-Musutafu City-

Riding the train today felt different. Even if the atmosphere was the same as usual, he was nervous. Yes, he was nervous. After all, it was a big day for him and many people. Today is the day of the U.A. High School entrance exams and it cast a nervous haze over him.

Monoma Neito then glanced at the phone in his hand that just popped a notification, telling him he received a text message.

-GOOD LUCK-

-I know you will pass the Exams!-

Neito's mouth slightly turned upwards before he sighed and muttered to himself, "He doesn't know what he is talking about… He is now just an investor that worked overseas."

Tapping away in his phone, Neito replied politely to the man who paid all living expenses for him and his Mom.

-Thanks Dad-

His Dad responded immediately.

-Neito, I have the luxury to chase my dreams and so should you.-

-Become the Hero you always wanted to be-

Neito typed back with the question he always asked when he talked with his dad.

-I want to see you again. Come back home, Dad.-

And just like always, his dad didn't respond after that, and the chat line went silent.

And just like always, Neito feels the sting of pain, even if it was always the same result.

Throughout his experience in life, Neito came to believe in something fundamental in his view of the world, dividing society, the world and it's people into two parts. The main characters and the side characters…

The Main Character could be anything, a force that drives people and influences society through its action, while the Support Character is something or someone in the sidelines dependent on the main character.

Sometime if the Support Character is lucky or great enough, he can influence Main Character or the world when it's their time to shine. Neito firmly believed everyone was the main characters of their own lives…. Apart from himself.

Neito considered himself as a side character in his own life, especially if he became a hero. Because all people who have quirks fit for heroism are the main characters and people who don't have these kinds of quirks are side characters. Neito quirk shelved him in the latter group.

"Copy is a great quirk…" Neito thought to himself with an ironic smile, "But alone it's just a useless quirk as its heavily dependent on other people's quirks… That trait does not belong in the main character or their description."

"Hey is this seat free?" asked a mumbling voice that snapped Neito out of his mind. Neito just nodded and ignored the person who just sat next to him.

Soon he departed the train and was before the grand entrance gate of U.A., feeling a mix of anticipation and anxiety within himself as he prepared his nerves for the exam.

"Get out of the way, Deku!" a voice suddenly echoes across the schoolyard.

"Kaachan!" another voice yelped in panic.

Ignoring the commotion, Neito pressed forward to the school before glancing behind to see two people who were obviously the main characters of their stories walking towards the school, only for the shorter and green hair one to stumble and trip.

Actually, there were three main characters, Neito realized as he looked at what was happening behind him.

"A side character like me. Will it be brilliant if I outshine them?" thought Neito as he headed inside. His nervousness faded away as he headed for the written exam.

-U.A. auditorium-

Neito knew he did well on the well on the written exam as he headed to the auditorium, where students were filing in to their designated seats in the hall. Suddenly the auditorium darkens as one by one the lights are turned off. Before the lights hit the stage and they were greeted by a hero that Neito recognized.

The hero in question was a tall, slim dude with long, blonde hair that's spiked up in a big tuft behind his head and had a little brown mustache. His eyes are rectangular with concentric pupils and greenish-yellow irises that were always hidden behind a pair of Orange shades.

The hero outfit he wears is a black jacket with a super tall collar, flipped up and adorned with studs, and black pants with knee-high boots to match. Tan shoulder pads, a red belt with studs, elbow pads with studs, and black fingerless gloves make up his look. You can never see his neck because of the speaker he uses for his Quirk. He also goes nowhere without his "HAGE" headphones.

"Welcome everyone to my live show!" Present Mix shouted into the mic and jabbed his fingers out to either side of him at the crowd. "Everybody say HEY!"

He put a hand to his ear, but all he got was silence from everyone else

"Tough crowd!" Mic laughed. "Whatever! I'm gonna give you the run-down on how this exam is gonna go! ARE YOU READY?!"

More silence was his answer, though Neito could hear muttering among the rows of the students.

"Pay attention, listeners!" Mic yelled in the microphone, "We'll be seeing if you got skills in a ten-minute practice run at our replica-city district!"

Neito mentally groaned at the explanation as he realized the pressure was on him in this exam.

"Bring along whatever you want!" Mic said with a grin before telling everyone, "After this presentation, you'll each head to your assigned testing location!"

Neito then glanced at his exam card and saw that he was designated for Battle Ground C.

"There'll be loads of faux villains spread all over the battlefields and each one will be rated as One, Two, or Three pointers! Your job is to use your Quirk to take out as many of them as you can and rack up a high score!" Mic explained before warning them in a threatening tone, "Also, you can't attack other competitors directly! That's nasty anti-hero stuff, and it's against the rules, ya dig?!"

"Excuse me!" a voice echoed across the auditorium.

Neito glanced to his left to see a student in the stands- a young man wearing rectangle glasses who bore a very stern expression on his face. "On the handout, there are clearly four types of villains listed! If this is an error, then it's an enormous embarrassment for a top-tier national academy of U. A's caliber! What is the meaning of this?"

"Sheesh…" Neito thought to himself with a grimace, "A character like that is…"

"Also, you!" The teen suddenly twisted to glare at someone in the stands, who jumped in surprise and fright. "Quit muttering to yourself! We're trying to pay attention! If you think U.A. is just for fun, then leave this place at once!"

A green-haired teenage boy practically melted into his seat from embarrassment, covering up his face as most of the other students started to chuckle at him. All the while, Neito just stared at him with a frown before thinking, "Maybe I overestimated him… Being skittish is not a main character trait."

"That's enough…" Mic said, silencing the giggles before pointing at the teen with the glasses. "You make a good point, young man, so let me explain! The fourth type of villain is called the Zero Pointer! It's a big gimmick that goes wild in tight places, ya dig? If I were you, I'd do my best to avoid that sucker!"

"I see! Forgive my interruption!" The teen made an enormous bow and sat back down.

"Welp, that's enough from me!" Present Mic said as he threw his hands up in the air before becoming serious. "I'll leave you with a quote that my academy prides itself on! The Glorious Hero Napoleon Bonaparte once said, True Heroism Consists In Being Superior To The Ills Of Life. Go beyond! Plus Ultra! Break a Leg Everyone. Now get out there and have a great time suffering this trial!"

-Exam Battle Ground C-

When the Zero Pointer burst into the battlefield, Neito paled for a moment at the overkill in size and glanced at the wristwatch he loved dearly. A gift from his absentee dad for graduating middle school with top marks.

He had around a minute left of the two quirks he copied in this the exam from unaware examinees. One came from a horned girl who was standing away a couple of feet with a gaped mouth staring at the giant robot in shock, while the other was a blonde boy with a black lightning-shaped streak on the left of his side fringe.

Neito glanced behind and realized that those two doofuses have done a smart plan that just backfired horribly. The girl had led a horde of pointers to a narrow space where she used her acid quirk and the boy joined in with a huge electric blast.

Now they were trapped between a wall of villain pointers corpses that blocked their path of escape and a rumbling zero pointer that could run them over if they did not escape.

"Hey, get anything to get out of this mess?" asked the pink-skinned girl in a panicked voice. "What's your quirk?"

Neito then saw a strand of hair lying on the road and immediately picked it up to copy the owner's quirk.

The pink-haired girl began to ask, "Hey what are you-"

"Shut it…" Neito said sharply at her before his skin began to turn a shade of pink, much to the shock of the girl, "Generate as much as low concentrated acid you can! I will help!"

Neito immediately began to pour a stream of acid out of his skin, and his skin stung from using the copied quirk, and gritted out his teeth before growling out, "I am trying to save us here… Just make more acid!"

"My quirk?" asked the pink-skinned girl with a stunned voice, "You copied my quirk?"

"News Flash… We got a bigger problem! There is a homicidal giant robot about to run us over." Neito growled at her, "Me copying your quirk and the doofus's quirk over isn't there is the pressing issue! Besides, I will lose access to it in 30 seconds!"

Neito then immediately switched quirks and touched the acid puddle and the girl then poured more than he generated in seconds. Now there was a stream of weak acid running down the alleyway towards the zero pointer. Sending a flow of electricity through the acid

"What are you doing?" asked the girl with a disgruntled voice.

"I read somewhere that acids are excellent electrolytes and are the best among liquid conductors because of their ions…" Neito told her with a grin as bubbles began to pop out of the stream of acid, "What I am doing is electrolysis. Getting Hydrogen and oxygen from your weak and unconcentrated acid that is mostly made of water. Smell that? That's chlorine replacing the hydrogen in the water and acid."

"What's the point of this?" Mina asked as her teeth chattered, "Gas does not help against a thing that size…"

"Yes, but combined gas of oxygen and hydrogen in trapped in your acid makes an excellent fuel." Neito said with a grin as the Zero Pointer entered the stream of acid that was filled with bubbles of oxygen and hydrogen, and activated the quirk he just copied, a fire quirk… Not powerful but decent.

Neito's hands blaze and the acid explodes in a burst of flames and immediately a scorching blast of heat and air sent all of them flying away from the explosive flames as a huge pillar of blue flame burst and torched the zero pointer, cracking and melting the large armor before the heat of the flames escaped into it circuit board and overheating it. Shutting down the robot.

Neito just glanced at the burned down robot and sighed before he realized his sleeves were on fire before he put it out.

"TIME'S UP!" Present Mic's voice rang throughout the makeshift city and Neito realized the exam was over.

The girl just stared at his face with shock before began to howl with laughter as she pointed at his face, "Your eyebrows, man… They have been signed off!?"

Neito just growls at her before ignoring her, and walks over to where the School Nurse Recovery Girl was handing out gummies and recovery kisses.

A/N: This is a request from a friend of mine. The request was made to me a fanfic which Monoma is the MC. Class 1-B will also be in this story. I think this will help me write Shards which I put on hold for now.

So how did I do? Piracy is coming in a couple of days. Leave a review.
