Noah woke up to the sound of Justin spraying his hair, much to his great annoyance.
"Can you do that somewhere outside?" Noah asked in annoyance, as the other Gopher males rose from their beds, "We're trying to catch up on what little sleep we get in this show."
"Beauty sleep is important, I can agree," Justin smirked confidently before stopping the hairspray intake, "But I need to ensure that my hair remains as perfect as always."
"Wow dude, this is the longest I've heard you talk in like… ever." Owen chuckled good naturedly.
"Nice observation Owen." Justin chuckled, "I just never felt the need to talk until now."
Noah rolled his eyes at the explanation before an air horn went off at the loudspeakers, "Alright campers. Enough beauty sleep. Time to show us what you're made of."
We then cut to both teams sitting at bleachers near a stage, the Screaming Gophers on the left and the Killer Bass on the right.
Tyler looked around the Gophers' bleachers to see that Lindsay was nowhere to be found and silently opened his mouth in shock, Heather noticed this despair and glared at the jock who looked away sadly.
"Gwen, saved you a seat." Trent said happily as Gwen went to sit next to him, both smiling at each other which Heather noticed. Cody then tried to do lean back next to Trent like the musician was doing, but he fell into the bleachers but he still tried to play it off as cool regardless, something Noah rolled his eyes at.
"Welcome to our brand new, deluxe, state of the art outdoor amphitheater!" Chris said in a grand manner, "Okay, this week's challenge is a summer camp favorite. A talent contest! Each team has eight hours to pick their three most talented campers. These three will represent them in the show tonight. Sing, dance, juggle, anything goes as long as it's legal." He added that last part while keeping a watchful eye for Izzy and Duncan who both pouted at their first ideas being shot down.
"You'll be judged by our resident talent scout, former DJ, VJ and rap legend, Graaaaand Master Chef. Who will show his approval via the Chef-o-Meter." Chris then gestures to a large scoreboard to the left of the stands.
After that, Heather blew a whistle as she held up a folder before smirking at her team at the outside of their cabin, "Okay. I'm the team captain, so here's how this is going to work?"
"Wait, who said you were the team captain?" Gwen asked in annoyance as she held up her notebook.
"Heather did of course. Were you not listening?" Noah smirked mockingly which elicited a chuckle from Owen.
"Okay then, let's take a vote." Heather narrowed her gaze at the goth, "If you want me as the team captain, raise your hand."
Owen, Justin, Noah, Beth, and Izzy all rose their hands much to Heather's glee as she smirked victoriously at Gwen who rolled her eyes.
"Okay then, Justin, Beth, Noah, and I will be the judges." Heather smirked at the three new judges she just picked out, Beth was happy about this while Justin and Noah were a bit confused.
"May I ask why you need us as judges?" Noah asked curiously.
"Justin's a model so I'd think he has some talent show experience, and you need to make up for your performance in the last challenge and I sincerely doubt you have any talent to show off." Heather explained cynically.
"Fair point." Noah shrugged before opting to stand next to Beth, Justin, and Noah who were behind Heather.
Meanwhile with the Killer Bass, Katie and Sadie were dancing to their heart's content, however, they were failing to dance properly and just made their team cringe.
Back with the Screaming Gophers, Owen was seen chugging a bottle of soda, while this was happening, Trent was making conversation with Gwen.
"You should audition, you know." Trent told Gwen who scoffed at the notion.
"Doubtful," Gwen said before smiling at Trent, "But maybe you should go. I heard you by the campfire the other day, you're really good."
Noah smirked at the scene and nudged Cody's arm, "Take note Casanova, that is what flirting looks like." Noah whispered in the geek's ear who looked at Gwen and Trent with a bit of shock.
"Wait, those two are into each other…" Cody asked in shock to which Noah's eyes widened, how could someone so smart be so dumb at the same time?
After that, Owen began belching the ABCs to which Heather immediately recoiled, it was safe to say that it was not going to be in the show tonight.
After that, Gwen began leaving much to Heather's distaste, "Where are you going?!" The Queen Bee asked incredulously.
"Anywhere, but here." Gwen answered nonchalantly before walking off.
Back with the Killer Bass, Tyler tried to do some yo-yo tricks and twirl it around but all it did was tie him up much to his and his team's dismay.
We then cut back to Heather in her ballerina uniform and dancing around the cabin before leaping above her team's heads and putting on a graceful pose, causing everyone to clap for her.
"Well… that was certainly interesting." Justin smirked, clearly liking what he saw, "I give full props, Heather can be in our act."
"I second that." Beth smiled ecstatically.
"Meh, I'm okay with it." Noah shrugged.
"Guys. That's so sweet, okay I guess I'm in." Heather said with faux politeness, "Why doesn't everyone take five."
The team then split off from each other as Heather grabs Beth's arm, "I need you to do something, can you keep a secret?"
Beth nodded fearfully, seeing Heather's hardened gaze before having a walkie-talkie shoved to her, "Gwen's up to something serious, now go follow her and find out what it is. I'm gonna see if I can find an ally to replace Lindsay."
Heather then walked off leaving Beth to bite her lip nervously before going off to follow Gwen.
Later on, Beth was using binoculars to spy on Gwen sitting on a stump while hiding behind a tree before Heather's voice was heard from the walkie-talkie, "Beth, what's going on over there. What is Gwen doing?"
"She doesn't seem to be doing anything wrong. Just writing in a black journal." Beth explained to Heather who hummed with thought before her voice came out from the walkie-talkie again, "A journal huh? I'll keep that in mind for later. Thanks Beth."
Meanwhile in the communal washroom, Tyler was looking into the mirror, saddened by the turn of events that took place. His team made him an outsider, Lindsay got eliminated, and now he was tied up by his yo-yo. Things were not looking very good for the jock.
His thoughts were interrupted by Noah entering the bathroom before immediately breaking out in laughter which caused Tyler to glare at him, "What happened to you?" The bookworm then asked, trying his hardest to take the situation seriously.
"I tried to do a yo-yo act." Tyler said angrily, "Why couldn't you lose so Lindsay can still be here?"
"Because I don't want to lose a hundred thousand dollars." Noah smirked back, "Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go to the bathroom."
Tyler narrowed his eyes furiously, he may not be the most coordinated and popular right now, but in some way, Noah motivated him.
And his motivation was to win the money and rub it in that snarky menace's face. In his rage, he snapped the yo-yo strings off his body and walked away furiously from the bathroom.
"Touchy." Noah scoffed.
After that, Tyler makes it back to the Killer Bass where he stood next to Harold.
"What'd I miss?" Tyler asked curiously to which Harold pointed at DJ doing a stylish ribbon dance in a leotard which impressed the majority of his teammates, which ended in a split.
"Fine. Sign him up. Next." Courtney sighed.
"Me. I can stand on my hands for twenty minutes." Bridgette said happily before getting into a handstand, which did not amuse Courtney.
"Okay, that would be cute if you were a monkey." Courtney scoffed, "I just don't think that's quite what we're looking for. Next."
Harold then walked to the front of his teammates and breathed in before Courtney said, "Next!"
Harold sighed but before he could go back to the crowd, Tyler stopped him.
"Hey, come on Courtney. He did win us the challenge last time. Maybe we should let him try out." Tyler suggested.
"No way, how could some freak like Harold have any talent?" Courtney scoffed in annoyance, causing those such as Bridgette, DJ, Geoff, Katie, and Sadie gasp in shock to which Courtney was confused at.
"What?!" Courtney asked indignantly.
"That was so mean." Sadie loudly whispered to Katie who nodded, "Oh my gosh, totally." Katie nodded, whispering just as loud.
Courtney began to sweat before seeing the glares on DJ and Geoff's faces and relenting, "Fine. Show us what you got."
Harold breathed in and out before starting to beatbox, with perfect synchronization which surprised Duncan, Courtney, and pretty much everyone on the team. Once Harold was finished, he smiled hopefully.
"Uh… I guess I was wrong." Courtney stammered, "You can be in the show."
"Yes!" Harold cheered excitedly.
Confessional: Tyler
"I'm really glad I stepped up for Harold back there. I know how it's like to have your skills be underestimated…" Tyler smiled before sighing, "I just hope we win today's challenge."
Confessional Ends
We then see Geoff riding on his skateboard off the rock and onto the stump which impressed everyone, including Courtney.
"Well, I guess it's DJ's ribbon dance, Harold's beatboxing, and Geoff's skateboarding. Sorry, you can't do your solo." Bridgette said sympathetically.
"Eh, Chef's the one judging. I doubt he'd appreciate fine art." Courtney shrugged, surprisingly calm about the whole ordeal.
We then see that back with the Screaming Gophers minus Gwen, Beth was spinning fire batons much to the worry of everyone surrounding her.
"Are you sure this is safe?" Heather asked in disgust.
"It's okay. I've been practicing." Beth explained, that did little to reassure her teammates before she threw both batons in the air, causing one to start hurtling towards them. They all immediately ducked behind the benches as the baton made a small burnt hole in the grass.
"I kinda missed the catching class." Beth admitted with a sheepish grin.
"Would've been nice to know EARLIER!" Noah shouted angrily.
"Uh, guys…" Trent gulped as he saw a bush near the Arts and Craft Center had caught on fire.
As if he moved by the speed of light, Justin immediately ran into the shed and grabbed a fire extinguisher before spraying the bush heroically before the fire could grow and expand.
After that was done, Leshawna walked up to Justin to hand him a thermos which caused Justin to rip his shirt off and squirt the water into his mouth, with one lone drop evaporating once it hit his chiseled chest.
"Okay…" Heather raised an eyebrow once she noticed the display and tried her hardest not to blush, "It looks like it's me, Trent, and… Justin. Any objections?"
Everyone shook their heads no, though Noah looked noticeably annoyed.
Confessional: Noah
"Ooh, look at me ladies. I'm so hot like you couldn't believe. I'll take off my shirt and demonstrate my gorgeous abs." Noah spoke mockingly in a deep voice before going back to his normal voice, "Seriously? Does he have any subtlety?"
Confessional Ends
Meanwhile, Gwen was writing in her diary on a stump when Cody and Noah walked by.
"Hey Gwen." Cody waved happily to which Gwen rolled her eyes at, "Whatcha got there a journal?"
"Beat it." Gwen responded sharply.
"Oh I get it, it's personal. I get it, it's cool brah." Cody tried his best to look cool as he began hovering over Gwen's shoulder before Noah stopped him.
"Nice use of personal boundaries Cassanova," Noah smirked mockingly, "Maybe try giving the girl some space, next."
Cody's eyes widened before blushing in embarrassment and stepping away before Noah went to comment, "The team was wondering where you were so her Majesty sent us to retrieve you."
"By that he means Heather." Cody piped in with a nervous smile.
"Whatever, let's just go." Gwen sighed before walking to the cabins, with Noah and Cody soon following.
When they got to the cabins, they came across Trent tuning his guitar and the burnt hole that Beth made. Before Cody or Noah could explain, Gwen spoke up, "I won't even ask."
She then walked to the girls' side of the cabin in which Cody opened the door for her, which Heather was quick to take notice of, "Look, it's the first hookup of the season."
"Oh yeah, we're going at it big time." Gwen sarcastically smirked before saying, "I need a swim just to cool off."
Gwen slammed the door to the cabin and much to everyone's surprise, came back out with her black two-piece swimsuit.
"Gwen wait, I'll walk with you." Trent told the goth who smiled ecstatically before retaining her cold demeanor, "Sure thing." She said stoically.
"Like I told you, they're into each other." Noah elbowed Cody.
"Aw man, I really thought I had a shot there." Cody sighed sadly.
"Your flirtations were pretty discomforting. C'mon, I heard Owen said he was gonna go for a swim as well." Noah told Cody before they went into the guys' cabin themselves.
Confessional: Noah
"Cody saved my butt big time last challenge, I owe it to him to at least stop him from kicking himself in the foot." Noah said with his usual deadpan demeanor before smirking. "And… if it helps me get a solid ally to the finals, who am I to stop that?"
Confessional: Heather
"I could have gone for Gwen's diary, but after Lindsay left, my alliance became pretty short handed. I'll take Gothy down eventually but for now, I need to wait." Heather said with a threatening gaze in her eyes.
Confessionals End
Meanwhile with the Killer Bass, they were waiting onstage for the show to begin. Geoff was prepping his skateboard, Duncan and DJ were playing cards, Bridgette and Courtney were chatting and Harold was prepping his vocal chords.
"So…" Geoff began asking Bridgette, "Can you really stand on your hands for twenty minutes?"
"Wanna bet that I can't?" Bridgette smirked before Courtney quickly spoke up, "Uh… no. We need to practice and there are wires everywhere. A spotlight could easily fall on one of us."
Geoff, Duncan, and DJ immediately groaned at this before Bridgette stepped up to defend the overachiever, "She's right you guys. Maybe I could do it later."
"If you say so." Geoff shrugged with a smile to which Bridgette smiled back.
Meanwhile Gwen and Trent were sitting on the dock, as Gwen began venting, "Sometimes I just need to get away from everyone y'know. They're all driving me crazy."
She then turned to Trent with a blush on her face, "Well… almost all of them."
The two of them then felt Owen, Cody, and Noah running across the dock, the latter doing so more carefully.
"Cannonball!" Owen cried out before all three guys jumped in the water, unfortunately their antics ended up splashing Gwen much to her great annoyance.
"Ugh! I hate this place!" Gwen cried out before walking off.
"Nice going guys." Trent said in annoyance towards the three.
"Yeah, nice going." Owen glared at Noah and Cody to which Noah rolled his eyes at.
We then cut to the stage where Chris stood on and spoke, "It's the TDI talent extravaganza!" Chris bellowed excitedly, "Welcome to the first ever Camp Wawanakwa talent contest where six campers will showcase their mad skills, and desperately try not to humiliate themselves. First up for the Screaming Gophers, is Justin!"
The Screaming Gophers in the audience immediately began clapping their hands excitedly.
Soon the spotlight shined on Justin, and he immediately began flexing and dancing for the cameras. He then sat on a chair and pulled down a rope, it poured down on Justin, allowing him to whip his wet hair and smile at the audience.
Confessional: Owen
"There are two syllables for hot. Jus and tin." Owen said in awe, "Man that guy is so hot I can kiss him… because he's a really good teammate."
Confessional Ends
"Oh wow, I'm so impressed." Noah smirked mockingly at Cody, "That must have been so difficult."
Cody snickered into his palm but regardless of Noah's snarky remark, the scoreboard showed six bars for the model.
"Okay, I don't know what that was but next up is the big guy, DJ." Chris announced, causing Tyler, Katie, and Sadie to cheer.
DJ gracefully stepped onto the stage and began ribbon dancing, it went gracefully at first but then his legs got tangled up in the ribbon, much to the Bass' worry but he was able to get out of it and make a graceful finish, though everyone saw the nervous smile.
"Dainty, yet masculine. Let's see what Grand Master Chef thinks." Chris said as they turned to the scoreboard, only to see that it only gave out two bars, "Not much."
"So, with two down and four acts to go, it's the Screaming Gophers screaming ahead. Next on deck, Trent! Take it away my bro!" Chris said happily.
So far, nothing seemed to impress Gwen. Justin was nice to look at and all, but the lust everyone had for him didn't seem to grab her attention for long, and DJ was somewhat good but he was on the other team but somehow, once Trent's name was called, her attention was fully grabbed.
Trent took a seat on a wooden chair and smiled as he spoke with guitar in hand, "This goes out to someone special here at camp."
"They say that we've only got summer,
And I say that's really a bummer,
But we'll swim in the sun and have lots of fun,
It'll just be the two of us,
Nothing to do but just hang,
So let me say only this,
Stick around, for just one kiss"
Gwen smiled warmly at this song and sighed happily, was it wrong for her to believe that this song might be for her?
"Nice work, I'm liking your style dude and so does Grand Master Chef." Chris said happily as the scoreboard dinged with five bars.
Trent just waved to the crowd to which Chris rolled his eyes at and spoke, "Okay, quit hogging my light buddy."
Chris then shoved Trent backstage and began speaking to the camera, "Three down and three to go and the Killer Bass are totally losing so far. Let's hear it for Geoff."
Geoff immediately began skateboarding onstage and jumped off and back on his skateboard again, but before he could continue, he slipped off the stage much to the Screaming Gophers' amusement and the Killer Bass' dissatisfaction.
"Welp, it looks like Geoff's skateboard fail registers three points on Chef's scoreboard. However, it's not enough to hold the lead over the Gophers with Trent's love song. So without further delay, here she is for the leaders. Heather."
Heather immediately prances onstage with some ballerina dance moves, and she begins doing some graceful poses, putting her leg above her head. And in all honesty, it seemed to impress most of the guys such as Duncan, DJ, Geoff, Harold, Justin, and Cody. Noah and Tyler didn't seem to care however, but Trent was also a bit intrigued by Heather's dance which Gwen noticed and had a downtrodden look at when seeing that.
"Alright, neat job Heather." Chris clapped before the scoreboard dinged only two points, "But unfortunately Chef doesn't seem so impressed."
"Only two points?!" Heather asked incredulously before grunting and heading back to her seat.
"Well then it's down to the final act of the night. Can Harold turn this whole thing around? I seriously doubt it." Chris smirked before walking off, "Let's find out."
Harold then walked onstage and up to the microphone and began beatboxing into it like he did during rehearsal, this time with a little more stress since the whole game was counting on him getting this right. He ended it off once again with a "Boo-yah!"
"Pfft, that team is toast." Heather remarked with a smirk towards Beth who nodded before Chris immediately began whimpering and then clapped with tears of joy much to the shock of all the teenagers.
"You're clapping because you like it, right?" Duncan asked suspiciously.
"Grand Master Chef, your score." Chris smiled before the scoreboard showed all nine points much to the Killer Bass' shock and happiness before they all began cheering, "The Killer Bass win!"
"As for the Screaming Gophers, pick your favorite loser and I'll see you at the bonfire." Chris said happily.
Confessional: Heather
"People thought I did the worst in the talent show, whatever. All I needed was five votes against Justin as he does not offer much other than his good looks. Beth was easy, Izzy's just crazy, Noah hates Justin, and Owen, piece of cake. Now I just need one more vote."
Confessional Ends
We then see Cody at the Mess Hall all alone with some gruel which Heather smirked at before opting to sit next to the geek, "What's going on with you?"
"Just a little bummed out is all. I thought me and Gwen had a chance but all I did was just seem to annoy her." Cody sighed forlorn.
"Yeah, that would be tough, wouldn't it?" Heather admitted with a nod even though she couldn't really understand why Cody was upset at all, "Look, in all honesty, you should probably forget about that thing with weird goth girl. It probably wouldn't be a good idea to get on her bad side."
"Yeah, I've been told." Cody chuckled weakly.
"Mind if I ask who you're voting for?" Heather asked curiously.
"Oh, I'm probably gonna vote someone random. You three of you did great today." Cody admits with a fond smile.
Heather just smirked at this, if Cody didn't know who to vote, then why would she have to worry about him voting for her at all.
"Thanks Cody." Heather said slyly before walking off with Cody waving kindly, unaware of what he had done.
Confessional: Beth
"It's really upsetting to have to send Justin home. At least we'll have reruns of his glorious performance." Beth admitted with a blush on her face.
Confessional: Gwen
"Heather." The goth growled, still likely jealous from the performance she put on earlier.
Confessional: Leshawna
"Heather did the worst out of all of us and annoys me to high heavens. She's gone."
Confessional: Noah
"Justin has nothing to offer except for his looks. At least Heather has some brains."
Confessional: Owen
"Hahaha, piece of cake." Owen laughed with his mouth full of cake.
Confessionals End
We then see at the campfire, Heather and Justin were now the bottom two for today.
"Kudos to you all for an incredible night of entertainment. Music, drama, sick wipeouts. Justin. You reminded us all that looks matter a lot. and Heather, you're full of surprises."
"The last marshmallow goes to…" Chris began before finally throwing it at…
"Heather."
Heather smirked as she caught the sugary treat while Gwen, Leshawna, and Justin all looked shell-shocked at the fact Heather was still in the game.
Justin then walked to the Boat Of Losers, wondering how his game could've went so wrong, while Heather savored the victory of her oppression. Meanwhile, Gwen would continue to sulk at the idea of not being good enough for Trent whilst Trent himself was confused on why Gwen was so upset.
Author's Note: Justin was a fun character to write for but since this is Island, I can't do much for him here. Sorry Justin fans, he is an A Tier character but in season one, he can't go any further than this.
