Chapter Twenty Two: The Confrontation
Although it seemed that everything was finally getting back to normal, Elizabeth and Caleb were focused on their own life together. Brian was doing his own thing, Michael and Maria were up to their own shenanigans, it all seemed like everything was going well. Or well at least that is what they all had thought because they didn't have to worry about Max or Klara. And that was for the best really, those two were obnoxious to them really, and always had a fit about something.
Both Caleb and Elizabeth were walking together, and they had seen Ezra walking, to which Ezra said "Caleb, you should not go this way, it's bad". Elizabeth asked "What's going on" and all they heard was Caleb's father call out his name. Caleb stated "I know why now" he just held Elizabeth closer to him which he said "What do you want father". Their father stood there looking down at Caleb and he said "Still with the blonde I see".
Caleb replied "Of course, nothing has changed my mind about her at all" his father said "You are really one stubborn person you know that". Caleb responded "And you really think that you are any better? Like you're not some perfect person like you think you are". Ezra was staying out of this, to which Caleb stated "I don't even know why you came here". His father replied "Because Caleb, you are making a fool out of yourself".
Caleb had stated "I'm making a fool out of myself? What the hell are you even talking about? I am not making a fool of myself, besides you're here telling me what I should do". His father was about to say something but Caleb added "Don't even, just leave I don't need to hear it". He then walked off rather frustrated now, Elizabeth just followed him. However his father said "She's just like Zoe, she isn't anything different".
Caleb really got angry at that and he argued and people heard him "Do not compare her to that damn ex of mine, Elizabeth is better than her… I don't care what you have to say". He continued to walk, which he wanted to find somewhere to calm down now. He had ended up going to one of the local diners to get some food, Elizabeth had followed him. While she sits with him, Caleb sighed a bit and he said "Sorry you had to witness that".
Elizabeth replied "Don't worry, I get it really.. I just didn't want you to hurt yourself" which Caleb chuckled a bit before he said "I may be angry but at least you know". However Elizabeth replied "Remember last year's incident in the classroom". Caleb argued calmly "Yea, that was different, plus Brian was rubbing it in my face remember". Elizabeth stated "I know but I'm just saying out of concern alright darling" she told him.
Caleb nodded, he said "I know, besides I'm looking forward to our appointment" as he placed his hand on her belly as he stated "Our little devil". He chuckled a bit, Elizabeth had rolled her eyes before she said "Yeah I know, they are our little devil". Caleb was about to move his hand, but he felt something as he said "Well hold on now". Elizabeth asked "What's going on?" and Caleb had placed her hand on where his hand was at, and Elizabeth felt it too.
Caleb stated "They are quite the active one, I will admit" Elizabeth replied "Yea I know, god I am starving will they come over and take our order". However, Peyton came over to the table as she said "So what will it be?" and she looked up to see them. Peyton said "Y'know I thought I heard your voices" which she asked "How's the child" Caleb replied "Active we'll say". Elizabeth nodded in agreement which she said "Kickin and such".
Julian and Autumn had walked into the diner as the two were talking about something, which it seemed like the two finally got together and such. The two seemed happy, which Peyton said "So you guys heard about the two". Which Julian asked "About what?" which Peyton replied "Their kid's quite an active one" which Autumn asked "How'd you hear that". All Peyton did was point at the booth and the two came over to find Caleb and Elizabeth together.
Elizabeth said "Well thanks Peyton, we were just trying to have a time together at least because we knew that we wouldn't be getting much breaks". Caleb had chuckled a bit, and he said "Relax darlin, besides at least we'll get our peace when we go for that appointment". Julian chuckled and said "So Caleb when are you gonna do it" Elizabeth replied "Do what?". Caleb grew nervous because he knew what Julian was talking about.
Julian said "Oh nothin Elizabeth, it's a gaming thing that I wanted Caleb to add me on" which Caleb replied "I know, I haven't been able to add you yet". He added "I've been busy dealing with more important matters than some video games to be honest". Julian stated "Understandable, besides she's more important than some videogame". Peyton said "Elizabeth, can you help me with something" and Elizabeth asked "What is it?".
Peyton replied "Well I'm going through this catalog for the team, I'm stuck on something" which Elizabeth sighed and she got up and went to see the issue. Julian pulled out something, it was a small ring box and all he said was "Here you go man, your brother got it for you". Caleb looked at the ring which he said "Are you sure it'll" Julian nodded. Julian stated "Peyton did the team's ring sizes for the graduation-year rings".
Julian added "Just so that when the time comes, you know when to do it" which Caleb nodded a bit now which he had an idea on when he was going to do it. But he wasn't going to let any one of them know because it will be the moment he'll know not them. Besides he doesn't want any predictions going around just yet, plus to throw them off would be better. When Elizabeth came back over, Caleb quickly had hidden the ring box now from her.
Elizabeth sat down with him again when she didn't notice what he was hiding, she said "Sorry about that she was looking at some new uniforms". Caleb replied "It's fine darlin, me and him were talking about some stuff and such". Elizabeth nodded now because all that remained for them would be their appointment at least for the events this week. However it wouldn't only be her appointment happening this weekend.
