Hello, fellow reader.
If you are reading this before getting into the actual story, thank you. This is my first fic I've ever written, so hopefully it'll be just as fun writing it as it is you reading it.
There will be potential ships here and there, some with my own OCs, and some with actual characters in the series.
Since this is also my first time writing said fic, any feedback or criticism on the story is appreciated, as it can help me get better at writing, and storytelling in general.
Now, enough stalling, enjoy the fic!
Disclaimer: I do not own Pokémon, Nintendo does. As for the OC's that will be in this fic, they do belong to me.
Hello...? Is anyone there?
Ah, screw it, not like anyone's listening anyway.
The names Eclipse Amaris.
I'm a 17-year old girl that's currently in high school. My life is...normal. At least as normal as it can get.
I was born as an orphan; my parents were never around me, and actually gave me to an orphanage as soon as I was born.
As expected, I grew up around very harsh environments.
I lived around criminals, drug dealers, rapists...
But, I didn't really care about the danger, it's not like I could do anything about it. I would just stay away from them.
I had always thought that my life would be mediocre, if not average. As a kid, I of course had dreams and ambitions, but my family, if we can call it that, didn't really give me a lot of lead way.
Most of the kids, if not all, bullied and ridiculed me for having such "nerdy beliefs".
That also included my mother, who wasn't afraid of telling me that: "Some dreams are not meant to be."
I usually just ignore them. It's best if I don't give a reaction, otherwise...
...Let's just move on.
Speaking of my family, I might as well give some insight about them.
I have three brothers and two sisters. There is no father in the family, so my mother is single.
All of the boys are above 10 years of age. The youngest one at 12, is named Devon, the middle one is Tyre at 14, and the oldest one is named Cameron, at 19 years of age. Devon and Tyre both have black hair, while Cameron has light brown hair.
As for the girls, the two are both the same age, at 15. They are named Sapphire and Ruby, mainly because of their eye colors being red and blue, as well as their hair. That then leaves me the oldest out of the three, a 5'7 girl with orange hair and oddly green colored eyes.
Our family is a..."stable" one, to say the least. The boys get along pretty well while the girls are "BFF's forever", or something like that.
As for me...not really. I usually try to fit in, but it never works well. Since according to them I'm a nerd, they usually leave me out of almost everything and anything they do.
Of course, I could care less. If they're going to treat me with disrespect, then it's only fair I give them the same energy.
Or course, that's all thrown out the window when Mom comes around, I'd rather be beaten repeatedly then face her wrath. If it already isn't always there.
I don't want to waste too much of your time about my life, at least before the change...
...But, enough stalling. This is my story.
A girl is sleeping in a small bedroom. The room is colored orange with a white and green theme. The room doesn't have a TV or any type of game device. Instead, a bookshelf is placed to the right side of her bed. She also has a laptop laying on the desk to her left near a window that she got with her saved up money.
As for the girl herself, she has bright orange hair, and white skin. She has freckles on her face, and her body is about the shape of an average teenage girl, nothing really stood out about her.
She was sleeping peacefully in the dark, quiet room...
...Until her alarm decided to go off.
*RING, RING, RING!*
"Ah!" Eclipse screamed out, startled. She then looked around her surroundings in panic, until turning to her alarm clock, realizing that it was the reason she had waken up.
"Ugh..." Eclipse groaned.
The girl hit her hand onto the top of the alarm clock, finally silencing the loud noise it was making. She then stretched out, grabbed her clothes for school, and walked outside of her room.
Immediately, the girl is hit with loud sounds of kids talking, and clamoring dishes. In front of the girl were five kids, two girls and three boys, all sitting in their respective seats. The boys were rough housing, while the girls were talking to each other, likely about random stuff she had no clue about.
"Yep, same old family..." Eclipse said, which then got the attention of the five kids.
All of the kids immediately looked at Eclipse with grimaced faces. None of them really liked Eclipse, and they made that very clear with her.
"Y'know, you could at least try to look friendly. Staring like that at anyone could be the one thing that'll get you killed." Eclipse said, a frown on her face.
"Yeah, yeah, Goldilocks, hurry up and make us breakfast!" said Cameron, the oldest kid in the group.
"Realistically, you should be the one cooking, you are the oldest." Eclipse retorted, slightly angered by Cameron's nonchalant insult.
"Aw, is orange nerd here upset that I called her Goldilocks?" Cameron said mockingly.
"I'm upset because you won't shut the hell up, you brown, snot nosed brat!" Eclipse snapped.
That insult received a chuckle from both Ruby and Sapphire, while both of the boys laughed hysterically. That angered Cameron, who gave the four kids an threatening glare, which shut them up quickly.
He then turned to Eclipse, and grabbed them by the shirt.
"Listen here, bitch. You're forgetting who's the strongest one here. You know what happened last time, you want another beating?"
"It'll be worth it." Eclipse struggled to say, a bit scared of Cameron's sudden attempt of intimidation.
Cameron winded his fist into a punch, preparing to throw one directly at Eclipse's face. As she flinched, ready for the impact, the family's mother came in interrupting the mess.
"WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE?!" The mother of the family asked, beyond enraged that the kids hadn't left yet.
Cameron quickly let go of Eclipse, as the two looked directly at their mother, as if they were obedient dogs.
"We were just roughhousing, Mom." Cameron said, as he then turned to Eclipse. "Right, Eclipse?"
Eclipse, wanting to avoid a beating just as much as Cameron, reluctantly, but quickly said: "Yeah, we were just playing." Which then earned a cocky smile from Cameron.
"Don't you see that you're going to be late for school?!" The woman said, a bit less, but still angry.
The kids remained silent, not sure of what to say.
"Get to school, and behave yourselves!" The mother said, an angry but defiant look on her face.
"B-But, we still haven't had breakfast-" Eclipse tried to say, but was quickly cut off by her mother.
"I. DON'T. CARE. Now get to school." The woman said in a finalized voice.
"...Yes Ma'am." Eclipse said reluctantly, overhearing the snickering coming from her siblings.
The mother than moved over towards the fridge, and grabbed a beer. Then she moved back over to the living room, turned on the only TV that was in the house, and sat down on the couch.
As for the children, they all grabbed their bags, and left for school.
And that's the first chapter done! Took a bit of courage and over complicated thinking to get this story out, but I'm satisfied to see it come to life. I hope you guys are excited for chapter two. The story will hopefully only get better from here.
