Hello, HollowSea here. I really should be updating my other story but I am having a story block, and really wanted to update this other story that I kept in my document of ideas.

WARNING: So, here's the thing, the rating is not M since what I've written so far are mild, in my opinion, with hints on violence and rape. Sorry I just can't help it, love the angsty torture-y stuff. So should it come up, I will update the ratings and also warn in the note of each chapter.

There are some OCs that I made, but would probably not be very important as I am not a fan of OCs.

Clearer Summary: Honestly, I am not sure as to where I want to go with this story but so far it's just for fun, I might edit some stuff when I realize something not working. This fic is about a sea deity or siren as I put it, which will be Luffy and honestly it's just in name but I want to assume they look exactly same and is really Luffy (If you hate that, owh well). Also, Luffy would be raising Ace, Sabo, and Law. DiffDF, OOC!, Smart & OP Luffy.

As for relationships, so far I'm planning on making everyone adore Luffy (cause I'm making him gorgeous, oops). But if I want to focus on a relationship, it would be Marco x Luffy, cause it's my go to. Besides, its so rare we need more of it.

(This work is crossposted in Ao3 and Wattpad)

No promises on updates since this is a side hobby, and I really sometimes just have no inspiration or the time. But I hope you enjoy what little I wrote :)

Chapter 1 ~ Origin and Beginning

He's bored, a sentient being, a deity, a siren, whatever the world wants to call him. There's really no reason for him to be a sea deity, other than the fact that the ocean loved him, and didn't want him to die.

Owh if you're wondering, he is old, really old. Over the years of solitude, the siren sometimes forgets what it's like to show emotions, forgets how to be a human (well technically he wasn't human, not anymore). He remembers his past life in patches, almost nothing, but it must've had something to do with the ocean for it to love him.

He isn't sure what his purpose is, other than watching over the ocean (maybe). Though he rarely visits the New World where stronger humans could recognise his unique presence, or where more bloodthirsty pirates would love to get their hands on him (not that it would be easy), he just hates the hassle and problems it would undoubtedly cause. That might be the reason why the Grandline was so chaotic, he wasn't doing his job (well, to be fair, no one said it was his job).

The siren was often feared by humans for having unhuman-like powers. Though over time, devil fruits appeared, and an increased number of people had also discovered haki. Before, they hunted him out of fear. Now, they would hunt him for their own interests. Humans are filthy, that was a conclusion he made over the years. He used to love messing with sailors and helping random islands, but now he does not want to interfere with human relations. For it never ends well whenever his presence was made known.

He had been alive for about five hundred years now, since he was killed by the World Government, and was reborn again. Maybe he was a human before, but he can't remember it at all. Technically, in deity terms hundreds of years wasn't very long and he's about a teenager mentally (not like he does much growing up on his own).

Though over the years, even his memory can't keep up such a long life as he swims or drifts oceans to oceans. But that might actually be a blessing, since his life wasn't always rainbows and sunshine.

"My name's Luffy," the teen said to the beautiful woman. Deities don't actually have names, and he had forgotten his human name. But he got this name 5 years ago from a couple that picked him up.

~flashback~

The siren was sleeping on the sea, floating, in the calm belt. He liked it there, where it was calm and quiet, a good place to rest for however long he wanted. It was also infested with Sea Kings, which made quite good company according to him. So there shouldn't be any humans, or that's what he thought, until he woke up on a boat beside a lady. She has short dark red hair that only reaches up to her cheeks, beautiful dark blue eyes, and a petite body.

He was in his little kid form and they must've 'rescued' him. The boy groaned, blinking, he had raven hair, an adorable and beautiful face for a little boy. A crescent scar below his right eye, his big blue eyes that look like there's waves swirling in them, glowing ever so slightly. He realised he was dressed in a simple huge shirt. What was he wearing before anyway? Was he naked? He doesn't remember.

"Hello?" The boy asked, looking around. His voice was wary, but face, blank. There's a lady sitting beside him reading a book, she looks sickly.

"Oh, hello boy, my name's Merose," she smiled a little, and continued when the raven continued staring at her, "Me and my husband found you in the calm belt, are you okay?" She asked.

He had a feeling she already knew he wasn't normal. Well, no one 'normal' would survive drifting in the calm belt, it was an untouchable piece of the ocean filled with sea kings, until humans found a way to travel through it. Seastone.

"Hi ma'am, are you alright?" he questioned, trying to be polite and respectful since he was supposed to be a kid.

"You're smart aren't you? I'm not well."

"Is it serious?" The raven asked, wondering why he was.

"You don't need to worry about me," she giggled and ruffled his hair, gently. Oddly there was sadness in her eyes as she looked at him (he doesn't understand why), "what's your name, boy?"

The siren looked around the small room, or cabin, "I- don't have a name," he muttered. He actually wonders sometimes if he had a mother… Was he born from somewhere? Or does he always just appear from the ocean, whenever he dies. (there's a blurry face, soft black hair and a gentle voice. Then there was fire, screams, they ki- STOP!)

The woman perked up slightly and smiled softly at him, "do you want a name?"

He looked up at that, and stared at the lady. Why would she give him a name? Actually why does she care? Luffy kept staring emotionlessly.

"I have a special name, it was for… my son, but he… didn't make it, would you like it?" She said, smiling sadly, looking even more tired, as she closed her book.

"It seems way too precious to give to me," he stated matter-of-factly.

"It's alright, besides you look just like him," she said in astonishment, her hand reaching out to cup his face, "but without the blue eyes, he had black ones like his dad," she chuckled since she had red hair and blue eyes but her son was born with black hair and black eyes, which Dragon was slightly disappointed at.

"What happened?" the boy asked tonelessly, he wasn't sure what he should be feeling. Maybe sympathy? Sorry? Angry? Sad?

"He fell into the sea as a baby in a storm," she said, eyes watering and lips trembling. The lady looked so anguished, he was stunned, didn't know what to do and opted to place a small hand on her shoulder.

"I shouldn't have asked," Luffy mumbled, more to himself, but she heard it anyway.

She sniffled and held him back, pulling the little boy into her arms. He was confused, it felt- weird, yet nice, he leaned back on her lap. Is this what it felt like to have a mother? She gave him a wet smile and gently stroked his cheek (he let her), "how does Luffy sound?"

"Luffy," he recited, feeling the name roll on his tongue. "It's a beautiful name, thank you," Luffy gave her a small, rare, smile.

Merose seemed pleased enough that she managed to make him smile, for the first time since they met. As her eyes widened a tiny bit and giggled, "I guess you loved it!"

Luffy's smile widens a little more as he nods. Maybe his behaviour was odd for a child but he doesn't know how else he should act, and the redhead did not point it out.

A man entered the room, he had messy raven hair just like Luffy's and tribal tattoos on one side of his face. He looks like a serious man and really tired too, a smile looks oddly unfitting on his face. Luffy knew he was quite strong, the man could definitely feel his aura, even with him suppressing it. But Luffy sensed no ill intent.

"Honey-, ah," Dragon said as he noticed Luffy on her laps and in her arms, "I see, he's awake." There was something in his eyes Luffy could not identify, guilt? yearning? surprise? relief? shock?

"Dragon dear, this is Luffy," she introduced, smiling, causing the shock in her husband's eyes to overpower his other previous feelings.

"Hello sir, I didn't have a name, Ms. Merose offered me one," Luffy explained slowly, feeling a little undeserving. The man seemed to understand, his eyes softened as a ghost of a smile appeared as he nodded.

What he didn't know was how he would be spending a lot of time with this couple, treated as their child. He didn't know how to feel, but Luffy was curious about Merose, and how she treated him (motherly instincts, she said). So he stuck around.

They took him in, and raised him until Merose, his adoptive mother, died from her sickness. They treated him kindly even when they knew he wasn't a human, reminding him of his lost emotions (not Dragon, he was almost as emotionless as the deity).

At the end, Luffy revealed to the two about what he is, and apologised because his blood could not heal her sickness which is a natural cause. He could only cure the unnatural.

But she said it was okay, and that her son shouldn't need to save her. She wants him to just be Luffy, her son, not a sea deity. She also said she wanted to finally be with her dead son. She passed away with a satisfied smile.

Luffy understands it was natural and couldn't be helped. But he didn't understand the stabbing pain in his chest, as a lone tear dripped onto her cold body. An emotion long forgotten, a tear he hasn't shed in hundreds of years. And he hated it. Flowers bloomed where the tear touched her, appearing from nowhere.

Luffy eventually left Dragon to travel the world again, visiting the stoic man occasionally. The man had given him his last name, claiming Luffy as his son, and that he would be his father. Even after knowing his true identity, the man never took advantage of him, never asked for his help. He acted like Luffy was just another human, whose secret he must keep. Luffy respected him for that.

He wanted to visit islands and learn more about the ocean he's supposed to 'rule', and learn more about emotions, or specifically, love. It was kindness in its purest form and Luffy wants to know more, feel it, share it.

~flashback ends~

Luffy had been travelling in his teenage form, maybe of a 17 year old. He had been acting as a human, as much as he could, by constantly suppressing his unique aura and presence. Which was surprisingly tiring, and Luffy rarely gets tired.

He would wear dark cloaks to hide his beautiful, enchanting features. The deity had learned that his looks weren't common, considered a beauty in this world. Attracting unwanted attention, and if that doesn't do it, his presence and aura would do it.

His beauty wasn't that uncommon in the past, they were a tribe of beautiful people with a variety of looks. But as humans would have it, something beautiful often gets destroyed. They were often hunted, raped, and killed, by their own species. Eventually they were extinct. Of course this was hundreds of years ago, Luffy could barely remember the faces of his people, only blurry shadows and screams, his screams.

He had stopped avoiding the New World, opting to be careful. There's just more to see there. Luffy's stronger now, of course, very strong, but he would prefer not having to use his powers or strength on humans. Insignificant little hu- okay no, some humans are great, strong, with massive will, and occasionally, kind.

Over his travels, Luffy had met some kind people and some horrible ones. Especially those currently 'ruling' the world, thankfully Luffy had never met them, only heard passing words. He would dread the day when their paths would cross or maybe they should dread it. Because when the time comes, maybe the deity won't be able to ignore their 'ruling', anymore.

So like previously warned... IK IKKKK this is supposed to be a diff person but honestly I still want him to be luffy. ugh what am I saying. Anyway he has the scar XD, honestly he looks just like Luffy but with blue eyes lol. I just needed a backstory to allow me to turn Luffy into a deity and somehow fit. Sorry I killed the supposed Luffy.

'...specifically, love...' not my favourite line, it's kind of cringey but before this it was motherly love and I don't like it. Couldn't think of any other words that fits better, was going to put empathy but then it was not kindness in purest form, lol. Dilemma, end up sticking to 'LOvE~' *shiver*

Yes I cringe at my own work a lot (it's not good).
