Kayla packed the last of her stuff in her suitcase before checking to make sure she has everything. She picked up her backpack before grabbing her suitcase and went out of her apartment room before locking the door.
"Where are you going, sweetheart?" That irritating voice asked which made her cringe.
Of all the times when she wanted to leave, he had to appear. She turned around and saw that much to her displeasure, Kennedy Billionaire. Resident playboy of the school and worst of all, her ex.
"What do you want, Kennedy? I told you last time that I don't want anything to do with you." Kayla told him as she walked past him but he just followed.
"Oh come on, Kayla. Don't tell me you're still mad about the whole cheating thing?" He said which made her stop and gave him a deadpanned look.
"What do you think? You cheated on me for that liar and you pretend like it never happened." Kayla said.
"Hey, it was a small mistake." Kennedy said, which made Kayla to just give him a small glare before huffing and continued to walk.
"So where are you going?" He asked but Kayla didn't answer him and just pressed the down button in the elevator.
"I'm not telling you and you stay away from me, you jerk." She growled before stepping into the elevator and closed the door on his face.
She let out a sigh and leaned against the elevator wall as it went down. What did she even see in that guy in the first place? Oh yeah, she started dating him when Liliana confessed to Sunflare in front of the whole school. She was planning on telling Sunflare her feelings for him at the roof of the school but it seemed Liliana made the first move. So she started dating Kennedy Billionaire after a week only to catch him cheating on her with Liliana. Tears pricked her eyes as she wiped her eyes furiously.
"I only went out with you cause you look so pitiful."
That made her laugh bitterly. Yeah she looked pitiful that day but how can someone blame her? She got her heart crushed by two guys and only her friends ever asked if she was okay or not. The elevator dinged and she walked out with her bags and gave the key to her apartment to the reception.
"Hey, if some people are looking for me, don't tell them where I'm going. I won't say where but... Give them this letter for me. Please." She said softly as she handed the receptionist the key and letter who looked surprised.
"Are you sure about this, child?" She asked in concern.
"I'm sure, ma'am. Thank you for your hospitality." She said with a weak yet friendly smile before exiting the building.
The receptionist didn't go by any names but if there's one thing she can do is that she can see strings of destiny connected to souls. Right now, she's seeing blue and white strings intertwining between Kayla and someone else.
"May fate and stars guide you to your destiny, young one." She said mysteriously as she put the key back to where it belongs.
Kayla walked to where the bus stop is as she got the ticket to go to New York. She wasn't the only one. There were some people waiting for the bus as well as she just held her ticket and waited. The bus arrived in a few minutes and they boarded. She sat down at the very back of the bus as she looked outside the window. She missed a certain bluenette seeing her leave as she was occupied with her thoughts and wondered what was in store for her in New York.
She already took the data card of her phone and was planning on getting a new one once she gets to New York and hopefully changes her number.
Meanwhile, at a grocery store, Marinette just came out of the store with bags of food and ingredients for her and Adrien's necessities. She knows she, Adrien and others live in a huge mansion due to Emily and Amelia being the daughters of a kind and rich billionaire but she always wants to help with the house. She watched a bus drive by but a certain someone on the bus caught her eye.
"Was that Kayla, Marinette?" A tiny and squeaky voice asked from her purse.
"I think it was, Tikki. But... Why was she on the bus?" Marinette said in confusion but she was concerned.
The light to the walkway turned green and she quickly crossed the road and to the bakery she and Adrien are working in. She came inside just as Adrien took out freshly baked pastries. He was about to greet his girlfriend when he noticed the troubled look in her eyes.
"Marinette, what's wrong?" Adrien asked in concern as Plagg came out of his pocket jacket as he and Tikki went off somewhere to talk privately.
"Adrien, you might not believe me but I just saw Kayla leaving on a bus." Marinette said, which concerned Adrien.
"You don't think SHE did something, do you?" Adrien asked as he led Marinette to a chair as they sat down.
"That's what worries me. I don't know why but something must've happened." Marinette said.
"Hey, everything okay? Tikki and Plagg told me you have something to tell me?" Tesla came in while carrying a tray of newly baked cookies.
"Tesla, did something happen at school?" Marinette asked worriedly.
"Yeah. Something happened." Tesla said as she put the tray down.
"Oh gods... Can you call the others? It's important." Marinette said as the two Kwamis came back with worried expressions.
"Will do, Spots." She said as she went to call the others.
"Marinette, are you sure of what you saw?" Adrien asked once Tesla was out of ear shot.
"I don't know, Adrien. I just don't know..." She sighed and looked out the window, worried for her friend.
Somewhere in New York, a golden portal opened up and dropped someone familiar in an alley. The figure landed with a pain and weak groan as they held their stomach. They blink their molten golden eyes from the sudden brightness of the sun.
"M... M'key...? R'ph...? D'nie?" He called out weakly. He got up slowly but bit his tongue to stop a pained cry from escaping.
He looked at his leg and winced at how mangled up it looked. It seemed he dislocated his leg bone in THAT place. Being a medic, he had to realign his leg if he wanted it to heal properly.
"This is gonna hurt..." He groaned as he bit onto something before placing both hands on his leg. Counting mentally in his mind, he realigned his legs and almost cried out in pain and agony at the sickening crack from it.
Panting heavily, he took off his gear to make a splint before getting up. He looked around for anything familiar but nothing.
"W-Where am I?" He's pretty sure he's not in Kansas anymore.
The bus just arrived in New York and Kayla got off as she looked at the city. She was nervous yet excited to start her new life in a new environment but most of all, away from HER. She knew she should have texted her friends at Canterlot but she thought that they would be better off without worrying about her.
"Goodbye Canterlot. Hello New York." She whispered.
Invisible to the eyes, the two colored strings are intertwining with each other as two souls are soon fated to meet each other.
