A.N - Some Gender bender stuff
Night King - He
Arya, Arya - She
Arya is the new Arya and the original Night King.
This story really taught me how writing double gender bender exchange is a headache to write so its an experience.
"Father, I wish to marry into Lannister family."
All conversations in the hall stopped after Night king said that. Ned's impassive face turned extremely grim. Not surprising knowing that Arya was not even flowered yet and until recently had been completely opposed to marrying like her aunt Lyanna. Also everyone knew of Ned's distaste for the family of Kingslayer.
Ned looked like he wanted to say something rude but then closed his mouth. He was someone who hated insulting people behind their backs and only did it to their faces. As a result, he could not even insult the dead like Aerys or Rhaegar. And yet he didn't want his daughter going into that family so he said
"The Lannisters have issues of unclear succession right now. Lord Tywin has not given up on making his eldest son replace him despite being in kingsguard. We can revisit this topic once you are older and understand things more."
Catelyn was looking somewhere between happy, worried and confused. She had been tired of her wild daughter so the very fact that she was even considering marriage was a great boon for the mother even if she was too young for it. Sansa was looking at her with hate as it would reduce her own chances of marrying the crown prince. It would be redundant to have two daughters bind them to house Lannister even if one was of the crown and the other of Casterly rock.
Honestly she could sympathize with Ned. Unlike the old Casterly family that he remembered, the Lannisters did not seem to have a good record in their actions. While he understood the need to kill enemy's children, the pointless cruelty of the perpetrators did leave a bad taste in his mouth. He more than anything hated those who played with their food. A slash to the throat or a pillow to the face would have done the job.
He however did not believe in the rumors of Tywin Lannister's cruelty. Back in his day, any child born a dwarf was immediately strangled in the crib. The fact that this Tyrion was still alive and allowed to drink and whore around showed a very compassionate and weak person like his father Tytos before him. His bannermen might have really acted on their own even if no one believed it.
More importantly, Westerlands was the only region that did not have a single Valyrian steel weapon. Gods how he hated those blades, he was specifically created to be invincible to the weapons of men. Also it was the a place of massacres like Reynes and Tarbecks. Unlike those who died in battles satisfied, those who died carrying grudges were much easier to raise even with minimal magic power.
The things that Arya knew about Arya were that she was much closer to her father than she was to her mother and that Jon Snow was her favorite brother. The reason for that was she and Jon looked far more like the traditional Starks unlike her remaining siblings who looked a lot more Tully. She was often called horseface and such for her appearance
So it was a great surprise to her when her first instinct at seeing both her father and Jon was hatred and disgust. Unlike before, now she could barely tolerate even the sight of Jon and wanted to either kill him or run away from him. Come to think of it, he was riding a dragon when she last saw him.
About her father, she realized that her feelings stemmed not from the man but rather his greatsword that he carried and cleaned regularly.
With beautiful smoky ripples, the sword was huge and sharp but Arya hated it like it was a mortal enemy. It was the ultimate insult to name the sword Ice when the fire element on it was so palpable. This was definitely not the original ancestral sword of their family.
In any case her young age would work to her advantage. It would be a while until the marriage, before that she would use her status as the next Lady Lannister to raise the dead from drowned undergrounds of Reynes, sneak them into Casterly Rock and occupy the the most impregnable castle in all of Westeros that even dragonfire cannot melt easily.
She would not lose to those despicable weapons of Rhol'or this time.
The real Arya was stuck north of the wall as the Night king. After trying many different ways to cross the wall failed, Night king calmed down for a bit. The other White Walkers could not understand what was happening and thought gifting him with more wights might improve his mood.
It did not. He snapped the neck of the one who brought him this gift and shouted at others to not raise anymore wights without his say so. Unfortunately his throat was no longer capable of communication and all that came out was a guttural scream.
The white walkers assumed he was dissatisfied with the quantity or quality of the dead and so they left to kill even more wildlings. His patience once again snapped when he saw a pregnant female direwolf trying to find a way to cross the wall. It meant that this must be around the time of Jon Arryn's death. The desperation that Bran's fall was coming soon, he had to cross the wall and kill Jaime Lannister before that.
Searching through the land for a solution, he finally came across some children of the forest.
