Ricky, Old Kai, and Supreme Kai of Time all walked back to Conton City and walked over to a fountain where the hologram of someone would appear. Ricky was feeling excitement beyond what he ever had as a child or even a teen. They all stopped right next to the fountain where the Supreme Kai of Time would tell the tale of the Hero of Toki Toki City.
"It all happened back when Conton City was known as Toki Toki City. The place was put in danger by a really nasty person who warped time. Our hero bravely saved the city-no, not just the city, but the entire universe, its history and everything!" Supreme Kai of Time excitedly told the tale.
"No way... Is that actually true?!" Ricky smiled in astonishment.
"Indeed, it is! The history you mended was once saved by this hero!" Old Kai replied, confirming the rumors Ricky heard about the Hero.
"Take a good look. This is that very hero!" Supreme Kai of Time points to the hologram that appears.
Ricky was tensing up in excitement over who the Hero of Toki Toki City is. But his excitement turned into shock when he saw the hologram. The Hero of Toki Toki City had similarities to Son Gohan, having the same facial features and hairstyle but with red hair, clothing similar to Future Trunks, wearing a cape identical to Tien Shinhan, and having a green scouter. Ricky's expression was one of a man with his mouth slightly agape and eyes as wide as saucers.
"So, was it a treat seeing him like that or what?" Supreme Kai of Time spoke to Ricky before noticing his shocked expression.
"Uh, Ricky? Are you okay?" Supreme Kai of Time asked him with concern.
"MY GOD! YOU DID ALL OF THAT, ACE?!"
"Woah cool your jets, Ricky! You know him?!" Old Kai yelled, startled by Ricky sudden screaming and realization of Ricky's knowledge of the Hero.
"Fuck yeah, I know him! Ace and I knew each other in our childhood years! Ace was the kind of person that peaked in motherfucking high school! So, as a good friend to him, I knew that Ace was going to go out in the world and do some amazing ass shit! But I had no clue he was the Hero of Toki Toki City, of all things!" Ricky explains his life prior to Ace becoming a hero.
"Okay, Ricky! Calm down, you're making a scene." Supreme Kai of Time gestured to Ricky.
"Sorry, I didn't mean to freak out like that. I mean, don't get me wrong, though. I am astonished and proud of Ace. But to see him being the Hero of Toki Toki City? I never would've imagined he was actually capable doing all of that..." Ricky apologized and expresses his shock.
"Well, that tells you that you need to keeping working hard. And someday, you'll become just as strong as Ace. Both of us are looking forward to seeing what you can accomplish like we had with Ace!" Supreme Kai of Time pats Ricky on the back.
"Fuck yeah, I'll keep working hard. Because I know that, even with talent as prominent as mine, I'll still have to work myself to the bone..." Ricky grinned while cracking his knuckles.
"That's why you'll be needing to check out Patrol Academy, as well as Parallel Quests. Speak to the robot at the reception desk for more details! It will give you all kinds of good advice. At least, I hope... The reception area is underneath the large roof by the entrance to the Time Nest. Go take a look for yourself!" Supreme Kai of Time gives Ricky the advice of how to train.
"Duly noted, Supreme Kai of Time. So, what does the academy have in store for me?" Ricky asked her a good question.
"The Patrol Academy is a school to help develop young Time Patrollers. The old man is on his way there, too. There's a lot you can learn from him! The academy is over that way, just on the other side of town. It's a big building, so you can't miss it." Supreme Kai of Time replied, giving him a valid reason to check out the academy.
"Got all of that?" Supreme Kai of Time winked at him.
"Damn right, I do!" Ricky replied, cracking his knuckles once again.
"Even if it is a lot to remember, I have faith in you. Good luck, Ricky!" Supreme Kai of Time walked away, waving bye to the Earthling.
"Alright, Supreme Kai of Time! Stay safe!" Ricky waved bye to her, before he starts thinking about what he could do before continuing his job.
"Patrol Academy, eh? I wonder what that school's got in store for me..."
Ricky walks over to Patrol Academy to see Orange Star High School as the school itself for Time Patroller newbies. The chosen time patroller would take a moment to reminisce about all the memories he had with Ace, a longtime friend of his. From early childhood to high school graduation, Ricky would smile with pride, now knowing Ace was the Hero of Toki Toki City and how guilty he felt when he heard Ace retired early for reasons unknown to him. Feeling his smile fade to a frown, Ricky would close his eyes and give himself a pensive expression about how he wished to meet Ace as the Hero of Toki Toki City.
"You alright, buddy?"
Ricky would break out from his thoughts when he heard an lifelong friend of Son Goku, Krillin, speak to him.
"Oh, yeah. I was just reminiscing on my high school years. Truly sorry, I didn't mean to worry ya there, bud." Ricky apologized to Krillin, seemingly not recognizing him.
"Hey, it's alright. A lot of people would do that sometimes." Krillin replied, accepting Ricky's apology.
"So, you're one of the Time Patrollers, eh?" Krillin asked Ricky, which gave his attention further.
"Uh, yeah! Why do you ask?" Ricky regained his smile and walked over to Krillin as a response.
"The Supreme Kai of Time told me about you. So you want to get stronger, huh?" Krillin replied, giving some revelations to Ricky.
"Well, yeah! If that's what it's going to take to beat up people who screw with time, then I'll do whatever it-!" Ricky paused for a moment, staring at Krillin for a moment.
"Uh, anything wrong?" Krillin asked, confused by Ricky pausing mid-sentence.
Ricky would blink a couple of times, before realizing who he's talking to.
"Wait, are you...?" Ricky questioned Krillin, his smile returning.
"Yeah, you guessed it! My name's Krillin!" Krillin replied, confirming Ricky's question.
"OH MY GOD! Krillin, nice to meet you, pal!" Ricky offers him a handshake, which he accepts.
"Likewise, Ricky!" Krillin replied, knowing his name.
"Man, I don't think you have any clue how much of an HONOR it is to meet you!" Ricky expresses his gratitude.
"Oh, trust me, Ricky. I don't!" Krillin chuckled, loving Ricky's enthusiasm.
"Bro, how is this possible, though? I thought you might be an old geezer by now! Or worse..." Ricky commented on Krillin not being an old man.
"Oh, I was an old man at one point before I got my youth restored so I can train Time Patrollers in top form!" Krillin explained how he's a youthful man once again.
"Well, hey! If that's what went down, then say less! I'll be honored to have you as my instructor, Krillin!" Ricky respectfully bowed to him.
"While I am floored by wanting me to train you, we shouldn't go to the lessons right away!" Krillin replied, revealing some things Ricky didn't know first hand.
"Uh, why do you say that?" Ricky asked confused.
"Well, there's an initiation test you gotta pass if you want me as your instructor. Same goes for all the other instructors you'll meet during your career as a Time Patroller." Krillin revealed vital information.
"Ah, I get it. Starting off small. I can dig that!" Ricky replied respectfully.
"Correct! And hey, I'll do what I can to help you grow stronger. I know tons of different techniques! So, you wanna take that initiation test right away?" Krillin asked Ricky confidently.
"Oh hell yeah!" Ricky replied in excitement, giving Krillin a Arm-Wrestling styled handshake, which Krillin openly accepts in full.
So, Krillin. Where do we begin this initiation test?
