A couple of days after building the roller coaster, Maria and Thomas were down in the base again working on something.
"So, what do you think of the new machine?" asked Maria as they looked at blue prints that were laid out on a table.
"Looks good, Perry should love it," said Thomas.
"Ah, good, you're both here," said Phineas while he and Ferb entered the room and headed straight toward them.
"There's something we need to tell you," he said.
"What is it, dad?" asked Maria.
"Perry is getting too old to be an active agent, so a newbie has been assigned to us," said Ferb.
"Wait, that means getting a new pet doesn't it?" asked Thomas.
"That's right, and his name is Lary," said Phineas before a monkey landed on the table out of nowhere.
"Alright, having a pet monkey does sound cool," said Maria while petting Lary's head which he seemed to like as he pushed his head into her hand.
"But what about Perry?" she asked.
"I'll remain with you in my retirement," said Perry while walking over to them. He was able to talk thanks to a collar Maria and Thomas had made for him which translated his noises into human words.
"Alright then, but we're going to have to fix everything around here to work for Lary," said Thomas as he looked around at all the gear that was fitted for only a platypus to use.
"We'll help out along with Carl," said Ferb. Later that night, Maria was laying in bed going through posts on MeBook.
"Wow, the roller coaster has gone crazy online, we may have to do something big like this again at some point," said Maria while moving through different posts.
"That witch," said Maria while suddenly sitting up at seeing a post from Emiley.
