Marco Diaz had experienced many shocking things in his life. Meeting a princess from another dimension, fighting monsters, dimensional scissors, the existence of magic and so many more which had made him grown accustomed to the weirdness of the universe. Yet, he couldn't deny that his latest patient had taken him by surprise. It was none other than Bill Cipher.
Hekapoo had mentioned him once before, describing him as one of the most chaotic evil entities in the universe who sought to shatter reality for his own amusement. When Marco asked what had become of him, Hekapoo had replied that she didn't know, only that he had vanished from his prison in the nightmare realm one day, and that, when they tried to track him down, it was as if he had disappeared from the universe.
"So you're telling me. Bill Cipher, the dream demon. God of chaos and destroyer of the second dimension is your patient?! How?!" His girlfriend Star Butterfly, said with a look of surprise. He had called her on the mirror phone he had installed in his office.
Normally patient confidentiality would be something preventing him from talking about Bill Luz but due to the nature of the situation he was required by mewman law to inform Star who would be taking over the throne from Eclipsa soon. Plus it would probably sully his image especially considering the fact that he was also going to be inheriting Hekapoo's job in the future, as she had been wanting to retire after all the chaos that had happened in recent years.
"I was surprised too. At first I thought she was just some kid with a crazy imagination but then she tried scaring me by using demon magic so I believed her" Marco said amused at the memory
"Do you want me to tell the Magic High Commission? What if she hurts you?" Star said worried being well aware herself of Bill Cipher's reputation.
"Don't worry Star. I already have a barrier ready in case she tries anything. Besides call me crazy but I want to help Bill. From what I heard during her little tantrum the other day she's been reborn as a human so that she could redeem herself. But if anything happens I promise I will call you immediately if I can't handle her, ok?" Marco reassured Star who doesn't look convinced but relented.
"Alright I trust you. Oh! By the way remember to come to Mewni at the end of the week! You promised that you would be able to have dinner with me and my family" Star reminded Marco
"Yes Star. I promise I will be able to come to Mewni at the end of the week... Why do I even need to go to dinner with them? I thought your parents already like me?"
"Well yeah, Marco but this dinner is with the entire Butterfly family and it is to make things official so that people know that our relationship is serious and so that those nobles will finally stop trying to set me up with their sons you know?" Star explained
Marco was about to answer when there was a knock at the door "Well my patient is here. Let's pick this up later. Say hi to the others for me. Love you"
"Love you too!" Star answered back before Marco turned off the device which turned it into an ordinary mirror. Though he still chose to cover it up with a curtain just in case.
With that Marco walked up to the door. "Wonder what mischief Bill got into again"
Bill Luz hates a lot of things about her human life...
She hated her human parents for treating her like some idiotic child instead of the terrifying chaos entity that she is.
She hated how that idiot interrupted her ritual and robbed her of a powerful spellbook.
She hated how she now had to attend therapy with that damn annoying therapist who looks at her as if she was an insolent brat despite knowing who she used to be. Why won't he fear her?!
She hated how powerless she is compared to her original body and how it constantly didn't feel right.
She hated how her human brain restricted her genius mind that she now needed a journal just to conserve every piece of information she remembered or learned
But what she hated the most was ever since she became a human she kept getting these weird...feelings. She remembers humans called them emotions or some shit.
Fuck. Was she getting emotional? Or what was it they called it again? Growing a conscious? Developing empathy? No that can't be it. She didn't even cry watching that stupid movie about the dog who's owner died so they ended up waiting at the train station until they died. It's just her human brain chemistry fucking things up for her again. It must be why for some reason she can't seem to bring herself to completely hate her human parents nor attempt to kill them anymore.
It must be the reason for what she did the other day. She still doesn't understand why she was so bothered by..."that" of all things
Damn. Emotions was an annoying foreign concept to her. She had been hoping that she wouldn't have to worry about this side of being a human but it appears she was wrong. She needs to get a handle on this before it gets worse.
She needs an expert's advice on this matter but who could she turn to? Certainly not her parents. Mewtube isn't exactly any help. That only leaves...him.
Fuck
"I'm glad you came back for another session, Bill" Dr. Mango said with that damn smirk of his.
"Yeah yeah cut the crap. Its not like I had a choice...but there is something I need advice on that someone of your profession should be able to help me with" Bill Luz wanted to stab herself. She still couldn't believe she was doing this "Something...I did something the other day and I can't understand why I did it..."
Her words seem to at least intrigued Mango
"Oh? What happened?" Mango pulled out a notepad, stupidly eager to write down her story. The only solace she has is he's legally not allowed to tell anyone about it unless murder was involved
Bill Luz let out an annoyed sigh. She might as well get it over with "It was when I was forced to go to the vile woman's dumb clinic for pests"
"I can't believe you made me spend the entire day with the vile woman" Bill Luz said to the idiot on the phone
Apparently it was some sort of "bring your spawn to work day" and the vile woman was intent on bringing her along despite her protests.
She ended up wasting an entire day much to her annoyance. The idiot didn't even do anything to dissuade the vile woman. She made a mental note to add sour lemon to his secret ice cream stash later when she gets home.
"Wasn't today fun Mija?" The vile woman said to her as she locked up the clinic.
"If being hounded by a bunch of fleabags all day is considered fun yeah why not?" Bill Luz said sarcastically. She shuddered remembering how a horde of smaller hounds piled on her earlier that morning and instead of helping everyone instead whipped out their phones and recorded her suffering as if it was amusing.
Some even called the incident adorable! How dare they! She was almost suffocated and they thought her suffering was cute! Oh moments like these makes her wish she still had her once infinite power just so she can punish these one lifespan skin puppets.
But before Bill Luz could continue to mutter threats towards the vile woman. She heard a yell.
She turns and there she saw a bottle which seemed to be on fire hurling towards her.
Was this an attack? Then whoever did it is foolish. Fire was child's play to deal with. She simply has to activate a spell and...
Before she could do anything Bill Luz found herself being pushed out of the way. She sees that it was the vile woman who ended up taking the brunt of the hit.
The vile woman's screams filled the air as flames engulfed her arms
Bill Luz stood there frozen. Why did she do that? She was not in any danger. Then she remembered the woman thought she was just a normal child.
Idiot.
Without wasting anymore time. She snaps her fingers and the flames was extinguished. She sees that Camila has suffered horrible burns across her arms and would have spread had she not put out the flames immediately. The woman had also passed out due to the pain and was lying on the ground.
Normally seeing a person especially the vile woman injured like this would have made her feel gleeful and happy for it was always amusing seeing mortals in pain. This one more so because the vile woman finally got what was coming to her but instead she feels weird. She feels...angry?
Why does she feel anger for what happened to the vile woman?
She doesn't understand.
She was pulled from her thoughts when she heard even more yelling. She turned and saw a group of masked men holding even more flaming bottles.
So they were the ones responsible for this attack. They were yelling something towards her but she didn't bother registering what it was.
She found her anger being directed towards them.
They dared to attack her? Yes that must be why she is angry.
This cannot go unpunished. She has been meaning to let out some stress.
"Alright. Meatbags! Allow me to show you real fire!" She announced in a demonic voice as she pulled out Satan's grimoire.
"I heard about that. So you were the one that protected the clinic and took down those assailants that the police arrested. I'm surprised you let them live" Mango looked slightly surprise. He heard about the incident from the news. The attackers were all found tied and with horrible burns on their bodies and were even beyond terrified talking about a demon child which he had a good guess who they were referring to.
"It would bring too much attention if I did kill them" Bill Luz waved dismissively "But that's not what's important. The longer I spend in this human form the more I'm plagued by these...emotions. I feel so different. Why did I not feel joy at the vile woman getting hurt? She finally got what she deserve and yet instead of joy I feel confused" she still could not understand why she reacted like that
Mango seemed to think about it "Could it be perhaps...you're growing a conscious? Maybe you're beginning to grow attached to your parents despite your claims of hating them. After all if you truly wanted to hurt them you could have done so a long time ago correct?"
No...
No there was no way that was the case. She refuse to believe it. Bill Cipher being attached to humans? As if! She merely tolerates humanity for their fancy taste in food and music!
She cringed at Mango "As if! There is no way I would ever get attached to any of your primitive species!"
With that she stood up and made her way to the door. Attachment? Growing a conscious? What a joke!
"Our session's not yet over" Mango's annoying voice called out
"Fuck!"
Meanwhile...
Camila was still reeling from what happened the other day. Her daughter had been so close to getting hurt because of those crazy...
She shook her head. She didn't want to think about it too much but when she recalls the incident the last thing she remembered was her pushing Luz out of the way followed by her arm catching fire and then passing out before she found herself waking up in the hospital with her husband worried sick standing by her side. When she had asked where Luz was Manny told her she was with the therapist. Turns out she was unconscious for a few days.
"Incredible. Other than a tiny scar you have almost no injuries sustained from the fire. Are you sure you were burned?" The doctor asked as he performed a check up on her.
"Y-Yes. I remember it clearly. I pushed my daughter out of the way and...you know the rest" Camila let out a sigh which earned a sympathetic look from the doctor.
"Are you sure you're not misremembering things?" The doctor asked
Camila raised a brow "What do you mean?"
"Mrs Noceda. When you were brought you had almost no injuries despite witnesses saying you were in fact burned horribly. It's not that I'm doubting but can you tell me exactly what you remember about the incident"
Camila was confused by that. She had almost no injuries? As a vet she knows that doesn't make sense. She tried to think back to the night of the attack.
She was closing when she saw a flaming bottle...
She pushed Luz out of the way but she herself was burned and because of the pain she had passed out...
Yes that's how she remembered it. But she feels that she was forgetting something.
She scratched her head
There was something else...she had heard screaming accompanied by a demonic laughter which she recognized as Luz's but that wouldn't make sense.
She had briefly gained consciousness and she saw someone standing over her with glowing green eyes. They had their hands over her arms and was muttering something...
Who was that?
"Mrs. Noceda? Are you alright? I apologize for making you remember such a traumatic incident" the doctor apologized.
Camila found herself not responding. Still trying to make sense of what happened.
What happened that night?
A/N: Surprise! Here's Another update.
Bill Luz does not understand emotions. Could she be developing empathy? Who knows!
While not a focus I figured I could throw in some lore hints for how things went down for Mewni and the casts.
Anyways see you all next time
