Hello my Lovelies! I felt that something was missing from Unexpected so I decided to go ahead and rewrite it. I think it is much better than the original and i would like to know what you think as well.

The chapters have been marked so you will know which have been rewritten. If they say the word Chapter instead of a C then that chapter has been rewritten.

Hope you all have a wonderful day!

Superboy groaned. It was official. He was dying of boredom.

It had been a week since the battle with the mechanical imposter Superman and his minions. A week since he had met his father and the Kents. A family he didn't know he had.

It wasn't anyone's fault he hadn't known, but it would've been nice to have met them earlier. There were a lot of things he wished he had known sooner.

Metropolis was attacked a week ago by people who sought to protect it. Innocent people who gave their lives and paid dearly for it.

He felt kind of bad for them. They thought they were going to do good and help others, but their good hearts were taken advantage of. Instead, they became mindless minions, not in control of their own bodies. In the end, they all died when their suits malfunctioned, their bodies became useless.

Without the suits, their bodies couldn't function normally, dying the moment it shut them down. There was no saving them. We found out later. When they had accepted the shield and the powers that came with it, they were dead. The tech took over their minds, killing them from the inside.

That was only one of the drastic changes that has happened over the past week.

He groaned again, falling backwards onto the bed. After the fight, Superman had taken Superboy to his childhood home in Smallville, Kansas. Clark said it was best for him to stay there while he got his life back on track with him being 'found' alive hundreds of miles away from Metropolis, a story that somehow everyone bought. Said he needed time to adjust.

That is where everything seemed to slow down.

That didn't make the waiting part any more enjoyable. Superboy has spent the last week adjusting to civilian life on the farm and, after about a day, he was bored, again. Don't get him wrong, he likes the Kent's and the farm, but it's not the fast moving, heart thrilling life he had led back in the city. The calm life of Smallville was something he was just going to get used to, he thought.

There were a few perks to living out in the middle of nowhere. Like flying whenever he wanted. Not having to worry about dodging buildings. He could finally have some fun without having someone breathing down his neck every five seconds.

His phone vibrated in the pocket of his jeans catching his attention. He pulled out his cell, quickly unlocking it, before opening his contacts. He paused as he read the message.

Hey. Can you come over?

He smiled, typing a reply.

Yea. Be there soon.

With that he put his phone back in his pocket to throw on his boots. He ran at normal speed down the stairs and through the kitchen.

"No running in the house, young man," an elderly woman said, standing in front of the sink, cleaning the food she had picked from her garden. He grinned sheepishly, skidding to a stop.

"Sorry. Ma'am," Superboy said, slowing to walk through the kitchen. She shook her head at him, amused.

"Where are you heading off to? And no more of this Ma'am stuff. It's Ma to you," she asked, already knowing the answer. Clark could never stay coupled up inside the house for long either. The two did not know how alike they were and are still so different from each other.

"Outside." was all he said. It wasn't the first time he'd gone flying while staying with the Kent's. He technically wasn't lying when he said that. He didn't want to lie to the Kents, they have been very nice to him but he is still unsure about them and other things.

Martha expected this when she and her husband, Johnathan, agreed to take in the boy. A little eager to have a child in the empty house. She knew it would take time before the boy would trust them, and they were more than willing to wait.

She nodded.

"Be back before supper," she said, drying her hands. He nodded, waving goodbye, racing out the door, and taking off into the sky.

The wind flowed through his hair, destroying the neat styling he had left it in that morning. He grinned mischievously. I wonder how fast I can go; he thought before speeding up.

He closed his eyes a smile a mile wide on his face.

What he didn't see was the dark hole opening in front of him until it was too late. He opened his eyes sensing something was wrong. His eyes widened as he took in the sight in front of him. Something he was heading straight at going too fast to stop. He tried to stop or turn, but the black hole was drawing him in. He cried out, getting sucked into the void before both disappeared without a trace.

In Another Universe...

A black void opened up on top of the warehouse. It morphed, changing as someone stepped out from the other side onto the roof. The figure paused, turning around to watch the void collapse, fading in a bright light.
