"If you are hungry, you'd better eat because I have a pretty good idea what is coming next," Jack told Lisa as the two sat at Maggie's in the corner the next morning. Lisa made a face, and sighed, shaking her head at Jack.

"I'm hungry, but I'm not. You think they are going to send me?" Lisa asked, hopeful she was wrong.

Jack sipped at his coffee and nodded as he put it down, "At this point," he made eye contact, "without a doubt. Your blood pressure was too high, and they wouldn't be taking this long unless the clinic here was coordinating admitting you. I think you're done. They told you not to leave town and go home because they knew, but couldn't confirm without speaking to your doctor, they are concerned and think you should be admitted."

Lisa groaned and sat back in the chair as she rubbed her side. She had admitted to Jack she'd developed a headache on the drive home, a pretty intense one. She'd been trying to just rest and hydrate, part of the reason for the extra stops, but she wasn't stupid; she knew it was probably her blood pressure, and she'd been trying to relax and rest. Surprisingly, on the trip to Montana, she'd done a lot of that. She'd slept well the second night at the hotel, and even the first night, after being awake so long, she'd slept in for her. Sometimes, though, as the doctor at the clinic said, you can't do anything about blood pressure.

"How about a cup of soup at least?" Jack looked to her, and she thought about it, nodding in agreement. Jack waved his hand and called over the waitress.

"Can I get a cup of the chicken noodle soup today?" Lisa asked. She looked to Jack and he pursed his lips as he thought.

"I'll take a BLT, no fries or anything," he said, and the waitress left. Lisa tilted her head at Jack.

"Not that it matters, but why are you ordering lunch at 10:00 in the morning? I'm the one who might be sent to the hospital." Lisa asked him as she rubbed at her side.

He rolled his eyes, "Where do you think I'll be? There's a reason I insisted we drive my truck today," he nodded with a frown. "Your face is swollen, your ankles and hands are swollen, Lise. I think the doc is concerned. I didn't want to be driving your car back and forth from the hospital today. I told Tim I might be out all day and maybe longer."

"I'm still supposed to have another three weeks and two days," she said with a frown, shaking her head. "It's too early."

Jack sipped at his coffee and shrugged, "Babies have a mind of their own."

"How are you so calm?" Lisa gestured. Jack made eye contact.

"Never said I wasn't worried, just don't show it like Lou does. My guess is that you will get a call here soon from the clinic telling you that, yes, your doctor wants you to drive down to Calgary and be admitted."

Lisa nodded as he spoke, and she sighed again, fanning her face. She was so hot, "I realize all of this is the way it is, but I guess I'm not prepared. I did pack my bag last night, but I didn't know what to pack," she sighed. "Ugh, my back is killing me."

"You'll be fine," he winked at her. "I'm not going anywhere either. Invested interest," he said with a small smile. She chuckled at that.

"I'm not ready for this Jack. I haven't had time, and I'm supposed to have more time. Why can I plan parties and events with no problem, but I've put off my own baby so long." She closed her eyes and shook her head.

"Why look who it is!" Jack and Lisa's eyes widened at each other, and they both turned their heads to find Val walking up to the table. "It's just two of the most discussed people in town."

"Val," Jack said firmly, "don't start. I've told you I'm not putting up with it."

"Oh, wow, Lisa," Val grinned and started to chuckle, "my, my. I haven't seen you in some time. You look like a house."

"Ahh, thanks," Lisa looked up at her with a fake smile plastered on her face. "I love the look of my beautiful house, so I'll take that compliment."

Val, shocked at Lisa's comeback, scowled, but quickly tried to school her features. Jack hid his face behind his coffee mug but looked to the ground. Lisa just looked at Jack and threw him a smile.

Val tried again, "Everyone is talking about your baby boy, Benoit, is it?" Val made a face like she was spitting out the name. "Interesting choice, isn't it Jack, very FRENCH."

Lisa now raised her tea glass to sip at it and hide her own smile. Val had definitely been talking to Dan, and for certain, the two had been gossiping all over town.

"Where'd you hear that name, Val?" Jack looked to her, no expression on his face, just a very matter of fact question to Val.

"Oh, was it a secret?" Lisa clutched her chest. "Oh my. I'm so sorry if it's not a secret anymore!"

"Goes with Bartlett nicely, the double B sound," Lisa blurted out, sitting back in the chair, putting her elbow over the back of the chair and looking directly up at Val, almost in a challenging stance. She had definite sarcasm in her voice, but Val didn't pick up on it. Jack about spit out his coffee that he was trying to sip to avoid smirking behind the mug.

"Well, if that's how you are playing this off," Val shrugged with a fake smile she was trying to pass off as genuine. "I had no idea you were this far along Lisa or this swollen all around. Ahh, poor dear," she said, clutching her chest, "you just look miserable. Pregnancy glow isn't something everyone has, is it? How much longer-must be VERY soon."

"Yes," she said, throwing a fake smile at her again. Jack watched and was ready to say something if necessary with these two. "You know what, you never know with a baby. I guess we will see."

Just then, Lisa's phone rang, and she looked at it, nodding to Jack, "It's the-" she paused and motioned him with eye movement. He picked up on it right away.

"Val, if you will excuse us," he said, standing. "Lise, let me help you get up for that call."

Their food was also brought over, and Val tried one last time, "Well, I will be sure to bring over a baby gift after the little guy is born. I really have to see if there's any resemblance, huh Jack?"

Jack just ignored her and almost pushed her out of the way to help Lisa get up. She answered as she stood, and then, she stepped over to the door to step outside, "Lisa Stillman, they heard as she answered the phone.

"We're going to eat, Val," Jack said with a firm nod indicating he was ready for her to go. "Looks like a very busy day ahead, and we both need to eat now."
