Xander hadn't been able to get thoughts of his encounter with Spike out of his mind, of Spike fucking him in an alley behind the Bronze, him kissing Spike, his feelings amplified by alcohol and the threat of an impending apocalypse.
Fortunately, or in Xander's case, unfortunately Buffy and Angel with the help of Willow and Giles' magic had once again prevented the world from ending itself.
Now Spike didn't have any good excuse to avoid Xander, especially whenever they got paired up for patrol. Xander could only fill the awkward silence with sarcastic remarks and dumb jokes, all of which Spike just scoffed at.
It felt like Spike couldn't even look at him, like he wanted nothing to do with Xander after what had happened between them. He wondered if it only happened because they thought the world was gonna end.
He'd finally had enough, getting pissed at Spike for ignoring him and not even trying to say anything about it, like it hadn't even happened. He was pissed cause he'd gone and drunkenly lost his virginity to a vampire.
-_-
"What the hell, Spike?!" Xander snapped, rounding on Spike during their nightly patrol, shoving Spike up against a tree, having caught the vamp off-guard.
Spike blinked down at Xander pinning him against the tree, snarling angrily at the boy but finding it bizarrely difficult to shove him away. Xander was weirdly strong when he wanted to be.
"The bloody hell are you on about, Harris?" Spike flashed his fangs threateningly, eyes darkening as he glared at Xander. Maybe he could scare him off, Spike couldn't fight back with that chip in his head.
"Why have you been ignoring me, Spike? Was I just some drunk hook-up to you?" Xander shoved at Spike's shoulders, knocking his head against the tree. Spike growled at him.
"Last week, at the Bronze... Ring any bells?" Xander sneered when Spike didn't answer right away, he let go of Spike and took several steps back, holding out the stake in his hand in case Spike decided to attack him.
"No..." Spike finally spoke, straightening himself as he pushed away from the tree, coming to stand only a couple of feet from Xander. He eyed the stake in his hand.
Xander let out a harsh laugh, shaking his head. Of course Spike didn't remember, because it had just been some stupid one night thing for him, like all his hook ups. Xander frowned.
"You weren't just some hook up... I thought you didn't want anything to do with me after, after the slayer saved us from biting the big one, again," Spike continued, hesitantly reaching for Xander before deciding against it.
-_-
Xander stood still, his brain trying to catch up to what Spike had just told him. He reflexively dropped his hands to his sides, his grip on the stake going lax. Spike thought he was the drunk hook-up?
"I didn't say anything cause I thought you wanted to forget about it... Couldn't exactly bring it up when we never have privacy," Spike added, taking a cautious step towards Xander.
Xander closed the space between them, dropping the stake in his hand as he reached up to grab onto the lapels of Spike's duster, pushing him back against the tree, this time covering his mouth with a heated kiss.
Spike encircled his arms around Xander's waist, pulling him flush against his body while nudging his knee between the boy's thighs.
"Spike..." Xander panted breathlessly pulling halfway out of the kiss, he looked up to see Spike's eyes had darkened. It sent a little thrill down him knowing he effected the vamp so easily.
"Probably shouldn't shag on the job," Spike laughed harshly, still keeping Xander close, he could feel Xander's arousal pressing against his thigh.
"You could come to my place, if you want..." Xander rubbed the back of his neck, nervously looking down. Spike had been to his house before, so he felt like it would be neutral ground for them.
"I'll go tell Buffy patrol's done then meet you at yours, yeah?" Spike hooked his finger under Xander's chin, forcing him to look up at Spike. Xander nodded weakly in agreement.
-_-
"I was starting to think you weren't gonna show," Xander admitted pulling Spike inside the front door, he was grateful his parents were out of town, fuck knows where on vacation.
The house was dark except for a floor lamp in the corner of the living room and the dull glow through the window from the streetlamps outside.
"I got stuck getting grilled by Buffy, she's been antsy since the whole near apocalypse thing..." Spike answered grabbing Xander around the waist, shifting them to press Xander back against the door.
"Can't say I blame her, we're up to what, four now?" Xander responded with a laugh that was quickly swallowed down by Spike crushing his lips over Xander's.
Xander linked his arms around Spike's neck holding him against his body, leaning up into the kiss with a feverish desperation. Spike responded by grinding his hips in slow, lazy circles.
"Should we get on with the show then... Or do you want slow and steady this time?" Spike nipped at Xander's throat, his tongue lavishing over his thunderous pulse.
