Chapter 15: Sarah and Cyborg

Vic was waiting near the door of the tower. He and Sarah were finally going out for dinner. Their plans had gone from coffee to dinner. And neither of them knew exactly how?

Vic couldn't exactly dress up for such an occasion, so he had to make due with his bowtie.

Then, Vic heard a knock at the door.

Vic took a breath as he picked up the flowers he had gotten for Sarah.

Vic opened the door, and grew warm in the face as he saw Sarah.

She was wearing a nice orange dress that hugged her figure a little, and her hair was let down.

Sarah asked, "h-hey. How do I look?"

Vic said in awe, "b-beautiful."

Sarah blushed like a tomato.

Vic held out the flowers and said, "these are for you."

Sarah said, "aw, thanks."

Sarah took the flowers and gave them a sniff.

Vic said, "I'm glad you like them. And, uh, thanks for picking me up, instead of the other way around."

Sarah said, "no problem."

Vic said, "I swear, I'm nearly finished building my own car. I'll be able to do the picking up next time."

Sarah said, "heh, well that's good. Well, let's head out."

Vic said, "gladly."

As Vic and Sarah went to the car, they didn't notice a green mouse staring at them.

But as it was about to scurry towards the car, they were engulfed by a ball of anti-light!

The mouse was turned around to see Raven and Jack glaring at him.

Jack said, "dude, you're not spying on him."

Raven let the mouse go, and it turned back into BB.

BB groaned, "dang. Why not?"

Raven said, "we know you, Blackfire and Victor were spying on us on our date. We aren't letting you do it to Victor."

Jack said, "yeah, We ain't petty. Me and Raven wouldn't spy on you if you had a date."

BB grumbled as they walked off back to their room.

Jack said, "I hope Vic's date goes well."

Raven said, "same here."

….

Vic and Sarah arrived at the pizza place a while later.

Being the Titans' favorite place to go out to eat, and the fact that Sarah had been wanting to try the place out for some time, so it was like hitting two birds with one stone.

Sarah and Vic had ordered an extra large meat lover's pizza. Both were having water for now.

Sarah asked, "so, how exactly did you meet your friends?"

Vic explained, "well, it was a while after my accident. I was taking a walk, when I saw Jack, Beast Boy and Nightwing fighting Starfire. Raven joined in right after I did. It was a rocky meeting, but eventually, we teamed up to fight the guys who captured her. Shortly after that, we formed the Titans. Eventually, as time went on, Blackfire and Rose eventually joined the team. After so much time together, we aren't just a team…. We're a family."

Sarah said, "that's so sweet Victor."

Vic said, "yeah…. They're the only people who don't treat me…. Different."

Sarah asked, "different?"

Vicnodded and said, "after my accident, a lot of people were scared of me. Treated me like…. Like…."

Sarah put her hand on Vic's cheek.

Vic asked, "Sarah?"

Sarah said, "Victor, look at me. You. Are. Not. A. Freak."

Vic tried to say, "bu-"

Sarah said, "but nothing. It's like you said, your differences don't make you any less human."

Vic smiled and said, "thanks."

Sarah said, "you're welcome."

That's right when their pizza arrived.

Vic said, "well, uh, shall we dig in?"

Sarah said, "definitely."

The two started eating the pizza with huge grins on their faces.

….

Meanwhile, at the tower….

Jack was mixing together some spaghetti sauce in a pot.

Or rather, two.

One with meatballs, one without.

The reason for that? Obviously, because BB didn't eat meat, and Jack wanted to make sure he had food that would please everyone.

He had one larger pot, cooking the noodles in boiling water.

Dick was off in the training room. BB was lying next to Percy as a cat. Blackfire was napping next to Starfire as she was reading a book titled, "proper etiquette for social gatherings and such."

Rose was playing a game on her communicator, while Raven was once again, reading a book.

A relaxing night for the Titans.

….

Vic and Sarah were now at the arcade.

And Sarah was somehow managing to kick Vic's butt on Pacman!

Vic asked, "how are you so good at this? I'm half computer, and I can't even calculate how to play this game so well!"

Sarah said, "I've been playing arcade games since I was a kid. Being a tomboy has that advantage."

Vic could only chuckle as Sarah continued taking in points.

….

Meanwhile, at H.I.V.E.

We see Jinx sitting in her dorm room at her school. She was writing in a journal.

Hey journal. It's me again. Jinx.

So, no-one has been able to catch onto the fact that I'm working with the Titans. That's good. I've been making sure to take precautions though. I put several charms on this book, so no one except me will even be able to touch this thing!

I've been keeping in touch with the Titans. I think they're really starting to trust me as their double agent. I just can't wait for the day I can finally leave this whole thing behind and be a hero full time. I'm lucky to have at least one friend in this place. Her name's Karen, but she calls herself Bumblebee. She's also looking to join the hero gig, so I've got someone to help me with my sneaking around and whatnot.

Well, that's all for now. I'm hitting the hay.

And with that, Jinx put her book away under her bed, and slowly drifted off to sleep.

….

Vic and Sarah were now taking a walk through the park. A little bit of scenery to set the mood.

But as Vic and Sarah walked along, some thugs were standing on the side of the sidewalk.

One said, "eh, freak, what're you doing around these parts?"

Sarah whispered, "just ignore them Vic. They're just jerks."

The second one said, "eh, baby, you so desperate for a boyfriend that you date a toaster?"

Sarah felt Vic tense up as she said, "let's just keep walking."

But as they started to walk away, the third one said, "ah, she's just another dumb blonde. Doesn't know how not to date a can opener with a red eye. Freaks!"

Vic stopped as Sarah tried to pull him along.

The three thugs looked on, and suddenly, Vic punched a tree so hard, it was sent out of the city!

The three thugs ran for their lives as Vic said, "c'mon, let's walk for a little longer before heading back to the car."

Sarah nodded, a little impressed as they continued their walk.

Sarah said, "thank you."

Vic said, "hey, they can make fun of me all they want. I'm used to it. They got no right to make fun of you though."

Sarah smiled as she and Vic began holding hands on their walk.

….

Meanwhile, at the Batcave!

We see the caped crusader himself looking over files on his computer.

First he just grazed over his contact list for a moment.

The names of Superman, Green Arrow, Wonder Woman, Hawk Girl, several Green Lanterns, Kimiyo Hoshi, Black Canary, Huntress, Jim Gordon, Barbara Gordon, Plastic Man, Alfred, Martian Manhunter,

Barry Allen, Diana Prince, and many others were in there.

He then began looking through the files again.

Diana walked in in her robe and asked, "Bruce, what are you up to?"

Bruce said, "looking over files on any other young people with powers on Earth. Dick's new team, it may keep growing larger and larger, like how the Justice League has. I'm just looking over possible candidates to join them."

Diana asked, "any good ones?"

Bruce said, "well, I've got Kara, Clark's cousin as a candidate, but you know how much time she and Barbara spend together."

Diana nodded.

Bruce said, "there's J'onn's niece. Heroes such as Blue Beetle, Kid Flash, Speedy, HotSpot. I'm sure Dick will recruit some of them over time."

Diana said, "well good for you. Now, how about we head to bed? I'm tired, and I'm guessing you are, what with Tim and Stephanie going on patrol."

Bruce nodded as he took his cowl off.

Bruce said, "I'll meet you upstairs in a few minutes."

Diana nodded as she went back up the stairs.

Bruce looked at a nearby file on the screen.

It read; Beyond.

Bruce muttered, "one day…"

He then turned off the computer and started changing into his nighttime clothes before departing the cave.

….

Vic and Sarah were standing outside the tower; their date concluded.

Sarah said, "I had an amazing night Victor."

Vic said, "me too. Would you maybe, wanna go out again? Next week?"

Sarah said, "I'd love to. I just hope we won't be busy for a while."

Vic said, "heh, same here."

Sarah said, "oh, and Vic?"

Vic asked, "hmm?"

Sarah stood up on her tiptoes and kissed Vic on the cheek.

Sarah said, "you're not a freak. No matter what any of them say. If anything, that red eye only makes you cuter."

Sarah smiled with a huge blush on her face as she walked back to her car and drove off.

Vic had the goofiest smile on his face as he walked inside

….

Vic walked into the living room, a huge smile on his face.

The others had already finished dinner. Jack was still up with Raven,

BB and Rose. Blackfire, Starfire and Dick were all in bed.

Jack said, "hey Vic. How was the date?"

Vic said, "faaantastic."

BB said, "smoochy smoochy! Somebody is in love.~"

Vic quickly said, " singleguysayswhat ?"

BB asked, "what?"

Vic laughed, "ha! Anyway, I'm heading to bed. Y'all have a great night."

Rose said, "night dude."

Raven said, "good night."

Jack said, "sweet dreams."

Vic smiled as he walked back to his room.

When he entered, he looked at the panel on his arm. It showed a picture of him and Sarah making a toast with their pizza slices.

Vic said, "I'm definitely putting this in a frame on the table."

Vic smiled as he took his tie off and got onto his table, slowly falling asleep and dreaming of where things would go between him and Sarah.

….

We once again see the mysterious figure from before. He was sitting on the top of a building, seemingly chanting to himself.

They were chanting, "my name is…. My name is…. My name is…."

And then, they finally said it.

"My name is Bryan…."
