Beast Boy and Raven stood on the roof, embracing for a few more minutes, each trying to reel in their emotions. Slowly, Raven pulled back from the hug and looked down at Beast Boy's face. He had tear trails down his cheeks, and his green eyes were ringed with red. Raven knew he didn't look much better. This was the most he had ever cried in one day, except when his father tried to invade Earth. Beast Boy looked up into Raven's eyes and smiled softly. Raven returned the smile. His heart was now beating against his ribs roughly.
"Gar, would you do me the honor of being with me?" Raven asked softly.
"Rea, of course, I will as long as I can call you my gir-boyfriend. Wow, that will take a bit to change how my brain thinks," Beast Boy said, ending with a soft chuckle.
"I know I'm still trying to think of myself as a man." Raven chuckled along with Beast Boy.
"so... can I ask why you got angry with my freak out? Since you don't seem to be dealing with this any better in your own way." Beast Boy asked, still smiling.
"nerves turned to anger, Gar, and I was petrified you'd leave me," Raven confessed, turning his head to the side as a blush painted across his nose.
"How could you think that, Raven? You know how much I feel for you!" Beast Boy looked taken aback.
"I know, but I didn't know you could ever love another male," Raven said, turning back to Beast Boy.
"It will take some getting used to, but I got over the whole half-demon thing. I can deal with this, Beast Boy said with determination.
"mhm Gar, have you, by any chance, crushed on another male before?" Raven said, leaning close to Beast Boy's long, pointy ear.
"Have you been crushing on a girl before," Beast Boy countered with a blush.
"I won't lie, yes, I have," Raven chuckled into Beast Boy's ear.
"Wait, what?" Beast Boy's eyes looked as wide as dinner plates.
"What I've known I was bi for a long time," Raven said, pulling back up.
"don't let Robin find out. He might get jealous of you and Star," Beast Boy laughed deep from his gut.
"she's not really my type. I like the funny and cute ones," Raven countered with his own chuckle.
"Hey, I'm not cute. I'm handsome," Beast Boy looked like he swallowed a bitter pill.
"Gar, you try to act cute all the time. Don't try and deny it," Raven said, leaning closer to Beast Boy's face. Beast Boy huffed but didn't deny it.
"Now, Beast Boy, what guy were you crushing on?" Raven said with a playful growl that sent a shiver up Beast Boy's spine.
"Wildfire..." Beast Boy mumbled, pushing his face into Raven's chest to muffle it. Raven's demonic-enhanced hearing picked it up anyway."
"star's brother?" Raven said with a rolling giggle.
"s-shut up. I thought it was kinda safe since he lived on another planet, and we barely ever see him." Beast Boy whined.
"apparently not. Was this your best way to come out?" Raven snorted softly with a raised eyebrow.
"Well, um..." Beast Boy trailed off, going bright red and looking away.
"Gar?" Raven looked intrigued. 'what could make him clam up and turn that red?' Raven thought to himself.
"how much do you know about frogs?" Beast Boy asked, pulling back from Raven.
"not a whole lot, honestly," Raven said, relaxed and still wearing a soft smile.
"Well, some of them can go under a process called. Hermaphroditism, where they change their gender under certain environmental conditions." Beast Boy said, letting his natural intelligence come out.
Raven was stunned into silence, and his jaw almost hit the floor before falling over, roaring with laughter. Rolling on his back, tears came from laughing so hard. Beast Boy looked over at Raven in confusion, then it clicked in his mind. 'oh damn, why was I freaking out at first?' Beast Boy followed Raven onto the floor in a fit of giggles.
After catching his breath, Raven sat up and looked over at Beast Boy. "so you can change your gender. I never got to say it, but I can change my gender temporarily back with a spell." Raven said, still a little out of breath.
"I'm such an idiot," Beast Boy said, rolling on his side to look up at Raven.
"I will not argue with that, but do you want to get back at the others for yelling at you," Raven said with a smirk and a malevolent glint in his eye.
Beast Boy looked at the roguishness radiating from Raven and grinned widely. "what did you have in mind?"
"Well, can you change your body to look different, not just take animal traits?" Raven asked with a thoughtful look.
"I mean, I can change to an extent, like make my arms bigger like a gorilla and stuff like that. My muscles change to mimic the animal." Beast Boy said, now sounding a little lost.
"Can you make more than one change at a time?" Raven said, his grin growing.
"Rea, just tell me your idea," Beast Boy whined.
"You female, and with a sea horse's belly," the evil glint in Raven's eye made Beast Boy's skin tingle.
Beast Boy leaned back, knitting his brows together and closing his eyes, trying to describe Raven's idea. Then it hit him like a hammer to the face, and his whole body turned a rather pleasant shade of red with a blush that reached the tip of his ears to his toes.
"You want them to think I'm pregnant!?" Beast Boy yelled out, still looking like a ripe tomato.
"oh ya! I thought you liked to pull pranks, Gar? What's wrong, you chicken?" Raven said as he stood up.
"You're on, but you have to sell it. I can't do all the heavy lifting," Beast Boy said, crossing his arms.
"no problem, they don't know much about demons. I'll just tell them with our genes, the baby is growing much faster." Raven said with a dark chuckle.
"Rea, you are one scary man. You know that?" Beast Boy said, trying to sound scared, but the excitement in his voice was drowning it out.
"First, we need to make it look like we did something," Raven said, matter of fact.
"is this just a ploy to try and get in my pant Raven for shame?" Beast Boy teased.
"you don't want to?" Raven said with a smirk. Being an empath was really handy at times.
Beast Boy didn't say anything; he just jumped up and wrapped his arms around the taller, dark-haired man. Raven leaned in and pressed his lips to Beast Boys, letting instincts take over.
