Roman got into the police car alongside his partner and cousin Jimmy. They had received a phone call from a woman who said a woman had come out of the neighboring house, begging for help.
"A woman covered in blood," Jimmy said.
"A woman covered in fucking blood," Roman tightened his grip on the steering wheel. "I hate these sort of cases. We never know what we might find but we know we're not gonna like it."
The woman who had called couldn't make out much of what the bloody woman had said other than a few words. Help, kidnapped, house, fight. Something about her having been held against her will in one of the neighboring houses.
"We're here," Roman stated the obvious.
Roman pulled over and killed the engine. They got out of the car and walked up to the front door. They knocked and a woman opened shortly after.
"Are you Bayley?" Roman asked.
"Yes, I'm the one who called you," Bayley answered. "She's in here."
They followed Bayley into the house and found a woman with shoulder long, messy, dark brown hair. Bayley had been kind enough to wrap her in a blanket and make her a cup of tea.
"The cops are here," Bayley said.
The woman raised her baby blue eyes and looked at them.
"My name is Roman Reigns and this is my partner Jimmy Uso," Roman said. "Can you tell us your name?"
"Louisiana," she said.
"For real?" Jimmy asked.
"Can you tell us what happened?" Roman asked.
"She came out of the house to the left. That house has been on the market for almost three years. It's this town's murder house. The ghost story travels far. No one has dared buying it yet. It'll come. There's always someone who wants to live in a house where an entire family was slaughtered and the killer was never caught," Bayley said.
Roman and Jimmy shared a look. Now was not the time to rip up in that old story even though Bayley was right. A family had been slaughtered and the murderer had never been caught. The story about what took place inside that house got worse as the years passed. Most stuff that was shared these days had been made up. And apparently someone had taken his chance with that house and locked up a woman in there.
"Louisiana, can you tell me what happened?" Roman asked.
Louisiana stood up and the blanket fell to the floor. Roman and Jimmy got a full look of how she was covered in blood, scratches and wounds. Clearly a fight had been going on.
"I killed him," Louisiana said.
"Who?" Jimmy asked.
"I don't know his name. He never told me. None of them told me their names," Louisiana said.
"There's more than one?" Roman asked.
"They're gonna find me. They're gonna return to the house and figure out that I'm gone. They're gonna find me and do even worse things to me," Louisiana said.
"No one's going to find you," Roman said.
"You sure as hell didn't!" Louisiana gritted her teeth. "I was in there for months and you never came to find me. I had to fight my way out of there at knife point. I couldn't do it anymore. He either killed me or I killed him. I was not going to accept another day of torture in there."
Tears started running down Louisiana's cheeks. Bayley put her arms around Louisiana and tried comforting her.
"We need a team to search the house," Roman said.
"What about her?" Jimmy asked.
"We'll take her to the hospital first and then back to the station," Roman said.
"No!" Louisiana yelled. "They'll find me there. They got eyes and ears everywhere. I'm not safe there."
"We gotta examine you and get you out of that bloody clothes," Roman said.
"I said no!" Louisiana screamed.
Louisiana bolted past them in an attempt to get away. Roman ran after her and caught her just before she reached the front door.
"Let me go!" Louisiana screamed.
"Listen to me!" Roman said firmly. "No police station or hospital. I got it. But I still have to do my job and help you. Will you trust me enough to drive you to a safe house with my two most trusted men? If anyone ever fucks up at my station, they're the ones to hunt them down and make sure they face justice. You can trust them to keep you safe and not tell anyone where you are."
Louisiana breathed heavily for a few seconds and then she seemed to deflate.
"Do I have a choice?" Louisiana asked.
"No," Roman answered.
"Safe house. Fine. I'll go there," Louisiana said.
"Uce?" Jimmy asked.
Roman turned his head and looked over at his cousin.
"What are we gonna do?" Jimmy asked.
"I'm calling Seth and Dean," Roman answered. "Stay with her while I set it up. I'm gonna make them come here to pick her up, and then we're moving into the house to see what we're dealing with."
