Chapter One: A Fateful Encounter

Saturday morning bathed Kagome Higurashi's room in a soft, golden glow, coaxing her from the comforting embrace of sleep. As she stretched and yawned, she couldn't help but smile at the familiar sound of her younger brother, Sota, enthusiastically calling her name from downstairs.

"Kagome, you promised you'd get it for me!" Sota's voice, filled with youthful exuberance, echoed up the stairs.

With a sigh that was part exasperation and part affection, Kagome swung her legs over the edge of her bed and got up. Her day had already been set in motion by a promise she had made to Sota. His latest obsession was the pop band Nittle Grasper, and Kagome had reluctantly agreed to buy their newest CD, the one he couldn't stop talking about.

As she descended the stairs, she couldn't help but smile at her brother's infectious excitement. Sota's eyes had shone with youthful zeal when he'd pleaded with her. "Please, Kagome, they're my favorite band! You have to get it for me!"

Her own music tastes veered more toward the classical and rock genres, but she couldn't deny her brother's happiness, and so she had promised to fulfill his latest whim. Today, it seemed, she was on a mission to make Sota's day.

In her mind, Kagome had anticipated a relaxed weekend, free from any specific plans. She was content with her ordinary life, working hard at school, spending time with her friends, and nurturing her secret passion for singing. But now, her weekend had been commandeered by her brother's enthusiasm.

After a quick shower and a light breakfast, Kagome dressed for her mission. She had never been one to fuss over her appearance, usually opting for comfort over style, but today felt different. She wanted to look presentable when she ventured into the world of pop music. Dark skinny jeans and a simple white blouse seemed like a good compromise.

As Kagome approached the music store, she couldn't help but be drawn to the larger-than-life poster of Nittle Grasper that adorned the window. The band members, their elaborate hairstyles, and flashy outfits took center stage, but it was Ryuichi Sakuma's charismatic smile that stole the show. There was an undeniable magnetism about him, even in the still image captured on the poster.

The bell above the music store door chimed as Kagome entered, and she was met with the familiar sight of rows upon rows of CDs. She navigated the aisles with determination, her fingers lightly brushing over the colorful album covers, each promising a unique auditory journey. She knew she was looking for the latest Nittle Grasper album and hoped it would be a quick in-and-out.

Finally, her fingers closed around the last copy on the shelf. She was about to grab it when a sudden jolt coursed through her body. Someone had collided with her from behind, causing the CD to slip from her grasp and crash to the floor. Her heart skipped a beat, and she quickly turned around to face the person responsible for the mishap.

"Oops, I'm so sorry!" a voice exclaimed.

Kagome's gaze shifted upward, and her eyes widened as she found herself locking eyes with none other than Ryuichi Sakuma. The pop sensation stood before her, his teal hair vibrant, and his eyes a striking shade of blue. An apologetic smile graced his lips.

A blush crept onto Kagome's cheeks, and her voice wavered slightly as she replied, "No problem." Her gaze remained locked on his face, unable to tear away from those mesmerizing eyes.

Ryuichi gracefully bent down, his movements fluid and graceful, to retrieve the fallen CD. With a charming smile that rivaled his stage presence, he handed it back to Kagome. "You're buying our CD?"

Kagome's voice steadied, albeit with a hint of shyness. "Yes, it's for my brother. He's a huge fan."

Ryuichi's smile widened, and he chuckled softly. "Your brother has excellent taste!"

The initial nervousness that had gripped Kagome gradually dissipated, replaced by a sense of ease. She managed a small smile in response. "I hope he enjoys it."

As Kagome paid for the CD and left the store, she couldn't help but replay the encounter in her mind. Ryuichi Sakuma had been kind, charming, and surprisingly down-to-earth. She had expected him to be aloof and unapproachable, but he's proved her wrong.

The encounter with Ryuichi lingered in her thoughts as she made her way to Ayumi's house that evening. Her friend Ayumi was an aspiring musician herself, and Kagome had created a mixed CD for her, featuring some of her favorite tracks and even some secret recordings of her own singing. Kagome had wanted to share her passion for music with Ayumi, and today was the day she planned to deliver the gift.

As Kagome navigated the streets, her thoughts drifted back to Ryuichi Sakuma's unexpected encounter. His smile, the way he had effortlessly put her at ease, lingered in her mind. She found herself wondering about the person behind the pop star facade, about the world he inhabited, and about the connection between music and the people it touched.
