Lucas swallowed hard. The last he saw her was when he left. She turned down his engagement and he went dark. Confused and hurting. He remembers it well.

(Peyton what exactly are you doing here?) Lucas questioned.
The smile on her face vanished.

(We have the careers we worked hard for. I have Red Bedroom. You're a published author on the rise. I was so overjoyed seeing you're dream come true.) Peyton said.
(You were at the book signing?) Lucas asked.
