A/N: I have no idea what this is anymore but it took me forever to write because I don't seem to know what free time is anymore and I just feel "urgh" all the time, I miss writing though
It's hard to be the eldest sibling… not that I'd actually know because I'm a middle child. 10/10 would not recommend trying this with your siblings.
I'm sure I had a better title for this work too, but I never wrote it down and my memory is terrible
I'm sorry I'm advance for any mistakes in this work, but I hope you guys can enjoy it

An Unexpected Sleepover
The low creak of his bedroom door and the sound of muffled footsteps reached his ears, making Lucifer's eyes snap open as he abruptly woke up from his sleep. He quickly turned on a lamp on his bedside table and sat up in his bed to sternly glare at whichever one of his brothers was foolish enough to try to sneak up on him in his sleep only to be met with a pair of unfocused purple eyes beneath dark, tousled hair.
Lucifer stared at Belphie expectantly with a bewildered expression while he waited for the youngest brother to say something.
His eyes followed the Avatar of Sloth as he slowly staggered to the other side of Lucifer's bed and pulled the covers back with one hand while he tiredly rubbed his eyes with the other and yawned.
"Belphie." Lucifer called out to the other demon in a low, warning tone — making Belphie pause in his movements. "This isn't your bed, you're sleepwalking again."
"Hm?" Belphie gave a small hum before he pulled the duvet back even further, clambered into the bed beside Lucifer and he pulled the duvet over himself, nestling into the soft pillows as he murmured, "I'm tired."
"That doesn't mean you can just make yourself comfortable in my bed! Go and sleep in your bed!" Lucifer snapped angrily. "Hey, I'm being serious! Are you listening to me, Belphie?" He shook his brother's shoulder harshly but the only response he received from Belphie was a quiet snore. "Belphie!" He gave another shove but to no avail.
Lucifer heaved a weary sigh as he shook his head and rolled his eyes irritably, "fine, but you're sleeping in your own bed tomorrow night!"
He reached for the lamp again to flick the switch off before he laid back down and stared up at the dark ceiling while he listened to Belphie's slow, deep breaths as he tried to fall back to sleep.
His body slowly began to relax and he finally struggled to keep his eyes open. With a small, content sigh Lucifer settled his head more comfortably into his pillow as he felt his mind ease and his consciousness drift off.
BANG!
"Lucifer!"
He jolted awake and quickly sat up again as his bedroom door flew open and a light shone brightly from the doorway.
"Ngh!" Lucifer grunted irritably and raised his hand in an attempt to shield his eyes from the light. "Mammon! Don't point your torch in my face!" He snapped at the silhouetted figure in his bedroom doorway. "And don't yell, you'll wake Belph…" His sentence trailed off as he turned his head to look at Belphie who was still fast asleep. "… nevermind, he'll sleep through anything."
"Lucifer!" Mammon ignored the older brother's comment as he crossed the room to stand beside Lucifer's bed and spoke in a panicked voice. "I think I heard a growlin' noise from downstairs."
"So?" Lucifer replied, he pushed Mammon's arm down to get the light away from his face and turned on the small lamp on his bedside instead.
"So go and check it out!"
Lucifer gave the second born a long, searching stare before he pulled his duvet off with an irritable huff.
"Wait here." Lucifer instructed as he pushed himself off of his mattress, stepped into his slippers and headed out of his bedroom door, pausing only to grab his dressing gown before he crossed the threshold and made his way down the stairs.
"It was probably just Cerberus." Lucifer muttered under his breath as he wandered through the hallway and glanced around each doorframe.
He did a double take as he walked past the library.
"Satan?"
Lucifer found the Avatar of Wrath sitting in an armchair where he was absorbed in a book that was resting in his lap by the dim light of a dying candle, he was too focused on the story to even notice that Lucifer had called out to him.
"Satan." Lucifer tried again in a more forceful voice.
Satan's eyes continued to race across each sentence at lightning speed before he quickly turned to the next page.
"Oh for the love of—" Lucifer rolled his eyes and he moved closer to Satan before taking the book out of his brother's lap.
"Hey!" Satan tried to snatch the book back and glowered as Lucifer moved it further out of his reach. "I was reading that!"
"It's half past three in the morning, Satan." Lucifer pointed out in a weary voice. "And, if I recall, you agreed to help Solomon with an experiment in the morning, didn't you?"
"That doesn't mean you get to just walk in here and take my book! " Satan snapped. "Besides, it's not like I'm bothering anyone!"
"Fine," Lucifer relented with a sigh as he handed the book back to Satan and watched as the fourth born eagerly rifled through the pages to find his place again, "just don't moan at me if you're tired tomorrow."
"Like I would," Satan scoffed as he settled back more comfortably into his armchair and began to read again.
"How long have you been sitting down here?"
"All night, why?"
"Mammon said he heard something growling earlier, any ideas?"
"It was probably just Cerberus." Satan replied dismissively without looking up from his books.
"My thoughts exactly."
"But I did see Beel heading towards the kitchen not too long ago," Satan murmured in an afterthought, "I don't think I saw him go back upstairs, maybe it was just his stomach growling or something."
Lucifer gave a nod before he turned his back on Satan, left the library and continued through the hallway until he finally reached the kitchen where a certain gluttonous demon was searching through the cupboards.
Lucifer cleared his throat, making the other demon give a startled jump before he slowly peered around the door of the kitchen cupboard to stare at Lucifer.
"Lucifer." Beel greeted the Avatar of Pride as he closed the cupboard door with a guilty expression.
"I'm glad you're here, Beel."
"You are?"
"Yes, Belphie has been sleepwalking again and he's fallen asleep in my bed," Lucifer explained, "if you wouldn't mind coming for him, I would very much appreciate it."
"Oh," a smile spread across Beel's face, "sure."
Lucifer crossed his arms as his eyes lingered over the cupboard beside Beel while the younger brother shuffled on the spot timidly as he carefully watched Lucifer's expression.
"If you're looking for Asmo's wicked cupcakes, he hid them on that shelf over there," Lucifer added with a small nod towards the highest shelf near the cooking fireplace, "they're behind the jug, I'll turn a blind eye this time as long as you make sure that you replace them before he notices that they're gone," he added before he pivoted on the spot and headed back towards the staircase.
A small smile played on his lips as he heard Beel move towards the shelf that he had nodded towards the instant he had stepped out of the kitchen and he cast a curious glance into the library as he passed to see Satan still reading in the armchair.
"I'm getting way too lenient with them," he murmured to himself and shook his head with a small chuckle as he ascended the staircase.
He crossed the threshold into his bedroom where Mammon was sitting on the edge of his bed and Belphie was still fast asleep under the duvet.
Mammon stared up at the older brother expectantly.
"It was just Beel." Lucifer told him as he shrugged off his dressing gown and draped it over the nearby sofa. "You can stop panicking now."
"I wasn't panicking," Mammon said with a forced laugh, "I was just tellin' ya what I heard."
"You know, you should really stop watching horror movies before bedtime with Levi and Satan if they're going to get you worked up like this every time." Lucifer said pointedly.
"Whaddya mean? I love horror movies!"
"I could hear you screaming from my study."
"That was probably Levi," Mammon tried to brush off Lucifer's comment as he stood up from the bed, "anyway, it's getting late, night!"
Relief coursed through Lucifer as he pulled his duvet back, turned his bedside lamp off and finally laid down in his bed again.
"... say Lucifer?" Mammon's hesitant voice issued from somewhere in the darkness.
"Mm?"
"So… uh… can I sleep in your room tonight?"
"No."
"Thanks," Mammon said as climbed under the duvet beside Lucifer.
"What the—?" Lucifer sat up in bewilderment. "I said no, Mammon! Hey, are you even listening to me?" He snapped angrily.
"G'night, Lucifer." Mammon muttered in a tired voice as he flopped down onto the pillow.
"What part of 'no' are you having trouble—"
"Lucifer?" Beel's voice reached his ears, followed by the low creak of his bedroom door as it was pushed open again. "I came for Belphie like you asked."
"Thank goodness," Lucifer said under his breath with a sigh as he reached over Mammon to turn the lamp on once more and watched as Beel moved around to the side of the bed where Belphie was still in a deep sleep.
"Mammon?" A confused expression crossed Beel's face as he spotted the Avatar of Greed too. "What are you doing here?"
"He's too scared to sleep in his own bed," Lucifer replied in a blunt tone.
"I am not!" Mammon huffed. "I'm just too tired to go back to my own room."
"I see," Beel nodded before he then pulled the duvet off of Belphie.
"Thank you," Lucifer gave him an appreciative nod.
Lucifer's expression quickly turned to confusion and then to annoyance as he watched Beel lay down beside Belphie and pull the duvet back over them.
"Beel—"
"Belphie sleeps better when I'm around." Beel shrugged as he settled into the pillow.
"So take him back to your room!" Lucifer argued.
"But Belphie looks comfortable, I don't want to disturb him when he's sleeping so peacefully."
Lucifer massaged his forehead with an irritable groan, "fine, but you're all sleeping in your own beds tomorrow night!"
He turned to reach over Mammon to turn the lamp off again when a figure in his doorway caught his eye. Satan stared at each of his brothers with a curious look on his face before his eyes met Lucifer's and a mischievous grin played on his lips.
"All that reading made me feel tired," Satan said with a fake yawn as he crossed the room towards the bed.
"Don't you dare." Lucifer warned Satan in a low voice.
"Hey Mammon," Satan continued, ignoring Lucifer's warning as he nudged the Avatar of Greed, "move over."
Satan met Lucifer's glare with a smile while he waited for Mammon to shuffle over before he too clambered into the bed and made himself comfortable.
"Satan! That wasn't an invite to—"
Lucifer's sentence trailed off as the sound of running footsteps reached his ears and he turned his attention back towards his bedroom doorway once more as Levi appeared with his funtendo switch in his hands and a fleece blanket draped over his shoulders.
"L-Lucifer!"
"Now what?" Lucifer snapped angrily.
"The internet is down!" Levi said as he showed Lucifer the failed connection dialogue box on the screen of his switch.
"It's nearly quarter to four in the morning! Go to bed or play your games offline, I'll sort it out at a more reasonable time!"
He watched as a pout formed on Levi's lips.
"Fine," Levi muttered in a resigned voice.
Levi then slumped towards the sofa in a sulky manner.
"What are you doing now?" Lucifer asked as he watched Levi's every move with a stern expression.
"I'm getting a cushion."
"Why do you need a cushion?"
"To rest my head on."
"So use one of the pillows in your own room."
"But they're in my room," Levi pointed out as he grabbed one of the sofa cushions and moved towards the foot of Lucifer's bed, "hey Beel, can you move your feet over a little?"
"Sure," Beel replied as he shuffled out of Levi's way.
"No! Stop!" Lucifer snapped again as he tried to stop Levi from climbing onto his bed too. "This is getting ridiculous! Just how big do you all think my bed is?"
"I'll text Asmo," Satan piped up and he fidgeted to reach his D.D.D.
"Why are you texting Asmo?" Lucifer asked in an exasperated voice, taking his eyes off of Levi for a split second who used the distraction to secure his place between Beel and Belphie.
"He's the only one who's not here, he'll feel left out if we don't invite him too." Mammon pointed out.
"Satan, give me your D.D.D now! You are NOT texting Asmo!"
"Why not?" Satan asked in feigned innocence. "Did you want to text him instead, Lucifer?"
"I know that you're doing this deliberately to annoy me!" Lucifer glowered at the Avatar of Wrath.
"Is it working?" Satan smirked as Lucifer finally snatched the D.D.D out of his hands.
"Don't worry, I've just texted him." Beel chimed in as he held up his D.D.D to show the others.
"Why would you do that when I just said no?" Lucifer snapped at Beel.
"Mammon said that he'd feel left out," Beel frowned sadly, "I don't want him to feel left out."
"Well text him again and tell him not—"
Lucifer's sentence cut off as the unmistakable sound of more running footsteps grew louder and louder from the hallway until Asmo appeared in his bedroom doorway, dressed in his dressing gown with a pillow under one arm and a small, white wicker basket that was full of various cosmetic products under the other arm.
"I came as quickly as I could!" Asmo grinned as he panted for breath and slightly raised his arm that pinned his pillow to his side to show the others the text message from Beel on the screen on his D.D.D.
"Good. Now leave again just as quickly!" Lucifer scowled bluntly.
"There's some space over here at the end of the bed," Levi said as he shuffled over and patted the bed beside him without looking up from the console in his hands.
Asmo let out a cheerful hum as he climbed onto the end of Lucifer's bed to sit beside Levi with his pillow before he began to dig through his wicker basket of cosmetics, "what's a slumber party without a little pampering? I have nail polish, lip balms, lip gloss, face masks, clay masks, moisturising creams, retinol creams, eye masks, feet masks… oh!" Asmo pulled out a spray bottle with a pale purple liquid inside and inspected it before he then showed it to the rest of his brothers enthusiastically. "I also got this new body spray that's infused with chamomile and lavender to help with sleep—"
"Please douse yourselves in it so that I can finally have some peace and quiet…" Lucifer muttered in a weary voice.
Lucifer let out another irritable groan as music began to play from Levi's switch.
"Is that Smash Devils?" Mammon asked, quickly sitting up, he then crawled to the end of the bed to sit between Levi and Asmo before he watched the screen of the switch over Levi's shoulder. "I'll play against you!"
Levi gave a small nod as he detached the controllers and propped the console up on the bed between himself and Mammon as he handed one of the controllers to the second-born.
"Hey Levi, this is player two," Mammon frowned as he reached for the controller in Levi's hand instead, "swap controller with me, I want to be player one."
"Huh? No way!" Levi shook his head as he leaned out of Mammon's reach. "It's my switch, so I'm player one!"
"I'm older than you, so it should be me!" Mammon lunges towards Levi in another attempt to swipe the controller from his brother's hands.
As Mammon and Levi continued to bicker and shove each other, Asmo moved closer to Beel with a face mask in his hand.
"Hey Beel, how about we put on some—" Asmo froze as his eyes lingered over Beel's cheek "— is that pink frosting?" Asmo asked before realisation dawned upon him and he let out a gasp. "Did you eat my cupcakes?" His expression quickly darkened.
Beel slowly wiped the frosting off of his cheek with a guilty look on his face, "… Lucifer said that I could…"
"Lucifer!" Asmo whipped his head around towards his eldest brother with an appalled expression. "Is that true?"
By this point, Satan had already opened his book and begun to read again. He reached over to the bedside table to pull the lamp closer so that more light was cast over the bed.
"The detective in this book has just discovered six locked room murders, I couldn't possibly sleep until I find out the thrilling conclusion to this mystery!" Satan chuckled as he glanced up at Lucifer with an impish smile.
Belphie began to stir and stretch his arms and legs in his sleep, pushing them against Lucifer before he then tried to wrap more of the duvet around himself as he slept on.
Lucifer's eyes moved over each of his brothers as they each continued to bicker, argue or inconvenience him. With a resigned sigh, Lucifer let himself fall back against his pillows again and stared up at the ceiling, finally giving up on any attempt to get some sleep.
"I give up…"
