Days Later
Brooke had been listening to the familiar back to back story and soundtrack of the wizard of oz.
Because for some reason Salem had taken a strong interest in it.
And when Brooke questioned the four year old.
She was taken aback by her answer. (I'm happy Lindsey a gone.)
(I like it better when it's just the three of us.) Salem replied.

I played polite with Lindsey. For Lucas 's sake. Now that I knew she was out of the picture. I was relieved. I wanted Lucas to be happy. I just didn't think he was meant for him.
Why did I care. Why was I emotionally invested?
I had my own relationship to focus on.
But I needed to know he kept the letters.
So when we had the opening in our schedules.
I found myself at his office.
He closed the door behind me.
(Is everything okay?) Lucas asked.
(I just need you to answer me then I'll go.)
(Why keep the letters I had given you from that summer?) Brooke asked.
