Chapter 1: "Unlikely Encounters"
The evening was overcast, casting a shadow over Hollyoaks as Ste Hay stepped out of his front door. He had just had a heated argument with James Nightingale, his ex-boyfriend, which left him feeling frustrated and emotionally drained. As he walked down the familiar streets, he couldn't help but replay the harsh words they had exchanged in his mind.
Ethan Williams, on the other hand, was in his cozy new apartment, brooding over his own problems. He had been upset with Sienna Blake's decision to choose Rafe over him. Their budding romance had come to an abrupt end, leaving Ethan feeling rejected and dejected.
Neither Ste nor Ethan had any plans for the evening, so they both decided to seek solace in the same place: The Dog in the Pond. As fate would have it, they arrived at the pub almost simultaneously. Unaware of each other's presence, they took seats at opposite ends of the bar.
Ste ordered a drink and stared into it, trying to drown his sorrows. Ethan, on the other hand, tried to lose himself in his phone, scrolling through messages from friends and trying to forget about Sienna.

Ethan looked up, surprised by the stranger's approach but welcomed the company. "Not at all," he replied, offering a faint smile.
