A Much-Needed Talk.

Queen Mirellia was tired from barely convincing the other kingdoms from going to war but the opportunity to talk to this future seer was something she absolutely cannot miss.

The recent events matched Misato's prediction, and she needs to know more.

"Greetings, I am Queen Mirellia Melomarc, it is finally time that we talked, Misato Morgan, if that is what you call yourself."

Misato grins sitting on the bed, "You did your research." He shrugs "Makes sense, as for my name we'll stick with Misato for now."

Mirellia nods, she suspects Misato is his real name as he seems to trust his companions. "Very well, but I must ask, do you have any relation to Faubrey or Q'ten Lo?" The young man does use weapons similar to the weapons soldiers in Faubrey use. But his appearance matches the locals of Q'ten Lo who are rumored to have similar traits to Cardinal Heroes.

Misato shakes his head "Nope" He says popping the 'P'. "And you're never going to figure out where. But know that my allegiance is only with Queen Fitoria, to defeat the waves."

"I see… Very well, I shall explain about what is going on in my kingdom before any further questions." The Queen says, putting up her fan to hide her smile. His answer confirmed something to her, that Misato Morgan is a Summoned Hero just like the others.

Most likely, one of the Seven Star Heroes, the Projectile Hero, as the previous hero has seemed to have disappeared, and the weapons Misato wields are long ranged.

Summoned Heroes are known to have knowledge, even theorized to know the future. Misato's knowledge has been correct so far.

Queen Fitoria must have been the one to summon him as no Kingdom has announced the summoning of a new Projectile Hero.

Queen Mirellia then explained the situation, how all of the heroes being summoned in her kingdom was not supposed to happen. Not bothering to hide the venom in her voice when speaking about Pope Balmus and his zealots, her husband and Malty. Being truthful to this extent would make Misato and his party trust her, and she needed to release some stress.

"But I imagine with Misato's insight, you already knew that." No one in the room except the filolial boy, who was asleep, was surprised.

Misato nods. "Before I answer your questions, I have a few questions to fill some gaps and I believe my companion here has a question." he says pointing his thumb at Keel.

"What is your question?" Mirellia says.

"Why isn't Naofumi and Raphtalia included in this meeting? Don't they deserve to hear what is going on in your kingdom after what they just went through?" Keel asks.

Mirellia puts up her fan against her mouth. "I believe it is too soon to speak with the Shield Hero, he is too distrustful. Having him flee from Melomarc and to a rival kingdom would only spark a war." No doubt that Jaralis would jump at the opportunity to use Naofumi as an excuse to go to war, even if the Shield Hero says otherwise.

Keel frowns, Misato pats her shoulder, shaking his head. "Keel, despite what we had accomplished, you remember how tough it was for us to even convince Naofumi to go along with my plans, despite how many back up ideas I had?"

Keel sighs at this. The Queen's shadow did report when the mist barrier was lifted, Misato's team did look tired, even Raphtalia was too. The Shield Hero just looked irritated.

"He's slowly opening up thanks to Raphtalia but it's too soon since we are speaking to the woman who gave birth to Malty." The Queen shrugs off Misato's remark as the jab was nothing compared to the insults she heard from others.

Keel reluctantly nods. "Okay, but someday soon, we have got to tell them the truth."

Misato nods and turns back to the screen and says. "While we are talking about other kingdoms, Stilvelt, I imagine, despite the peace, there are high tensions aren't there?"

Mirellia puts her fan over her mouth. "Yes… There are too many scars from the wars. I fear if the Shield Hero were to flee, a war would only occur to conquer my Kingdom with the help of the others due to my Husband's stunt angering them." She barely managed to stop them from going to war.

"But, you're trying to help us and save the world too, Misato knew that in the vision. Don't they see it?" Rifana asks. The Queen grins behind her fan, so Misato's knowledge shows her in a good light?

So that is why he wished to speak with her?

"But due to Queen Mirellia being married to the man that decided to go along with the Church to summon all the cardinal heroes, they are doubtful of the truth…" Misato answers.

"He is correct." The Queen nods. Simply letting her guard down to say the truth would do nothing to appease the other countries.

She notes that Misato has shown some awareness of politics.

"Any more questions?" She asks, looking at the former slaves. The two shook their heads. She turns to Misato. "What questions do you have for me?"

"Ok many questions I have in regards to the first few days of when the Heroes were summoned."

Mirellia nods "Very well, ask your questions."

"Where were your shadows during the summoning, the trial and afterwards, why does it seem like none of them helped Naofumi in my vision?"

Mirellia, takes a sip of water, she puts down the glass with a tired sigh.

"During those few days there was a large Shadow War. My Shadows are better in quality but the Church has quite the quantity to match the gap. Communication to the situation in the castle was cut off. Once we regained some control, the damage was already done. My Shadows were only able to assist in a subtle fashion. Such as, acting as civilians dropping their coins by accident, but even then…"

The Shadow holding the crystal ball lets out an exhausted sigh "I dare say the Shield Hero became too paranoid for his own good, he once stared at a single silver coin as if it was poisoned for 3 minutes…"

Keel squinted her eyes, picturing the scene "Yeesh…"

Rifana sighs "Raphtalia-chan has a lot in her hands dealing with him…" Misato snorts at her comment.

The Queen continues "There is also the fact that the Shield Hero has shown to be paranoid even when Demi-humans from other kingdoms wanted to help, they were denied by him because of his paranoia." The envoy was shocked by Naofumi rejecting help, the young man was most likely too angry to notice.

"My Shadows were too late to help him and now he became too distrustful. Trying to help him now would only be a waste of time and effort and most likely deny any good chance to gain his trust." If they had a shadow to help him afterwards immediately with Erhard, perhaps but they were too busy recovering and fighting to regain the castle.

"How is it a waste?" Rifana asks. "Wouldn't getting your Shadows to insist on helping him gain his trust eventually?"

Mirellia shakes her head, such a naive young girl.

"You didn't see him the first time, the guy didn't like how I was staring and was wary. The guy was too jumpy at the sight of me and Ace." Misato says to Rifana. "If it weren't for you, Keel and Raphtalia, he would have ignored us."

Queen Mirellia now suspects Misato brought those two girls to speak with Naofumi through their mutual friendship with Raphtalia. Misato must have known the Shield Hero recruited her.

"You hope to gain his trust by your Shadows helping Naofumi by doing rather than speaking because actions speak louder than words," Misato deduces.

"Precisely." Mirelia nods. Once again the young man is shown to be perceptive and understanding.

"Is there really nothing to stop us and your Shadows from just taking Malty away from the heroes and the King?" A reasonable question, as Malty has been reported to be the main reason why the Shield Hero was an outcast from the others for believing in her. It is a good idea to try removing her to unite the Cardinal Heroes.

"Not without causing the church and the king to hunt you down or ruin your reputation. I have no doubt Queen Fitoria can remove Malty, but I fear it would only make her a target of their hatred if she interferes with her true identity revealed."

The Filolial Queen nods "True, such nuisances are why I chose to remain hidden as much as possible." Queen Fitoria's answer confirmed why she was a myth. To hide from those in power with their own agendas. Suddenly Mirellia feels shameful of her ancestors and fellow humans that wronged Queen Fitoria.

Misato nods, drinking his cup of water. "Okay, do you actually believe that I know of the future?" The young man looked almost hopeful but still skeptical.

Mirellia pauses, putting down her fan. "In spite of recent events, I don't completely believe you, it only depends on how much you know and how you answer this question." Misato has been correct on certain events, there's no way he can control the waves and it did occur near Riyute Village. To prevent casualties he risked his life being there as the first line of defense.

The Spear did challenge Naofumi to a duel and the Shadows reported that Misato never met Motoyasu, Malty and her husband or anyone else with connections to them before the banquet.

The only thing holding her back is this question that she has been dying to ask.

The Gun hero closes his eyes and opens them staring into the Queen's eyes "Go ahead, fire away, what is it?"

"What will happen to Princess Melty?"

Misato's eyes widened. So does the Queen when she raises her fan up.

"What will happen?" Mirellia says urgently. She needs to know… What would happen if she sent Melty to lecture her foolish husband?

Kidnapped for information and as a hostage? Will she die to those fanatics?

Such information is vital to the future of Melomarc.

Misato shakes his head with his hands raised waving. "Don't worry, in the vision Melty will be healthy and well when you come back…" He lowers his arms, staring at the floor. "But before, there were some close calls…" The Queen felt her heart plummet to her stomach.

The Gun Hero takes a breath and a sip of water, he then explains Melty's journey and the events she might experience. It was just like a storyteller reading a book out loud. She felt amused when Melty got separated from her caravan when she saw those adorable Filolials.

She felt guilty when Melty was rejected by Naofumi upon discovering her daughter's true identity.

When Melty failed to convince her husband and got scared when Aultcray revealed his true fears.

Mirellia hid her guilt and sorrow behind her fan but she was too tired, she couldn't control her eyes, and her hand was too tense. Misato and Queen Fitoria glanced at her hand for a second but they didn't comment.

It got worse when Misato described the malicious smiles those traitorous knights had and the one knight that had their sword raised behind her daughter's back…

But it was when Misato explained how Malty tried to burn Melty, no longer pretending to free her from Naofumi's 'brainwashing shield', Queen Mirellia dropped her fan.

"Your highness?" Misato asks, concerned, he recalls that the Queen breaking her composure was a rare sight, the only time she did that was after Malty, and the King was renamed and during Cal Mira's Wave when Melty was in danger.

Why was she so surprised to hear Malty tried to kill Melty or severely injure her in the future? Misato's eyes widened "She's surprised because…" Misato stands up pointing at the Queen.

"You knew that Malty had a terrible personality but underestimated how much of a twistedpsycho she became. So rotten to go as far to hurt and kill a child, and not just anyone, but her sister. To pursue the right to rule Melomarc, and would likely try to kill you and the King to obtain it."

Misato stares at the Queen with a somber look. "You actually believe I know the future. Hearing me describe the King and Malty's future actions has made you heartbroken…"

"Yes…" The Queen frowns. "I… I have underestimated how far my husband and daughter are gone." Mirellia leans her head back to her seat, no longer hiding how exhausted she looks.

"The way you described them all, when describing Melty, I can almost imagine she would do those things, you had her personality down perfectly… I wanted to know more before I discussed how to assist you and the heroes…"

"We can do it now or I can explain more." Misato offers.

Mirellia shakes her head "No, tell me more."

Misato describes how Idol Rabier took Melty away and was about to whip her. Rifana and Keel shivered at the memories. The Queen was enraged, snapping her fan to pieces. A servant out of view of the crystal ball, handed her a new one.

Describing how Malty manipulates Motoyasu to fight Naofumi again. Rifana and Keel rolled their eyes groaning, annoyed at how the woman interrupted any chance of proper understanding.

Misato couldn't see the Queen in the projection but he did hear ice shattering and her voice screaming through the crystal ball.

Then the Pope used the judgment spell on two of the heroes with Melty included.

"The Church has the long lost replica weapon?" Mirellia says.

Misato nods "Yes, those selfish liars tried to go on a campaign to conquer Melomarc." He then explains its abilities and powers best he could. Saying that the shield was not revealed as the Pope was too committed to his belief to use it.

When the Gun Hero described how the Pope was defeated, Fitoria interrupts.

"The curse series is a dangerous power tied to their emotions. It has a major drawback on the physical and the mental parts of the hero." Fitoria says.

"When Naofumi used a new Wrath Shield skill, it nearly made him bleed to death when he used it to kill Balmus." Misato explains. "Thankfully you arrived with some healers ordering him to be saved."

"I see, is that why you wish for my aid to improve the heroes even when my Shadows are busy dealing with the Church? I know the Heroes are important but we have very little numbers and resources to guide the other heroes." Mirellia questions.

Misato closes his eyes and takes a breath through his nose and out of his mouth. "Before I answer, I want everyone to throw away any thought of Heroes being above humans, or people who are only good or these god-like beings, take all that nonsense out."

The Queen may have covered her mouth but her eyebrow indicates that she is confused, nonetheless she nods. So does everyone else, even some of the Shadows but not Fitoria as she was used to dealing with them.

"I want you to picture, living in a world where things go the way you wanted, achieving world peace, finding love, saving the world and many people from evil…"

Rifana nods "I admit, the fantasy of marrying a Hero like in the legends, and living happily ever after like the stories, it is nice to imagine…"

Misato snaps his fingers. "Rifana, that is exactly the problem the other three heroes have!" He jumps off the bed, startling everyone.

"Before they were all summoned, they were normal people, people who dreamed of being heroes just like the legends and stories, where they defeat the great evil!"

"They lived in a world where Heroes were just a story, a world where there was no need for a hero to save it! Mediocre average people that would never have stood out among the masses!"

"And now suddenly, they were given the role they had fantasies of! They came to this world with the summoners asking for help, filling their egos! They are all delusional! Speaking to Naofumi confirmed my visions were correct."

"As for why?" He closes his fist and raises each finger naming the heroes.

"Itsuki, Ren and Motoyasu, they all DIED getting here! And because of this, they are most likely traumatized by the experience. It doesn't matter how quick, because death… It is a horrible thing."

"Think about it, the inevitable feeling of your soul leaving your body against your will! Only to wake up to what looks like a paradise filled with wonder and adventure!"

Before when he watched the show he didn't understand their incompetence, until now… Now he understands why the heroes are like this, but now after experiencing death, he understands.

"Most people consumed by fear and panic tend to seek comfort to ignore those issues. I believe the heroes are ignoring the fact that they died and the fact that this world is more than just a book or story for them to interact and experience…"

Misato places his hand over his chest.

"This."

"Is."

"Real."

Unlike the others he cannot deny that these people are real. Despite how similar they are to their fictional counterparts, Misato can't find it in his heart to deny that they are living beings.

"Something that we clearly know, but they don't and that's going to cost them and everyone else's lives…"

Misato pauses, giving everyone time to digest the information. He takes a breath and continues.

"As time passes on, the more their delusions control their ability to think and realize the reality of their situation…" None of the three were framed for a crime like Naofumi after a day.

They felt confident, certain they can do no wrong with a few 'scripted' exceptions like Glass.

"The more things go their way, the more stubborn they will be to not recognize what truly is at stake." It's why in the council they accused each other of lying and Naofumi of cheating as they failed to understand the capability of the weapon utilizing several strengthening methods.

They were so certain of what they knew in the games they enjoyed.

"Many people would often do things to maintain their joy and comfort." Misato points at the Queen. "Your daughter, Malty, being an example of that, after all she refuses to improve her behavior and understand that what she is doing is wrong. She's sadistic, prideful and foolish. She enjoys what she does and refuses to change from her selfishness…"

This is why the 3 heroes quit training after Cal Mira because things were 'too hard' or it was 'pointless'. Despite having little to no effect on any of their enemies after the third wave arrived.

"Including your husband, I guess Pope Balmus told him things that he wanted to hear rather than remember your wish to have peace with the Demi-humans… Reasons to lash his rage against people who had nothing to do with the war he experienced. After all, it's easier for people to hear what they want rather than not…"

It's exactly why Itsuki and Motoyasu refused to understand why they were listening to the wrong people.

"Your highness, in the vision, by the time you return you underestimated the Heroes' stubbornness to change, they even ran away to be free from you because they didn't like the training you gave them. Even though it was to help them improve, just like Malty." Misato adds, recalling the details the anime glossed over, that his friend, Reuben explained.

Queen Mirellia nods "What is your plan to improve them before I can return?"

Misato nods "Let me give you a breakdown on the heroes." He uses a crystal ball to project an image of Motoyasu.

"Starting with the Spear Hero, I admit he may seem like a hopeless idiot focused on girls. But after the duel, talking to him, he has shown some ability to reason on why Raphtalia is devoted to Naofumi. Its only the fact that Malty has convinced him that Naofumi raped her that stops him from realizing the truth of Naofumi's crime. But…"

The Hidden 5th Hero uses another crystal ball to show the recording of Malty hitting Naofumi in the back with magic. Zoomed in on her disgusting smirk as an example. "If evidence of Malty's true personality is revealed to him sooner rather than later, eventually he won't use Malty's voice as a reassurance to all of his faults."

"With the right people, Motoyasu could actually improve from his mistakes rather than to ignore it or push the blame to someone else." Misato then shows the recording of Naofumi and Motoyasu fighting in the duel.

"Many times in my visions, Malty has always manipulated the Spear Hero to fight Naofumi, blaming the Shield Hero for the problems he caused or any other incident. This is why I wonder, if there is truly a way to just simply remove Malty away from any of the heroes without causing stupid drama?"

Mirellia shakes her head. "Even if you succeed in taking her away without being seen, it would only make the church try and pin the blame on the Shield Hero. Since he is allegedly a criminal, many people would believe them."

The Gun hero rolls his eyes and groans in frustration. "Ugh, you're right but it doesn't make it less annoying."

The Queen nods, with empathy. "I understand the feeling too well."

Misato turns off the crystal ball. "So surely, Naofumi's framing can't be the only scheme your horrible daughter got away with, there's no way someone malicious as her would only do one terrible thing and lay low. She's the type to do more of that. If we get more undeniable evidence, Motoyasu might use his brain for once and get her out."

"More evidence?" Queen Mirellia questions. "Surely one major piece of evidence would be enough?"

"Your highness, in my vision when you come back and expose Malty for all her lies and schemes with a slave seal forcing her to speak the truth. But even then, Motoyasu still believed in her! "

"Malty tried to poison some food, luckily Melty stopped her and used the slave seal to get the truth. When Melty reported what Malty tried to do, Motoyasu still didn't kick her out!" Misato yells, releasing his frustration at the Spear Hero.

"If that is the case, wouldn't that mean any effort to convince the Spear Hero would be a waste of time before Malty's trial?" The Queen asks.

Misato shakes his head. "The Spear Hero may be stupidly stubborn but it's not infinite, eventually it will break. I would rather try to do it sooner rather than later before he gets too comfortable with his life in this world."

Fitoria nods "At the moment he does have potential to change but as long as your daughter is controlling him, he will not improve any time soon."

Mirellia places her fan down, seeing the pattern. "He will grow too complacent and lazy on how he carries on his duty by the time I return."

"You have a valid point. My agents do have suspicion of Malty doing unsavory things when she is away from the Spear Hero. We could catch her in the act with recordings or ideally, get Motoyasu to see it in person."

Misato cracks his neck. "Well, that's the best we're gonna get. Let's move on to the Bow Hero." He takes a sip of water to rehydrate his dry throat

"Itsuki has personality problems that could potentially make him the most irritating and worst hero among them all. Because he has a superiority complex."

Everyone and even Mirellia stared at Misato.

"What's a superiority complex?" Keel asks.

Misato stares at them with a blank look, he blinks. Oh right these terms never existed in a medieval world like this. Maybe the Queen but even she is staring at him with her eyebrow raised.

"A person's desire to feel superior to hide how they actually feel inferior, even to themselves."

"Itsuki has shown to mostly seek attention and praise of being a hero due to the bullying he received before he was summoned. Itsuki at his home world was gifted with a unique ability, which was accuracy, his shots never miss no matter how badly he shoots his bow but it was lacking compared to the more powerful unique abilities others were born with."

"But here that power made him feel better than all the heroes as they weren't gifted."

"Later on when Naofumi has proven to be stronger than Itsuki it made him irritated by that fact. He seeked reasons to believe that Naofumi, 'cheated' and those that manipulated him gave him the words he wanted to hear. To believe that he is always in the right and those that disagree are evil for that."

Keel was growling with her teeth showing. Rifana had a look of disgust. Fitoria had a blank look but her hands were clenched. Mirellia had her fan up but Misato knew she was frowning.

Misato recalls the manga of Itsuki being confronted for kicking Rishia out, since the anime skipped most of it. "One time, his weakest teammate was crucial to the victory in the waves. She was praised and he was not because he had little effect when fighting the wave boss."

"I'm not certain who but someone in the Bow Hero's party framed her of breaking something precious to Itsuki and he jumped at the chance to kick her out. Uncaring that she attempted suicide when Itsuki called her worthless…"

"WHAT THE HELL?!" Keel screams. Outraged at the Bow Hero.

"I'm sorry, is this guy really supposed to be a Hero?!" Rifana asks, incredulous to Misato's insight of Itsuki. These girls were given some warning, but Misato's detailed explanation was something they did not expect.

"Why do these weapons keep choosing such terrible heroes?" Fitoria 'asks'.

Misato lets out a tired sigh, understanding her frustration, dealing with many bad heroes, some were likely wielders with terrible personalities. After all this time surely after many mistakes, the weapons would choose decent heroes right?

Seeing that the current heroes for Bow and Spear are Itsuki and Motoyasu… He doubts those weapons learned anything in their decisions.

"This is troubling news…" Mirellia says.

Misato takes a seat on a wooden chair "Ya I know, it sounds really bad, but that's Itsuki in the future, a lot can happen in a few weeks." He points at the Queen. "I know you keep track so I ask if the Bow Hero only hunted monsters and not sought out corrupted nobles or bad people in power?"

"Yes, he has only hunted monsters as the Second Wave was close to arriving." Mirellia confirms

The Gun Hero smiles. "Then it is not too late, since Itsuki wants to go out there as a rogue helping people from those oppressed by tyrants…

"Then he might as well free the Demi-Human slaves from those who are like Idol Rabier." Misato says with a smirk. Keel and Rifana return his smirk with a grin at the idea.

"The Bow Hero in the vision somehow never seemed to encounter or realize how wrong the slaves were treated compared to what Naofumi does. Most likely, that big guy with the obnoxious mustache, Mald, got Itsuki away from that." Misato says as his eyes narrow at the memory of Mald.

"Mald is a nobleman, I do have a report of him expressing unsavory traits that many would dislike. But considering the Bow Hero's disposition, he would most likely not notice Mald's true personality, just like the Spear Hero and Malty." The Queen says, looking at some paper.

"But, despite Itsuki's selfish desires, he was chosen by the Bow, so deep inside, his desire to help the oppressed is genuine, only Mald twisted it to control him and allowed him to become the opposite of a Hero." Misato counters.

"If we have Itsuki confront those cruel racist bastards, Mald would leave as he isn't a fanatic for the Church, he only used them for his own selfish agendas." The Bastard had no shame in manipulating Ren and Itsuki after the Spirit Tortoise Arc and somehow got away with it. This time though,

He.

Is.

Not.

"Not only that but we can eliminate Nobles loyal to the Church. Two dragons, one stone. I believe that is how the saying goes." Fitoria comments, nodding in approval.

Keel raises her finger, moving to correct her. "Actually it's-Mph''

Only for Rifana to quickly cover her friend's mouth, shaking her head.

The Gun Hero turns to the Queen. "Lord Reichnott may have had some suspicion on some Nobles but you definitely got a list of people that would practice Rabier's twisted hobbies."

Mirellia, places her fan down, smiling. "Yes I do… I'll have my shadow send you a list for the Bow Hero later tonight."

Misato smiles, "I know you gain something from this but thank you." He bows.

"It is my pleasure." Mirellia leaned her head to indicate she was bowing. "Now what do you suggest we do with the Sword Hero?"

"Ren, the Sword Hero, is perhaps the easiest hero to break his delusion or the most reasonable to speak to. His arrogant act is mostly him hiding his inability to communicate or the pressure of trying to become this strong hero that many people believe him to be since previous Sword Heroes were known for that, correct?" Queen Mirellia and Fitoria nod to confirm Misato's guess.

"Honestly, keep him alive and have him learn and comprehend his mistakes, he could understand. In my vision he apologized for the Undead Dragon that attacked Naofumi and the plague it caused. Ren would probably have gone back to fix it but Naofumi already took care of it before Ren could see what he had done and break his delusions."

"Wait, undead dragon?" Mirellia asks.

Misato nods "Yes, Ren would slay this dragon, I assume it's to save the village, Mirso, since it was nearby in its cave but for some reason he left the corpse behind and it caused a plague, the dragon was angry at him despite dying. Its power came from the Dragon Emperor shard."

"Which reminds me, you should have that shard removed and given to me, or take me to this dragon." Fitoria says. The Gun Hero accepts her request.

"If the dragon was threatening the village, how was it still standing before the Sword Hero arrived?" The Queen questions.

Misato looks up to the ceiling, trying to recall the details. "Ya, now that I think about it, if the dragon was a danger why was that village still standing? Not only that but in my visions Ren, despite his pursuit of power, he doesn't do things without a good cause."

"He is supposed to be the most reasonable of the three. And has shown some of that trait when he backed me up on Malty interfering." He frowns.

The Gun Hero furrowed his eyebrows "My visions don't go far enough to bring up details of the past on what Ren did. Only a summary from a villager that Naofumi encountered when helping them from the plague. That villager seemed innocent but he could be biased without realizing it."

"I'll send someone to investigate the village's situation." Mirellia says.

"But don't you need every Shadow to help with the Church's schemes?" Rifana asks

Mirellia shakes her head and smiles. "Not everyone I know is necessarily a Shadow, and a small task like this should be no problem."

"I'll send some scouts to investigate as well. Many humans underestimate my kind's intelligence, some might slip out important details that would be vital to understanding the situation." Fitoria says.

"Really? I thought you would jump at the chance to take an Emperor Shard without understanding why." Misato says, surprised.

"Despite my dislike of their species and the dangers of these shards, some dragons have shown some understanding and willingly gave their shards to me. If this dragon was truly a threat it would've destroyed that village a long time ago before they could call for help." Fitoria frowns

"That is odd behavior, far from dragons that have committed mindless destruction when they had too many shards and it must have little if the Sword Hero managed to kill it in your vision. The Sword Hero's strength is rather lacking compared to the Shield Hero."

Misato nods, the Queens are right, something about Ren killing a dragon with a village nearby is strange.

The dragon back at Rabier's home that attacked Naofumi was strong, and it had a much larger shard than what he and Filo got.

"Well, we sort of have our plan now, but know this, I admit, this plan might not work. The main goal is to wear down their delusions. The results might not be obvious but eventually it will be worth it. Little things do go a long way."

"If we don't do it sooner, their thoughts of this world will be too solid to crack without making their minds break from the stress and guilt of their actions. I don't want to rely on a miracle for their recovery if that happens. Everyone in my vision was lucky no hero has died so far, and if they do die here the waves will get worse."

Fitoria chimes in. "A Cardinal Hero's presence makes the waves weaker, if one dies, the waves will get stronger and cannot be suppressed again until it is held off like the Waves before. Even if a new set of Cardinal Heroes were summoned again."

The Queen takes a breath. "Very well, I will send some Shadows to assist, I still need the majority of them to gain the upperhand from those parasites in my kingdom."

Misato nods "I agree, while the Heroes need to improve, we all know the Church is a major threat as they are willing to risk the entire world for their selfish views.

Fitoria's eyes narrow. "Such views make them enemies to the world." She turns to Mirellia "You are right, they truly are scum."

The Queen blushes before putting up her fan. "Indeed." She regains her composure, facing Misato. "Is there anything else?"

Misato yawns and explains a Hero's ability to gain strengthening methods from other heroes and asks for the King's ability with his staff. The Queen complies and orders a shadow to bring them the notes of her husband's ability. Rifana and Keel fell asleep when the Shadow arrived.

Fitoria read it to him and a pop up message appeared in his view. Giving him a total of 6 strengthening methods.

Strengthening Method: Magic Power-Up Points obtained!

While Misato glanced at the information of this method, Fitoria turns to her fellow Queen.

"I must warn you though. If any of the heroes, including Misato, dies. I will kill Malty to prevent any future hero and the king from being manipulated by her." Fitoria says, sending chills to everyone's spine.

The Shadows flinch, Misato's teammates woke up, even Queen Mirellia dropped her fan from the sheer force of Fitoria's deadly aura.

"I will destroy Pope Balmus and his loyalists when I drag them out of the ground like the snakes they are."

"The church's wish to make their belief 'True'." Fitoria says raising one hand. "Malty's greed, and Malicious personality." She raises her other hand and tilts her head.

"Both seem to not care about the danger of the Waves. Such behavior makes them enemies to the world, and any enemy of the world is MY Enemy." Fitoria states as a fact, clenching her fists.

"I-I understand." Mirellia says, she cups her hands, but they were still shaking.

Misato's handshakes as he slowly places it on to Fitoria's shoulder. She turns to him and gasps, shutting off her deadly aura.

Allowing everyone in the room to breathe.

"W-what was that?!" Rifana yells, startled by Fitoria's aura, clinging on to her spear in fear. Ace sat close to Keel, while she held her axe, looking around the room for any threats.

"Ace felt Queen Fitoria was angry…"

"Apologies, I wanted to show the Queen how serious I was." Fitoria says bowing.

Misato rubs her shoulder. "Go back to sleep. We're safe." Rifana, Keel and Ace reluctantly went back into their bed. He turns back to the Shadows, who have recovered.

"Well, before we end the night…" He gives Mirellia a serious look. "When you have the time, I want you to look at Melty, not as the Princess but as the child you brought to life… Do not think of your role as a Queen but rather as a Mother. Because the role we all have is dangerous and you should savor every moment you can with Melty when it's just the two of you."

Misato places his fist over his heart. "If Melty does return to Melomarc without you, I promise with all my will and might I will not let her die but just like the summoning, things are out of our control… So love her, like you're going to lose her."

Misato leans back on his chair, facing away from the crystal ball. "I…I missed my chance a long time ago." Fitoria squeezes his hand.

Queen Mirellia stares at the Gun Hero, her eyes filled with empathy. "I-I will… Thank you for giving me this chance. I pray for your success." The projection disappears and the light in the crystal ball fades away.

The Shadow holding the crystal puts it away in her cloak, she nods and all but two shadows leave the room. They bowed before the Gun Hero.

"These two shadows will assist you in your journey to improve the heroes." The leading Shadow says before leaving.

"What may I refer to each of you?" Misato asks.

"You may refer to me as Dawn." One shadow said with a feminine voice.

"And me as Dusk." The other shadow says with a masculine voice.

"Dawn, Dusk, please stand." The two complied with his order. Misato raises his hand to shake. Dawn first takes his hand.

"It is a pleasure to meet you both, you should all go to rest, it's been a long night and it's going to be a longer month for all of us." Misato says, shaking both Dawn and Dusk's hands.

"Yes sir." They bowed.

"Oh wait!" Misato yelps, pulling out a jar of small purple looking balls.

"Yes?" Dawn says.

"These have the tracking function of a slave seal, without the whole, zapping against my command stuff." Misato hands the jar to the shadow. "Give this to Melty and the Queen, it can activate when the ball is crushed against their skin or when it is swallowed. In case they are captured by the enemy. You can test it if you want but do it tomorrow."

When Misato examined the bottle of liquid used for slave seals, he recalled how Naofumi in the anime was able to track Raphtalia's location before the seal was broken.

So he decided to try and 'craft' the liquid to create some tracker bullets, they are like paintballs. Rifana and Keel helped him test it.

Dawn and Dusk gasps. "Thank you, Sir Misato." They said while bowing and left the room.

With the Shadows gone, Misato moves to sleep on his bed. He turns to see the Filolial Queen staring at him, confused, he asks. "Fitoria?"

"May I sleep with you tonight?" Fitoria requests.

The Gun Hero gives her an exhausted smile and rubs her head. "Of course." He lifts the blanket and lays down. "Remember, if it helps, you can sleep by my side anytime." It's fine for Misato as he knows Fitoria has been alone for a long time. Especially when she broke down back at the Sanctuary.

Although lately she hasn't asked him to pamper her. Misato mentally shrugs, she can go at her own pace.

Fitoria turns her head away from Misato's response, confused and her cheeks feel warm. "I know, but recently I have been feelin- Oh…"

She turns only to find Misato fast asleep. She looks at her hand and stares at the Gun Hero's soft looking hair on the top of his head.

She slowly places her hand on Misato's head and rubs it, the young man smiles. Fitoria grins at the peaceful sight. "No wonder why Mamoru-sama, Mr. Forrest and Misato do this to me so often, it is a satisfying feeling."

Being here with Misato, Rifana, Keel and Ace, gives her nostalgia, a sense of belonging she has long forgotten, perhaps it reminds her of the adventures that she went through? The ones Mr. Forrest and Mamoru-Sama told her in the recordings that remain.

Thinking about the Gun Hero. She and Misato can understand each other's pain of losing people who raised them.

As for the things she doesn't understand or have forgotten, Misato helped her learn. Like when she didn't consider the Shield Hero's internal scars and how it affected his thoughts of the other heroes.

Or just now, when the Gun Hero explained the future on how bad the Heroes become, normally she would be disgusted with these heroes and consider removing their lives but the appalling feeling towards these Heroes has diminished.

Perhaps it's her attachment towards the New Gun Hero?

Fitoria thinks deeply and shakes her head.

Ignoring the Gun Hero being included, she cannot find any motivation to kill them like the bad ones before them.

Or perhaps due to Misato explaining why they are like this. In a manner that is easy for her to learn, allowing her to digest the information and find it reasonable.

Whereas before, she mostly remembers Bad Heroes squabbling, making up pathetic excuses, like a bunch of children.

But now after listening to Misato, maybe she just didn't understand before?

Fitoria shakes her head.

It doesn't matter now, while Misato has helped her learn the situation, her patience does have a limit as some of the current heroes seem to be disappointing. The Bow and Spear have chosen poor wielders.

Fitoria's mind is filled with knowledge, much more than before thanks to Misato, such knowledge and understanding reminds her of limited memories with Mr. Forrest, teaching her things.

Though recently she noticed her feelings towards Misato feels different.

It's far from a bad feeling but it's different from the fatherly love Mr. Forrest and Mamoru gave her.

But what could it be?

The Filolial Queen shakes her head, perhaps she is too tired.

She lays down on the bed and scoots behind Misato, using her arm to hug his torso. The warmth of his body fills her with a sense of comfort and safety.

Then, she finally falls asleep.

"Mother, what is the matter?"

"Nothing sweetie, I just wish to sleep with you tonight that is all."

"Okay."

"You know that I love you right?"

"Of course."

"Good night my sweet child."

"Good night, Mother, I love you."

In the morning.

Misato and Naofumi's teams went off to some shopping with some discounts from merchants that appreciate the two heroes for saving the people of Riyute Village. Ace helped Naofumi in the Slave Tent by pointing out the eggs that are Filolials.

When they went to the witch's store. They checked their Magical Affinities, the ones for Naofumi and Raphtalia were the same as the show. But for The Gun Hero's Party.

Misato had Fire, Lightning, Darkness and Light.

Fire made sense as the main key for guns are essentially flammable powder ignited. Lightning, Darkness and Light were confusing but Misato is certainly not going to complain. He could create illusions, it's perfect for him and lightning is a welcomed bonus.

Rifana had Wind, Fitoria could teach her a few spells and control.

Keel had Water, maybe she and Rifana could do that Typhoon combo magic like Filo and Melty did in the anime.

Ace had Fire and Darkness. Makes sense considering his hair color. Misato and Ace could do some combo spells.

While shopping, they encountered Ren and Itsuki, who wished to speak with Misato and Naofumi.

Itsuki's party member, Mald, was against the idea of just the heroes speaking alone, until Misato pointed out how Mald doesn't trust his leader's strength.

Not only did Misato compliment Itsuki, he also got Mald away from the conversation, since Itsuki reassured him that he will be fine. Mald couldn't argue less he risks getting kicked out for offending Itsuki's sensitive pride.

So they decided to lean against the walls in an alleyway, using Fitoria's field magic to make the conversation private.

Ren starts the conversation, straight to the point "How and where did you get those guns?"

Misato replies calmly. "They were entrusted to me by a good man, we didn't know who made them but we knew that in the wrong hands, it could be dangerous."

It's partially true, no one really knows how the Legendary Gun was made, while Forrest didn't know who was the next wielder, the Gun itself trusted Misato to use it wisely.

Forrest knew that the next Gun Hero would just be another political tool so that's why it was kept a secret, not just to be hidden from the World Eater and her army.

Itsuki nods "Guns were weapons that many people in my world used, to defend people but many criminals used them too. Be careful with them."

Misato bows "I will, thank you."

"What happened to the man that gave you these guns?" Ren asks.

The Gun Hero faces the ground, frowning. "He's… Gone."

The Sword Hero's eyes widen, realizing the implications. He bows. "I am sorry for your loss."

"It's fine…" Misato replies. He turns to Naofumi, gesturing him to speak.

The Shield Hero gives him a 'Are you serious?' look. The Gun Hero frowns and elbows him.

Naofumi lets out a tired sigh. "Well, since you are here, thanks for helping me with the duel and calling out on that Tra-the King for withholding the silver coins." He says, not noticing Misato grimacing and rubbing his elbow.

Ren nods "We talked to the Lord of the village you saved, and verified you did defend them."

"A reward is well deserved for your efforts." Itsuki says.

Misato clears his throat, getting the attention of the heroes. "Ren-san, Itsuki-san, do you truly believe Naofumi-san raped Princess Malty? After what Raphtalia-san said on how Naofumi-san treated her?"

Itsuki and Ren looked put off by Misato using Japanese honorifics, shaking it off they stared at each other, uncertainty was written on their faces.

Misato sighs. "Consider the average level your party members were at and the fact that you heroes were all at level 1. How could Naofumi, with only a single point of damage in his stats and lack luster strength stats, overpower Malty, who I heard was about level 15?"

The two heroes gasp, staring at Naofumi. "He does have a point…" Ren says

Itsuki reluctantly nods "Ya… Misato did bring up good points about how Malty acted odd, clingy to Motoyasu. I heard victims don't do that."

"And Raphtalia seems very happy to be with Naofumi, the villagers did say they saw them fight together as one." The Sword Hero notes. "She admitted with all her heart that she believes in Naofumi."

Ren and Itsuki stared at each other and then they both bowed to Naofumi. The Shield Hero is thrown off by this action, leaning back. "We believe you." They both say.

"Sorry for not helping you back at the trial, her behavior seemed real, and there was evidence, or at least I thought it was enough…" Ren apologizes.

"But… I still don't approve of you keeping Raphtalia as a slave. It's wrong." Itsuki lectures.

Naofumi frowns and moves to speak but Misato places his hand on Naofumi's chest and scoffs.

"How Naofumi treats Raphtalia makes him a saint compared to the slaves I rescued from cruelty."

Itsuki raises his eyebrow. "What do you mean?" He asks, skeptical of that claim.

Misato then describes the wounds the slaves had when he rescued them from Idol Rabier. He described the detail of every wound, as the memory of their wounds were burned into his brain. The more gory details he explained, the paler the other heroes looked.

When Misato stopped, Itsuki's hands were clenched and he looked angry. "That is so wrong! You got a list of names?" He spat out, gritting his teeth.

The Gun Hero nods, pulling out a list. "It's written in Japanese and English thanks to Naofumi-san. There's one nearby Castle town but… Like Idol Rabier he is a war veteran that couldn't move on. So his level should be around 60 to 80, we should spend time getting stronger first before we rescue the slaves."

"We?" Itsuki asks, looking down on Misato.

The Gun Hero ignores the annoying expression and elaborates "Yes, we. You're going to need the manpower to evacuate the slaves and there could be a lot of guards. There was a lot in Idol Rabier's home."

The Bow Hero looks at the paper and nods "Alright, but where do we move the slaves to? Back at the banquet Naofumi did mention this place is a Human Supremacy country."

"We can move them to Van Reichnott's territory, it's a Demi-human safe area."

"Sounds good, I'll see you there at Rikert's land in about five days. We'll gather intel about the area and free those people."

"Hell ya we will" Misato grins, holding out a fist to the Bow Hero. Itsuki looks at the fist, confused but a moment later he grins back and bumps his fist.

At this moment the two long ranged fighters felt a sense of kinship.

Misato then hands Itsuki and Ren each a rosary of the three heroes church.

"I suggest you be wary of the church." Naofumi says. "They might not like their favorite heroes helping Demi-humans."

"Good point. Thanks for the warning." Ren says "I'll keep an eye out for slaves to rescue but there's a dragon threatening a village called Mirso."

Misato frowns. "Wait, how is that Village still standing if they are near it?"

"I don't know." Ren shrugs "It doesn't matter, since dragons are dangerous."

"True but, dragons are surprisingly neutral, they only attack when provoked, if the villagers provoked it, they would be burnt to ashes."

Ren frowns, looking at the ground, thinking about it. "You got a point… I'll ask for more details."

Misato nods "Try talking to the dragon first before fighting, it might be intelligent enough to speak."

In the anime, the dragon's spirit spoke to Naofumi before, affecting the Shield of Wrath. It might be able to speak when it's still alive.

"It's worth a shot." The Sword Hero complies. "I got to go." He says walking away

"Me too, see you there Misato." Itsuki follows Ren out of the alleyway.

"Oi, Ren, Itsuki…" Upon hearing Naofumi's voice, the two heroes stop.

"This isn't a game. This is real." Naofumi emphasizes the last word.

The two wordlessly nod and walk through the Mist. Fitoria's field magic is lowered. Misato and Naofumi turn to see Itsuki's party staring at Fitoria in fear.

"What happened?" Misato questions.

Ace pouts "Big guy was acting like a jerk to Ace's big sisters, before I could wallop him, Queen Fitoria scared him by staring, and… Us." He says the last part hesitantly

"How did it go?" Raphtalia says handing Naofumi the Filolial egg.

Misato smiles at everyone. "It went great." He pats Naofumi's shoulder. "Good job on that last message."

"Just doing whatever it takes to break their delusions so we could open that stupid door." Naofumi says.

"Ya but since they don't know I'm a hero too, it's more effective to hear it from someone they know who is from another world like them."

"Whatever." Naofumi mutters. "You think we did enough?"

The Gun Hero nods. "Ya. Let's head back to Riyute village and help you raise that Filolial."

Welcome to the end of this chapter. Sorry for the people waiting for the plot to move forward in a month. Only to get an exposition dump. But this time Misato explains his plan in more detail and sort of a plan on how to change the heroes.

I was also in a bit of an Anime marathon, when I decided that looking up websites for free anime was too risky. So I bought Crunchyroll to watch shows I wanted.

On an unrelated note, I should mention Misato did watch Lycoris Recoil before he died.

I was a bit burnt out for this story so to sort of refresh I did the idea of Shadow Fight 3 X My Hero Academia fanfic. I mean come on, the guy in the logo looks so badass.

Misato explained his plans, with his limited knowledge of Season 1 and Season 2 and some details the anime did gloss over. I thought this plan was the most viable plan available to change heroes. While avoiding too many casualties.

In CH 10 and 11 I decided to change from Fitoria sleeping (Not like that!) with Misato recently and changed it to just her not doing that. So, in this chapter, her sleeping by Misato's side was the first in a while from when she did that after she broke down in CH 5.

She had no attachment in a long time outside of Filolials. Misato was the first to reach out when she was emotionally unstable from that glimmer of hope of her memories. So, she might be confused about her emotions since it's been a REALLY long time for her to interact with anyone meaningful to her.

I imagine most interactions with past heroes were very limited compared to Canon Naofumi and Misato.

And she is a Rei Ayanami Expy…

Again, what are your thoughts of Fitoria throughout this story? Am I doing her right or wrong? Considering the circumstances, she just experienced. Please do give me feedback.

I am nearly running blind here.

Anyway, I am tired, I might come back later to make some changes on this chapter.

Thanks for reading and have a wonderful day or night!
