Sasuke couldn't help the proud smirk that formed on his face. 'If only she knew huh Chikara?' Sasuke mentally said.
Chikara gave a raspy chuckle. 'If only.'
'I'm very good at fighting Fu. What about you?' Sasuke gave her his attention.
'Well Shibuki-sama has been personally training me and I'm very good, but I can be better.' She said.
'How about you and I spar one day? So I can get a grasp on your skills.' Sasuke said.
Fu gained a surprised look.
'Is there something wrong?' Sasuke asked.
'It's just…not many children would like to play or spend time with me because of me being…' Fu looked downcast and dejected before continuing. 'Sasuke-kun…how would you feel if I told you I'm the seven tailed Jinchuriki?' Tears welled in her eyes as Fu expected Sasuke to shun her like everyone else.
'I will still accept you for who you are because being a Jinchuriki doesn't define you.' Sasuke said with ease.
Fu's eyes widened as happiness swelled in her heart. 'Thank you so much Sasuke-kun! Thank you! Thank you!' Fu somehow jumped over the table and hugged Sasuke tightly.
Sasuke, though slightly surprised, hugged her back. He softly let her go. 'She's coming with the food now.'
'Okay Sasuke-kun!' Fu went back to her seat.
Koi approached with the food and set it on the table. Lunch is served. If you need anything, call me.' She then left.
Sasuke and Fu dug in.
-Cutscene-
When they were done eating, Sasuke paid for the food and the two left.
Fu said she didn't want to wait to spar Sasuke, and now the two were heading to the training grounds.
On their way there, Sasuke noticed the looks and gossip directed towards Fu.
He wondered if all Jinchurikis were treated this way. He supposed so, even if it wasn't their fault. Naruto for example.
This wouldn't happen on his watch though. Sasuke held Fu's hand and glared at whoever messed with her.
Fu gave him a warm smile, filled with gratitude and tightly held his hand. Thank you Sasuke-kun. She appreciatively thought.
-Cutscene-
Sasuke and Fu arrived at the training grounds.
Sasuke went on one side and Fu on the other.
'Ready Sasuke-kun?!' Fu screamed with excitement, letting out a few jabs.
Sasuke nodded. They watched a leaf fall in front of them. Once it hit the ground, they charged at each other.
Fu threw the first punch and Sasuke caught it and tried to leg sweep her. Fu spin jumped over his leg and threw a hook kick as she did it.
Sasuke blocked it with his forearm and thrusted a palm at Fu's stomach and she was launched back.
Fu used her wings to catch herself and launch back at Sasuke.
She sprayed Scale Powder from her mouth.
Sasuke jumped in the air to dodge it and was met by Fu's fist.
He was launched back, but used the momentum to backflip and land gracefully.
Fu landed farther away from him. She gave him a competitive smirk.
'Not bad Sasuke-kun, not bad.' She said.
Sasuke smirked. 'You're not bad yourself.' She was strong for her age and the way she used the wings to assist her intrigued Sasuke.
'Thanks Sasuke-kun. I need to train more so I can become stronger!' Fu eagerly said.
'I can help you if you want.' Sasuke suggested.
'Of course Sasuke-kun!' Fu ran to him and hugged him. 'We're gonna be best friends foreva!'
'She is very hyper.' Chikara said.
'Very.' Sasuke mentally agreed.
-Cutscene-
Sasuke and Fu continued sparring. Sasuke gave her pointers on her weak spots and helped her in areas she had a problem in. After a while the sun started to set.
Sasuke and Fu walked back to their apartments.
'Are you excited about coming to the academy next week, Sasuke-kun?' Fu asked, looking up at him.
Sasuke scoffed. 'Hn not really. I could be using the time to train.' Sasuke just might use Shadow Clones to substitute for him.
'Well I'm glad you're coming, Sasuke-kun. I can finally have someone to talk to.' Fu smiled brightly at him.
Sasuke and Fu arrived at their apartments. Fu hugged him and wished him goodnight.
Sasuke went inside and sat his belongings down. Afterwards, he immediately went to take a cold shower.
He closed his eyes as he relaxed in the water.
'So let's talk about the elephant in the room. What are you going to do about Orichimaru, the Akatsuki, Obito, your brother, Madara, and whoever else?' Chikara bluntly asked.
Sasuke took a breath in. This has been on his mind ever since he got here.
He exhaled. 'We're going to have to take everything one step at a time.' Sasuke said. 'By the time the Chunin Exams come around, that's when things kick off. What I can do right now is make sure I'm prepared for it.' Sasuke finalized.
'Yeah that would be smart of you to do.' Chikara agreed.
Sasuke washed himself and then got out. He threw on another same batch of his clothes.
He jumped on his bed and then went to sleep.
-Cutscene-
Sasuke walked down the road, on his way to the academy.
The weekend passed fast and now it was finally time. During the weekend, he and Fu continued their training with Shibuki occasionally joining in. Shibuki was surprised at his fighting experience and commended him for it.
Fu also talked to Sasuke about her life and how she got to this point.
About how she was an orphan with no parents and how being the seven tailed Jinchuriki caused her childhood to be stripped away from her.
Sasuke thought Fu was very strong for making it through all what she did and yet keeping her positive energetic personality. It was something to admire. It was the opposite of himself, who was consumed by darkness piece by piece.
But that was who he used to be and not the person he was now.
His brother entered his mind. He of course wanted to clear his name and prove his innocence, but whenever he did meet Itachi, he wanted to ask him some questions. Namely, why did he have to kill innocent children and babies with the rest of his clan. He damn sure wanted to kick his ass also for the 72 hours he endured in the Tsukuyomi, but that all will come later.
Sasuke was also curious when he and Naruto would meet. He figured it would probably be sometime around the Chunin Exams.
With that last thought, Sasuke continued walking, almost at the academy.
-Fu's pov-
Fu waited patiently for Sasuke. She brought him a first day gift. She made it herself, it was a wooden Uchiha fan with shiny Scale Powder all around it. She thought it was beautiful and hoped he liked it.
'Well look who it is, the demon brat.' A long green-haired boy approached her. He had green eyes and pale skin. Two other boys were on his side. One had short black hair with brown eyes and white skin. The other had medium black hair with black eyes and pale skin.
'Didn't we tell you not to come to our spot?' The green-haired boy got close to her and shoved her.
Fu almost lost her balance, but managed to hold steady. She recognized the three boys. They bullied her the most at the academy. The green-haired boy's name was Yowai, the brown-eyed one Koshin and the last, Yowamushi.
'Fu-chan you don't have to deal with this. Why won't you ever fight back?' She heard what Chomei-kun said in her mind.
'Because that would imply me being exactly what they say Chomei-kun.' She mentally replied back.
Chomei-kun was very overprotective of her. He definitely never liked when she never fought the bullies back. It would be many times where she would have to restrain his Chakra from leaking because he would get so angry.
That's why he has respect for and likes Sasuke-kun so much because he always sticks up for her. She hoped to introduce them one day.
'Why don't you all leave me alone! Please!' Fu begged them. She really didn't want to cause any trouble.
'Look at that. Is that a gift you brought us?' Koshin swiftly snatched the gift away. 'Oooo so shiny.'
'Give it back! It's not yours!' Fu tried to get the gift back, but was kicked hard by Yowamushi. She fell on the ground, holding her stomach. 'Please…'
The trio laughed. 'Awe, is she bought to cry? Haha! Here, get this piece of crap!' Koshin threw it on the ground.
Tears welled up in Fu's eyes as she grabbed the gift and held it tightly.
'Hahaha! She's crying!' The trio laughed.
They immediately stopped as they felt…something. The air around them grew colder and it's like a huge pressure was all around them. Like they were battling gravity.
Sasuke slowly walked up, a dark shadow masking his eyes.
Fu smiled weakly at him. 'Sasuke-kun you're h-'
She was interrupted. 'Who made you cry?'
Fu paused at the tone of his voice.
'Who was it?' Sasuke continued to ask.
'Haha it was us, pretty boy. We did it to the demon brat.' Yowai said.
Sasuke's head snapped towards them and they began shaking with fear at his look.
'W-we're not scared of you! R-right Yowamushi?' Koshin asked him.
'R-Right!' Yowamushi shakily agreed.
Now if these guys were adults, Sasuke would've probably decapitated them. Fortunately for them, they were just children so Sasuke couldn't take it that far. He wouldn't let them off the hook though. He will show them what would happen if they do what they did today again.
Sasuke activated his Sharingan in a millisecond.
The kids froze with their eyes widened and jaws dropped.
After a minute they regained their senses. They started crying hard and ran away with their tails in between their legs.
Sasuke turned around and held his hand down for Fu. 'Are you alright Fu?' Sasuke asked, looking her over, making sure she's not hurt.
A very surprised but grateful look was on her face. She grabbed his hand and Sasuke pulled her up. 'Thank you Sasuke-kun. What did you do to them?' A curious Fu asked.
Sasuke figured if he told her he showed them one million ways they were going to die if they did what they did again, would probably traumatize her, so he stuck with the simple approach.
'I let them know the future consequences if they do what they did again.' Sasuke said.
Fu's face turned bright with a warm smile on her face. 'I thank you so much Sasuke-kun! Here I got you this!' Fu pulled out her gift.
Sasuke's eyes softened as he looked at it.
'This is a gift I made for you. For your first day here. I really hope you like it, Sasuke-kun.' Fu gave it to him.
Sasuke carefully took it and examined it. He couldn't remember the last time someone gave him a gift, not pertaining to power. It was a nice craftily made gift and the Scale Powder added a good touch to it. He hooked it on the rim of his shorts.
He gave her a small smile. 'Thank you Fu.'
Fu blushed and smiled back. 'You're welcome Sasuke-kun.'
Sasuke and Fu then walked inside the academy.
-Cutscene-
A tall man was seen. He had the Takigakure headband on his forehead and his hair was short and black. His eyes were dark brown and he wore the Takigakure Jounin outfit.
'Alright class, settle down.' The teacher, Haruki-Sensei said. 'We have a new student today. Make sure you all treat him well. Come in, Sasuke-san.'
Sasuke walked to the front. 'My name is Sasuke Uchiha.' Sasuke nodded to the class.
A grimace came on his face as he heard fangirls saying his name and saying things about his appearance.
He noticed some of the boys sizing him up.
Sasuke noticed Fu in the top corner alone, brightly smiling and waving at him.
He walked to her and sat right beside her.
'Hey Sasuke-kun! I'm so glad you're here!' Fu hugged him. She would thank the universe one thousand times over for bringing Sasuke into her life. Before, she was alone and no one would talk to her and it felt as though she didn't exist.
Now she had Sasuke and she wouldn't want it any other way.
She could hear the other kids calling her names and asking why Sasuke would sit next to the 'demon brat,' but she ignored them.
Sasuke glared at the kids calling her names and they looked terrified and backed off.
He really didn't want to waste time being at the academy and would rather focus on training.
'I have to ask you something when all this is over Fu.' Sasuke said.
'Alright Sasuke-kun.' She smiled and then directed her attention to Haruki-Sensei.
-Cutscene-
Sasuke was glad the day was over. He was filled with boredom the whole time because he knew everything. He definitely wasn't going to do this the next 5 years until graduation happened.
'So what is it you wanted to ask me, Sasuke-kun?' He heard the curious voice of Fu ask him.
Sasuke and Fu were heading to the training grounds to get a session in.
Sasuke directed his attention to her. 'Do you know how to use Shadow Clones?' He asked.
'Shadow Clones? What is that?' A confused Fuu tilted her head.
As I assumed. Sasuke thought. 'Shadow Clones are solid clones that duplicate everything, even clothing. They can disperse themselves or be dispersed by the user. Once the clones disperse, remaining Chakra is returned to the user and the clones' experiences.' Sasuke summarized.
Fu got in a thinking pose. 'So basically like the Clone Jutsu, but the clones are actually real and can aid in battle?'
Sasuke nodded. Fu caught on quickly. 'Right. I'm going to show you how to do it when we get to the training grounds.' Sasuke said.
'Okay sounds fun, Sasuke-kun.' Fu smiled at him before continuing walking.
-To the Training Grounds-
Sasuke and Fu made it to the training grounds and put their belongings in a safe spot.
'So this jutsu is forbidden because its Chakra cost is far greater than a regular jutsu and can lead to death with overuse, but you don't have to worry about that considering you're the seven tailed Jinchuriki.' Sasuke started.
Fuu was quiet and attentive, absorbing all the information.
'In order to do the jutsu you make this sign.' Sasuke showed her the sign. 'And then you say the name. Got it?'
Fu nodded fast. 'Got it Sasuke-kun!' Fu took a breath in and her face turned serious. She made the sign. 'Shadow Clone Jutsu!' She yelled.
Sasuke was impressed to see a perfect Shadow Clone stand right beside her smiling at him. 'Very Good. Now there is a variation of this technique where you can make multiple Shadow Clones at once. Try it.' Sasuke suggested.
Fu nodded again before saying the technique. 'Multiple Shadow Clone Jutsu!'
Sasuke was now very impressed to see about 50 clones standing all around them. The clones winked at him before dispersing.
'Did I do good, Sasuke-kun?!' Fu looked expectant, waiting for his response.
Sasuke proudly smirked. 'You did very well. I'm proud of you. There's less than 5 percent of Shinobi who can get that right on the first try.'
Fu jumped up with happiness. 'Yay! Thanks Sasuke-kun!'
Sasuke shook his head with a grin. 'I must ask, do you want to join me and use a Shadow Clone to replace us in the academy? We will still retain the knowledge and it will allow us to focus on training.'
Fu thought on it for a second. As energetic as she acted, she was very intelligent. She could perform all of the academy's jutsu with ease and knew most of the information taught. Whatever else the clone can send back to her. She did want to get stronger and this would be the perfect time to do it. She gave Sasuke her attention.
'I will join you Sasuke-kun.' She warmly smiled at him.
Sasuke was glad to hear that. 'Good. We will start tomorrow. Let's go home.' Sasuke waited for Fu then once she was beside him, he started walking. Fu mischievously smiled then softly grabbed Sasuke's hand. Sasuke shook his head with a grin on his face.
-Cutscene-
Sasuke wished Fu goodnight as he went into his apartment.
There were approximately six years before the Chunin Exams started and he wanted to plan what he was going to do accordingly.
First he wanted to have mastery over his Rinnegan and its abilities. He also wanted mastery over his Sage Powers aka Yin and Yang Release.
He would train with Chikara and see what new abilities they would come up with.
Sasuke would help Fu become stronger. He was surprised he never met her previously, goes to show how darkness blinded him towards the world. She also more than likely died of extraction because of the Akatsuki.
That won't happen again he would make sure of it.
In these coming years Sasuke has much to do and a lot of preparation.
He would do his best to make sure everything went according to plan.
