Y/N POV
I can remember. Not like it was yesterday. Because my memories, although I am getting them back... are still so far away. Some are fuzzy. But most are broken.
As you breathe, bubbles escape your mouth. How long had it been since you've been down there? Under the water, wrapped by the roots of the Ambrosial Arbor. Your essence slowly but surely keeping the Arbor alive. Then there was a change... it was almost. Painful.
What was happening? What was this feeling? The dragon roots of the arbor scream in pain as a new power surged forth. A stellaron was now imbued to the Arbor. Although you do not know this, not yet. You just know an unknown power had taken hold. And since you were providing life to the roots, you too were affected.
Something changed... but what? It felt as if you were no longer the same person. And not in the sense of reincarnation. But in the sense of your powers. Although you could try to test them out, the Arbor took precedence. You would grunt and groan as you had to withstand the pain this new power brought forth to the Arbor. Panting almost heavily now. This power was too much. But you must persevere. Not like you had much choice in the matter.
The pain was almost too much to bear. It made you wonder if this was what you deserved to go through to pay for a crime you committed in your last life. How was this fair to you?
As your eyes close you recall a memory to which you had taken a lot of damage. Although you were a healer, there was even so much you could do for yourself when you were in a state where you couldn't even move your arms. It felt almost as painful as then.
You recalled a strong set of arms which held you and carried you.
"Y/N... you will not die here. Not now... I've got you, ok?" As you try to envision the man talking to you, you couldn't recall his face. But his voice... is one that will forever remain in your heart. It was so calm and soothing to listen to. You even would open your eyes slightly as that memory alone eased the pain ever so slightly. But not even memories can stop what was happening.
I wish to see him once more. Please...
You begged your memories to show themselves. But they always left you with a heavy heart. Frustrations would build as you always had a hard time remembering your past. You knew that you weren't even supposed to remember anything. You had reincarnated so why were you able to remember a few things? Were these repercussions for saving the Imbibitor Lunae from his eternal damnation?
And you could not even recall why. Which was the worst part of it. All you could remember was the feeling... you knew you didn't want him to suffer. You felt a tinge of guilt too. But why? It was like your old memories plagued you. Haunted you with the feeling but not the memory to it. This current life never even had a chance to make her own. Will you be stuck here forever? For how long?
There was an ache in your chest that couldn't be quelled.
Kafka POV
Kafka was summoned to speak with Destiny's Slave. Receiving orders to follow, although she was not given the full context of everything, she already knew why. She is meant to be apprehended later. And they would read her mind, her memories. Of course she knew better than to question the Stelleron Hunter's leader. A smile curled on her lips as she bowed. "I have received your orders."
"Be sure to bring Blade with you. He will play an essential role, after all." A voice from the unknown came. "He will be happy to be able to pursue his mission there."
"Especially since he will be seeing an old friend if his," Kafka chuckled as she understood the plan. "If that's all, I'll be sure to contact the astral express after Blade's capture."
Kafka walked out, looking between her comrades as she smiled yet again. "Come on, Bladie. We've got some work to do."
The black haired man stood from where he was sitting. A sinister smile on his face as she noticed he couldn't seem to contain himself.
"You seem eager," Kafka chuckled. "Good, although I will need you to keep your mara in check until the right times."
"Don't worry so much about me... I know this," he replied in a deep voice. She could see that crazed look in his eyes wanting to come out. Blade was getting better with restraining himself. She lifted her sunglasses to her head, with a swift flick of her wrist.
"Let's go. We've got some ruckus to cause."
