Ruby looked up at her saviour while in the elevator. A tall tan woman who seemed to be just older than Yang but the more she looked at the woman the more she got reminded of her. She didn't have Yellow hair or violet eyes, instead having silver hair and scarlet eyes. She was a green camouflage crop top and grey camouflage pants with a black and white jacket and a strange sword on her back. Her figure was pretty bottom heavy and somehow reminded Ruby of a kangaroo
"What was that!" Juniper yelled fairly shaken up by what had happened. They were attacked by a Grimm she has never heard of or ever seen swimming around the island or in a book. It was just a Grimm that would've been a legend but was forgotten to time. Ruby wanted to answer that question but had no answer herself. She only knew that it was the Rook
"Maybe you should all calm down. You guys look really rattled" a soft voice came from the corner of the elevator making both Ruby and her saviour turn to the origin of the voice noticing a girl just a bit shorter than Ruby herself standing there. Unlike the tanned stranger the corner girl was pretty pale, short and had a soft voice unlike the seemingly loud one of her saviour
"Well yeah d-did you see what t-the Grimm did! I-It killed people! Murdered them like i-it found it fun to k-kill" It began to finally sink into Juniper and she didn't really take it well. She had just seen a strange Grimm she didn't know about kill multiple of her fellow students and they only managed to survive because they managed to overwhelm it and Ruby got saved because of a surprise attack
"Well you 2 are okay now! We could go to Headmaster Emanuel and tell him about it" The tall girl said, lowering her voice to try and help the pair calm down. She hadn't seen the corpses but from how Juniper reacted it had been pretty bad
"O-Oh no what are we gonna say to the teachers! W-will they trust u-us?" Ruby worried as she began to realise the teachers might think they killed the students and they were gonna get in trouble. She knew people could be really hurt like the beacon initiation but never thought people actually died
"Hey it's okay, really. Teachers should have cameras set up so they should've been able to see everything. But let's change the topic. I never introduced myself did I? The name is Jackie Hyde, resident kangaroo faunus and another first year student" Jackie said while Juniper nodded while Ruby was kind of stumped by what her saviour was saying. She looked more like a third year student than a first year
"How are you so tall and still a first year?" The girl in the corner asked taking the words right out of Ruby's mouth. When looking back at Jackie she noticed she had started to look a tiny bit sad
"I have a slight history of being such a trouble student they keep me in the first, and mostly because I spoke against something mister Taurus said. I'm actually 19 years old" Jackie said and scratched the back of her head a bit nervous from answering that question
"Hey it's no problem. Mister Taurus and Miss Khan's ideas can be a bit weird" Juniper said and stood against the wall of the elevator thinking a bit to herself
"Don't forget to add strangely violent. Oh and my name is Iris by the way. What are your names" Corner girl Iris said and looked between Ruby and Juniper for them to start introducing themselves and it was with this the 2 realised they hadn't yet told their names
"O-oh let me start! I'm Juniper! This is my first take on the exam" Juniper's mood seemed to be lifted a bit as she got to talk a tiny bit about herself and with her a bit happier Ruby brightened up a bit too even if The Rook was fresh in her mind
"My turn! I'm Ruby and like Juniper this is my first exam in this school!" Ruby said with a smile. It seemed like Iris still wanted to say something but was cut off by the doors of the elevator opening, giving them a look into a big room filled with the same kind of elevators all around and when they got out they heard the voice of the headmaster talking
"As you all might've heard and seen we are 3 students short. As sad as it is to say 3 of our huntresses in training have been found death. Death during training is normal. But extraordinarily rare, and as protocol instead of the initiation party it is being shoved to tomorrow. Today you all will only get to hear the team name and who the leader is, for the rest of the day you are free" Headmaster Emanuel said before starting to go around each elevator. Seeing who was in them and coming up with names on the spot
"…..Team PSTL or Pestilence lead by Pearl Quartz and now the last team. Ruby Seraph, Iris Yvan, Jackie Hyde and Juniper Seraph. You are now team SYHS or Sins lead by Ruby Seraph! Enjoy your free day of everyone!" Headmaster Emanuel said loudly while walking away. Juniper was practically jumping while Jackie just smirked and Iris congratulated Ruby on becoming leader
However Ruby was the opposite of happy. She was confused and kind of scared. Last time she led a team it turned into her nearly dying. It made her second guess headmaster Emanuel's decision heavily
"I'm going on a walk" Ruby said. Before anyone could say anything about it however she was gone. Leaving only a cloud of petals

It was hard. Flying through rough winds and rain was never pleasant. However Ruby was more important than what he found pleasant. She was far more important to Qrow than just getting a cold due to flying in the rain
Qrow just had a feeling. A feeling that if he went to the island a just scouted it out for himself he would feel a lot better already but he would feel the best if he just found her
After a long time as a bird Qrow started to feel the storm around him subsiding and in response he let out a happy caw and soon after getting out and away from the storm he found the island. Like what Leonardo said it was small but big enough to have a small town and what looked to be a huntsman academy around it and Ruby or someone who looked like her was supposed to be there and he sure as hell was gonna find out if it was her or a body double. For his sake he hoped it was the former rather than the latter
Qrow began to fly his way toward the big academy of the island. Even if it was a fake academy he couldn't see his happy and energetic niece not wanna to go on or start again with her training. Ruby just wasn't that way. Or he hoped Ruby wasn't like that. He hoped Ruby was still the happy and energetic girl even after what happened to her but when he got close to the academy he noticed someone outside in what looked to be a garden wearing familiar clothes
Qrow could feel his heart stop for a moment as he spotted them. Even with the ears and the slightly hidden tail he knew the resemblance was too close to just be a ordinary lookalike. So he decided to test it. Landing in a tree and turning back into his human form and jumping out of the tree to stand beside it just out of the persons field of view but close enough that they could still hear him. When he stood there he only muttered 2 words
"Hey kiddo"

Ruby just wanted some alone time. It wasn't that her team was bothering her. It was her being leader again. It brought up memories from team RWBY and JNPR. The teams that abandoned her. And by thinking of them most of her thought went to 3 people. Weiss, Yang and Pyrrha. She was scared that 2 of her own teammates would end up like Yang and Weiss. Juniper was already her partner and if this was gonna go on she would probably be treated as her sister since Grace didn't have legal papers for Ruby so the Yang role was already filled out and Iris seemed a bit like Weiss and Blake so those were covered
And then there was Pyrrha. The invincible girl who no one could topple. The last time she had seen her when she saw her crying over Ruby being betrayed and having to leave her. Pyrrha really was someone Ruby looked up to. Metaphorically and physically. But even if she looked up to her Ruby also felt a slight hint of something more than just friend or occasional spar buddies but now that she was on this island she would never be able to pursue the feelings and see if they were reciprocated
It just seemed that all hope was lost for Ruby. Even if she had begun to like the place she currently lived at with Grace, Juniper and her new teammates a big part of her just wanted to go back to beacon and see Pyrrha, Zwei, uncle Qrow and her father again. It made Ruby just want to stop, lay down and cry. However before those thoughts could become bigger she heard something she never expected to head
"Hey kiddo"
"U-Uncle Qrow?" She half yelled as she heard the words and the voice. They couldn't have been anyone other than uncle Qrow but how? She was pulled out of sea by Grace and fishermen and when she woke up there weren't any other people pulled out the water with her so he couldn't have been there with her so if he was there with her. How?
Her questioning however was answered with some footsteps coming from behind a tree near her. She quickly got into a fighting stance even if it seemed a bit strange with only one arm. However the stance quickly turned shakey as she saw who it that made the foot steps
She practically burst into tears and used her semblance to quickly dash towards Qrow and wrap her arm around him to embrace him. She had turned from just walking and thinking into a hugging and crying mess just by him revealing himself. It made her just so happy to see him again after so long. He himself also wrapped his arms around her to get her in a tight hug. He had to admit to himself feeling his niece hugging him with one arm was strange but he wouldn't complain
"Yep it's me kiddo. Cry and let everything out. I'm here for you" he said in the most soothing voice he could muster and luckily or unluckily Ruby just began to cry more and louder. All the sadness and pain seemed to just flow out of her for one moment. One moment Qrow let her pretend that everything was gonna go back to normal
If only everything could go back to normal

The Room was walking through the halls of robotics branch of the Atlas military HQ in the form of it's master. It disliked the feeling of looking but people didn't really ask a lot of questions when you look like them and have a folded up scythe on your back
But they had to keep to me the course and go for the objective set for it. That was finding the schematics and blueprints for the Penny project, whatever that was. But even if it was useless it couldn't stop humouring the queen. If the project was insignificant it could just rub it in her face
However instead of finding nothing it found something. A huge console and a mostly unfinished robot hoisted up by a mechanical arm. The Rook began to slowly type as it could hear it's Lord command into it's ear and tell it how to use the console. It began to type some phrases into the console before finally getting the relevant data it needed, attaching a strange device to the console before looking back at the robot. Even in it's unfinished state it could prove to be useful
So the Rook grabbed Cresent Rose off it's back and unfolded it before unleashing a barrage of swipes at the metal until it could hear it creak and break, leaving the robot to fall down. The Rook put Cresent Rose away and walked towards the fallen robot, forcing the remains of the arm away and lifting the robot. It would give the robot to Watts to be fixed
However as it was turning around with the robot in it's arms it felt something. People were looking at it. As it finished turning to the door it saw 2 dozen soldiers and 3 particular individuals. A old man in a mechanical wheelchair, a pale girl with copper coloured hair and a tan middle age man and from all the people the Middle aged man was the first to speak up even when it's eyes were more fixated on the old man and the girl with copper hair
"Who are you?"
