Losing Splinter, Cassandra and now Raph and Donnie...
Sacrifices are made while wounds tried to heal and become scars. Yet sometimes scars may never fully heals when a love one sacrifices themselves for you.
It was a quiet night at the hidden lair of the turtles and they're not doing alright. They're just getting patched up but they were all in silence. Hizuki finished patching up Mikey who gave a sad smile but tears were in his eyes. Hizuki smiled bitterly with pain in her eyes.
She could still see it in her eyes what happened earlier and... it was all too painful to bear...
"Leo, you need to get them out of here!"
"Raph, Donnie, we can't lose you!"
"We love you, Leon..."
"DONNIE! RAPH!"
"It's not fair..." Hizuki looked up to see Mikey sniffing and starting to cry.
"It's just not fair, Hizuki... We lost dad... We lost Cass and now..." Mikey couldn't continue and started to sob silently.
"Mikey..." Hizuki didn't know what to say but there were no words to express how much pain she was feeling.
The Krang invaded their planet 23 years ago and it's been such a devastating blow to lose their close friends and loved ones. Splinter was the first to be gone protecting them then Cassandra who stayed behind to protect them and her son and now... Raph and Donnie are gone...
"We'll get through this, Michaelangelo." Hizuki can only say as she gave Mikey a hug as he let out quiet sobs until he slowly fell asleep.
Hizuki laid him down on the cot and put the blanket up to his plastron and pat his head gently.
"Just get some rest, Mikey. We all need it." Hizuki muttered quietly and left the medical wing to check on the others.
She checked up on April, Casey and Kiko and they were doing okay minus the injuries they got. Kiko has a small cut to her cheek but April fixed that up.
"How is he, Hizuki?" Casey asked as Hizuki entered to get some more bandages.
"He's resting now, Casey. It's been hard on all of us since..." Hizuki trailed off as she got some ointment and bandages.
"You're gonna check on father, mother?" Kiko asked in a Japanese accented voice."
"Hai, Kiko. Your father needs it." Hizuki said as she smiled softly to which Kiko returned.
"Yes, he does, mother." Kiko nodded sadly as she hugged her knees and Casey gave her a side hug.
Hizuki smiled softly at them and nodded to April who nodded back sadly as she rests her head on her arms.
Hizuki approached the bedroom on the other side of the lair and knocked gently. She didn't need to get an answer since the door was unlocked and she opened it to see the condition of the room after they got home.
Papers were everywhere, furniture was all thrown around the room and in the corner of the room is the turtle she's looking for.
Leo locked himself in his room after their mission and refuses to come out for treatment even when their daughter tries to get him to come out but nothing works.
She came to him slowly and sat down beside him quietly.
"Leo, I need to check on your injury." Hizuki started.
"I could have saved them..." Leo suddenly said as she looked at him.
"I should have done more then..." Leo didn't finish as he wrapped his only arm around his knees.
His other arm was cut off during a battle last month and it's taking a while to heal.
"Leo... You know that things were about to become worse... Things happened and-" Hizuki said, only to be cut off.
"That's just it, Zuki! Things, bad things always happened ever since the Krang came! Things are never the same after 23 years! We lost dad, we lost Cassandra and we lost too many! Just why?! Why them too?!" Leo yelled angrily as he hit the floor in frustration and he let his tears fall down his eyes and Hizuki hugged him from behind and churred softly and in comfort.
Leo sobbed softly and put his arm around Hizuki and hid his face on the crook of her neck as they held each other close.
"I can't lose you or anybody else, Hizuki..." Leo whispered in fear as tears continued to silently fall from his eyes.
"And I can't lose you as well, Leonardo..." Hizuki whispered back and started to cry softly.
She stayed strong in front of others but in front of Leo, her husband, the dam breaks and she just breaks down and cries. This has been like that ever since the Krang happened and they always tried to find comfort with each other or sometimes with their family.
They can't lose each other... Not now... They just can't...
Explosions...
Their lair has been breached a month later and they're running out of time.
That's the only thing that Leo can hear and he saw how April pushed Kiko out of the way and took the hit for her. He watched how Casey tried to wake her up but nothing as Kiko cried softly.
"Get out of here!" The sudden shout was heard as he looked over and his heart dropped and became ice cold.
He saw Hizuki standing up against a mutant Krang and by the looks of it, she was losing. Hizuki dodged another attack from it and she turned to Leo.
"Leo, go! Get Kiko and the others out of here!" She shouted as she sliced the head of the Krang mutant.
"No! Hizuki, I'm leaving you! I just can't!" Leo cried out as he stood up unsteadily and walked towards her while holding his side.
"Leo, we're running out of time! The lair is gone and we're outnumbered! Please..." Hizuki said as she looked at him pleadingly.
"Keep our family safe. No matter what..." She whispered and Leo couldn't bear it and hugged her tightly while ignoring the pain on his side.
They pulled back a little before sharing one deep yet last passionate kiss as tears poured down from their eyes before pulling away.
"I love you, Leonardo." Hizuki whispered as Leo gripped her hand, not wanting to let go.
"Hizuki, please... I can't lose you too..." Leo sobbed softly as Hizuki just smiled at him and kissed him one more time before letting his hand go and running into the fray to buy them some time.
"HIZUKI!!!!" Leo screamed in pain when he watched her disappear.
A laser hit where she was most likely standing or fighting as Leo felt someone helping him run as they pant heavily and tried to find cover.
"Father, where's mother?" Kiko's voice was heard as Leo looked at Kiko who looked confused yet scared.
"She's... She's gone..." Leo choked out as Kiko's eyes widened in shock but they can't mourn right now. They have to get to safety or find cover at least.
Leo looked back once where Hizuki was last seen and all that was left was her naginata that she had laying on the ground next to a pile of ashes.
