"Gee, Cherry, where are we going now?" Cleo asked.
"Looks like we're going to a throwback to the classic cartoon era," Cherry replied as she looked at the book given to her. "Drell said that this was gonna get serious later, but so far it just looks like we're spectators of cartoons that didn't make it past the pitch pilot and with good reason."
"But what about The Powerpuff Girls?" Cleo reminded her mistress. "They became something big and better later on and even had their own movie, or have you forgotten?"
"No, it's not that, though the Powerpuff Girls doesn't usually have four members unless you wanna count Bunny or Bullet." Cherry replied.
"What about-" Cleo was about to ask.
"Ah, bup, bup, bup! We don't talk about that one!" Cherry interrupted and cupped Cleo's muzzle before she could say a cursed name.
"Wow, who knew the Powerpuff Girls knew Bruno Madrigal?" Cleo muffled to herself.
Cherry sighed and rolled her eyes to that. "If I end up getting an adventure in the world of Encanto, I blame you for that." she then told her kitten.
"What? What'd I do?" Cleo asked out of defense as they continued through a portal until they ended up in a different cartoon world.
Suddenly, Cleo and Cherry were dumped into a very old school town and not just from an earlier decade before either would've been born. Cherry now wore a black furred dress with purple stripes and Cleo appeared to be a saber-tooth kitten.
"Now where are we?" Cleo asked Cherry.
"I think I have a pretty good idea." Cherry said as she saw a sign that said, "WELCOME TO BEDROCK".
"The Flintstones? They had a failed short?" Cleo asked out of surprise.
"I guess they tried to reboot the series in the 90s before Seth MacFarlane tried it which I'm bittersweet about." Cherry commented to herself.
"Are we gonna meet Allen Gregory, King of the Hill, The Simpsons, Family Guy, and Bob's Burgers someday?" Cleo then asked.
"Stop saying random buzz words to prompt future adventures that should and shouldn't exist." Cherry sighed to her kitten as they continued along with her going by her book's instructions, leading her to a certain home in the town of Bedrock that was a page right out of history.
"Fine, fine, I'll stop jinxing you." Cleo muttered bashfully.
Cherry rolled her eyes as they continued along then.
MEANWHILE...
Inside of the Flintstones home, there appeared to be four girls who were looking through stone magazines together and laughing. One girl was known other than Pebbles Flintstone who had grown up quite a bit since the public last saw her and she had three friends with her as they sat in the living room together until a knock came at the door along with her friends who joined her.
"Hello?" Pebbles then greeted.
"Whoa... Pebbles Flintstone, is that you?" Cherry asked out of surprise to see the adorable cave baby girl in the stages of adolescence.
"Do I know you?" Pebbles replied out of confusion.
"Oh, um, I... erm... well..." Cherry stammered.
"Are you here for the slumber party?" A dark-haired girl with blue eyes and pink colored shirt asked, sounding very friendly.
"Uh, yeah! Let's go with that," Cherry replied. "Pebbles, it's me, your friend, Cherry! Uh..." she then paused before seeing a prehistoric videotape cover and suddenly said a name. "Stoneboa!"
"Cherry Stoneboa?" Pebbles asked. "Girls, I haven't heard anyone of that name before, have you?"
"I have not, Pebbles. Nope, nope, nope." The smallest girl who wore green and yellow with dark hair and crystal blue eyes replied, causing Cherry to glance at her curiously.
"You want me to get rid of her for ya, Pebbs?" The tough and brutal girl who had golden auburn hair and icy blue eyes along with a gray shirt asked, sounding like she was about to beat up Cherry.
Cleo sensed that before she jumped out in front of Cherry's feet and hissed and snarled.
"Awww!" The other girls cooed and gushed at the saber-tooth kitten.
"No, Candace, that won't be necessary," Pebbles then said as she pet the kitten. "Your kitten is cute, but it might have to sleep outside tonight. Mom doesn't like cats inside the house at night." she then told Cherry.
"Uh, well, all right, am I allowed to stay at least?" Cherry asked bashfully.
"I dunno about that." Candance said with a firm glare.
"Oh, yes, Candace! We must let our new friend stay with her kitten!" The smallest girl suggested. "Yep, yep, yep!"
"Do I know you? You seem familiar." Cherry wondered to herself.
"Well, all right, you can stay, but if you make me mad, I ain't gonna be nice about it, got it?" Candace told Cherry firmly and warningly.
"Noted..." Cherry nodded as she came inside to join in on the slumber party.
Cleo nodded and smirked as she helped Cherry inside.
"Well, okay, Cherry, as you know, I'm Pebbles, but these are my friends," Pebbles soon said as she introduced her three friends who were there. "This is Candace..."
"Call me Candy and you die." Candace warned.
"And this is Judith." Pebbles then said.
"It is so nice to meet you," The smallest girl smiled. "It is. It is."
Cherry cracked a small smile back at that.
"And this is Juliana." Pebbles then introduced the final girl.
"It's very nice to meet you, Cherry," Juliana smiled. "Welcome to Bedrock."
"Thanks, Juliana." Cherry replied as it didn't hit her right away about who Juliana could be, though Candace and Judith both seemed very familiar right now.
"All right, guys, you know what time it is?!" Pebbles then asked the others.
"Uh, no, Pebbles. What time is it?" Judith wondered.
"IT'S PARTY TIME!" Pebbles announced out of excitement.
Cherry and Cleo soon joined in on the slumber party. Everyone started to dance together as a bird used its beak for the record player to play music for all of them. The girls then began to look through magazines to look at cute guys while Cherry just observed for the most part and Cleo began to sleep next to another saber-tooth kitten that was in the living room with them. Eventually, the girls all played dress up together. They started off as a quartet of Southern belles, Southern belles. They next appeared in party dresses, and then as ballerinas, as a bride and bridesmaids, in cheerleader outfits, as a queen and princesses, in swimsuits, with Judith pulling down Cherry's bottom, and finally in dressed that looked like the Powerpuff Girls with Cherry wearing a purple one and lights began to flash from the windows.
"This is fun and all, but I wonder when the adventure is supposed to start around here?" Cleo muttered to herself.
"Adventure?" The saber-tooth kitten asked curiously as he seemed to hear her.
"All right, girls, time for bed." Wilma said as she came to check on her daughter and her friends.
"Awww!" The girls pouted about that before they decided to take out their sleeping bags.
Cherry backed away with her hands behind her back as she hid behind the couch and waved her hands, creating her own pillow and sleeping bag, using her special brand of magic that was known as dream-bending as she came to join the girls. However, as they were going to bed, a certain man came down the steps with a bag in his hand.
"There's Fred." Cherry whispered to herself once she recognized the modern Stone Age man right away.
"I'll be back later, Wilma! I'm going bowling with Barney!" Fred called out on his way out of the house.
"Good luck, Daddy." Pebbles smiled.
"Thanks, Pebbles," Fred smiled back until he was tackled by a certain pet of the house as Cherry chuckled and snickered. "Dino, down! Would you get off me?!" he then complained before his pet dinosaur soon licked his face.
"FRED!" Wilma soon called out. "Don't forget to put the cat out."
The saber-tooth kitten looked curious at that before he was suddenly picked up off of the couch.
"All right, sweetheart," Fred told his wife as he plucked their pet cat to take outside for the night. "I got an important job for you, Dino. I'M putting the cat out and I want you to keep him out," he then instructed before whispering to the pet dinosaur. "You gotta catch this guy, Dino. He's one shady cat."
"Who, me?" Baby Puss asked innocently while licking his fur clean.
"Well, think you can handle it?" Fred asked Dino as he collected his ball bag.
"Yes, sir!" Dino replied with a salute and spoke in an accent that sounded like Phil Silvers. (Look him up, kids, that's an oldie but a goodie)
Cleo blinked as that seemed to catch her off-guard. Cherry looked a bit surprised too, but decided not to say anything.
"Good boy~" Fred approved as he headed off before he came back to give Dino a sharp warning. "Now remember, keep the cat O-W-T, OUT!" he then added before storming off.
"I'm sorry, but it's our house policy that the cats sleep outside, it'll just be for one night." Wilma told Cherry.
"Well, all right," Cherry said before facing her kitten. "Sorry, girl. You understand, right?" she then asked.
Cleo seemed to look unimpressed before Cherry put her outside along with Baby Puss. "This sucks. I hate going outside like this." she then complained.
"Don't worry, girly," Baby Puss smirked at her. "I got an idea on how to get us back in right away."
"Oh? And how is that?" Cleo asked.
"Just leave it to me." Baby Puss told her with a fanged grin.
Dino soon snarled at both of them to make sure they would stay outside since Fred told him to do so. Cleo and Baby Puss seemed to run away right then as Dino shut the door and came inside, though suddenly, Cleo and Baby Puss were right behind the dinosaur as the girls got settled down to get some sleep for their slumber party. Dino then felt like he was being followed until he checked behind him to see no one there, then checked the other side before checking underneath him, unaware of the cats' sneaky tricks as he shrugged and jumped onto the couch.
"How soon until he realizes?" Candace asked the others.
"Probably very soon." Pebbles replied as they decided to watch what would happen next.
"Oh, this should be good." Cherry said to herself, looking into the fourth wall.
Dino and the two cats yawned and stretched once they got onto the couch until they noticed each other. Cleo and Baby Puss were about to run away until Dino grabbed them both by their tails and brought them out the door. "Now stay out!" he then told them in a posh accent before slamming the door shut, then opened it again. "I mean it!" he added before shutting the door and opening it a third time. "No funny business!"
"That will never not be weird to me." Cherry commented to herself.
"Oh, but Cherry, do you not know? All dinosaurs can talk," Judith spoke up. "Yep, yep, yep!"
"I swear, you seem familiar to me somehow." Cherry commented to herself as she scratched her head in thought.
"Well, I sure showed those cats~" Dino smirked to himself as he came to crash on the couch again, then fluffed up the pillow behind him to get more comfortable until he heard snoring. "Hey, wait a second... Pillows don't snore!" he then glared and patted down the "pillow".
Baby Puss smirked and licked Dino's claws once he revealed himself while Cleo snickered at that.
"YOU?! Oh, get out of here, you!" Dino complained as he picked up Baby Puss and Cleo in his teeth, heading for the door.
"Want some help, Dino?" Juliana offered kindly.
"Thank you, ladies, but I can take it from here." Dino muffled as he headed right out the door and took the two kittens over to the cave shed by the garage as he opened that door and balled the kittens up, rolling them inside as he chuckled. "Who says Fred's the only bowler in this household?" he then asked himself before putting a padlock on the door as he rushed back inside.
The girls giggled a bit, being more entertained than this when they should have been sleeping. Dino laid back down on the couch, but checked on the pillows to make sure they were still pillows until he got more comfortable. Luckily, they were, so he took out the remote to turn on the TV with assistance from a bird.
"You girls don't mind if I watch TV, do ya?" Dino asked the girls.
Pebbles and her friends shook their heads with amused smirks. Suddenly, a movie appeared to be on the TV which was entitled "THE EVIL GUARD DOG", showing dinosaur and saber-tooth kitten puppets fighting each other that caused Dino to laugh. Soon, it wasn't so funny once Dino noticed something strange with the show as Baby Puss was shown to be stomping on the dinosaur puppet for being "mean" to the saber-tooth kitten puppet and Dino soon came into the TV to bust Baby Puss.
"The End, I guess?" Cleo grinned nervously as she held up a sign that said that before Dino pushed the two out the door and back into the shed where they belonged.
"I don't know how you got out of there, but you're not gonna do it again!" Dino said as he slammed the door shut, then put a giant boulder in front of the door and came inside again.
"He's gotta be kidding with this." Candace deadpanned once she saw what was next.
"This is way better than cable." Pebbles commented.
Baby Puss was shown to be disguised as Santa Claus, ringing a bell and had a giant bag. Baby Puss held out a few boxes which were Fred, Wilma, and Pebbles at first until he took out a box that was just for Dino.
"Thank you!" Dino beamed as he took his present right away and soon opened it up to see what it could have been.
Inside appeared to be Cleo in a bassinet with a bonnet around her head as she was now disguised as a baby, deciding to have a little fun with Dino too. "Pwease take cawe of me~" she then cooed, trying to sound like a baby. "I'm hungwy, get me some miwk~"
Dino then dashed away, found a baby bottle, then came back.
"Yuck!" Cleo complained before she decided to mess with Dino a bit more since she would never get a chance like this again. "How 'bout some ice cweam?"
Dino then dashed away again and came back with a strawberry ice cream cone.
"Where is he getting this stuff?" Cherry asked herself.
Cleo shook her head at that in disgust. "I want choco-wit chip puddin'." she then said.
"Ooh~" The girls all gushed as that sounded so good to them.
Cleo and Baby Puss then chuckled to themselves as Dino came back with a big bowl, then looked very unimpressed once he realized he had been tricked again. Both of the kittens grinned nervously, and Cleo even tried to suck her thumb until Dino splatted the bowl onto both of them and they were both tail whacked right back into the shed together. Dino then put the boulder back in place, slammed the door shut, then came inside until he walked over a saber-tooth kitten skinned rug. Baby Puss hissed as Dino had stepped on his tail, but he then tried to keep quiet because Dino would then notice him. However, Dino was too clever to easily fall for that, so he tickled Baby Puss' nose with a feather and the kitten sneezed and landed into a wrapped-up version of himself.
Dino then took Baby Puss and took him inside through the roof of the shed instead of using the door this time. He leaned against the door, thinking maybe that was it until he heard someone in the shower. Cleo appeared to be in there, meowing a song to herself until Dino grabbed the mammoth giving the shower by the trunk to stop the water, so he wrapped up the saber-tooth kitten, then darted outside as he lifted up the shed from the bottom and threw the wrapped-up kitten inside yet again.
"Boy, this sure is exhausting... no wonder Tom and Jerry barely have time to talk..." Dino said to himself, sounding very weary.
"Good night, Dino." Pebbles said once this looked like the end.
"Thank you, my dear~" Dino replied as he headed over to his bed for the night. "And good night to you too, ladies."
"Good night, Dino." The other girls, including Cherry replied as it looked like the fun was over for now.
Dino yawned heavily and dropped down in his bed until he felt his blanket not on him anymore. He then kept trying to take the blanket back, but something, or rather, someone, kept trying to keep it on their side of the bed. Dino soon sat up and saw that Baby Puss and Cleo were on top of him with his blanket and he was about to yell at them until someone else was yelling at him.
"DIIIINO!"
"Oh, great. Just what we need," Candace complained. "And I thought my dad was brutal."
Fred soon stormed right inside once he saw the cats still inside the house despite what he said before he left for the night.
"Uh, I'm not here." Dino said as he hid under his blanket.
Fred then grabbed Dino by his tail suddenly. "Is this your idea of keeping the cat out of the house?!" he then ranted firmly.
"Hey, buddy, it's not my fault, you see!" Dino begged.
"He's right, Daddy." Pebbles nodded.
"Why are you girls still up?" Fred asked suspiciously.
"Uh, no reason...?" Pebbles replied innocently. "Anyway, Dino was just putting Baby Puss and Cherry's cat in the shed."
"Uh-huh..." Fred nodded.
"And then they were in the house!" Judith added. "Yep, yep, yep!"
"Dressed up as Santa and then a baby." Candace added.
"Not to mention a tiger skin rug." Juliana remarked.
"That too." Candace nodded.
"And then I fell asleep and they were still here." Dino then concluded as the girls were right.
"That's the most ridiculous story I've ever heard!" Fred glared as he didn't seem to believe anyone.
"Daddy!" Pebbles complained.
"No one ever listens to children." Cherry sighed and shook her head at that.
"Come on," Fred firmly told Dino, dragging the dinosaur by his collar before going right to the shed to prove a point. "If you put the cats in the shed, they'd still be in the shed, and there are no cats in this shed."
Dino looked wide-eyed before he poked Fred a bit to get the caveman to see something.
"SHUT THAT DOOR!" Many Baby Pusses demanded firmly as they seemed to be in the shed together, watching a baseball game on a TV.
"Oh! Pardon me," Fred said, closing the door until he shook his head at the insanity. "Hey! All right, you freeloaders! Out! OUT! O-W-T! OUT!"
"That was very unreal, even for me." Cleo commented to Baby Puss.
"Hey, what can I say? I have a big family." Baby Puss shrugged in defense.
"Now pay attention, Dino; I'm gonna show you this one last time," Fred firmly told the dinosaur as they came to the front door before he dropped Baby Puss to the ground after plucking him from the ground before. "Step 1: you step outside."
"Right," Dino nodded. "I suppose it's so easy that even a caveman can do it." he then smirked to himself.
"Step 2: you put the cat down," Fred then said before demonstrating that. "Scat, Cat!" he then demanded.
Baby Puss then strode away at that.
"Step 3: step back inside," Fred then told Dino until the door suddenly slammed in his face. "Hey! It's locked!" he then said while trying to get inside.
Baby Puss then whistled to get Fred and Dino's attention waved from inside the window.
Fred tried to rush to the window only for doors to be pulled shut there as well. "All right, Cat. This is your owner speaking!" he then demanded as Baby Puss decided to sleep in Dino's bed while Cleo came by Cherry and her sleeping bag. "I order you to let me in! LET ME IN! WILMA!" he then yelled before banging on the door before facing Dino. "Well, don't just stand there, do something!" he then demanded before he pounded on the door with Dino. "Will ya let us in?! Come on, let us in! Help! WIIIIIILMAAAAA!"
"Should we get your mom?" Juliana asked Pebbles.
"We'll tell her in the morning," Pebbles yawned. "This is a slumber party after all."
The other girls agreed and went to get some sleep.
"All right, I'll make a note of these girls and we'll try to figure out what to do before our next task," Cherry told Cleo as she checked her book for details. "Something about those three seemed familiar and I don't just mean their friendship with Pebbles Flintstone."
"Well, let me know once you think of it," Cleo yawned and curled up into a ball. "All that running around really made me sleepy."
"All right then. Good night, Cleo." Cherry replied.
"Night, Cherry." Cleo repeated while purring sleepily.
